A Chance Encounter [Social - Open]

Eli appeared onto the main platform, several large bags draped all over him. Two in his right hand, 3 on his right shoulder, one on his bag, 4 in his left hand and 1 on his left shoulder, he carried almost every belonging he had to his name on him, outside of what Emilia had brought already. Eli didn't own much; being a traveler made having a lot of stuff difficult and almost impossible. But now that he had somewhere, to at least temporarily, keep his stuff it made it much easier. He took his time across the bridge, once more taking in the astonishing view. It was probably the best part about the guild hall. Entering the main building, he dropped his bags down with a sigh, placing them at the base of a stool. Taking a seat, he took a minute to rest.

'Why am I even moving my stuff in here? It seems like a waste, I'll be taking them out eventually. Well, it's basically just another rented room in theory. Plus, the storage is free at the end of the day. I need to actually get a bed at some point, but how the hell am I gonna get it up here?' Eli's mind was filled with trivial thoughts at the moment, simply trying to figure out how to go about dealing with his rooming. He refused anything outside a room itself from him. He was gonna stay here for free, he'd earn his belongings. He wasn't going to take anything for free. So as of right now, his room was a completely empty white room, with a single chest in it. Now he brought the stuff to fill it up. It was mostly books, alongside various materials for his shows and stationary. 'Then again, what am I gonna do with a bed when I leave? I can't exactly bring that around with me, and who's gonna buy a bed from me? I could maybe store it, but when am I gonna take it out?'

Eli leaned forward, placing both of his elbows on the counter and burying his head in his hands. It was gonna take him a lot of work to just figure out the logistics of the situation. He needed a drink. Reaching across the bar, he poured himself one and took a sip. Placing the bottle next to himself, he began to think about the practicalities he'd have to take care of while living here.

".....I should buy a boat."

Adelheid materialized into the plataform.
Her clothes where ragged and torn in places and burn in others but it didn't bothered her.
The smile on her face was brilliant and wide as the walked into the guild hall.
She took a moment to look at the guild hall the sight was as breath taking as as the first time that she saw it.
She felt proud to be part of it to be part of a organization build over the strong pillars of goodness "selfishness conviction and fate" the three things she had bowed to follow and to found a place where there others like her.

After completing her very first job made her feel proud and knowing that her work would complete a necessary medicine for others was like the cherry in the cake.
She felt so good that she thought that maybe one drink wouldn't be bad.
She sat besides a blond guy that had a bunch of bags in the floor and accidentally caught what he said "really? and for what would you use a boat? " she asked "if you don't mind me asking "

Eli turned to his side, starring at the woman curiously. He had never seen her before, nor had her heard of her. She looked fairly ragged, as if she had decided to take a stroll through a burning building. Then she had picked up a conversation with him. No hello, no greetings of any sort, just sat down and talked as if they had been for hours. This caused a slight confusion in Eli, but also a slight interest. He tilted his head slightly, trying to wrap his head around what exactly had happened. "If I got a boat, then I wouldn't have to worry about moving my belongings when I travel, I could keep them on the boat. It'd also make travelling much simpler, and allow me to go farther distances, albeit at the cost of only being able to visit port cities."

He took another sip of his drink, seriously trying to figure out who this woman was. She was acting fairly relaxed and comfortable, and seemed quite happy about something. Chances were she was another guild member. The combination of her demeanor, appearance, and behavior all completely flipped Eli on his head. He had no idea how to handle it. Through proper behavior and etiquette aside, he decided to be blunt. "Do I know you? If so, my memory seems to be failing me, for I can't place it if I do."

"seems like a good plan if you like traveling a lot " she said pouring herself some wine as she thought about it "no I don't have meet you up until now but I suppose that a little of curiosity is allowed when the person sitting besides you just said out loud that he needed a boat don't you think? " she said extending her left hand offering a shake to him "Adelheid Faustus a pleasure "

Alright, at least he hadn't forgotten her, that was a plus. Seemed like a fairly forward person, picking up conversation before even giving her name. Well, not like it really mattered much at all. Taking her hand, Eli gave her a playful smile. "Eli Validus, the pleasure is all yours."

Turning back to his drink, Eli took a sip before stretching himself out. Cracking his neck, he turned back to Adelheid. "I'm assuming you're a member of the guild as well? Are you a new member or a veteran?" Part of him was thinking it would be rude to ask, but he couldn't help but wonder what had put her in that state. Chances were she had just returned from a mission, but he didn't know. "Also, do you mind if I ask what happened to you? You look like you took a stroll through a forest fire." Chuckling slightly, he turned back to his drink. "Just look at me now. I just met you and all I've done is question you. Sorry about that." Rubbing the back of his neck, Eli turned and gave her an apologetic smile. He wasn't quite sure to make of her, albeit that she was blunt.

