    Job Description:

Another troublesome task. But Lyserg could feel his limits getting lifted and the payment was good. Finding himself within the realm of the small Peace Village again, he glanced around. Everything stood as he remembered. He was even able to recognize the people again. But he had to be careful not to walk into the old lady that had given him the task to find the book last time. If she would visualize his appearance once more, the empty parts of her timeline that had entangled with his would fill up with the lost information once more, and his anonymity would be lost. Lyserg had to constantly be on the watch because of such things. It was difficult to constantly stay undercover without anyone noticing you. And coming back to this city seemed dangerous in itself, but the payment for this assignment was more than on any of his others, and it was simply too easy to ignore.

As night time hit the village, Lyserg started to get active. He had been sitting in the village outskirts for a while now, contemplating existence and life. There were, as so often, no significant results to his thoughts. Yet, he never failed to use moments of tranquility to move himself into a state of meditation and deep thought. But as he never failed to lose awareness of his surroundings, Lyserg didn't forget time as he was sitting, watching the sun set. He never forgot time. It would be the greatest of ironies if he did. And he disliked irony. Sarcasm, cynicism all together. They blended together to form the world view of someone who wanted to get away from reality. But Lyserg, he wanted to face it at its core. Change it, shape it to his advantage. He wanted to become a god. Too many thoughts, too much passion overtook him, and Lyserg clicked his tongue. He silently swept through the city and he neared to the house he was supposed to break in.

It was a small house. Just yesterday, he had spoken with his client. A petty excuse for a man, who wanted to steal a recipe. But Lyserg couldn't care less as long as the payment was as good as he had promised. Moving up the stairs, he now stood right in front of the home. It was a small, wooden door with glass inlays. Easy to shatter, and with a swift rattle of his hand, the weak lock broke and allowed Lyserg to enter. Inside, it was quite cramped. Locking the door behind him, Lyserg used his "Hand der Zeit" to fix the lock again and closed the door. Lurking around now, he traced the surroundings. Not knowing, where the recipe would be kept, he had to conduct a search for the next few minutes and always use "Hand der Zeit" to reconstitute the position of things as they were before. It would take a while, but Lyserg was confident that with his deduction it wouldn't take too long.

He had been told that the owner of the recipe was a glutton. A man that loved eating more than his own life and the people in it. He would literally murder to find a new taste. So where would such a man keep recipes of utmost important? A social outcast and slouch was likely to stay in his room a lot, going about unnecessary and trivial activities while he wasn't working. So moving upstairs, after Lyserg had skimmed the living room and kitchen, he entered the owner's bed room. It was a gargantuan mess. It reeked of sweat for weeks and there was barely any clean clothing. Moving around, Lyserg gently burrowed through the masses of clothes and used dishes to lift his mattress. It was likely fate, that granted Lyserg this wonder. His prediction was correct, the owner of this house was clearly a simpleton of the highest degree. Using pen and paper, he started to copy the five recipes that were currently stored in the small casket under his mattress.

After he was finished, Lyserg used "Hand der Zeit" one last time to move everything as it were, and quickly hasted out of the house. In the quiet night once more, he then swept through the streets. His client was supposedly waiting in the very outskirts of this town. After a walk of about thirty minutes, he was finally at a distance which Lyserg deemed to be the distance his client had mentioned. Waiting for another hour, a small carriage then approached. At around one in the morning, this was truly an astounding phenomenon, but Lyserg's assumption would prove him right. Stopping right at his location, his client, a tall, yet thin and brittle man stepped out. With a sheepish grin, he asked if Lyserg had the recipe. Nodding, he got out the pack of notes he had made and explained that he didn't want to actually steal the piece of paper, since such a thing would attract attention after a while. His client reluctantly accepted, being somewhat suspicious. But Lyserg's quick words and swift movements grappled the pack of bills that his client was toying with and went off, using Rift to make his client forget about his appearance.
