I've been avidly watching Fairy tail for quite a while, unfortunately I was introduced to it in dubbed and I unfortunately cannot switch since it doesn't feel right at all. I began working up a character in my mind that I really wanted to play and I rarely get to play an rp as a character since I usually game master. This is the magic I put together, it is somewhat like takeover magic except instead capturing a beast and taking on it's physical attributes in taps into the feral abilities that lie dormant within humans. Hid it in the spoiler to save space since I thought that would be the right thing to do.
- Feral magic:
- Magic
Primary Magic: Feral Magic
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: Feral Magic is sort of like takeover magic except taking on the aspect of a specific creature it instead allows the user to tap into the feral ability and power of the human mind and body enhancing their physical attributes and some of their mental aspects. Users of this magic are told to be capable of going head to head with demons using only their body and not casting any visible spells while unleashing devastating strength and speed that should rip humans apart if they were to use it. Those capable of this magic are described as animalistic in nature and when they start tapping into the magic itself they become a mere of shadow of their former psyche.
However this magic has severe flaws and require a great deal of will power in order to not allow the body to slip into a full feral frenzy. Even though the user is granted immensely boosted physical capabilities it does come with a price, as they tap more into the feral beings that lie deep within they become more animal like in mind only, some have become animal like in appearance which has no real quantifiable evidence towards this rumour. Most users who fall too deep into their feral minds become lost and this usually results in death either by over exhaustion or being killed by something else. Users of this magic tend to hold high regard for life and use the magic only when necessary to defend themselves or others from death as taking on the feral aspects can be extremely taxing to control even for a master of this art.
Strengths:
-+Enhancement - Enhances the users own capabilities
-+High damage close range - User can only attack in melee combat but has high damage output with this limitation.
-+Endurance - This magic type greatly increases the users own physical endurance. +5% bonus MP total.
Weaknesses:
-+Endurance - This magic can be physically taxing regardless of the users boosted endurance. The user uses an additional 1 mp with every attack
-+Mind Affecting Magic - Casters who can affect this casters mental state or thought pattern can interrupt the casters focus causing them to slip into the full feral rage.
-+Personal Willpower - To utilize this magic to it's full potential requires the user to focus greatly on not slipping too far lest they lose control of their own body and become a beast.
-+High Stress - This magic causes severe stress on both mind and body, using any spell immediately causes the user to lose 1 mp for every post
Abilities/Powers: Enhanced sensory abilities (passive 25% above human/activated 50% human capabilities), enhanced strength, speed and durability (passive 25% above human/activated 50% human capabilities), enhanced instinctive processing (passive 25% above human/activated 50% human capabilities).
Name: Feral Tap
Rank: D
Type: Enhancement
Description: The user takes on minimal feral aspects only increasing their capabilities minimally.
Casting the spell requires no words or actions only a mental trigger to tap into their feral mind, when tapping in their is a noticeable difference in the behaviour of the caster as they take on a more animal like stance and showing their teeth and growling like a beast when they speak. The user can use this spell so long as they have the energy to use it, They can slip in and out of the form but each subsequent change of mindset causes the mental focus to become greater each time, unless they have taken a 20 post break longer than their in spell duration from the spell. This spell requires the user to maintain mental concentration to not allow themselves to slip too far into the spell lest they be lost resulting in catastrophic results for both user and those around it.
Strengths:
-+ Enhancement - This spell enhances the users Strength, Speed and Durabilty by 100%
-+ Lasts until user releases the spell - uses 5mp per post.
-+ Can be used repeatedly - this spell can be activated and deactivated atwill.
Weaknesses:
-+Require more focus each change increasing mana cost to maintain the spell - the spell uses 1mp per post extra each activation unless a 20 post rest period longer than in spell is taken
-+Mind altering magic may cause user to lose focus and slip too far into the spell - Any mind altering spell that can cause the casters focus to falter costs an extra 1mp to maintain focus and a dice roll to maintain a sound mind, roll 3d6 and add the result together, on a 3-10 the caster maintains control, on a 11-16 the caster has to use 5 mp to not go feral but slips out of the spell. On a 17&18 the caster goes feral.
-+May not recognize friend from foe in some cases as the user is not quite adept at the spell - At any point the caster may deem a friend their foe if they become aggressive towards the caster.
-+Physically taxing to use -vany additional post past 3 requires an additional 1 mp, anypost past 6 requires an additional 1 mp and so on and so forth.