"I took a stroll through a forest and set it on fire " she said with a chuckle "don't worry I started the conversation with a question so it's just fair" she said giving him a playful hit in the shoulder "let's see I'm fairy new and just came back from my first job that involved picking flowers "

So wait, he got it right? That was a first, seriously. He took a shot in the dark and good a bulls-eye. The question became now; why did she set a forest on fire? Maybe she wasn't exactly the type of person he wanted to interact with. There wasn't many viable reasons in life to set a forest on fire. Maybe it was an accident? Still, it might not be the best idea to associate with people who start a forest fire by accident. "So, uhhh, how exactly did you set a forest on fire?" Eli said with a concerned look.

A punch tot he shoulder? Great, just like Emilia. He did not need another person like that in his life. He took another swallow of his drink, letting out a heavy sigh. Then the gears started turning in his head; she went to pick flowers, and started a forest fire. "You didn't set the flowers on fire, right?"

"Hey don't get scared is not like I go around setting stuff on fire" she said taking a small sip of her wine "I was looking for a special flower in rather dense forest and suddenly a huge wolf attacked me " she said remembering the whole incident "it was a huge wolf with many scars and the like and... well I don't have anything but fire magic so... I keep the damage to the woods to the minimum actually is not like I set a huge forest fire" she said tapping her finger on the counter "oh yeah what kinds of jobs have you done? sense you asked if I was a veteran I assume you aren't one either"

Alright, so it was more of a consequence of her actions than intention. Alright, that's not that bad then. Still, why would she take a job in a forest as a fire wizard. That didn't seem like the smartest option ever. "I would hope not. It'd probably be more of a problem to yourself if you did that." He took a sip of his drink, letting out a sigh. "You don't need to do that to prove your hot." He let out a small chuckle at his own joke, as bad as it was.

He let out a hum when she asked how many jobs he had done. He hadn't done any, yet. He had lined up some, and was going to leave for them soon. "None yet actually. A have a series of them lined up, I'm going to leave with my team soon. I'm just getting a drink for the road right now." Reaching into his pocket, he pulled a coin out, absentmindedly flipping it in his free hand. "What are you up to, now that you've finished yours?" Eli wasn't very good at small talk, but it was better than nothing right now.

Emilia gave the punching bag in her room a few more good hits. Unlike Eli, she had no qualms over accepting free stuff for her room, and had basically made it a small training gym with a bed. After a quick shower, she put on her casual clothing, black jeans, a red t-shirt, canvas sneakers, and a leather jacket, then stepped out of her room and went to the bar for a drink, her hair still wet. She saw Eli talking with Adel as she walked in. She grinned and walked up to Eli, kicking the bags on the ground. "A bit early to be leaving all your crap laying around the guildhall and trying to hook up with a girl, isn't it?" She turned to Adelheid and held out her hand. "Emilia Crohil, I hope Eli hasn't been trying to pull anything on you yet."

"uh I don't start using my magic if is not necessary actually " she was continuing trying not to frown at the bad pun when she heard a feminine albeit rough voice and saw her.
She was rough looking and seemed not to have manners...but it wasn't bad at all "no we where just talking about the guild and works... my name is Adelheid a pleasure " she said extending her hand to Emilia

Eli let out a sigh when Emilia approached. Good, he had someone he could switch Adelheid's attention to. He had no intention of dealing with both figures right now, so this was a good chance for him to put his stuff away. He finished the rest of his drink, turning to give Emilia a cocky smile and offer the bottle he had poured from to her. "Here Emi, why don't you share a drink with the lovely lady here while I go finish putting my stuff away. I'll have you know I can talk to women without always hitting on them, but if you fear me doing that so much I'll take my leave for a bit." He knew about Emilia's weaknesses to liquor, and hoped that he could get a few drinks in her, it'd be mighty entertaining for him at least, and he knew she'd enjoy herself, the question being if she could remember that afterwards.

Sliding out of his chair, Eli started to gather up his bags. Hopefully this would be a good chance for Emilia to make another friend, as well as prevent himself from gaining another like her. He started to hum a tune as he worked, a rather slow, deep one.

Emilia shook Adelheid's hand roughly, squeezing it tightly as she did for most people before letting it go. "Good! If he does bother you, let me know and I'll beat the shit out of him for you, kay?" She said with a chuckle, then turned to Eli and shook her head. "I know you CAN, but I know that it's what you usually DO. And then you end up getting slapped. I don't like it when girls slap you because beating you up is MY job." She said playfully. "And you know that I don't like whatever the hell it is you drink." She want around the bar to get herself a beer, then sat next to Adel. "So, you new here, too?"

Adelheid shook Emilia's hand with some strength but less than her and smiled at her "don't worry he wasn't flirting instead he seemed to have a room of stuff roaming in his head " she said chuckling and taking another sip from her red wine.
"yeah I'm new and just came back from my first job...picking up flowers turned into fighting wolf... well one wolf but a dam big one...it wasn't what I had in mind but managed to finish it"

"I know. He doesn't actually do it all that often. I just like to tease him." She took a sip of her beer. "Oh really? That sounds like fun. I haven't done any guild jobs yet. Eli and I are hoping to head out soon for a few jobs. Hopefully we'll get to fight stuff." She grinned at the thought of bashing some enemies, maybe vulcans. Emi looked to see that he was gone. "Oh, and word to the wise, don't play cards with Eli."

