Scare Away Those Thugs! (Deniel)

Job Description:

The words of the client echoed in Deniel's head. "Just do what you can." He smirked in amusement at the thought of it. It had only been several days since Deniel passed his B rank exam, but he felt like a whole new person. He was confident in his abilities, in his strength, and in himself. "Oh...I'll do whatever it takes." He said to himself as he adjusted the glove on his hand. He was alone outside of the shop, so no one could hear him. "I hope those thugs have resolved themselves of their sins, because they wont be able to ask for forgiveness once I'm done with them." Deniel gave a smile at his own joke. He was, for some reason, getting much more sarcastic and cold hearted....but he loved it.

"Now....time to find these thugs." Deniel walked away from the shop that he was asked to get rid of the thugs for, and kept his sword Nidhogg in his hand. In addition, he now had a golden black diamond ring on his ring finger for his right hand. He carried much more cockiness on his face, but there was something about him that was disturbing him. Recently, he started to hear some kind of voice in his head. It sounded ancient, and evil, full of malice. And he didn't like it one bit. "Whatever. It's no big deal. Probably just someone playing a prank on me..."

While Deniel was walking, he heard the voice in his head again. "Power. You need more power." Deniel stopped dead in his tracks this time. All along it was speaking to him, but this time....it was loud and clear. Not to mention, it seemed to have read his mind. All his life, Deniel has wanted power. Enough power to fend for himself, and the true power of a Nephalem. What was this voice saying? What was it? All of these thoughts came to his head. "I am closer than you think, Nephalem!" Now that was even scarier. The voice entered his head again, but it knew his thoughts. Something was off about this. If it could read his thoughts, Deniel decided to speak into his mind. "Who exactly are you?"

The voice showed no hesitation in answering him. Deniel was now in an area more populated, with more merchants, so people were passing him by. However, no one paid him any heed, as if they couldn't hear the voice. "I am your weapon, now and forever. I serve you and only you. Those who try to wield me will find it very unsuccessful. I am something perfect for what you are, Nephalem. I am...." Deniel looked down at his right hand. It was carrying his black katana, Nidhogg. "Nidhogg..." He whispered to it, and the voice in his head answered; "Precisely. You have gained the strength to hear my voice, and perhaps command my power with even more precision." Deniel held his katana closer to his face, looking at the sheathed blade. "What are you talking about, Nidhogg?"

"In a very short amount of time, you will understand, Deniel. With this job, you will understand your current skill level and be able to take on harder challenges. Keep moving, and you'll understand." Deniel lowered the blade and did as it told him; he kept moving throughout town. He passed by many people, and there was even a little girl who stared into his eyes and then asked her mother: "Mommy, what's wrong with his eyes?" Her mother could have said something understanding, but she said something that made Deniel a little upset. "Well dear, he's a 'freak'. You'll learn to make fun of them when you grow up."

Deniel gritted his teeth almost at that remark? A freak? Make fun of him? Whoever that mother was, she wasn't teaching her daughter the ability to understand people. Eventually, Deniel came to a scene....where some guys looked like they were hassling the owner of a small stand. "Listen, dude! We can do this tha' easy way, or da' hard way! Jus' give us da' money we need, and we be on our merry way!" The way he talked was very pirate-ish. And Deniel immediately knew that this might have been a group of the guys he was looking for. Well, it was time to take care of some business.

'Monster Dice' :

Deniel stared at each of them, one at a time. The one that was hassling the merchant looked like a typical thug: he had rugged clothing, a scimitar sword that looked almost rusted, and a striped white and green bandana over his head. His body was muscular, but he was shorter than Deniel. He had a very developed chin, with a trimmed beard on it. Although he had a bandana over his head, his long brown hair that went down to his neck was still shown.

And then there was the other guy: he looked much more professional. Perhaps a body guard. He had neater clothing than the man from before, but he still didn't wear anything too special. It was a simple pair of jeans and a red t-shirt, but his weapon was of higher quality. It looked like a sabre, and was held at the right side of his waist, and his hand remained on the hilt the entire time. Deniel's katana was much different than it, but similar at the same time.

And finally, the third one, this guy looked the toughest. He had bright red hair, a blue cape that went down to behind his knee area, and was dressed in very casual clothing. In fact, it was even more casual than the more professional looking one. Deniel could sense he was the strongest, and that he was a mage.

"I'm gonna' count ta' three! If I don't see our money, 'den dere's gonna be some problems!" The least professional and stronger looking one spoke up again, and the merchant had drops of sweat pouring down his head. "P-Please! No! I-I-I have a family, and no money for you guys! Please, just give me another week!"

The merchant did definitely look like the age of a father. He had slight wrinkles on his skin, dark brown hair that was neatly combed back, and some casual blue and red clothing that he wore while selling things. He had a pair of sky-blue eyes, similar to how Deniel's once were. The sight of them almost made Deniel disgusted.

The two stronger ones remained silent, although the mage began to look annoyed. Despite his pleas, the big guy didn't hesitate. "One......" The merchant grew even more scared, and his eyes widened further.

