Hunter goes Gardening (a wizards grace)

The forest was laying silently in the valley as an orange light shined through the trees of the forest from the setting sun. Most animals were hasting themselves to their nest to go sleep. While night animals were starting to wake up. In all this business there was a slight disturbance in the forest. A Man was walking through the forest. His steps were nearly not heard on the forest ground which was covered in leaves and branches. This pointed that this man was an experienced hunter. But this man didn’t seem to be hunting today as his gaze was aimed at a point further out of the forest. This man was called Pein and was on his way to his first job ever in fiore. He was wearing some loose cloth pants in black and a tight black shirt. On his shoulders a white coat was waving in the wind only being held in place by their tight grip. Hmm it’s my first time in these parts but it smells great. Tough no worthy prey in the area. He needed the money from the job to keep hunting on big prey. As he mostly kept that prey to himself he never earned money out of it.

Well it was not like it would be that difficult. It were probably some farmers that were scared by a couple of bandits so they could steal their crops. Ah well it was a good practice for his sword. Pein was leaving the forest and entering the premises of the farmlands that were surrounding bean stalk village. which was not that far from the place he was as there were huge bean stalks coming out of the ground and touching the heavens or even go into the clouds. As he was watching up he had to put his hands above his eye’s to stop the stinging rays of the setting sun to blind him. He enjoyed the view for a second while he started to walk forwards again. The fields were laying calmly around him tough the plant’s seemed to be rather bad looking. There does seem to be a plague going around here. As he was crouching to inspect some plants. There leaves were turned all brown and an evil presence was coming from them. Around him plants started to crunch as roots were pulled out of the ground. Around five corn plants had come to live and were slowly crawling to his place with their roots as feet and legs.

'Monster Dice' :

Pein relaxed back as he stood up. These slow plants wouldn’t be that much of a problem. He slowly unsheathed his blade the red fate from his sheath. The handle of the sword was covered in a white cloth bound around it. The blade was as long as an normal katana. But on the blades blade there were all runes written going up in a line to the edge of the sword. These were the then commands he followed. Once the blade was out he swung it to one side and it cached a white fire around the blade. This fire was more of a show than anything else. But it would scare the plant’s a little bit he thought. Pretty much a mistake on his part tough. As the moment he draw his sword a corn rammed his way. But pein was too quick for the plant and spin around his ass as he walked to the side. The corn passed quickly and missed pein on a hair. A flash of light was seen as he passed by. A second after that the corn had stopped the top of its head fell off. “now plants let me slowly cut you up”, pein grinned they wouldn’t feel pain but it would be fun.

Another plant charged in but this time he didn’t had enough time to dodge so he put his sword up and blocked the plant from hitting his body. Pein was pushed back by the sheer force of the charge. A dust cloud a raised from his feet scraping the ground. he pulled his blade back and then made a fast cut up to try to hit the plant but he could just block in time with his leaves. Pein was surprised that the leaves could block a blade like his. That surprise was also his first mistake. That split second he was open a corn planted against his side and pein was catapulted to the left. He rolled over the ground but put his blade in the ground to swing back up. The corn next to him that suddenly appeared jumped up to body slam pein. He rolled to the side and slashed the roots of the plant off. The plant planted it’s face in to the ground and rolled further. The plant’s didn’t give a him a moment of respite as a another plant attacked him. Pein blacked and tried to cut off a part but got always blocked by the attacks. He felt pressure in his back as he got pushed to the ground by a another body slame.

Pein breath was slammed out of his chest as he kissed the ground. H quickly rolled to the side and got up to stop another body slam by blocking it and pushing him away. He tried to hit the corn but his sword slashed through the air. He jumped up and made a spin the air as another corn flew past him. He landed behind the corn that he chopped its top of its head off. The corn went into a fury as he saw pein again. First trying to body slam and then slashing with its roots. But in its rage his attacks where predictable. He easily could block them with his sword. After the flurry of attacks he saw an opening in the somewhat exhausted. Pein slashed his sword to the right but just before it would hit he changed the course and went up. Hitting the corn over the lengths of it body. Right after that he turned around fell on a knee and pushed his blade into the middle of the plants body inside. The corn made a kind of shrieking sound as it burned up to nothingness. The demon was slayed. One down four to go, he thought by himself and smiled.

