Find the Lost Puppy! (Deniel)

Job Description:

"And that is the last I saw of him, ma'am." Deniel considered this job, and took it without hesitation, so he went to meet up with the client after accepting it. Here they were at the owner's house, while he was sitting down on a table next to her. She was quite an old woman, but her house was like a mansion. Full of antiques, carpeting, butlers and maids, and other rich and valuable items. The butler that had a very thick black mustache that last saw the puppy was explaining to Deniel and Mrs. Hammelten exactly what happened and the entire situation. "Thank you very much. You are excused," Mrs. Hammelten said. Her voice was very worn out and old, and yet there was still a hint of kindness within it. Deniel could tell that she respected her servants very much, even though they were just butlers and maids. The butler took a bow and exited the room they were in. Now, she turned her attention to Deniel with her half-closed, weak eyes. "Do you need anything else, young man?" She asked him.

Deniel merely shook his head and stood up from his seat. "No. That will be all." The woman folded her hands and nodded at Deniel, "Thank you very much again for doing this. An old woman like myself can't do much on her own." Deniel didn't respond to her, he merely took his leave from the room and headed towards the exit. There, a guard was watching over his sword Nidhogg. The guard knew it couldn't lift the blade, because it was way too heavy for him. "There's your blade back. Sorry for confiscating it but......you know why. By the way, how the hell do you carry that thing around? I've never felt anything more heavy." Deniel took Nidhogg from the ground and inserted it in his belt loop to make sure it was fastened. The guard was much taller and muscular than Deniel, with a great grey scraggly beard, and plenty of armor on. He also had a lance and a shield, in somewhat of a symbol to his guardian role of this place. All Deniel said was, "Don't stress it too much. You may be the first who tries to lift my blade, but you wont be the last. Everyone will always fail. Anyway, thanks." Deniel gave off a small bow to the still confused guard, and opened the door and walked out.

When he entered the outside, he took a deep breath of the fresh air that surrounded him, for he knew that it wouldn't last too long. Once he entered the so-called, "Spooky Forest", not everything will be pleasant. Deniel remembered the first time he entered the forest, as a D rank mage. He remembered his merciless killing on the goblins, and his argument inside his head from his previous job of finding a lion cub once again came inside his head. Did he truly have the right to kill? Was it a sin? And would he pay for it one day? He knew asking all of these questions would be pointless, for he would never find an answer in his own mind. He needed to consult someone about it one day, but that day wasn't today or tomorrow. In fact, now that he thought about it, the only person he knew in his guild was his guildmaster, Zeno, and no one else. It was quite sad. For him to be a part of a community but only keep to himself. Once again, this was not a time to think about this. He needed to get to the Spooky Forest, and that's where he started to head to. Mrs. Hammelten's house wasn't too far away from the forest, so getting there wasn't going to be a hassle.

Deniel walked upon the open fields that separated the house slowly, with Nidhogg dangling at his side. A nice breeze slid in towards him, blowing his jet black hair into his eyes and then blowing it away. Deniel looked upon the "Spooky Forest" with his blood-red eyes. Nothing spooky about it in his opinion. Time to get a puppy......

Deniel continued his staring of the Spooky Forest for a few minutes, and while he was doing it, he was starting to wonder what exactly he would encounter in this place. The first time there was suspicious rustling footsteps, and all it turned out to be was just a bunch of weak goblins. And that time, he was trying to find a mysterious flower, one that seemed to glow with power. This time, all he was doing was finding some stupid puppy for an old woman. He couldn't imagine anything bad getting in the way of him and a puppy......maybe this mission was going to be a lot easier than the D rank one that he did before. Deniel, after staring down the entrance to the forest, finally began to enter.

