The Hunt (BloodCakedFlame and IzzyxD)

Akire stood on the bow of the ship headed to the village of Frostfire for a job. It was getting colder as the boat neared the shore. The frozen land was as beautiful as it was deadly. With many people dying from ill preparation from frostbite. he had managed to not only scrounge up some clothes for the trip but find a partner to go along with him. Though their contact just relayed the message that they'd meet up later he wasn't too confident in their abilities cause he hasn't met them yet. That he knew of any way. He shrugged to himself as he disembarked from the boat, snow crunching underfoot he checked the job paper that he grabbed. Pulling his jacket a little tighter he waited for his "partner" to show up.

Victoria walked towards the Frostfire village, a bored expression on her face. It had been a week or so since she left Sabertooth, but she was feeling free, alas, it was incredibly hard to find jobs. It's not like she was running low on money. She had enough money to make an airship with it, but she was bored. Staying in her house at Mount Hakobe for too much was annoying her to death. She took out the message she had recieved from her job partner. It seemed that he was guildless like her, but he had managed to throw his hands over an International Job. She sighed and finally saw a figure of a man waiting for her in front of the Village. She walked to him with ease and inspected him. He had Gray black curly hair, which was kept short, giving the curls a spikey appearance. Thanks to her sharper sense of sight, she was able to see that his eyes were green. She mantained her face neutral as she walked to him.
'' Hello. I am Victoria Hunter, Thunder God Slayer. I suppose you are my job partner, aye?'' She said, stretching out her hand, waiting for the response of the boy in front of her.
Well, it was a bit hard to say boy, considering he looked a tad bit older than Victoria. Maybe he was around 20, 22, maybe, but not much older. He must be either 2 or 4 years older than the Thunder Goddess, and she was asking herself what magic he had anf if he was stronger than her.

Akire had waited for the partner he agreed to meet him. He watched a girl with scarlet red hair and sapphire blue eyes looked him over. He guessed he passed cause she offered a hand and introduced herself as the thunder god slayer. he took the hand and shook it. "Akire. Akire Ishigami." he said then shrugging answered "I guess so." he said looking up at the snow covered lands. "Gonna be a long walk. might as well start while we can still see." he said making his way toward the village. He didn't know how long days and nights lasted on this massive block of ice but he didn't want to be caught in both the cold AND the dark, those two generally didn't mix well.

Victoria enjoyed the darkness around her, being the Shadow Dragon Slayer as well. She walked alongside Akire towards the village, where they'd meet the leader of the clan or whatever it is and talk to him about the problem that needs to be solved. Everything around was covered in ice and snow, and Victoria could catch a glimpse of Buria, her pet, playing in the snow every now and then. However, whenever the Byakko noticed that he was being watched, he regained his serious self. Victoria just shooke her head and continued walking. In half of an hour, they were already in front of the leader of the village. Without spending a lot of time, he told them that they need to bring 30 carcasses back to the town. It seemed pretty easy, so Victoria and Akire began walking outside already in order to finish all of this quick.
It was incredibly cold outside, and whoever came without being properly dressed would die in the cold. It's not like Victoria got bothered, though. She just remained walking, hands in her pockets. She looked around and whistled. '' Man, it's gonna be hard finding some monsters and getting carcasses. I don't see more than snow around.'' She said. Buria growled in order to confirm his mistress' words. Victoria let her left hand fall down and petted Buria, then continued walking. The path before them seemed to be indicated already by something, but she was sure it was pure coincidence, and that, in a second, it'd end. And she was right.

Akire made it to the village, at first people avoided the two mages. As they made their way to the hut they were greeted by the leader who was reluctant to speak to them. The village had decided that if they had 30 more carcasses they could make it work. So Akire nodded as him and Victoria walked out. He heard her talk about the lack of game to be hunting in this area, simply responding with "Well it is close to the village. It makes sense that it would be hunted of game."
Akire looked around, he really couldn't see anything in this snow and that was a bit of a pain. So he took his steps a bit more cautiously than he normally would. He had no way of knowing what was out there in this land. He sighed and shrugged "Might as well start. Lets split up and meet back at the village later. I'm sure you can handle yourself, God Slayer" He said putting extra emphasis on the last two words. as he set off in the opposite direction. When he was a fair distance away he started looking, listening for the sounds of animals. It was harder than hunting in a forest or an open field, but he learned to adapt. Akire moved slowly, doing his bed to hind the crunch of snow and ice under foot. That is when he spotted it, a small white rabbit. It's ears perked up. It probably heard him so he really didn't have time to get close enough to catch it. Slowly he drew a small wood carving knife from his belt and placed the tip against his finger. Small drops of blood came out of the wound. Concentrating he aimed the forming mass at the bunny and let fly. It was a small and fast ball it went right through the rabbits skull and killed it instantly. He sighed "Its the most humane way i can think of, gonna have to do" he said picking it up.

