Heavy, a blonde haired man walked down the paths in the Mountain Village. It was not a famous place like how Peace Village is, or like how Magnolia is always the centre of attraction. It was where people who loved living with their families solely to spend time together either on the foot or up atop the mountains. True, one of the factors making it not the place for vacation was the way it was located. Surrounded by huge mountains with some of them touching the skies, people often not notice the village for the thick fog that often covers the mountains themselves, secluding the village from the outside world. Nevertheless, life in the village was just like how life in the other places; the people there had technologies too, meaning they were not some kind of ancient humans that still lives on using rocks and stuffs related.

The blonde, in the other hand, kept walking around the village. The paths he took was random; he had nowhere in particular to head to. Too many things had happened, and the fact that most of them hurt him so deeply sent him into a dilemma. The news of Harland’s death was one of the news that hurt him the most. The fact that the old hag of Crawford was close to him like a father actually made it painful to swallow the death of such precious person.

    Spoiler:

Guilt. The name of the feeling that Axel was trying to push deep into himself in an attempt to put all the blame on him. He could’ve been there to save him whenever Harland needed saving, but he wasn’t. Never once had the thought of Harland being in the brink of death pass through Axel’s often playful mind. Harland was like a father, and by thinking of him so Axel had put the trust for Harland to being able to protect himself onto the old man. But he was wrong. Harland was in the end, a human himself, and no human’s might is undefeatable. Immortality was not an option for anyone, and so was bearing grudge on oneself. Because he believes so, Axel had been putting all the blame again on himself, cursing himself for the lack of attention to Harland’s well-being, having trusted the old man more than he could trust his own hands.

It was by then Axel realized that he had wandered far from the pre-created path he was walking on. Stepping on the wild grass that could touch little of his calf, Axel was now 20 feet from the ground, having took the route to higher grounds on the mountains. He sat near the edge, resting his bottom on a huge rock, fading its grey and being covered in green moss. Axel took deep breaths now and then, looking at the skies as the past memories of him and Harland played through his mind like a montage, each of them bringing him closer to tears.

“Gramps..” Muttering, a drop of crystal coloured tear flowed down his cheek, slowly, falling onto the grass, landing on the small green leaf with a spring.

    Appearance:

People love mountains in absentia. That's what Aedre believed. Most people who admire mountains have never been there, atleast not properly.
The impression about mountains is not confined within the beauty of sights, although it is hard to imagine anything more impressive. Vast spaces lying in every direction you face, the tricks that perspective plays with your vision when you stay on the top of a cliff and look down, seeing earth incredibly far down, so that the sheer amount of transparent air between you and the bottom of this abyss makes it look hazy. The mountain tops, surrounded in clouds for all eternity, the long way up, littered with small and large rocks that constantly threaten to break your legs in case you make an awkward step. Mountain lakes, with water that is agonizingly cold and refreshing at the same time. The very need to go on for the majority of time – it all adds to this impression.
However, Aedre had left the serene security of the mountains some couple of hours ago, only to end up at what seemed like the threshold of the village. It was more like wandering, without an aim, without a purpose. She had been doing that a lot lately and today.... was no exception.
The untamed wind swept past, blowing away the bubblegum colored hair Aedre possessed, as her eyes simply wandered off into the the distance; nothing interesting in the periphery of her vision. The wild grass beneath could reach up a good length on her legs, as they too swayed along with the wind.
A strange scent wafted in the air though; along with the smell of the sweet grass. It was barely noticeable, but definitely there. Walking for another couple of minutes, the frosty orbs of blue caught sight of very familiar golden blonde hair.
It stuck out in the green surrounding... looking strangely familiar. It was a man, sitting on a rock, his eyes looking up at the brilliantly-blue sky.
About a dozen steps were taken in his direction and without a split second's delay.... her heart skipped a beat.
    'That's not possible!'
A vague assurance to her mind, the young woman immediately considered retreating... Even though, she really needed to know if it was him.
Aedre took in a deep breath of the warm air, trying to calm herself down.
'There's nothing wrong in checking out...'
Closing her eyes for a second, the Slayer pictured the real her. As her eyes opened up, Aedre's hair was no longer pink, but it was the same shade of blonde as of the man on the rock. The pink was.... well, just an illusionary trick.
Walking right up to him, Aedre cleared her throat, "A-Axel?" She only stuttered out a single name with a questioning tone. Only to realize a second later, how creepy she might have sounded if the man was someone else. However, what would be even creepier is the way they appeared at the moment. Two sides of the same coin.

Grief and guilt teamed up against him, tormenting Axel with waves of Harland and his mistakes. Sure, there were so many Axel did, but the one that involved Harland’s death was probably the biggest mistake of his whole life. He couldn’t come to mourn, it just won’t come out. His voice seemed to be stuck right on his throat, the air passageway in his neck closing in to prevent Axel’s voice from coming out to the world.