Once inside, it seemed as if all sunlight had faded. There was complete darkness, despite it being bright outside of the forest, in fact there seemed to be too much sun outside considering the weather and season. But in here, the trees were so crowded together, that little to no sunlight had gotten through. It gave off a bit of a nightly effect to the forest, and it was quite creepy. There were rustles in the bushes everywhere, random crackling of leaves from the trees. Everywhere Deniel went, there was something hiding in the brushes, but nothing came out. To him, this big, giant, "Spooky" forest was nothing more than a place to scare off little kids. It seemed like something was there, but Deniel knew there wasn't.

If a weak-willed person, a scared person, or a little kid had come here, they would surely wet their pants and run off, but Deniel was quite the opposite. These sounds didn't bother him at all, and most of the time, he didn't even hear them. After a bit, they started to really annoy him, but he retained his cool. He started to wonder where exactly he was going to find one stupid puppy in the midst of all of this. After all, this was a giant forest and it was a small puppy. Not to mention, if he traveled too far then-suddenly, Deniel heard something that he knew couldn't be fake. Thundering footsteps. He placed his hand on Nidhogg's hilt and prepared himself.

'Monster Dice' :

Deniel gave off an arrogant and cocky smirk once he heard the thundering footsteps. This time, he could feel them on the ground, and knew they weren't fake. He heard them get closer and closer, and his heart began to race not with fear, but with anticipation. He drew Nidhogg straight from its scabbard and left the scabbard dangling there in his belt slot. He listened for the footsteps getting closer and closer, and turned to their direction. He heard rusting in the trees and bushes nearby, and could almost sense the creature that was approaching them. He saw the rustling in the bushes near him, his grin widened and he gripped his katana tighter. What could it be? What could it be!? "Yes! Show me this strong oppo-" Every last bit of Deniel's anticipation and faith into a strong opponent had dropped. His face turned into his normal, bored one. He loosened his grip on Nidhogg. And he looked up to see.......a Vulcan.

Deniel remembered his last encounters with Vulcan. He thought they were strong, brash creatures at first, worthy of fighting. Then, after defeating so many of them one by one, he began to realize that they weren't too much stronger than the average enemy he faced in these C ranked jobs. In addition to that, the people on that job still bothered him. The fact that he saved them and all they could do was be fearful of them did hurt Deniel's feelings, although he probably did deserve it. "I did kill a bunch of Vulcan without mercy right in front of them....." It still hurt his feelings nonetheless, but maybe that was the price to pay for him enjoying the killing of other creatures; ridicule and disagreement in his methods. Ridicule just because he was a Nephalem as well.........

Deniel looked up at the Vulcan that just arrived, and the beast stared down at him with a wicked grin on its face, thinking it was much superior because of its size. Deniel knew full-well how to deal with these Vulcan, and dealing with one of them wasn't going to be hard at all. Barely even a challenge. The Vulcan smashed its fist down at Deniel, and Deniel dodged it with a sidestep, and counter-attacked by stabbing its wrist when its fist collided with the ground, and then quickly taking its sword out. The Vulcan swung its fist that was in the ground to the side in an attempt to catch Deniel off guard, but Deniel already saw this technique once again. He jumped over its fist and got a quick slash out of it before its arm got out of the way. So far, he didn't move from his spot. This was going to be much easier than he thought.

The Vulcan then raised its two arms in the air and put them together. It then proceeded to smash down at Deniel, trying to crush him. Deniel had also seen this attack before, and to counter it, he took one step forward so he would be between the two Vulcan's arms, and dodge the attack. With little distance between him and the Vulcan, Deniel impaled Nidhogg inside of its chest to finish it off in one blow. "Too easy."

This Vulcan was much stronger than the ones he faced before, and didn't die to one small wound to the chest. The Vulcan then pulled its arms in to squeeze Deniel into a bear-hug. Or in this case, a Vulcan-hug. This was the last thing that Deniel expected, and he was caught off guard, with his face being buried in the Vulcan's hairy chest. The Vulcan squeezed harder and harder, not letting go. "Tso o de blk dvl!" What Deniel called out was "Torso of the Black Devil" so he could stop this stupid thing from crushing him. Deniel's torso area shifted to its black scaled skin and the belt-like armor came over his chest. "Dvls Rn!" Devil shouted out "Devil's Reign" and was immediately freed from the Vulcan's iron grip. Once he was, he made no hesitation to stab its chest over and over and over again, using this small chance he had to finish it off once and for all.

