Akryn impatiently stood in the long line to get a passport, a soft drink in hand, his other hand stuffed in his pocket. Behind him was some really fat, smelly guy, with a basket on his back which smelled a lot worse than the guy, and in front of him, two giggling young women who had already flatly turned his advances down. "I shoulda come with Kyll or something. This is insanely dull." he said, looking up as a vendor wandered by, selling snacks. He couldn't help but grin to himself as he marveled at the entrpenurial spirit of some of these people. This line had been here since before the shop opened, and would be here for hours more, and odds are, these guys were making a killing.
Still, Akryn wished they would sell books or something. Anything to break the monotony. True he was almost to the front, but he had been here for hours! As he stood there mentally whining about the situation, a commotion from the front caught his attention, and those around him. Up front a short, thin man in a fancy suit, with an awfully curly mustache, and three other men, two of them armed with nasty looking billy clubs had pushed there way to the front and were causing trouble.
"You cant just cut in line like that! I been waitin here all day to get this, you can do the same!" A motherly looking woman at the front was saying, shaking a plump finger at the man, her husband nodding and stepping up. As the man stepped forward to say something though, the two large goons with billy clubs would step inbetween the husband and the man in the suit, leering down at him as the business man spoke. "Oh I do apologize for the inconvenience. You see my friends here just have so little patience and couldn't possibly wait in that line all day. But I am certain you could talk them into waiting. No? nothing? Good, then I thank you for your generosity!" the small man with the curly mustache said as he turned to the woman at the counter, his two goons leering at the crowd, and the fourth man standing off to the side.
Akryns eyes narrowed at what he saw and he handed his soda to the fat man behind him. "Here, you look like you need this. Pardon me." he said before stepping out of line and making his way to the front. He was surprised there were no guards stepping in, or around, for that matter, but he didn't care. That was bullying up there, plain and simple. And Akryn would be damned if he sat there and let some rich blowhard push woking folks around.....