The merchant continued to beg and plea, yelling out "Please" and "No" over and over again, but the thug continued his counting. What disgusted Deniel the most was that no one was helping. No one at all. Everyone either passed by, or simply looked, thinking they couldn't do anything. What might have given them the thought was the mage standing there....but if they all just worked together, they could do SOMETHING. It sickened him. "Two....." Before three, the big guy raised his rusty scimitar at the merchant, he was scared behind belief. "Here lies your first challenge, Deniel! Do what you must do! Discover your new found power!"

"THREE!" The big guy lowered his scimitar to cut straight through the merchants head, but he found his scimitar blocked by another blade....a black katana. The thug looked at Deniel's direction, and each of the three gave different looks. The thug looked surprise, the body guard didn't do anything, and the mage smirked. People around them looked at Deniel thinking "He's done it now....". They were all assuming he was going to die, that he was going to get it. Deniel stared at his audience through the corner of his eyes. "Beat it! All of you! Unless you can stand the sight of three idiots dying, I suggest you leave!" There was a moment of silence....and to his surprise, everyone obeyed.

The streets around them all cleared completely and swiftly, leaving only Deniel, three idiots, and a merchant. The merchant was still staring up at the blades, almost paralyzed in fear. Then, he ducked under his stand to hide from what was about to happen. "Hey! Jus' what exactly do ya' think your do-" The thug found himself quickly interrupted....a blade was in his chest. While he was speaking, Deniel had taken his sword away from him and stabbed him right in his heart. If there was one there. "Shut up." He bluntly said and pulled the blade out, letting the man fall lifeless to the ground.

His two partners, even the mage, were wide-eyed. They couldn't believe someone could kill so quickly and without hesitation. "You next?" Deniel said to them, swinging his blade to wipe the crimson red blood off of it so it could hit the ground. "Perfect...." His blade said in his head.

Deniel kept his somewhat blank and face that had no regret in it. The other two people lost their wide eyes. The mage backed off as the body guard one stepped away from the stand. Deniel took this as a challenge. The body guard seemed to have been angered that Deniel could be so casual about killing someone, and the mage had a smirk on his face, as if it were amusing to him. Deniel stepped away from the merchant stand with the body guard, facing him the entire time. Instead of having his hand over the end of the hilt, the body guard put his hand on the sabre's hilt, ready to draw it at any moment. "You'll pay for that!" He said in a harsh voice, and Deniel could only smirk. This wasn't much of a challenge, and he faced these with arrogant smirks. "Will I?"

This angered the body guard even more, and he drew his blade, charging at Deniel. Deniel held his katana up to block at the perfect time, and the two were face-to-face. One was angry, the other seemed to be amused. They parried their blades away from each other, and gained their ground back. Now, it was a sword fight. There came a series of quick slashes, where Deniel or the body guard swung at his opponent, but the opponent blocked it. A quick slash by the body guard, a quick block by Deniel, a jab by Deniel, a side step by the body guard. A harsh cut by the body guard, a block by Deniel with two of his hands on the hilt. This man was obviously skilled in his swordsmanship....perhaps even more skilled than Deniel.

Deniel could use his magic to win easily, but his pride got to him. He didn't want to win it with magic, he wanted to win it with his pure skill alone. The body guard gave three quick slashes at Deniel, but he blocked every single one. Right after the third slash, Deniel ground both of their blades against each other so that their swords would be far from them, and that was an opening. He sent his fist straight to the body guard's face, landing the first and clean hit. It wasn't much, but it at least left a bruise.

It was one blow, but it struck the body guard with a lot of drama. Deniel gave out a small "Heh" when he did it, and he kept his smirk. The body guard looked at him angrily. "You.....dare!?" Deniel almost laughed at his over dramatic attitude towards such a simple hit. However, instead of saying anything, he just spun his blade in his hand and stared at him, another challenge. The body guard grew even more furious and went for a huge series of slashes at Deniel. He was moving twice as fast as before, but before, Deniel was just toying with him, and he was blocking every single hit even now. Cut towards the rib cage. Block. Swing to the head. Block. Diagonal cut at the shoulders. Block. Deniel blocked every single hit, and while he was doing it, he looked mildly amused.

After one specific hit, Deniel both parried his sword and knocked it away. Then, he grabbed his own blade with both hands on the hilt, and let loose a devastating cut. Deniel let the sword tear through the man's flesh, immediately spilling the blood all the way from his right shoulder down to the left part of his waist. The man let out a horrific scream of pain, but it didn't last long. For after Deniel gave out the devastating blow, he stabbed the man straight in the chest just like the other one. "A dead man shouldn't yell so loud." He said and dug his sword out of his chest. When he did, the man fell to the ground, lifeless.

Now, it was just Deniel and the other mage. Deniel stared at him with his blood-red eyes. The mage stared back with a somewhat amused look, as if he took interest in Deniel. "You next?" The mage walked over to the corpse of his comrade, and kicked it aside without a second thought. "Yeah. I guess I am." Most people would fear Deniel from his killings, but this man, this man....he seemed to take more intensest in Deniel from it. This man didn't have any armed weapon, and Deniel was about to sheathe his blade to make it fair, but the mage interrupted him. "Don't bother. Keep the stupid sword. Not like it'll make a difference."