Pein started to hop light footed like a boxer when the next attack came. He pushed his word to the side and in the ground to stop the charge of the corn demon and get a better position. He then used the sword as a pole to jump over the corn and dodge the next charge of another corn. He slashed a leave from the corn and landed behind it. He didn’t had tome to slash another time as the plant head butted to the back. Pein blocked it with his non sword arm and jumped slightly back. One of the corns jumped up and started to spin around. The grain on the corn came loose and where shot forward at a staggering speed. But the plant was already too late as he charged forward just out of reach of the bullet like grain shots. He jumped up by using another corn as his step up. When he reached the corn hovering in the air. He spins around and planted his foot into the corn sending it to the ground. it crashed in the ground as a rocket. Pein landed in the dust cloud left by it and quickly blocked another charge.

“common plant’s is that the best you can do”, he said while grinning. He bowed before them. “I am honoured to fight you. As I can make nice popcorn of you all.”, pein added laughingly. But apparently there was one corn that kept his self to the side line as he didn’t notice this one before. A corn a bit bigger than the rest and completely red with a face made in the corn with missing grain. Pein notices a slightly different sense from this one. The plant did motions to the other plants and not long after they started to charge. He could block the first one from in front of him. But the attacks that came at the same tame form different directions. He cursed as eh backed away too late. The three other plants all collided on him the same time. Pein felt his bone’s crush under the pressure. He made a grimace of pain as he fell on the ground when the  corn backed off to attack again. He was breathing heavily as he got up from the recent hit. It seems that red one with the menacing face is the leader of this group. I gone a have to take him out first or I’ll be in trouble.

Pein slashed his sword around slowly to feel if it did any real damage. His arm was pretty okay but it did have a slight pain when he twisted it to far. Anyway he couldn’t lose attention to much or they would over power him. Two of the corns made notice of his standing still and started to charge forwards. Time of play was over and he crouched down. The second the corns would collide he jumped up. The spirit of a kangaroo started to surround him as he was hanging in the air. The corns collided under him and a dust cloud arises as they damaged each other. he targeted in front of the red corn and crashed down to it. He crash landed right in front of it. The ground under his feet cracked from the impact. The moment he hit the ground he jumped for ward and slashed the red corn. To the corn it was like the kangaroo jumped forward and hit him right in the face. He then jumped to the left and slashed the head off. The demon inside was screaming as he was starting to dissolve. But before that was done he kicked the corns head into the other two corns o were still dazed from there collision.

They started to shout as they dissolved back to their demon world. The last corn started to run as it got scared to fight. Pein started to run after the corn. The corn was still wounded from the slashes pein got to it as it was way too slow to escape him. He started to sprint a little bit faster and then jumped down on the ground. but instead of falling he made a move to slide over the ground. as he slides fast past the corn it got cut in two from the katana that he stuck out to the side. Pein got up as the corn screamed and disappeared again. “that’s what they call a mowing end.”, he said as he laughed at his own joke. Seems the fighting was over just yet as another group of corn started to break out of the grounds. They slowly got up as the darkness stetted in the beginning of the night. this was going to be a long night. he smiled as he watched their movements closely. Both sides were waiting for the other side to make the first move. The tension could be felt in the air. Who’s nerves would break first and make a mistake.

'Monster Dice' :

The first move was made by a corn that jumped forward and tried to jump up to belly flop flat on pein. But that was pretty predictable so he rolled under it and slashed the plant as he came up. It then tried to hit him with his roots as they jumped from out the ground. he could cut down some of the roots but a couple came through and hit him. His leg was bleeding from the cuts the roots gave him. He started to run to the side way. The other corns waited there turn as they din’t want to repeat the same mistake as the last group. Pein did a fake move to the right and went left instea. The roots popped out on his right clearly missing him. He went in and slashes two times fast before the plant could react. It disappeared as he ran to his next target. He was about to slash when he got bashed from the right. He flew a couple of meters back but rolled further to the next target. He hitted it once during the roll. Jumped up dodged the grains it shot off and while it was vulnerable he slashed then turned around and stabbed trough the middle.

Pein didn’t waste any time and started to run to his next target. He jumped over a body slam corn and slashed it two times before landing behind it . he spun around and gave the last hit to kill it off. The two others were coming closer now to hit him. They were both charging it was impossible to dodge both of them at this range. He quickly turned his sword behind him and the handle to the first charging corn. After a split second he charges himself toward the corn. The spirit of a running ram comes over him. While the other corn flies past them he and the other corn collide. The power of both charges neutralize each other. but now pein is close enough he cuts off the down side of the corn and the spins around to slash it from the top to the bottom and slashes s another time to finish it off. He turns around and blocks just in time to stop the other corn from charging. He flies a little bit back. Dodging a root flying his way he jumps under it and slashes the plant. He then turns around to slash it another time. He ends up rolling under a head but to kill it off with a jump up slash.

