"Hop in" Kiku states.
Harus face is unamused. She shakes her head no.
"Get in!" Kiku exclaims.
Haru shakes her head no faster. She makes hand gestures imitating vomiting.
"You're kidding. You get motion sickness?" Kiku asked.
"The worst...." Haru said.
Kiku hops onto the seat and grabs the reigns. Whipping them swiftly, the horse begins to run forward. Haruhi, agaisnt her better judgement, leaps into the back of the cart. Immediately becoming incapacitated. She fell to the floor of the cart like a wet towel. All the while Kiku bursting into tears from laughing so hard.
"So what do you think of the mages, Haru? Do you think they will come after us?" Kiku asked.
Haru couldn't respond. Only a mess of impossible to understand gurgles came from Haru.
Several hours had passed sense they took the cart and started their trip back to the Tartarus hall. Haruhi rolled out of the back of the cart, on one of their breaks.
"Let's camp here...."Haru suggested. "I can't handle any more."
Kiku hopped into the back of the cart and rummeged through the crates of supplies and food.
"HARU!" Kiku jumped out and ran to Haru, holding out a bottle of rum.
"And I, a beautifully aged whiskey worthy of my efforts." Kiku stated.
Haru smirked as Kiku started sipping from her bottle. She popped the top of hers, and as Kiku did, started to drink it down. Her last memories of that night being that of her and Kiku sitting around a small fire, talking out their recent work.
The sun peeked over the mountain on the horizon. The rays woke the girls, and readied them for the last short leg of the journey. Having been through so much this past day, Kiku and Haru needed a break. They walked alongside the cart, patting the horse, and realizing more and more about who they had become. Haru's mind was foggy. She felt immense hatred for these merchants. She hadn't any idea why, but she was certain an answer would arise in the coming days. Kiku pushed herself past any limits she thought possible. Reaching the hill before Tartarus, they looked down at the Guild hall. Proud they were able to bring back what they were asked, minus a couple bottles of delicious booze.