'Monster Dice' :

Deniel had no idea what this guy was thinking. He was seriously underestimating Deniel. His sword is almost what defined all of his killings; without it, he wouldn't be where he was today. But if he wanted a death wish, he was going to be the shooting star that granted it. "Fine." Deniel moved his blade away from the scabbard and faced his opponent with it. Deniel started the battle right away with two quick slashes at his opponent, both both were dodged by ducking, and his opponent sent his foot straight to Deniel's face. Deniel blocked the attack by holding the blade up to it, but not the sharp part. Deniel shoved his opponent away, who performed an acrobatic somersault to recover himself. Quite athletic he was, but it wouldn't matter. "If you're a mage, what is your magic?'

All the Mage did was smirk at him and go in for another attack. "You're lookin' at it!" Deniel had no idea what it meant, and it made his mind race. The mage did another aerobatic move by cartwheeling, but this cartwheel was at an alarmingly fast rate, and Deniel didn't have the chance to dodge it. He was hit straight in the chin with an even greater amount of strength than he expected, which knocked him back and staggered him. "What the hell?" The guy was already on his feet, and jumping around like a complete maniac. Deniel didn't know what was going on. "Focus, Deniel!" His sword spoke to him inside his head again, and this caused Deniel to be distracted by it for a second.

The distraction didn't last long, as he went in for another attack. This time, he was doing a bunch of flips towards Deniel, and Deniel braced himself for another block. However, what Deniel didn't expect was for him to flip straight behind him, and jab him right in his spine, sending him tumbling forward. Again, this hurt a lot more than it should have, and had enough force to nearly break his spine. "Come on, Deniel! Clear your head! Don't panic! Observe your opponent! Find an opening! And beat them at their own game!"

"His own game? What the hell are you talking about, Nidhogg?" Deniel turned around to see the mage jumping around like a maniac some more. He was so fast, Deniel could barely keep up. Fast....."Wait a second! That's it! Speed! I need speed somehow!" "Good, Deniel! Trust me when I say this: Use your Wings of the White Angel." Deniel wasn't going to question Nidhogg about it. It had only been a few days since he had grown much stronger than before, and he hadn't even tested out his new power. If he was going to do it, it would be here and now. "Aerobatic Magic!" The maniac shouted out. Doing another cartwheel. "This increases my speed, strength, and gives me amazing aerobatic skills!" The mage laughed and Deniel only smirked, as if he were more amused.

"That's quite unique. Now, let me show you mine." The acrobat stopped in his tracks, staring at Deniel with a confused look. He didn't know Deniel was a mage, and thought he was just a stupid guy wielding a sword. He was about to tell Deniel it was a good joke, until two magic circles appeared on Deniel's back. The mage was extremely surprised like this, but so was Deniel. He had never seen these circles before. They were sky-blue, and filled the area with an aura and blue glow. Engraved in the center of these magic circles was a cross, to symbolize holiness. Deniel didn't know what it was all about, but he wasn't about to question it. "Wings of the White Angel!"

The two circles went away from Deniel's back, and what was left behind were two wings. They were white, indeed, but also purple and gold. The first half of the feathers at the bottom were purple, with what looked like blue cracks of molten lava, but there was none. The next half of the bottom feathers was a golden color, which extended to the tip. The top part of the wings were white. Deniel felt a sudden strength surge in him with his wings. They were powerful, he could tell. Stronger than before. However, something even more surprising happened after that: his weapon changed.

Spells Used:

A glowing sky-blue magic circle with a cross engraved in the center appeared at the tip of Deniel's sword while he was paying attention to his back. The magic circle made its way down the tip of the sword all the way to the hilt, and a little bit past that. Once it reached the very bottom, what was left was a bow. The bow was white with a black string, and it had several blue orbs at some of its locations. The whole thing looked like it was several pieces, and that the orbs were the part that kept it together. Yet at the same time, it didn't, because the parts were levitating apart.




"Woah.....what...is this?" Deniel was just as surprised as the mage in front of him, who became even more surprised when Deniel showed he didn't even know his own tricks. "I am no longer, Nidhogg, Deniel! I am El'Druin, the Bow of the High Heavens!" Deniel needed to get over his surprise, so he smirked and gripped the bow tighter. "Alright, El'Druin!" He pointed the bow at his opponent, and reached behind himself, expecting to find a quiver. ......Nothing there. He grabbed the air several times before he awkwardly stood there. "Ummmm....."

"You don't need a quiver, Deniel. Grab the string, and pull it back." Deniel was glad his opponent couldn't hear his weapon, or else it would have been more embarrassing if his opponent knew that he didn't even know his own weapon. Deniel did as he was told. At the very end of his fingertips, an arrow suddenly appeared. It was white, looking like light, and released pure holy energy. The arrow made the air vibrate around Deniel's fingers, and he could feel its power. "Amazing....." Deniel whispered in awe of his own weapon. He raised the bow to aim straight at his opponent, who finally got back on his feet again. "Come on, see if that arrow will hit me!" Deniel did as he was told and released the arrow from the bow. It shot faster than he expected. It seemed like an instant when it already hit his opponent. One second it was there, and then the next second it was impaled right in his opponent's shoulder.

