A wizards grace ( Daichi Bahadur )

It was a calm and quite afternoon, the sun was hanging low in the sky. Daichi could feel the warm glow covering him from head to tow, while he walked along the dirt path towards the farming village know as beanstalk village. Slowly advancing along the path Daichi regretted more and more having chosen to wear his normal black formfitting suit. Walking all day under a near spotless sky, he could feel himself on the verge of perspiring, a bodily function he wholly wanted to avoid. However having spent 4 hours making sure that everything was just right, he decided against trying to remove parts of his suit.
Daichi could see the village just beyond the horizon, he slowed his pace even further. what used to be a simple collection of wheat and corn fields, had turned sinister. the closer he got to the village the worse the situation seemed to get. the crops glowed with a eerie aura, each of which seemed to be growing into something else, or withering away completely. some even appeared to have small bite marks missing from them. Daichi knew that something was wrong with the crops, but in a village without a single magic user, there was a strong possibility that nothing mystical happening to their crops. But that was obviously to much to hope for, well at least the information given with the job application seemed to be truthful so far. Standing completely still for a moment, Daichi took a moment to listen to the wind blowing through the fields, making the crops creak and shake in it's wake.
A minute later and Daichi could hear another sound, almost like digging, it was at this moment that he realized, the air was still, and not moving there was no wind, and something was moving within the crops, in fact a lot of somethings appeared to be moving right towards him.

Daichi began to tense up, lowering himself into a battle ready stance. He didn't know what was coming, but he wasn't about to let whatever it was get the better of him. Stealing himself for combat, he began to count, making note of how many paths in the field were moving towards him. Counting three, he knew there had to be at least that many possible enemies heading his way. The closest of which was just about to break out from what looked like a particularly dense patch of thorns. just a few more seconds and it will be on me, was the thought going through Daichis mind. When his left foot was raised of the floor, Daichi looked down at his while simultaneously lifting his foot, to see what was there. A particularly large corn cob, had just popped out of the ground underneath his foot, it almost looked cute, with tiny little white arms, and what looked like 2 eyes. Daichi placed his foot back down on the ground, and dropped lower, out of his combat stance to investigate the half buried corn in the floor. The plant/creature appeared to be unconscious, probably as a result of coming out of the ground and hitting his foot en-route. It's eye's suddenly burst open, a deep red glow, piercing into the depths of Daichi's eye's, it had begun to move it's tiny little white arms in preparation to force it's way out.