He didn’t count, but it probably had been ten drops of tears since he became overwhelmed by grief. Axel’s bottom seemed to be clinging on the rock with a strong grip; he couldn’t get on his feet even if he tried. The pain, the sorrow, the guilt.. they seemed to be ganging up on him, beating every corner of his insides leaving deep wounds in him. It hurt, it totally hurt. But then again, intervals weren’t an improbability even when one is having his or her moments.

“A-Axel?” Stuttering, but reaffirming. It sounded like a question, despite the obvious nervousness in the voice coming from behind. Axel wiped his tears, regaining composure of himself before turning his head only slightly to the left to be able to catch a look on his unexpected visitor from the tail of his eye. A woman. Sneaky, he didn’t even notice the sounds of footsteps approaching him. Or maybe it was loud enough, but Axel failed to catch the sound due to him letting his guard down.

Covering his sad tone with his usual calm one, Axel tried his best to keep the acting voice, not to break into tears again while talking to the stranger. Quite strange for a stranger though, she had the same eye and hair features as he did. Internally shrugging, the man decided not to be interested in such a detail, as it is common to meet someone that looks like you, or have the same physical features as you do.

    “Huh? Looking for me?”

As the man looked back, Aedre's doubts were only cemented into facts. Catching sight of his eyes, the young woman noticed how much similarity they held to hers; the same shade of calm crimson.
    "Huh? Looking for me?"
His questioning tone could have been more rhetorical than anything else, but Aedre still felt obliged to answer.
    "Yes."
It was blunt, indeed. But more because her mind was occupied by dealing with the foggy memories that clouded it with a sense of nostalgia. Before this day, she had rarely thought of him, mostly because she just didn't have the time to think. Most of her childhood with her foster parent had been spent in training and when he happened to disappear without a trace... She had grown a tad bit older and more sensible to actually think about past bonds. Bonds that didn't even exist, except for the ones of blood. Afterall, the Slayer had always preferred to set up emotional barriers all around her, thus never attaching herself to a particular person.
A small smile was forced onto her face, more like a courtesy than anything else.
The utopia spread infront of her was undoubtedly wonderful; with the fluffy white clouds playing some childish games with the blazing sun. There was a peaceful feeling to be  felt, one that simply overtook your spirit, making it soar from within you just like the eagles circling boldly over the mountain crest, each movement symbolizing their strength, beauty and courage.
"I'll just enjoy this view with you then..." The Slayer stated, as she sat down on the cold, wet grass beside her twin. It was already clear that Axel was completely oblivious to her identity, something that might be a good thing for now. Even though, it did bite her ever-so-slightly from the inside.
She could remember the strange quiver in his tone, the one that failed to exist in his words of before. They seemed to be heavy... almost melancholic. Was it possible for her highly optimistic brother of before? Had he changed after all this time?
There was only one way to find out, "I don't mean to intrude... But, is there something bothering you?"
She questioned, fully aware that there was a chance that the young man would just push her away now. He had all right to... for she was nothing more than a complete stranger to him.

The woman actually bore a resemblance to Axel himself. The more he watched, the more he thought that the two of them were actually closer to just being siblings. He had something to ask about that by the moment he pondered, but decided to shrug the question away. Axel wasn’t interested in knowing more about the world or anything at the moment; he just wanted to.. spend the time filling his mind with painful remorse. Gentle breezes of wind blew past the two, the gust brushing his cheek as it ran through the air around them. Axel sighed, turning away facing the same direction he was before.

The woman had suddenly decided to sit next to him for probably no reasons, but Axel didn’t seem to care much. He did not want to start conversing with the girl or anything, Axel didn’t feel like it. Not interested, Axel however noted the beauty she had with her blonde hair and slightly red toned eyes. But of course, he wasn’t in the mood for anything, so he’d just catch a glimpse of her then turn away yet again. Axel must admit, the spot he chose did has its own peaceful feeling. But too bad, he was too depressed and saddened by his awful mistake and idiocy, he couldn’t even enjoy the fresh air the mountain area provided.

Not giving a damn about the woman, Axel knew he had to reply when she suddenly started asking, probably trying to look friendly and stuff. “Hm. Sorry miss, but it has absolutely nothing for you to stick your nose to.” Straight and blunt, Axel turned his face to the woman, slightly expressing apology from his face. But then again, he was sure that his face indicated great loss greatly, and that the woman should be able to notice anyway. Letting out a sigh, Axel looked somewhere else, hopefully the conversation won’t continue. But if it were to do so, Axel wouldn’t have any choice but to respond. And next time, more politely.