Spells Used:

"URRGGGGH!" The mage didn't seem to be so energetic anymore. The holy arrow both impaled him, but also seemed to sear him, with sizzling sounds coming from his skin on the arrow. Deniel had no idea that it went that fast......he didn't pull it with all of his strength. He didn't pull it back too far. The arrow in the man had suddenly disappeared, and he looked even angrier at Deniel. "You'll pay for that!" He stopped touching his wound and looked as if he were preparing for another attack. "Deniel! Eyes of the White Angel, now!" Deniel didn't waste a second obeying Nidhogg. Two very small glowing sky-blue magic circles with crosses engraved in the center appeared right at the irises of his eyes, and turned them a sky-blue color.

Deniel could see much more clearly than before, and at the same time, the man in front of him seemed to get slower in his eyes. The man got on a hand stand and placed his hands firmly on the ground. "Aerobatic Head Spin!" He made a motion to spin his head, but he was spinning at an unbelievably fast rate, like the blades of a fan. With that much speed, he was also able to move much faster than running, so he went straight for Deniel to hit him with his unusual attack.

However, with his knew eyes and wings, Deniel could easily see the attack. He jumped out of the way at the perfect time, pivoting his body to turn himself around as well. He placed his hand on the string again and shot out another arrow at the man. The arrow merely deflected right off of him, not doing anything. He went in for Deniel for another attack. Nidhogg was about to tell Deniel another strategy, but Deniel was steps ahead of him. To stop something spinning, you just gotta' hit the right spot. He aimed his arrow down at the very bottom of the man's head: the point in which he was spinning.

Right before he was about to hit him, Deniel shot the arrow down at the location, and stopped the spinning right in front of him. It was like taking away the tip of a Dreidle away. With the man no longer spinning, he was going to fall over, but Deniel wasn't nearly done with him. He pulled the string back another time and fired an arrow straight into his stomach before he hit the ground.

Spells Used:

The mage landed flat on his back with another agonizing cry, but shortly found a foot on his stomach. Deniel had another arrow ready and pointed straight at his chest. The cocky attitude that the mage had earlier was no longer there; and he was now filled with fear, just like the shop owner was moments ago. "P-please! NO! SPARE ME! SPARE ME! SPA-" When it came to the wicked, mercy was something Deniel never showed. He shot the arrow straight into the man's heart. That was always a metaphorical phrase to say a man was in love, but not coming from Deniel. His arrows dealt death. "Be judged and pray that mercy may be given upon your black soul."

Deniel shut his mouth right after he said this. What was he saying? That wasn't him. He would never say something like that. He stared at his own body with his sky-blue yes. "Don't worry, Deniel; it's natural. You have the blood of an angel and demon; whenever your body becomes more of that certain blood, it twists and shifts your personality accordingly. As an angel, you seek out justice. Regardless of whether or not people disagree with your view on it." Deniel stared down at his bow, giving his wings several flaps. He didn't understand. He thoughts these thoughts were from deep inside his head, that everyone else had them. But he noticed that the stronger he's been getting, the more he's been losing control with his attitude. He remained a cold person usually, yeah....but sick thoughts have been crawling into his head whenever he went to his Black Devil form, and he hated sadists. In addition to this, here he was talking about "judgment" and "mercy" on someone. What was he thinking?

He turned around to see a group of three other men hurrying along. They were similar to the ones from before. A person who looked like a thug, another one who looked like a body guard, and another who looked like a mage. Deniel knew it was another fight in his hands, but that was perfectly fine with him. The energy on his wings was fading, but it was just enough time. Besides, even if he couldn't use his wings, he still had another trick up his sleeve that he recently learned.

Spells Used:

The thug had a similar style of clothing to the last one. Rugged jeans, a torn-up shirt, but his bandana was black with a skull on the forehead of it. Instead of a rusted scimitar, he held a club mace that had several bad spikes on it. Really bad, they looked like rusted nails put straight onto a piece of wood. Additionally, just like last time, the body guard had much fancier clothes. He looked like he was dressing for more of a wedding or a funeral: he wore a black suit with a bow tie, but also unlike the last one, he didn't seem to have a weapon. And then, there was once again the mage. The one who was between the thug and the body guard, but was also the strongest.

This guy looked like he was dressed in some kind of beach uniform: he had a very colorful dress shirt with plenty of palm trees on them, and what looked like a pair of swim shorts. In addition, instead of wearing shoes like a normal person, he wore flip-flop sandals, as well as sunglasses that concealed his eyes. The three looked at the dead corpses of their comrades, and it didn't take them long to say that Deniel was the killer. It might have been because he was the only one there, or it might have been the fact that an arrow was pierced through one of their chests, and he was holding a bow. The arrow disappeared afterwards, but they saw it anyway.