He didn't stop stabbing until he saw the life get sucked out of the Vulcan's eyes, which didn't take long. For the first time, what he thought would be the killing blow didn't deal death at first. Deniel walked away from the corpse of the Vulcan, and was about to sheathe his katana, until he heard more thundering footsteps. He looked back at the one he just killed, making sure it wasn't the one that was just trying to run away, and once he confirmed it, looked in front of himself to see himself facing three Vulcan at the same time. Maybe he was going to get the challenge that he craved so much. They all stared down at Deniel, and then at the corpse of their fellow Vulcan. Upon seeing their comrade fallen in battle, and the blood on the man's blade, they all became enraged and started to pound their chests with their fists; just like apes.

One or three, Deniel knew the outcome of this was going to be his victory. Even though he was introduced to one new trick by the one before, he doubted that these guys had anything better. The first one started out with the same attack of smashing down with both of its fists, and Deniel wasn't going to get cocky this time and get himself caught again. He jumped away from the attack only to have himself duck immediately afterwards to dodge a swing from the other Vulcan. The third one went behind Deniel to try and punch him from behind, but Deniel turned around and slashed his sword across its knuckles. "Scum!" The Vulcan retreated its fist immediately, looking at it bleeding. This only enraged it and its three other comrades even more. They began to go into a frenzy.

Spells Used:

Although the Vulcans were driven into an angered frenzy, Deniel retained his calm attitude, and actually raised an eyebrow at their unusual behavior. They started their chain of attacks again, but it was in reverse order. First a punch to jump out of the way, then a swing to jump over, and then a smash to leap away from. However, it was much faster this time, and didn't give Deniel any time to do a counter attack. "What the-" Deniel was trying to catch his breath, but one of the Vulcan suddenly smacked him away from behind, sending him flying against of the trees. The impact made a crack in Deniel's back and his katana to drop. The Vulcan began to cheer, thinking they won. And if Deniel didn't come up with something fast, they will. Then, his attention turned to leaves falling down from the trees in front of him. He looked up at the trees, and took notice to the fact that they were all very close together AND the rustling was everywhere. It was the perfect disguise.

He grabbed Nidhogg and climbed straight into the trees. One of the Vulcan took notice to him, and charged at him in an attempt to knock him down, but just before it arrived, Deniel disappeared in the branches, and all it did was ram its own head into the trunk. The Vulcan's looked around, suspicious of every single tree. They couldn't track Deniel down at all, seeing as how he made little to no sounds in the tree, and there were still sounds everywhere. Soon, the Vulcan's became annoyed, but Deniel was just getting started. This was the first time he tried something sneaky, and he was immediately enjoying it. He made his way from tree branch to tree branch, and the trees being so close together made it easy for him to travel. He made sure to stay as low as possible, because he knew the branches near the bottom were the strongest, but at the same time, he stayed within the leaves.

He found a good opportunity to attack a Vulcan from behind, one that was looking around at the trees in front of itself, eying each one suspiciously. Deniel made his way to the tree behind it, where he dropped down on the ground silently and let loose three swift strikes. "Cut-off! Blast! Begone!" After the three swift strikes to the back, the Vulcan turned around, with its arm held out to swing at anything that would have been on the ground. When it turned around, it was surprised to see that Deniel was already gone. For Deniel, after the cuts, went back up in the tree again. The Vulcan was extremely angry at the sneak attack, and started to think Deniel as a coward. It began to recklessly smash its fist in the tree trunk, thinking Deniel was still in it.

