(Open/Social) Fresh Meat - Silvaetus joins ST!

Silvaetus approached what seemed to be Saber Tooth’s guild hall. A massive run down old building, evidently deserted. There was no doubt that it radiated a sense of absolute power in its prime, but now it just looked pathetic. He entered the structure, pushing aside heavy wooden doors as he did causing them to creek under their own weight. The mad scientist walked through the foyer towards what seemed to be the balcony. Dead in the center stood a radiantly glowing crystal, the power within it pressing down on Silvaetus shoulders. No mistake – this would take him to his next destination. A single touch and a white flash blinded the mage.

Once he had recovered, it dawned upon him that he was no longer at his previous location. The cold wind and faint lack of oxygen lead him to conclude one thing: The massive construct before him, the one he now stood upon, was high up in the air. A look over the edge of the platform he stood on proved him right. “Elevation: 2.2 kilometers. Coordinates: unclear” he mumbled “Interesting location…Let’s see what lies ahead. For a member to recruit me here into a legal guild…this group seems stranger the more I think about it.” A manic grin on his face once more he moved towards the main building, his steps pounding on the cold stone floor. The sound of a marching man - a march towards a new future, a march into a new chapter.

Hika had just came back from buying supplies and food needed for her, which were definitely bars of chocolates.  She held a package full of sweets in her arms and entered the building, which stands as the past Sabertooth guildhall. Soon after, she found the lacrima, sitting in the center of the balcony of the building. Stepping on it, Hika was immediately directed to the new guildhall. She landed with the small jump on the platform. Humming to herself, she hugged her package close to her chest as if someone was going to steal it, and walked across the platform. That was when she saw a man, from a distance, walking towards the guildhall. She frowned and followed behind him, quickening her pace. Hika stared at him for a while, wondering who he might be. "Hello. New member, I suppose?" She spoke as she stood beside him, a warm smile on her face.

Silvaetus glanced at the girl that walked up beside him. By the looks of it she was no older than himself even though she was quite short for her age. Most people may have judged her to be younger, but Silvaetus wasn’t most people. "Hello. New member, I suppose?" she asked all friendly like. Not even five minutes in and he already had to interact with people in a social manner…without an ulterior motive for once. With his naturally kind voice he replied softly: “It appears as though I am…” barely a sentence in and his situation already started to annoy him. But for the sake of not making enemies he carried on with the act “My name is Silvaetus Medley, but you can call me Silver. The master of this establishment invited me as a...eh...specialist of sorts.” An icy wind swept over the stone bridge as though nature sensed his cold blooded nature.

The two mage now stood in front of the large iron gates leading into the guild hall. The massive structure was simple yet emitted a certain majesty and power. So much in fact that it inspired a certain sense of…well he himself was not sure of the emotion. Fear? Awe? Respect? However now was not the time to worry of such things. First thing he had to do was not simply join the guild, but also join its society. “So tell me..” he said still staring at the massive gate “Who exactly are you and where have I ended up? “

“My name is Silvaetus Medley, but you can call me Silver. The master of this establishment invited me as a...eh...specialist of sorts.” She nodded, a smile still on her face. He was a truly strange man but that just made her more interested in him and his masked face genuinely intrigued her. Hika stood in front of the guildhall, her mind spaced out for a couple of minutes. “So tell me..” That startled her a bit, as she snapped back to what she was doing. “Who exactly are you and where have I ended up? “ She blinked at him, surprised with the sudden question. "Oh, right. Forgot to introduce. I'm Hikari," Beaming up at him, she added, "This is the guildhall, Silver," Her face lit up as she walked towards the huge doors and leaned against it, slightly opening it for him to enter. "Welcome to Sabertooth, guildmate."

Without hesitation Silvaetus stepped through the door that the girl, Hikari, had opened for him. The furniture inside was so shiny it dazzled him for a second, causing him to stumble back a few steps. Everything was simple, yet elegant in design with gold and metallic grey being the main colors. Even the floor was polished to perfection. Truly very luxuriously decorated…not really to Silvaetus taste. But being used to a dark, damp and cramped room will do that to you. It was just too much space that could have been used more efficiently, in his opinion.