The mage from the group of three stepped forward and pointed his finger at Deniel. "You there, dude! Like, what the hell, bro!? Not cool! You don't go killin' people, that's not right!" Deniel pointed his arrow at all of them and got ready to shoot one arrow, but Nidhogg gave him a better idea. "Deniel, focus your energy. You can fire up to SEVEN arrows at once if you concentrate." Deniel turned his bow horizontally and did as Nidhogg told him. He concentrated....he wished for seven arrows. He pulled the string back and his wish was granted.

Out of the bow came a volley of seven entire arrows, each flying at three hundred feet per second or about ninety-one miles per hour. The mage dodged all of the arrows, the body guard dodged most, but still had one impaled in his rib cage, and the thug took all of the shots. This showed off the three different skill levels, and which ones to take out first. It was somewhat like the last fight. The body guard seemed angry at Deniel, for messing up his suit. "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW EXPENSIVE THIS THING IS!? NOW IT'S GOT BLOOD ALL OVER IT!"

Spells Used:

To Deniel's surprise, although the thug took all of the hits, he wasn't down. It was almost as if....he was ignoring the pain, or it didn't effect him at all. Deniel also looked behind himself to see that his Wings of the White Angel time out. The two magic circles reappeared and went in reverse order; they went from the tip of the wings to his back, and whatever part they went through didn't come back out. He could tell that he still had his eyes, and that might have been all that he needed. Little did he know that these group of newcomers were much stronger than the ones before.

Just like last time, Deniel was going to take them out by starting with the weakest and going to the strongest. He let himself get distracted by quickly pulling back another arrow to his bow and aiming it at the thug. Right before he was about to fire the arrow, he felt someone's foot, perhaps their ankle is what it felt like, collide with the back of his neck. Deniel staggered forward, letting go of his bow and having the arrow shoot at the ground instead. He would have collapsed on the ground, but he was a fast reactor, and had a surprise up his sleeve. He used his Angel Blink ability to instantly teleport right behind his attacker.

Not too much to his surprise, the attacker was the man dressed in a suit. He was the one who was angered, as well as the one who didn't have a weapon. If it were the mage, he would have probably been hit by a magic attack. Deniel readied another arrow, but then he found another kick go straight to his back. It was much stronger than the last one, and he could tell this one was made by the mage. It wasn't with magic, but it was much stronger, and the thug was still standing in front of him. Deniel flew straight over the body guard, who was ducking down as if he knew he was about to get back up from the mage. Deniel landed straight in front of the thug, on his knees, and the thug merely whacked him on the head with his club.

Spells Used:

It didn't hurt much, but the bad part about it was how the thug laughed like a moron. It was very childish and had a few snorts in it. From behind him, the mage was about to stomp his foot straight into Deniel's back to pin him down and claim victory, but once again, Deniel blink away and appeared behind all of them. He let out a few pants. In just a few attacks, he felt like he was going to drop. The spot of the neck that they hit was a very sensitive pressure spot, and would have either knocked out or killed a weaker person, but Deniel wasn't weak. "Nidhogg, any ideas?" He stared down at his bow, which confused his opponents. They all waited for his next move, and if he took too long, they were going to finish him off.

"It's time for a new weapon, and a new strategy. Your angel form focuses on Speed, now use your Devil form. You'll overwhelm them with devastating attacks and blows, Deniel. Trust me. Use your Arms of the Black Devil. Keep your eyes until they run out. You'll need that last blink." Deniel nodded at his bow and tossed it in his left hand. He held out his right hand and shouted out: "Arm of the Black Devil!" He thought Nidhogg was just mistaken when he said "arms", but he was about to find out that he mistook himself.

Instead of his skin shifting to the form, two magic circles appeared at his fingertips. Deniel looked at both of his hands, surprised. The magic circles were glowing blood-red, just like his eyes, and each had pentagrams in the center of them. They quickly moved up from his fingertips all the way to his shoulders, and for the first time, BOTH of his arms became that of the Black Devil. Black reptilian scaled skin that layered over each other from his fingertips all the way to his shoulders. In addition to the arms, now the shoulders were affected, too, but not with scales. Deniel looked at his shoulders to see two small, but fitting black shoulder pads of armor.

Deniel, and his opponents stared at his arms in awe. He felt a new strength surge into his body, as if he could take on the world. He felt something heavy in his left arm, and turned to look at it. Much to his surprise.....a new weapon was right there in his left hand, and he was somehow holding it with one hand.

Spells Used:

His once bow also had a glowing-red magic circle consume it, and it was now an abomination instead of a bow. It was a gargantuan blade, that looked almost as tall as Deniel himself. Aside from the blade part, there was rotten demonic flesh on both sides, and one of the side had a glowing red eye that looked like that of a parasite or infectious beast, and it stared straight into the eyes of his opponents. The other side....could not be described. It was just flesh with red openings similar to the eye on the other side, but it wasn't an eye. It was.....something. This blade was horrific, and the stench of death and plague filled the air around him. Deniel didn't want to say anything and let these opponents know that he didn't know what his own tactics were once again. Luckily for him, Nidhogg knew he was surprised.