Spells Used:

Deniel, sadly for himself, was still stuck in the tree the Vulcan was smashing at, and he couldn't get out. The tree began to shake fiercely, and he could only cling on to the branch with both hands, trying not to fall off. He couldn't jump away from the tree, because he would fall down before he could time his jump. He was hoping he could just outlast this Vulcan and wait for it to give it up, but the Vulcan didn't stop. Maybe it smelled Deniel. Deniel came up with a way to stop this, and it was a reckless one, too, but reckless was his middle name. Not literally. He jumped down from the tree branch and drew Nidhogg from its scabbard. "Haaaaaah!" The Vulcan suddenly looked up at Deniel, who held up his katana in preparation for a strong attack. Deniel slashed his sword down at the Vulcan, making a deep wound from its shoulder all the way to its hip. The Vulcan let out a cry of pain, and that caused the other Vulcan to finally pay attention to Deniel's location. All they saw was the Vulcan screaming, for Deniel already retreated inside another tree. He wasn't going to let himself get caught so easily.

The Vulcans grew annoyed with Deniel's sneaky attitude, and resorted to using reckless acts to try and get him. All around themselves, they started banging on trees and shaking them to see what would fall out, hoping to get the one that Deniel was in. Little did they know that Deniel already had a plan to defeat them all, he just needed to set it in motion.

Spells Used:

While the Vulcan were smashing their way through the trees, Deniel made sure to avoid each and every one of them, so he could use his final attack to finish them all off at the same time. After a few minutes of him jumping around and them bashing against trees, they finally backed away form the trees with their backs to each other, looking in front of themselves. This was Deniel's chance, and he took it. He jumped from one of the trees to the center of them all. There, he spun himself and held out his blade to slash the backs of each and every one of them. After two slashes on each, which were so fast they didn't realize what was happening until it was too late, the Vulcans finally turned around. Each of them readied an attack to smash Deniel to pieces, and they were all about to execute it if it weren't for Deniel's Devil's Reign spell. He used it right away to push them all back and stop their attacks, and then went on to cutting each one of them once, twice, three times each. He knew this wasn't enough to kill them, but he was going to get to that soon.

He walked away from the center of them, that being the most vulnerable spot. They all stood up, recovering from their wounds, and were even more angry than before. They came at Deniel one by one. First the one he inflicted the grievous wound upon from leaping down of the tree. It held up its fist to try and pound Deniel into the ground, but Deniel turned around and stabbed it in the chest, making it fall down lifeless. Number two tried to jump on Deniel, but Deniel rolled out of the way and jumped, stabbing its back to where it would impale its heart from behind. Finally, number three realized it was hopeless and ran away. Four Vulcans down already. He really didn't like fighting them......they were too easy for him. "Scum." Deniel merely said and sheathed his katana. He walked away from the corpses of the three Vulcan, and in the opposite direction of the one that ran off. "Back to finding this puppy."

Spells Used:

Deniel only walked a couple of yards away from his location until he heard more thundering footsteps. He closed his eyes and gave a sigh of irritation. From behind him came a Vulcan, which was much larger than the ones from before, so large that its head would be up in the trees if it weren't for it walking on all-fours and hunching its back over. It was like a gorilla. Deniel finished his sigh to turn around and see the massive Vulcan facing him. He wasn't surprised at all by its large size, in fact, he couldn't have been less intimidated by it. "You know, when I'm an A rank or an S rank, I might just come back here and wipe out the entire Vulcan population...." Deniel drew Nidhogg's blade and stared up at the Vulcan.

The Vulcan lowered its head even more to look Deniel straight in his eyes with its massive ones, their faces almost touching. The Vulcan raised its head back up and held out its arm to swipe at Deniel. Deniel was getting ready to dodge the attack, when he was already caught by the Vulcan's attack. Not only that, it wasn't to swipe Deniel, it was to swipe him up and hold him with its fists. Deniel barely clang on to Nidhogg with all of his might, making sure the blade wouldn't fall out of his hands. The Vulcan squeezed Deniel several times, making him grunt in pain. The Vulcan tried a few more squeezes, and realized that all he was going to get out of Deniel was a bunch of grunts. No screams from him.

