Personality:
Alistair considers himself to be an academic and a free thinker. He is also a fan of the finer things in life, and as such he believes that everything that one does needs to be done with a certain finesse. His passions include the academic pursuits of mathematics, humanities, and physics; he also is very passionate about the fine arts such as music, art, the culinary arts, theatre, and the opera. Alistair is a huge proponent of philosophy, his favorite branch being logic, however, he has no belief in the supernatural or the dogmatic elements of religion. He will not go out of his way to attack religion or the people who believe in it, but if he is asked about it he will gladly speak his mind. He is not against looking at the philosophical aspects of religion such as metaphysics, ethics, and logic in a positive manner as he manages to look at it and treat it as a form of philosophy while discarding all of the dogmatic and supernatural elements involved with the particular religion. Obviously he would describe himself as an atheist, though he does follow philosophical aspects of Buddhism, most prominently being meditation.

Alistair is usually quite reserved in the expression of his feelings, but if he is talking with someone on a subject that interests him (Usually academic interests) then he will express every feeling he has on the subject as well as his own personal opinions, while also introducing interesting opinions he has heard or read from others.
He has a certain air of confidence about himself in areas of his magic, academia, and fencing. He uses fencing as his main form of offense, as his magic is mostly support-based. His air of confidence int these areas comes from the large amount of time he has spent dedicated to perfecting them. He has spent about half his life practicing the art of fencing, so he is able to use it quite effectively in battle. His academia has been integrated into his life since he was old enough to speak, so naturally he incorporated it into his very identity. His magic has been practiced in tandem with his academia and fencing in order to make him into a well-rounded individual, and at some point he decided to work as a mage as opposed to any sort of profession in academia.

In battle he is quite calm and composed, despite not being very physically powerful. He usually holds a largely support-based position in team-based instances, so he is used to taking orders and executing them flawlessly. Alistair values himself much more as a leader than as a supporting team member due to his intelligence and lack of physical prowess. In battle he utilizes his magic as a catalyst for supporting his fencing abilities and increasing the natural abilities of his teammates with his support magic. He is not against killing those who he feels are worthy of death by his own standards. He decides someone's worthiness of death on several levels, though it is usually justified by a line of thought which bases it off of the other person's willingness to put themselves into a morally dangerous situation, implying that they are ready for death should it happen to them.

• The Arts: Alistair has a deep love for all of the arts, such as the visual, auditory, and any other form of art that he encounters.
  
• Logic: He enjoys logic and all of its branches such as mathematics.
  
• Language: Alistair has a deep love for all languages, whether they be modern or ancient.
  
• Fine Food: He enjoys fine food and wine, sparing no expense in his culinary delights.
  
• Fencing: Having been practicing fencing from a young age, he thoroughly enjoys it and is fairly skilled at it.

• Close-Mindedness: Alistair cannot stand those who are stuck in their ways and refuse to budge at all.
  
• The Inconsiderate: He has a great disdain for anyone who would refuse to take other people into account. Especially if it risked the lives of their allies.
  
• The Insisting Unskilled: Alistair does not like anyone who claims to be skilled, yet only shows their incredible lack of skill.

• Gaining Knowledge: He is motivated by the idea of pushing his mind to its absolute limits in the realm of academia.
  
• Maintaining Lavish Lifestyle: He is motivated by the necessity of work to maintain his lavish taste in food, items, and lodging.

Fears:

• Existential Fear: Alistair fears what has yet to happen, due to the many horrible things that could happen as a result of his choices. His greatest of these existential fears is the fear of what comes after death, because of the uncertainty involved in it.
  
• Mental Limits: He fears for when a time comes where he will have no more knowledge to gain.
  
• Brutish Popularity: He fears the popularity of physical and magical strength, as it makes him believe that the newer generations will simply abandon higher knowledge and the customs of academia.
  

General Appearance


Height: 5'8"
Weight: 130 lbs
Hair: Black hair gathered in a large bundle which extends to his lower back and is tied off at the end.
Eyes: Brown
Skin Tone: A shade lighter than an olive skin tone.
Appearance: He has a small build with a fair amount of musculature. He has a relatively small stature along with proportional body parts, which makes him quite an unimpressive foe to face. He typically wears a baby blue button down shirt covered by a solid charcoal-colored suit vest with a solid black tie. Along with it he wears solid charcoal-colored dress slacks with a formal black leather belt. His shoes are formal black wing-tipped dress shoes made of leather. All of his clothing is tailored and therefore is form-fitting. From time to time he is known to also have a pea coat which matches the vest and slacks he wears with him along with a baby blue silk scarf, he usually only bring his suit coat and scarf when he travels to colder climates.