"Oh don't worry I don't like playing cards" she said dismissing the idea "it was more painful than fun really but succeeding in my job was a great feeling... I was thinking of changing and heading to the next one after storing a couple of spells actually" she said finishing her cup of wine.

"Good. Still you don't want to make any bets with Eli until you've gotten to know him and his methods for a while." She grinned. "Same goes for me." She nodded at Adel's description of the job. "Oh. I always find the pain part of the fun. Not in a masochistic sort of way, just that it's not a true challenge if you don't get touched." She took another sip. "I would go with you, but Eli and I are booked with jobs for a while. You might be able to join us afterwards, though. Up to him, mostly, though. I don't really care who is on the team, as long as they can pull their own weight."

"well yeah without some challenge you don't grow but I would have preferred that N.Y. first job would have been done... cleaner" she said chuckling "you seem like a lot of fun to hang out but remember that a team is there to support each other" she said looking Emilia at the eyes "after all 3 people can do what 1 can't right? "

Emilia smiled. Not many people enjoyed her kind of fun. Maybe she had found another person like her. She shrugged at the team remark. "They may be there to support each other, but if one person can't pull their own weight, then how are they going to be able to help a team? Sometimes more people isn't always better. If you're doing something that requires stealth, one is often better. And don't take me along for one of those. I don't do stealth." She said with a grin.

"scissors only cut used the right way right? sometimes is just a question to put the right person in the right job" she said shrugging "we are all mages of Saber Tooth so I assume that everyone has their forte" she said pouring a little more of wine in her cup "for example I'm not great at protecting or capturing and disastrous if put close to explosives but if you need to flame a problem away I'm your gal on the other hand from your nose your armor and your obvious self confidence I would say that you are more into physical combat and really good at it "

Emilia grinned at Adel. "Good guess. I love a good brawl. You ever need something broken or smashed, I'm your girl. Need someone to protect you? That's me. Need a bouncer? I'll do that." She chuckled. On her off time, she loved being a bouncer. Getting paid to throw drunk people out of bars. "Still, you occasionally will get those people who are completely useless in a fight. But Eli should be able to identify those ones and not let them join."

"haha I will call your services when your are not bussy Neptune knows I'm more useful with someone to protect me while I chant" she said playfully punching her shoulder "but going into those that can't brawl or explode things let me tell you about a person I meet in my travels if "it" is still as successful you shouldn't know a about it " she said drinking a little more "this "person" had developed a constant spell to hide "its" aura and I don't know if it had more but it only used 3 spells when I was partnering with "it" for a thieves cleaning job those spells where 1 being able to transform into anytime... without actually wining it's properties he could transform let's say into a rock externally but while it looked like a rock you could stab it like flesh and kill "it" 2 the ability to reduce itself to like 1-2 inches while conserving it's normal speed/strength and finally the ability to project ultra realistic illusions " she finished before taking a super of her wine "pretty lame right?  seems like a combo to run the hell away from anything... and then on the first day "it" took out  like half a camp of thieves by itself and when we finished the job he said "all I need is a knife and an opportunity...well and my trusty poison" she finished her cup "I still shiver...lesson learned was...weaklings can kill you with good tricks and that well used any ability is a plus and that even those that look useless at first sigh can be only lacking in the "being used the right way"

"Actually, all of that stuff sounded pretty useful in a fight. You could easily set up traps and ambushes. Sneak up behind occupied enemies and catch them by surprise. Good hit-and-run potential. And assassination skills, like you said. I did also misspeak a bit, I meant people who weren't useful on a job." She leaned back in her chair. "Like me for instance, there is no way in hell I would go on a stealth mission. I wouldn't want that thing on a mission that involved straight up fighting without the opportunity for stealth, at least not when I have other options available that are better for open combat. I wouldn't want you or Eli accompanying me on a fight that involves close quarters combat either. Since you don't seem to do too well with that, and Eli thinks he can dodge everything and refuses to wear armor." She grinned. "And don't think I don't know how to pull tricks to beat people who are stronger than you. I know all about it as one who follows the philosophy of cheater being a fancy word for winner."

"haha you got me me when you say fight I assumed a brawl etc. " she said with a smile "I'm not THAT bad with hand on hand... I just don't prefer it " she said looking at her cup that was empty again and resolved not to fill it "it is interesting to find someone as practical and... well sincere in the "nope I can't or I don't wanna do this " way"

Emi shook her head. "There's more to fighting than brawls, those are just my favorite. She grinned. "I'm competitive and like to be the best at what I do. So I do whatever I can, and become the best at it, ignoring all the stuff I can't do. Fighting is one of those things, and to me, fighting is sort of the ultimate competition. It can have the most to gain from winning, and the most to lose from losing."