"You no longer hold The Bow of the High Heavens, Deniel. Now, The Blade of Hell's Wrath is in your hand. Say hello to Armageddon!" Deniel stared at the blade in awe for a little while longer until he gave a smirk and gripped it with both hands. He held it out in front of him to his opponents, who looked slightly intimidated. "Meet your end!" The three opponents stepped forward, looking as if they were about to attack. "Deniel! Jab the blade in front of you, now!" Deniel did exactly as he was told and held Armageddon with one hand, jabbing it in front of him. The blade reacted by suddenly extending itself at an alarmingly fast rate, that got even faster. What separated the blade and the hilt was a metal bar, but it was stable.

The blade shot out like a rocket and headed straight for the three. The mage made the good move of stepping out in front of the other two and catching the blade by squeezing both of his hands together at the same time to make sure it didn't hit them. The sword extended a few more feet until it was stopped to a halt. Deniel found this annoying, but Nidhogg continued to guide Deniel into using his new powers. "Retract the blade and kick!"

Spells Used:

Deniel did exactly as the blade told him to and pulled his arms back. In what seemed like an instant, which literally was, the blade was back to its original position, and the mage was holding on to it. What had happened was the metal bar retracted and the mage was dragged along with it at such a fast rate, he couldn't keep up. Deniel remembered Nidhogg's second step and kicked the mage square in the stomach to send him back again and have him let go of Armageddon. "Let go of my sword, damn it!" .....This stunned Deniel. Why was he so angry? What kind of thoughts crawled into his head? He was no longer level-headed it seemed, but now wasn't the time to think about it. This irritated him further. Why did these questions come up at the wrong time!? Why did he never think about it before!?

Deniel clenched his fist to see the mage still on his feet. The blow was hard, but not hard enough. "COME ON! ALL OF YOU! MEET YOUR END!" Deniel realized that he no longer had his Eyes of the White Angel, but suddenly came up with a new idea. A spell that didn't surprise him: something he came up with himself. "CROWN OF THE BLACK DEVIL!" A magic circle appeared at Deniel's head and moved in an instant down to his neck. This magic circle was like the rest of his evil ones: red, glowing, and a pentagram in the center.

What was left was The Crown of the Black Devil; grey skin, pure red eyes, and a horned crown with a red jewel on the center.

This caused even more intimidation to go to the other three people, but they weren't cowards. Suddenly.....Deniel saw something with his new eyes. The thug that he had hit before was an illusion......in fact.....ALL OF THEM WERE. This angered Deniel greatly. Right behind the three that stood before him, the mage was putting up a spell that created illusions of the three, the body guard had them all camouflaged, and the thug was sucking on his thumb. They all had no idea that Deniel saw through the illusion, but boy were they all in for a big surprise. "Challenge this king if you dare!"

Spells Used:

The mage that wasn't in the illusion seemed to concentrate harder to make all of the illusions move. Deniel also realized the pain he was feeling earlier was an illusion; that's why it hurt so much. This angered him further. No one messes with this king. No one. However, Deniel wanted to give these guys false self-confidence into thinking they're going to win, and then crush all of their dreams in one foul swoop. When the three went in for another attack order, Deniel faked it all.

The mage charged at him, and Deniel pretended to not be able to react, when in reality, he saw it coming from a mile away. The mage jumped over Deniel and kicked at the back of his neck again. Deniel felt no pain, as he was no longer subjected to the illusion, but staggered forward on his knee anyway, panting. "Deniel, what the hell are you doing!? You can do better than that! You're the son of the Black Devil!" Deniel tried his best not to smirk but to focus on his mind instead. "Don't worry, Nidhogg. It's all a part of a plan. Just trust me." Nidhogg remained silent, and another attack came in.

The body guard kicked Deniel's chin while he was on the ground, making him sit upright, but he was still on his knees. The body guard grabbed Deniel by the horn and looked him in the eye. "Is this all this so-called "King" can do? Pathetic!" The body guard threw him to the side at the thug's feet. The thug once again smashed Deniel's head, but nearly broke his club doing so. Nonetheless, Deniel faked the pain by crying out and clenching his head.

In reality, his head was racing with evil thoughts of ripping all of these idiots to pieces. He needed to hold back his anger, for he will get the chance to unleash it. he just needed to wait. Patience was key here. The thug kicked his spine directly at the center, and Deniel pretended to roll out of the force in which the thug kicked him. These guys definitely did know where to hit....they were just too cowardly to do it themselves. They were letting petty illusions do all of the work. It was sickening to Deniel.

Spells Used:

When Deniel finished rolling, he didn't feel anything, but there was a foot on his chest. The immunity to illusions must have made him feel nothing as well....just like what had been happening with the attacks. It was the mage, and he gave an arrogant smirk at Deniel, as if declaring his victory. "What's tha' matta'? Lose all ya' strength? Well, we're gonna' put ya' outta' yo' misery once we're doing puttin' you in ya' misery!" Deniel became more enraged by this kind of talk towards him, but kept it in store just like the rest of his anger. He was like a tea kettle right now....if he was left on too long, he was going to explode. He closed his eyes wearily, as if he was slowly getting knocked out from the immense amount of "pain" he was in.

