Meeting someone new

Lina noticed one of the newest members of Nox Animus, sitting alone at a table in the guildhall. she remembered when she did that herself, and didn't want the newest member, Eric, to feel left out of things. so she sighed, and got up from her table and sat down by him. across the table on the opposite bench. "hi, Eric" she said with a smile.

Eric sat by himself just reading a fantasy novel but at the same time looking down at a piece of paper drawing several circles but stopped at random times where he put the pencil down to scratch his head "I need some sort of symbol to help my magic..." he murmured before looking up as a person, a young girl who had greeted him very friendly on his first day sat infront of him with a smile "hi...Lina right?" he greeted with a question to make sure he had her name right

Lina was still smiling, playing with her hands by her chest. a little habit of hers, she nodded her head, "mhm! lina's right" she grinned."well, h-how are you? you like the guild?" She asked politely.

eric smiled as he looked at lina, she seemed very nervous and shy just like him "im good and yourself? and please take a deep breath and relax im not gonna bite" he assured her with a smile

Lina nodded and took a deep breath, but she couldn't stop herself from playing with her hands."s-sorry its just kind of a habit of mine..and I'm good!" she tilkted her head and smiled again, looking at the sun outside with its evening light. Her expression changed as she looked at the sun touching the horizon, almost like an axious look. But then she shook her head and turned her attention back to him. "anyways, are you enjoying the guild?" she asked.

He couldn't help but take note of her odd behavior with her hands clasped together before looking outside to the evening sun with her then looking back at her soon going back to their conversation "its...interesting....to say the least" he replied with a small chuckle "how was it for you when you joined?" he then asked

Lina put her elbows up on the table and twined her fingers for a place to rest her chin, she thought for a moment before she responded to his question. "well, before Nox Animus I didn't have anyone close to me, at the time I had no memories of any family I used to have and the only person I was close to has passed away. But then Yuna found me'n...I ended up joining the guild, I was shy at first and the only people i really knew were Yuna and the old guild master Zenneth, but then I found out my older brother is in this guild and got my memories back, now I have many more friends than I've ever had before and its been amazing." she smiled, her life would have been totally different, and depressing for that matter, if she hadn't have joined the guild. but then she remembered the sun, and looked to see the it finally start to dip over the horizon. feeling the moon rising, giving her chills up her spine. "hey, uhm..." she started, her voice suddenly getting shaky.

Hearing her story about how she lost her memories before joining nox animus was very depressing even for eric, but once he heard that she regained her memories after joining nox animus he smiled for her "that's great that you got your memories back" he said to her with a smile. noticing her voice beginning to shake he looked at her confused "yeah? are you okay? your voice sounds really shaky.."

Lina let out a shaky sigh, "just...don't freak out... okay..?" she sighed, looking at him then clenching her stomach. but then to his surprise she started to shrink, then she disappeared under the table. but then she looked up, with a little fox face. "this happens at night.." she sighed, she had recently learned to speak human in her fox form, luckily.

"don't freak out? what do you" he asked before it stopped and he looked over to find that the person he was talking to had now turned into a....fox? his mind tried processing what just happened while if his mouth was elastic it would drop down to the floor in surprise "every night?..." he asked still dumbfounded by what was happening

Lina jumped up on the table"yes...its kind of a curse.." she sighed, looking down and wrapping her tail around her paws. "b-but my brother is trying to teach me to control it! but for now it just happends every night.." she looked up at him for a second, before looking back down at her paws.

Eric, after a couple of minutes, finally pulled himself together and looked her up and down trying to put the pieces in place "so...its a curse...that your brother is helping you control, and do you have any clue as to how to make the curse go away?" he asked after a great deal of observation

Lina flicked the white tip of her tail, her fur wasn't gray, it was more of a silver. as it seemed to shine as the moonlight flowed in through the window. "well..ill always have this form, so will my brother, i also have a demon im not strong enough to turn into yet.." she looked up, then down, flicking her large ears around.

eric put his hands in front of him and closed his eyes still processing this event "so what you're saying is that aside from this form right now, you can transform into a demon if you get strong enough?" he asked making sure he heard her right

"w-well, me and him are the last lunar mages alive, he said something about us being the cross between a moon goddess and a demon...or something of that sort..but, from what i've heard its a bigger version of my fox form, and i can stand on two legs. so like a demonic human fox...if that makes sense.."she tried to explain

Eric now looked at her confused as she tried to explain her story "so you guys are the last lunar mages? what happened to your parents?..." he asked "so like a half human half fox thing?" he then replied raising an eyebrow trying to make heads or tails of what she was saying