Victoria accepted splitting up with her partner. This way, they'd find carcasses more rapidly. She walked alongside her pet and sighed. She kept her hands in her pockets. She wasn't cold at all, considering her High-Voltage lightnings were keeping her enough warm for the moment. She wondered where the monsters were, and if there were any.
'' Ne, Buria, you coming?'' She looked back at her pet that was walking behind her, playing with something. He was usually really strict and cold on missions, but snow turned him into nothing more than a playful dog. She loved him for that. It was a perfect pet. He ran next to her and she petted him gently with her pale hand. She had always seemed the cold one ever since she regained her insane persona, but she was really careful with people and animals she cared about. And Buria was one of the pets she cared about most.
Suddenly, a strange noise was heard behind the God Slayer and her companion. Victoria turned around bruskily, since she had heard the noise as if it was behind her thanks to her sharper sense of hearing was more powerful than any other mage's. Buria followed his master's actions. Both of them looked around, uncapable of fiding from where the noise came, which was actually pretty stupid, since they were in the middle of what could be considered an icy tundra. Victoria filled her hands with lightnings, while Buria prepared to jump at any enemy if needed. Then, before their eyes appeared a...

Akire had picked up 3 more rabbits the same way. they weren't large enough to feed a lot of people so he hoped he can pick up something larger. He wasn't about to let his partner do all the work. He searched farther again. He heard something that sounded like an animal hiding some where. He wasn't sure where. What made it worse was that the wind was starting to pick up on the hills. Blowing not only snow but his scent around the area. That'll make hunting that much harder, he heard the crunching again. It sounded big, probably a monster, human sized he guessed. or hopped in this case. Either way Akire wasn't sure. Drawing the two knifes in his belt he held them ice pick style and took a defensive stance. He glanced, listened and waited for the creature, or creatures to to make their move.

Victoria spoted three white rabbits and 2 snow foxes. She thanked Raijin for her enhaced vision and walked towards the rabbits and foxes carefully. She prefered not frying the creatures, but, then again, she had no weapon besides her lightnings. She took her hands to the head of the rabbit and electrified his brain. The rabbit died instantly. She huffed and moved over to kill the other two rabits. She moved then to the two foxes, who seemed rather altered. Buria moved towards one of the foxes and stabbed it with its claws in the neck, and Victoria fried another one's brain. She put the bodies in a little bag she had been given and covered the blood with a little snow, then she got up and sighed. She passed a hand through Buria's forehead, showing him her gratitude for helping her in this one. He petted his head against her leg and together they continued walking to the front. Victoria was pretty curious how would they be sure where the Frostfire Village was, but she knew that surely, either her or Buria would catch its smell or hear its townfolks and go back to the town. She was wondering how Akire would do, though. Maybe he was good in orientation, maybe he was bad. She didn't know him at all. And sincerely, she hoped he was good: She didn't want having to deal with looking for a lost, frozen person in the middle of Iceberg. It would be awfully boring.

Akire watched as a fox chased a rabbit over the snowy hill. He had freaked out for nothing, glad that no one was around to see his blunder. He pocketed the knifes and followed the fox's tracks. Once he saw the fox sneaking up the rabbit he fired off two quick shots. One at the wolf and one at the rabbit, both killed them instantly. He hopped over and grabbed the corpses. Putting them in the sack to totaled 6 in all. He needed to double his catch and then some. He hopped Victoria was having just a bit more luck than he was. Akire also hopped she was doing ok, this cold was harsh but he was slowly becoming accustomed to it, but he still was rather cold. To stay warm he kept moving and kept a look out for any more animals that he could hunt. following that thought was what would happen should he run out of blood for his bullets. all the water round here would be frozen, and without blood, keeping his temperature up could be a problem as well. He'd have to think of other ways to trap food without the use of his bullet. For him that could be good and bad, the elements of nature will determine which. All of this went through his head as he climbed and slid down the other side of a snow drift.