"Heh! Look at 'dis guy! He can't even take some pain! What a waste o' time!" The mage picked Deniel up by the horn, since he didn't have hair. He knew this strength was fake, it was just the illusions to make him appear to be able to lift Deniel so effortlessly. He threw Deniel straight against the wall right beside the merchant's stand. Deniel could see the merchant still hiding under the stand, and he stared at Deniel, a little afraid. He had confidence in the young man before, but now that he was getting tossed around like a rag doll, it was starting to fade.

Deniel could see the concerned look on the merchant's face, but he gave a smirk at the merchant, as if saying "Don't worry, I've got this." He returned his face quickly to his normal miserable one just before the mage arrived again to lift him up by the horn once more. "Jeez, look at you! You call ya'self a devil! Hah!" The mage looked at the merchant, hiding under the stand and suddenly remembered what their true motive here was. "Give us the money, or else y'all end up like this arrogant bastard!" Deniel couldn't take it anymore. "Arrogant bastard" was the worst insult so far. It was time to end this pathetic pain charade.

Spells Used:

Deniel grabbed the illusion of the mage by the arm and flung him right over his shoulder plate armor straight on the ground, flat on his back. He went to the ground with a large "THUD!", but Deniel wasn't done. He wasn't his real target.....his real target WAS the real target. To his left was the mage keeping up the illusion, and Deniel made his way over to him and his comrades. The thug that was sucking his thumb, intimidated by Deniel looked up at him. "Guys....I 'tink' he notices us....." The two other mages looked at Deniel approaching them, wondering if he was right. To test out this theory, the illusion mage made the illusion of the body guard run in front of Deniel to try and attack him, but Deniel passed straight through it.

He knew they were illusions, and illusions could be passed through. All along, they just felt real. When Deniel passed through, the three people became instilled with complete fear, staring into Deniel's red eyes. Deniel stared right back at them, with red eyes full of fury and rage. He opened his mouth to reveal his sharp fangs, and gave out a small breath of what looked like black mist.

He took one harsh step in front of the three, further scaring them all. "You insult my crown....." Deniel took another step forward with a harsh step, making the dust around his boot crumble. "You dare touch me in such ways....." Another step, more words, "YOU DARE TALK TO ME IN SUCH WAYS!" Deniel's anger was rising. He took one final step towards them, and let out the last burst of fury. "AND YOU CALL THIS KING AN ARROGANT BASTARD! EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU WILL NEVER LIVE TO SEE ANOTHER DAY!"

Realizing putting up the illusions was useless and the camouflage, the two canceled their spells and faced Deniel full on. The three got down on their knees, as if bowing to him. "N-Now...hold on...I'm....I'm sure there's something we can work out! I mean...we...was was just kiddin' as all." Tears started to roll out of their eyes, as well as intense sweat from their faces. Deniel's expression didn't change.

Spells Used:

The three of them stared at each other. Deniel wasn't going to kill them, yet. He wanted to hear their last words and their cries of mercy before he dealt down the final blow. "P-please! We-we're all humans, right!? We....we can work something out!?" "I am NOT human." Deniel merely said, still listening to his agonizing pleas. "W-Well then....then...can't you just understand where we're comin' from! I mean....I mean....we just wanna' make some jewels! And and....." Deniel raised his hand and pointed up his index finger, as if counting. "Greed." Deniel was counting this man's sins, turning his arguments against him with just one word.

This caused him to panic more, and he couldn't think of anything. However, his partner, the body guard, came up with something. "W-Well...good sir....I mean....all...all of us are weak and....and we have to get by somehow! That's why we use illusions, to try and hide ourselves! You can understand, right!?" Deniel raised his middle finger along with his index finger. "Fraud." He plainly spoke out. Their eyes all widened further. This time, the mage spoke up again. "W-well.....WELL......we don't have jobs! We don't want jobs! This is the...the only thing we can get! I mean...." Deniel raised his ring finger. Now, three fingers were up. "Sloth."

Now they were all scared completely. The only one that didn't speak now was the thug, but he seemed to be the least intelligent one of the group. Despite this, his comrades looked to him for assistance. "Well....ummm.....ummmm.....UMMMM......we just like to feel superior?" Deniel smirked and held up his pinky. Now, four fingers held up. "Pride. Sorry boys, but you don't pass." Deniel lowered his hands and looked down on them with a malicious grin. They all hugged each other tighter, scared so much they couldn't even speak. "Greed for wanting nothing but money. Fraud for faking everything you do. Sloth for only doing this out of your laziness for not being able to do anything else. And pride for looking down on people, especially if it's a fake superiority! It's time for your judgment. You shall die." Deniel opened his mouth to unleash a new spell that he learned not to long ago. All of these men will hear the Shout of the Devil.