The Vulcan looked at Deniel, somewhat disappointed, and then threw Deniel straight at a tree. Deniel landed with another harsh "Crack!" in his back. "Ow! Jeez......why's it always my spine?" Deniel slowly got up, clenching his teeth in the pain. He grabbed Nidhogg and looked at the Vulcan. It was large, but it was really, really damn fast. Without a moment to even notice, the Vulcan was right in front of Deniel with its fist raised. Deniel stared up at it, and before he could even react, the Vulcan crashed its fist down at Deniel.

Spells Used:

Deniel could feel blood come out of his mouth the second the fist came into contact with him, and consequentially, his Torso of the Black Devil finally wore off. Deniel clenched on to Nidhogg, barely managing to keep himself standing. This Vulcan was fast, but he knew a way to counter it. When it raised its fist once again, Deniel held Nidhogg out so the blade was pointing outward, and sure enough, the Vulcan smashed its fist down once again. But this time, instead of hitting Deniel, it impaled its own knuckle straight into Nidhogg's sword. Deniel smirked, with a few drops of blood coming out of his mouth.

The trick to this Vulcan was that it was fast, really fast, but there was a downside to it. Any attack it will do in the immense speed is charged up. The blow is given away for a second or two, and then pulled off at rapid speed. In other words, because it held up its fist, Deniel knew it was going to punch him again, which gave him the opportunity to hold up Nidhogg so it would impale its own fist.

The Vulcan took a few seconds to respond, but eventually let out a huge roar of pain, trying to bring its fist out of the blade. It was all in vain because the entire length of the blade was inside its fist. More than three feet worth of hell-forged metal was impaled inside its fist, and it wasn't going to be easy to get out. Deniel held on with all of his might and pulled back so he wouldn't lose his ground and his sword inside its arm. Then, the Vulcan pulled as hard as it could, but instead of getting the sword out, it pulled its fist up, with Deniel still holding on to his sword. This made him fly in the air, but he still held on to the sword that was impaled in the Vulcan. The Vulcan swung its arm around, trying to get either Deniel, the sword, or both off of its hand. Then, it finally got both of them off with one last swing, making Deniel fly towards a nearby tree. That might have been considered a bad thing, but to Deniel: it was time for a counter attack.

Spells Used:

"Nephalem Wings!" Deniel sprouted his Nephalem Black feathered wings and landed on the tree trunk. He pressed his feet against it and push against himself, taking off at an insane speed. He held out his sword and slashed the Vulcan with it and then landed on another tree trunk with his feet. He sprung himself off once again and cut the Vulcan another time. He repeated this action over and over, cutting the massive Vulcan all over while making himself unharmed. He repeated this so much that he actually gained further speed, speed further than his wings were capable of making him travel alone. All it took was a few boosts. After one last slash, Deniel launched himself off of another tree trunk and flew to the sky instead. "This is it!" Deniel let himself reach a certain point in the sky, and then let himself come crashing down to the Vulcan's direction. He held his sword up-side down so that it would be the first thing to come down.

Deniel had position himself at an angle during this attack, so that when he came crashing down, it would be at the center of the Vulcan's chest. The impact made a large cloud of dirt, but Deniel won the fight nevertheless. His sword was stuck inside the Vulcan's chest, and Deniel gagged and coughed at the small cloud of dirt. Eventually, he was able to pull it out and walk off of the giant corpse of his foe. "Whew.......For a Vulcan, that was one intense fight." He looked back at the large corpse and almost smiled. "You were a worthy foe, I'll give you that. But now you're dead. Just like everything else that's opposed me."

