“God knows how many times I’ve avoided this place before. And yet…..here I am now.” A young blue haired woman mumbled to herself as she traversed the crowd in Rose Garden. She had short blue hair, and an eyepatch over her left eye. But the most interesting thing about her had to be the fact that she was wearing a maid’s uniform, wearing blue gloves to cover her hands. If you noticed her walk, it was elegant and graceful, as if she was bred to walk like a noble her entire life. And if you made that guess, you’d be correct. Because this was no normal maid at all.
This was Lucille Grove. A fairly new mage, one that had joined the dark guild Tartarus. However, she hadn’t yet made it known to the world that she was indeed a dark mage, rather having to keep that a secret so she wasn’t hunted down like a dog by the Magic Council until she grew in strength. Lucille had been briefed that much by her mentor already, being told that until she made allies with someone she would be on her own against the entire world. Tartarus was the perfect place for someone like her, it was where the man who set her on this glorious path resided and they were very like minded people with how the world should be. Tartarus was definitely going to be a place where she flourished, and one where her name would be etched in stone along with the other great dark mages of time.
Just the thought made her smile slightly, which confused some of the passing people around her.
Lucille’s face grew back to one of a determined woman, who was indeed completing a serious mission. Which was exactly what she was here for, to complete a small mission she had set out for. Fiore had open borders, which meant that other countries were fair game for her to go to whenever she needed. The only problem was that she needed a passport. One that legal mages could acquire with ease, but a dark mage would have to get by….other means. Her own plan was simple enough, use a mage’s identity that had already been registered and claim she was getting a new one since she had changed her appearance. The tricky part was finding a mage who could be the scapegoat she used, and it took time to find one that probably wouldn’t catch on immediately. But she had found the perfect one.
Kara Matheson.
The girl was a member of LS, but she hadn’t done much of anything relevant recently. She also had her own passport that she had gotten over a year ago, which made things easier for Lucille. She would just pretend to be an older and slightly different Kara, which shouldn’t be too hard since the girl had barely been noticed outside of her guild. Lucille was confident that she would be able to get away with this, if only for a short amount of time. This was the perfect timing for the entire plan, and nothing could go wrong. Finally reaching the line for passports, which was fairly short, Lucille smiled softly and hummed to herself quietly.
“Hey babe. What’s a hottie like you doing here?” A disgusting, at least to her ears, and rude voice asked Lucille. The blue haired ex-noble turned her head and spotted a fairly normal, pretty boy like man standing behind her. He was giving her a lust filled stare, but there was no way the Tartarus mage would want any of that. She scoffed and turned around, obviously unamused by the man’s attempts to flirt with her. She heard him growl, and attempt to grab her arm in order to make her pay attention to him. Lucille batted his hand away, and turned her on heel to give him a deadly glare.
“Listen…..fool.” Her voice was harsh and held no warmth in it at all. “I do not have time to play games with you at the moment. I want to simply get my passport and go home.” The Tartarus member turned back on her heel and continued to move forward in line, ignoring the now steaming mad blonde male.
After about 10 long agonizing minutes, the ex-Grove heiress made it to the front of the line. There was a rune knight on duty who scrutinized her before asking for her name. “Kara Matheson. Lamia Scale mage. Here to request a more updated passport…..sir” Lucille’s voice was different than when she spoke to the blonde male. It held respect and warmth, seemingly taking this man more seriously than the guy she had deemed trash.
“Show us your guild mark.” The knight requested, to which Lucille remove her slightly long right glove to showcase a Lamia Scale guild mark. In purple. The dark mage was actually proud of her contacts being able to give her fake tattoos and such, as this was the perfect time for that. The knight nodded his head and told her to get ready to take the picture.
One minute later, and Lucille had her passport. The ex-noble smiled and thanked the knight for his assistance, with him telling her she was welcome. Lucille walked away, her face changing from a smile to a cold neutral look. Her eyes panned to her right, noticing the blonde man watching her walk away with a frown on his face. The bluenette knew what was to be done. He was going to follow her.
Right to his doom.
Later that night.
Rose Garden was especially busy today. Not many people could be distinguished, especially a blonde male that had been stealthily following a blue haired woman in a maid uniform. The man thought she hadn’t noticed him at all, with how carefree her walk seemed to be. She turned into a random alley, and the man chuckled at his luck. No one would be able to hear her over the noise and hustle. The blonde male followed her into the alley, which led to a dead end. But when he searched around the alley, the blue haired girl was nowhere to be found.
“The f-” Suddenly, something wrapped around his neck tight and constricted his breathing. He struggled hard against the slender yet strong arms, but it was all for naught as he eventually lost consciousness. The person holding him made one quick movement with their arms, and ended the poor man’s life quickly. The body dropped like a sack of potatoes, and the assailant quickly melded back into the crowd.
“Perfect.”