Spells Used:

A small glowing red magic circle with a pentagram engraved in the center appeared right in front of Deniel's mouth. It looked like it could fit inside of it. The three frauds stared at Deniel, paralyzed with fear. This was their end. Deniel let out a huge breathe into the magic circle, and that breath turned into The Shout of the Devil. It was a devastating spell that ripped the ground around it into pieces, like an Earthquake happened, but it only did it to nearby grounds, so not a whole lot was effected. It was a red energy blast, made up of Deniel's Unholy Energy. This blast consumed the three idiots, surrounding them and making sure they wouldn't get out. Even with their agonizing cries of pain, the shout didn't stop.

This breath continued on and on, and inside, their conditions were getting worse. Deniel could have kept it going, but he decided to end it there. He closed his mouth, letting the magic circles disappear. All three of them were lying on the ground, no longer holding on to each other. Each had heavily bruised and burnt skin; not from heat, but from how destructive the Unholy Energy was. They were all in critical condition, almost dead......but not for long. Deniel still had his blade in his hand, and he was about to stab them all in the chest, until Nidhogg came up with another idea: "Armageddon has a scythe form. Why not kill them with that? It'll be more appropriate. Reap the tears of the victim's cries."

Deniel thought Nidhogg's idea was absolutely perfect. While his victims were still on the ground, he held his blade up to the sky and let it transform itself. The blade moved up on the hilt, exposing the rest of it, and then it turned ninety degrees at the end of the hilt so that both sides of the giant blade were facing different sides. In addition, the blade grew skinnier, but also longer. Deniel slammed the scythe straight into the chest of the thug, ceasing his breath. Then, the body guard. Finally, the mage.

The mage was the one that called Deniel an arrogant bastard, and he wished he didn't make it so quick and painless. He deserved to be punished.

Spells Used:

Deniel grabbed his scythe with both hands and stabbed the chest of the dead mage a second time. A third time, a fourth time, a fifth time, a sixth time. Deniel stabbed the chest of him over and over and over again. With the fighting stopped, the merchant finally crawled out of his little hidey-hole. The merchant watched Deniel stab the chest over and over and over again, and was questioning the mage's spot. Why the chest? Why did Deniel always go for the heart? Deniel kept on swinging his weapon....even after his Take Over faded. He was back to his normal self, and his blade was back to a katana. The scabbard was safely inside his belt slot, and Deniel aimlessly swung at the air with his katana, still thinking that he was stabbing him in the chest. "Deniel, get a hold of yourself."

For the first time, Nidhogg spoke aloud. The blade glowed with every word he said, and Deniel finally started paying attention to what was going on. He stared down at his sword, a little fearful. "Nidhogg....what happened to me?" "Nothing you need to worry about, Deniel. Nothing." Deniel didn't believe his sword one bit, but he couldn't argue with it. After all, he didn't remember anything that happened after he....after he put that crown on. Yet here he was, somehow angry and the corpses of his opponents were in front of him. He remembered the battle.....but at the same time he didn't. It was all a mystery to him. A big, giant mystery.

Deniel sheathed Nidhogg back in its scabbard, and he heard the voice of the merchant from before behind him. "Well, my angry young friend, you certainly are capable of a lot of destruction....and death." The merchant looked behind Deniel at the corpses, a little displeased. "Tell me, why would you do such things for me? I'm just a simple merchant. And you're.....whatever you may be." Deniel turned around to see the merchant he saved earlier. The man was about Deniel's height, a little bit taller because Deniel was still very much in his youth, and the man was older. "I'm a Nephalem."

Spells Used:

"A Nephalem? Is that so.....so your mother was an angel, and father a demon I'm assuming?" The stand keeper scratched his well trim beard, and Deniel nodded. "Yeah. I'm surprised you know...much less believe me." "Well, I just witnessed it all. A demon, and an angel grew out from within you. There is no way I cannot believe it. Come with me. We'll talk somewhere else. Help me pack up my shop, will you?" Deniel nodded and followed the man back to his stand. He helped him store away all of his goods on a small cart.

He sold various things such as antiques, fruits, vegetables, and even a bit of clothing. He had a larger cart right next to the stand he had, and that's where Deniel and him packed everything up. Deniel volunteered to pull it this time, giving the man the first day of break from pulling the enormous cart in a long time. The streets filled shortly after Deniel and the man left, but they didn't notice it. Meanwhile....the corpses of the men were left right there, and people were wondering what in the world happened to them. It was none of Deniel's concern right now, because he was halfway across town pulling a giant cart with a grown man walking beside him.

"So tell me, Deniel, why did you help me like you did back there?" Deniel gave a few words of answering in between his large pulls of the cart. "Well.....I'm.....on a job....you see.....those guys hassle.....other people.....as well and.....one of them wanted.....to make sure.....I took care of them..." "I see, and you did the job well. In fact, I saw the description of it...form what I remember, it said to SCARE away those thugs. You killed them." Deniel grumbled under his breath, thinking of an answer. Before he could, the shop keeper somewhat harassed him further. "And you fight with so much anger and rage. Do you fight to protect? Or do you fight for the sheer thrill of killing people? Are you more devil than angel, young one?" The question struck Deniel like one of his arrows in an opponent. Was he more devil than angel? It seemed like it, with his cold attitude and merciless killings.
