- Beautiful; Just brilliantly done. The fire's burning around him, sending crinkling ash into the sky. Buildings crumbled around as he stood there, before a cowering child. Alakai was taller, more powerful, and his body faded off into the night. His perfect form, his Reaper Soul; it was what drove him into madness. The sniveling brat cried as it tried to crawl away from him, snot running down his nose, and blood mixing into his eyes. Where did he plan on running to? There was no place safe, the entire village was in ruins, people scattered, and most dead. The whole peaceful town, now burned with the stench of blood and smoke. Just hours ago, it was a quiet and simple village, built around the ideals of peace and fairness. Not one mage lived in the town strong enough to stop him, heck, there was not even one mage in the town at all! When Alakai arrived, he roamed the streets, glancing at the happy smiling faces, unbeknownst to the events that were about to occur. This was a perfect place for his sacrifices; the Reaper within him craved the essence of life, and in return, gave him unbelievable power.
It all started a long long time ago, when Alakai was barely 12 years of age. Beginning on the night he made the deal, and gave a Demon his soul, along with 12 other innocent lives. He could still feel the warmth of the blood on his hands, and the darkness in his heart. Screams could be heard in the distance as he traversed the steps up to his own home. His parents slept in their beds, and they looked so content, even with Alakai standing right there. However, someone was awake, and stood in the doorway to his parents bedroom. Kariline, his little sister, the one person in the whole world who didn't mock him, or doubt him. She constantly was picking him back up and filling him with faith. Alakai just walked over to her baby sister, who was frightened at the fluid on his stained hands. " Just go back to sleep okay," He said, giving his sister one last hug.
That last embrace would haunt his conscious for the rest of his life, and as he stood there in front of this child, Alakai couldn't help but picture his sister's face. Painful thoughts filled his mind, and in frustration he reached out his bony hand, and sent of a wave of Dark Energy that skewered the boy. His screaming ended instantly and he hung still, as Alakai reversed back to his human form. The suite he wore, still clean and fresh as when he walked into the village, his cloak waving in the wind behind him. Alakai carried no weapons, he didn't need to; Alone, he created this disaster and changed the lives of every living person. That is, if any survived at all. Fire's burned, buildings fell, and screams died out, all that was left, was the calming sound of the crackling embers.