"Now then. Back to finding that puppy." Deniel walked away from the Vulcan corpse, and luckily for him, he didn't lose track of which way he was heading. There were footprints on the ground that showed the original position of their spots, so he just headed the opposite direction his original footprints were facing. With all of the Vulcans out of the way, Deniel started to wonder how he was going to find the puppy now. If it was anywhere nearby, it sure as hell went away from all of the fighting and thundering footsteps. Not to mention, this entire forest was crawling with rustling sounds and noises that come out of no where. Unless this puppy was some kind of bad-ass, it would have ran off scared.

"Oh well. Might as well keep searching....." Deniel continued on his little job, and he couldn't wait to get out of these C ranked jobs. Sure, they were a lot more dangerous than the D ranked one. A lot more.....A LOT MORE, but they didn't satisfy his hunger. In the end, all he was doing was killing things just to retrieve something for someone. He guarded a house, found a cub, rescued a chick he didn't like......but then there was his Wedding Crashers one. That was something he found more worthy of fighting for all because it was an amazing fight, and he did it more than to just retrieve something.

Back on his subject of finding the puppy, he realized that the rustling in the bushes weren't making it any easier. What if those rustlings were the puppy? Or what if he was right all along and they were just fake? What if it somehow went into a tree? What if it found its way back home? All of these questions swarmed Deniel's head. He wasn't the brightest thinker because when it came to things other than combat, he wasn't the brightest person. In addition to that, there was the fact that he was always on different pages on a matter. The angel part of him screaming, the demon part of him yelling, and he couldn't decide which one was the better and more righteous choice. He never knew what to think about.....EVERYTHING.

'Monster Dice' :

While Deniel was in the midst of this thoughts, he wasn't paying too much attention to what was going on around him, and as a result, he was broken from his train of thoughts by seeing a large shadow in front of him. He looked up to see..........another Vulcan. Deniel wasn't expecting anything, so there was nothing to disappoint him here. He gave a disappointed look at the Vulcan and drew Nidhogg from its scabbard once again. The Vulcan did another predictable move, the same thing that Vulcans always did. Crush, punch, or swing. This Vulcan did that attack sequence in the exact same order, and Deniel dodged each and every swing with little to no effort. This gave him a small idea in order to try and amuse himself. He wanted to push this Vulcan to the limit of its temper, and see whether or not it'll pick up a new attack pattern.

The Vulcan swung at Deniel again and he jumped over it. It tried punching him in the face, and Deniel backed away from it. It tried smashing him with both of its hands on the ground, and Deniel side-stepped from it. This was repeated over and over again in different orders, but no matter what happened, the Vulcan could not touch Deniel. Deniel could see the Vulcan was starting to lose his patience, and that only meant that he was going closer and closer to see if these stupid creatures were capable of anything else OTHER than being complete idiots.

Spells Used:

Deniel kept dodging and the Vulcan kept swinging. The Vulcan was using up much more strength and stamina than Deniel was, because all Deniel had to do was move to the side or backwards. The Vulcan's temper was rising, and Deniel could tell by the look in its eye, and its frown growing harsher and harsher. Finally, after more and more of these attacks, Deniel's own patience was lost. "I think I've had enough of th-" The Vulcan finally let loose a different attack. It raised its palm up in the air and then smacked Deniel from above with it, which caught him completely off guard. Deniel was face-down on the ground, flat like a pancake. Then, the Vulcan did another thing that was completely different. Instead of punching Deniel in, it used its legs to stomp on Deniel, pushing him further in the ground.

This caused Deniel a lot of pain, but ultimately, a lot of twisted pleasure. He was finally glad that at least one Vulcan knew something other than swinging, smashing, and punching. In fact, this one actually used its powerful legs for work. After the second pound from its foot, Deniel had enough. He used his Nephalem Eyes in secrecy and quickly built up Nephalem Glory. Then, once the Vulcan landed the third strike and raised its foot again, Deniel stood up and threw the orb right at its face. The orb exploded in the Vulcan's face, causing it to temporarily lose its sight. Deniel used this opportunity to beat the Hell out of it.

