Ao is a very shy person, but friendly person. She never treats anyone badly and wants to help others. Though her shyness gets in the way of this, making helping others a difficult task for her. Apart from helping her shyness really shows out, she loves to speak but to a person she has never met in before, Ao can only say stuff that sounds like gibberish. Even with people she knows, she finds it hard to talk to them as if they ever point out anything about her, she gets very distracted by it and tries to hide it. This has lead to her developing insecurity and she is really insecure about her looks all the time, even in battle. She really cares about her look up to the point of it being an obsession. She is especially insecure about her cat ears. When she was a child, she was bullied because of them and now she usually hides them under a hat. She will only show them to people she recognizes as friends. This has made trusting others hard for her, she will act openly to everyone as long as she isn't too shy but she will only trust the people close to her.
The bullying in the early years of her life also lead to developing a disorder. Whenever someone criticizes or complains about her, even little thing, she almost immediately tears up and starts crying. During that time she consistently apologizes and tries to be as good as she can. Or another reaction could be for Ao to fall to her knees, covering her face with her hands and silently sobbing, like something horrible would have happened. This is a fairly serious thing for her and makes making friends with people fairly difficult for her. Even if she wants to make a lot of friends. Friend and people close to her mean the most to Ao. She couldn't live without others and really wants to make friends with anyone she meets. Even though she might not trust them she never wants them to think badly of her.
In battle Ao is serious, she never gets shy in battle or backs down. Due to her looks she might not look like a fighter but she actually enjoys fighting more than anyone she knows. She gets into battles and sometimes is the first to start them. There are some people who she just can’t stand. And under her shy personality hides a vicious fighter. She does better in a team than solo but she can’t always have a team. She doesn't like being a leader or never wants to be. She can’t think of plans quickly and pressure just makes her more shy. Especially if others are at stake. But following someone she doesn't mind, actually you could say she prefers it. She won’t always go with the orders given as she is a tad bit stubborn but she will never abandon her team. Ao is also willing to take a hit for her friends or team, she never wants to see them in pain. Better her than her friends.