'Monster Dice' :

Pein was breathing heavenly as yet another group of corn was standing up. This was getting tire some. Btu if he kept fighting them the big guy comes out maybe to be killed. It was time to throw his magic a little bit more In the battle to finish them faster off. The corn were still rising from the ground so pein took this time to at least kill one off before it came above. He pointed his sword to the enemy and then started to slash to the enemy. Three ants flew out of the sword and hit the corn right in the face destroying it before it came out. He ran fast to the next one as they just emerged from the ground. He dodged the first attack from the corn and slashed in passing. While he spins around and slashed to the next corn hitting it to. One of the corn started to rattle to shoot it seeds off again. But pein kicked the closed corn in front of the spell too block it. The corn got heavy hit by the spell and pein punched his sword trough it to finish it off. On of the corns shot out vines and grabbed peins sword arm and started to pull him closer.

Pein let his struggle calm down and got pulled very close by the corn. Eh then punched it with his free hand. He then grabbed the vein to pull the enemy back and punched it another time. Before he finished it off he started to spin around with the plant. Just before he was starting to spin he let it loose and hit another corn right in the face with the throw. He jumped back as a belly flop landed again next to him. He slashed it two times and when it stood up he kicked it away while it got destroyed in the process. He blocked a head but from behind him by swing his sword as a shield again in his back. He had fought enough of these plants to get the feel of there fighting. He jumped a back roll and slashed the plant behind him. When he landed he stabbed through it and then grabbed it’s head. He then knocked the corn against his knee destroying another demon. He stepped side and the other corn passed him. But pein had set his foot in the way so the corn tripped over it and fell on its face. He then stabbed it hard in the corns head and twisted his blade another time just in case.

Pein let out a sight of relieve as the last demon from the group was slain. He whipped the sweat of his face. These demons may be low but damn where they strong. He wondered how many more would come as this would eventually tire him out completely. He checked his wounds in this precious pause of fighting. It seems he was not to badly hit. Only some small cuts and some bruises. His ears perked up and his tail started to waggle as he heard voices coming. He turned around and a bunch of tomato’s where walking towards him. They had small vines as legs and two leaves represented eye’s it seems. “Hai you small kitty cat. You hurt our friends you basterd.” , one of the tomatoes shouted. “time to cut that tail off I say boys.”, the other one said and they all started laughing. Pein laid his sword on his shoulder and looked at the bunch of tomatoes that were storming his way. great there not even bigger than a dog and they think they can get to me. “now now tomatoes just stay still and let me make salad of you”, he said calmly.

Pein throws his sword in between two demons. As they look back to see why he did it he grabbed them and slammed each other against each other. he then used them to push himself off and landed on his hands near his sword. He pulled it out as he jumped up. Slashing the two tomatoes in pieces. There were still eight left to be fought. They were greater in number but they were weaker and slower. Pein was dodging as much of the tomato attacks as he could. But he wouldn’t keep this up all the time he had to counter attack. He dodged another body flip and then slashed his sword to the nearest tomato as he spin around without even checking to hit the next tomato. But in his running he got hit by a tomato and gets hit to the side. He rolled over the ground and his blade flew out of his hands for a couple of meters. Dammed that is the worst mistake that could happen in a fight. A tomato tried to belly flip on pein but he kicked it away. He rolled to his sword but a tomato tried to pick it up.

“Oh no you won’t!”, pein shouted. He kicked the tomato away like a rugby ball and it splatted open on the three. He took his sword and turned around to be hit by two ketchup streams throwing him against the three. The pressure was nearly enough to break his ribs. He tried to bring his sword between the stream and his body. But he was barely able to move his arms. It didn’t last to long tough since the demons were not that strong. Pein fell on his knees but had not that long time to recover as the demons were on their way to attack him. Breathing hurt him but it didn’t feel that anything vital was hit. He stood up and resumed his sword stance to defend himself from the incoming attack. One of the tomato charged forward to ram him. But pein stepped just in time to the left to dodge him. He grunted as this movement did hurt him a bit. As the tomato splashed against the tree he jumped forward and rolled under the vein attack of the other tomato. He didn’t come out the way he really wanted but it was good enough to slash the tomato dead.