Instead of using just his sword, Deniel also though he might as well try something new, just like the Vulcan. It was time to use the blade.......and the scabbard that came along with it. "You're going down!"

Spells Used:

"Haaaaaah!" Deniel smacked the Vulcan two times with his scabbard, and then performed an uppercut attack by unsheathing his blade, using the momentum from drawing it to create a more devastating blow, and then bringing the sword back down in another downward slash. Then, Deniel slashed the Vulcan several times as fast as he could before sheathing the blade and then leaping up to the Vulcan's head. Deniel smashed down his scabbard on the Vulcan's forehead, and finally the Vulcan regained its sight and senses back. It wasn't too happy for being outsmarted, and it being beat up like a rag doll by Deniel wasn't too appealing to it either. The Vulcan tried smacking Deniel out of the air, another new attack that it started to use, but Deniel jumped on its shoulders and got behind it instead. There, he drew his katana once again and jumped behind it, using his blade to cut a deep one inside of the Vulcan's back.

This Vulcan, just like the last one he faced in the group of three, also had some common sense, and realized it was being defeated no matter what it did. So, as a result, it took off running into the woods with plenty of blood dripping out of its back and front. It might not live long after that. Once again, Deniel heard rustling in the bushes, and he just about had enough of this stupid rustling. He was going to find out once and for all what was behind it. The next bush that rustled, Deniel ran straight to it and looked what was inside.

To his complete and utter surprise.....there.....in the bushes, the rustling sound that followed Deniel since he first entered the forest, was a small brown puppy that had an innocent look on its face. All along, Deniel was searching for something that was following him the whole time. "Wow.....well, I guess it's time to take you back to your owner."

Spells Used:

"Deniel, you have no idea how much this means to me. Deniel was back at the mansion in which the client lived in, and was once again sitting in front of her. He returned back to his normal state before coming here, meaning his wings were gone and his eyes were back to normal.....if red eyes WERE normal anyway. This time, she had her puppy in her lap, which she was petting. "Well.....I don't need to. Just knowing that it's finally safe and sound with its owner is good enough for me." Mrs. Hammelten smiled at Deniel, although he didn't return it back. He was always this way. "Not the happiest youngster, are you?" She asked Deniel, a little curious in why he always acted this way. "No.....I guess not. So, can I get my payment and go?"

Mrs. Hammelten, despite Deniel's somewhat rude attitude, nodded and grabbed her purse that was set on the table in front of her. She pulled out Deniel's reward with her old, withered hand, and then gave it to Deniel. Deniel counted up the jewels and gave a small nod of approval. He stood up and gave out a small bow to her, about to take his leave. "Be careful, young one. Great evil exists within you, even if you look to the light, all you'll ever come to face with is darkness. Do not let that darkness overcome you. Use it well." Deniel stopped at the door frame for the dining room. He had no idea what he just heard......what exactly did this lady know? Or was she just spouting out assumptions from his eyes? He turned to look at her from the corner of his eye. All she did was stare back with her closed, half-blind eyes.

Deniel proceeded to walk down the hallway to the entrance, where the guard was still there and keeping watch over his sword. "There's your blade again. But....before we depart, can I ask why I can't lift that thing and you can? Is it because you're stronger?" Deniel grabbed Nidhogg and put it in his belt slot once again, not answering him at first. When he opened the door, he gave a glance back at the guard and merely said: "Because only I can wield this blade. No one else can until I die." The guard stared at him, a little confused by what he just said. He took it all in as complete nonsense and baloney, but in reality, that was the case. No one except Deniel could pick up this sword, let alone swing it. Once he stepped outside, he let the cool breeze shift into him again as he took a deep breath and walked down the steps.


"Mission Complete....." He said, not sounding too enthusiastic about it this time.