“So this is Sabertooth…” he muttered with his back to Hikari “A little extravagant for my taste, but I can live with it.” That was a plain lie – in reality the style and wastefulness was eating at his very (what can be assumed to be) soul. Trying to distract himself Silvaetus truned to the short blonde. “You seem rather relaxed to be in my presence. So I can only assume you have no idea what I’ve been doing in the criminal underworld…and probably for the best.” The mage looked up to the ceiling – just as annoyingly dazzling as the rest. Sitting down at a nearby table, he tried to pry the girl’s mind for information “Now then…why don’t you tell me a little bit about yourself or the guild.”

Hika watched him being amazed by the luxurious interior structure and design of the building. He had described the place as 'extravagant'. She giggled slightly. Well, she actually thought the exact same thing when she moved to this place too. Though, after living here for a couple of months, she became quite used to the overly elegance. “You seem rather relaxed to be in my presence. So I can only assume you have no idea what I’ve been doing in the criminal underworld…and probably for the best.” Hika blinked back at him. "Well, I don't think you'd do any harm. Plus, you're quite approachable and friendly, at the least," Her lips formed a smile as she took a seat beside Silver. “Now then…why don’t you tell me a little bit about yourself or the guild.” She scratched her cheek nervously. She wasn't quite used to tell others about herself, but well, maybe she could give it a try.

Hika placed her package of sweets beside her. Hika set her arms relaxed on the table as she drummed her fingers softy. "Well, this is the new guildhall of Sabertooth. The place you were at, before you came to this place, was the old one. And I'm probably sure you've met Zenshin, our guild master, already." She paused. "Ah, I'm kinda a chocolate lover. That describes me, in general," She let out a laugh before propping herself on one elbow and stared at him. "You said you're from the criminal underworld. That's pretty interesting. Mind telling me more about it?"

“Well, I don't think you'd do any harm. Plus, you're quite approachable and friendly, at the least.” Of course he did! After years of practice this was the persona he used to disguise himself in society. His appearance was out of place in this world and so he stuck out like a sore thumb. The only way to have those around him not report to the authorities he had to befriend them. He could kill her this instant and not continue on as though nothing happened. The naivety of this girl was almost too easy to exploit and he felt genuinely sorry for her…

He froze. Why did he feel pity for this girl? He couldn’t have cared less for her existence and yet…No, it could not be. There was no way she was Adeline, but somehow she reminded him of his lost sister. The mage’s hand quivered slightly as his new emotion struck fear into his heart. He gave a command for his spine to inject more sedatives and quickly the feeling vanished. His hand stopped quivering. The man mowl seemed perfectly fine again, the art of deception working instinctively.

"You said you're from the criminal underworld. That's pretty interesting. Mind telling me more about it?" Ah yes, the awaited counter question. To receive personal information he would have to give some as well according to social etiquette as he understood it…even though ‘liking chocolate’ wasn’t much to work with. “I was a weapons dealer, an illegal one at that. My ingenuity is a gift and a curse. As I strive to further my research I require money for supplies and so” he clapped his hands together “one plus one equaled two. With my research I made weapons that I sold. The money I earned from selling went into further funding of my research.” A short pause as he fumbled out the scrap of paper Zenshin had handed him. “One of my jobs coincidentally was to forge an artificial arm for your master. Now I don’t want to brag” he actually did want to boast about his work “but he saw my prowess and offered me a deal. I would get all the materials and funds I desired if I would work under him. My job currently is to fortify this place...and tight now it looks to be a rather great challenge.”

Hika listened quietly and nodded from time to time as he explained about his past. "Forge an artificial arm? You can do that too?" She was quite amazed. But, why would Master Zenshin need an artificial arm, she had wondered, though that was none of her business. Hika clasped her hands in front of her and stared into space. She had a couple of doubts about this guy since he worked at an illegal weapons dealer but since the guild master personally invited him to be a part of Sabertooth, she brushed her dubious thoughts aside. "Hmm. I see," was all she could manage after a couple of minutes of awkward silence.

Hika turned towards him and stared at him intently, trying to figure out his face. Now, he might think she's weird but she's just being a curious mouse. "Silver, why do you always wear that mask?" She was really fascinated about his appearance but this might came out as a really personal question and she doesn't like intruding other person's privacy. Knowing that, she quickly added, "Uh. It's okay if you don't feel like answering the question. I was just interested, that's all," She gave him a warm smile.

"Forge an artificial arm? You can do that too?" Silvaetus felt as though she was doubting his abilities. So as a demonstration he raised his right arm into the air, concentrating on an old project he once worked on. Within seconds a small box materialized. First one could see the complex cogs that were inside, then the wires and chips before ultimately the container for all of it formed. Having kept in mind that most people did not understand advanced technology all too well he kept it simple and thus the box was actually just a highly secure mini-safe. “My abilities lie within the grasps of technology. Anything that is technological is my domain, my power.” Silvaetus handed the girl the small metallic box “Here. It’s a safe. To open it ,just press your fingers against the lid and it will memorize your fingerprints. Then you and only you will be able to open it. And don’t worry about its sturdiness, you can throw it down from the platform outside and it will remain, like its contents, unscathed.” Not really much of a demonstration, but he didn’t exactly want to demonstrate the effectiveness of one of his chemical bombs…

The mage was genuinely surprised when Hikari asked about his mask. It was not as though he was uncomfortable talking about it, it was just that rather few people dared to ask. “My mask is to serve my own protection. It conceals my identity so that when the time comes I can blend into a crowd just by taking it off.” He turned his head to one side and pointed to a few points on his temple “And to secure it even further I’ve bolted it to my own face. So if anyone tries to remove my mask they would have to tear off my face first.”

Hika raised an eyebrow and stared at the small box in his hand. “Here. It’s a safe. To open it ,just press your fingers against the lid and it will memorize your fingerprints. Then you and only you will be able to open it. And don’t worry about its sturdiness, you can throw it down from the platform outside and it will remain, like its contents, unscathed.” She took the box and twirled it around, investigating it very carefully whilst impressed at the same time. "Whoa. This thing is cool. What does this box do?"

And so, he answered her question about his mask. It was a little creepy yet interesting at the same time. “And to secure it even further I’ve bolted it to my own face. So if anyone tries to remove my mask they would have to tear off my face first.” Hika cringed at the sound of it. Goosebumps climbed up her skin as she straightened herself immediately. "That's ... really scary. I bet it'd hurt like hell." She muttered softly.

"Whoa. This thing is cool. What does this box do?" Silvaetus simply stared blankly. He had no idea how to respond to that question – THAT’S how baffled he was at this girl’s absolute ignorance. He had just said that it was a safe. How much more explicit could you be to describing “Umm…ok…It uh…is a box. In it you can put things.” he said these words very slowly, mockingly in fact “things that are precious to you. You know…a safe…”

"That's ... really scary. I bet it'd hurt like hell." The girl had muttered. “Yes, yes it does. Trust me when I say that people have tried more than once to take off my mask. That’s why the face under this mask is rather unpleasant and, even if you did manage to remove the mask, you wouldn’t want to see what lies underneath. So in a way it sort of protects others from…me.” A few sympathy points were always useful. It wasn’t like the girl could actually look under his mask to reveal his little lie.

“Umm…ok…It uh…is a box. In it you can put things. Things that are precious to you. You know…a safe…” He said the words very slowly as if he was trying to make it very clear. Hika broke into a giggle and scratched her head, embarrassed. She hadn't been paying attention previously and she had made him repeat the same thing twice. "Ah, right, a safe," She managed it out, still chuckling at herself for being so dumb. “Yes, yes it does. Trust me when I say that people have tried more than once to take off my mask. So in a way it sort of protects others from…me.” Hika realised that he's sort of protective about himself, not wanting to let others see his face. At least, she learned something about him. Hika nodded. "Mhm mhm."

Rummaging a bar of chocolate in her package, she took out two bars and handed one to Silva, "Want some?" She took a huge bite from her bar.