"Hm. Sorry miss, but it has absolutely nothing for you to stick your nose to." The blonde man stated, trying to be as blunt as possible. His face subtly carried an apologetic look; contradicting to his words. However, this went unnoticed by the female sitting next to him. A seething breath left her lips as she gritted her teeth slightly, her calm exterior melting into nothingness. No matter how similar they looked to each other, the fact that they were opposite in their personalities was quite obvious.
Aedre possessed a calm exterior, as still as lake on a night; but it was always easy to set up a disturbance in the tranquil lake. All it needed was a small pebble. That's the role Axel's words played at the moment.
Her eye twitched for a split second, as her hand shot in an instant and smacked the top of her brother's head.
"You just don't recognize me do you? I'm guessing this should ring a bell you baka!"
Aedre's head turned to the other direction, her hand retracting into a haughty cross over her chest.
It was unlike normal behavior for the female Crawford, but it was the same for the male, wasn't it?
Her smack should have helped the young man to recognize her, atleast that's what she hoped. The Slayer used to do that a lot as a child; something that was part of the better of old memories.
She could easily conclude that Axel was regretting something, his demeanor said it all. Unlike him, Aedre was brought up to never regret her actions. Another reversed part of their relationship... but it wasn't all that surprising. The way of bringing up a child mattered a lot and the Tidal Dragon seemed to have played a better part here. In Aedre's opinion, that is.

All he did was give the blonde lady one straight, blunt, slightly sharp simple reply. What did Axel ever did to deserve a smack on the head? Axel fell off the large stone he was sitting on, his bottom sliding down the moss onto the green grasses. “Ouch!” Axel could hear the lady saying something about identifying herself to him with the hit, but he couldn’t care much about that at the moment; not when he was still feeling the stinging pain after the comical hit on his head. “Dammit, just who do you think you ar- wait, what?” Axel kept quiet for a while, slightly surprised.

    “Baka?”

His mind getting caught off guard, Axel felt words stuck on his throat; the surprise was a little bit.. too surprising for whatever he was about to say. Gulping down his words and saliva, Axel took a deep breath before trying to spill his proper sentence. “Uhm.. wait. Sounds familiar, but who the heck are you really?" Axel’s sadness seems to have faded away slightly, his mind and emotion now more interested in focusing to whoever the blonde was. True, she was identical to him. But questions kept flooding into Axel to give him the space to guess whoever she was.

“Yeah, I kinda forgot.” Scratching his head with an awkward giggle, Axel leaned against the rock, taking deep breaths after.

    "Baka?"
Aedre's words seemed to have finally knocked some sense into her twin, as he was busy gulping away the message that was on the tip of his tongue.
"Uhm.. wait. Sounds familiar, but who the heck are you really?"
Familiar? Hell, the Slayer couldn't believe that someone who was born alongside her could have such a pathetic memory. Turning to look back at her brother, Aedre noticed that he had slid down onto the green grass; most likely due to the little smack that she gifted him earlier.
'Stupid.' That was the only word floating in her mind.
On the upside, his sadness seemed to have melted away; distracted due to the fact that he was suddenly more interested in finding about Aedre's identity.
Scratching his head bashfully, an awakard giggle escaping his lips, the male blonde stated, "Yeah, I kinda forgot."
Aedre's eye couldn't help but twitch once again, her nails digging slightly into the palm of her hands.
"Forgot?" She questioned rhetorically, her voice dripping with forced malice while repeating the word that her brother chose. The Slayer had a good mind to hit the boy once again, maybe misuse the fact that she was older by a dozen minutes or so. But not being able to bring herself to that, the young woman gave out, "Aedre."
Gazing at the other side of the mountain, she let the little fear inside her into the open, "Don't tell me you forgot that name as well..."

The blonde lady seemed to get more infuriated by his statement saying he did forget whoever she was. Fists clinched, Axel saw them, and was ready to get another possible hit by the head. However, she looked like she decided to have a little bit of patience on the forgetful blonde man, freezing for a while as she tried regaining her composure. “Aedre.” Axel’s eyebrows bent for a slight second, indicating confusion. But it was all cleared by a gasp from the male, a sudden realization coming.

“Wait, you’re Aedre? THAT Aedre!?” Axel got his attention all on the lady called Aedre by then, forgetting about the slight pain on his head. “Man, you’re way more beautiful then you are in the magazines.” Axel, having mistaken that Aedre for the Aedre Irisis from the Sorcerer’s Magazine, went and took a look at every aspect of her. “But then again, you look better with blue hair.” Axel, playing along with his misunderstanding, stated. “So.. what are you doing here again?” Axel scratched his head, trying to remember the things she said earlier.

“W-wait.. don’t tell me.. by looking for me.. you mean.. you want to go out with me!?” Axel blushed, awkwardly stuttering while he spoke. Little did he know that he was making a mistake, and another possible hit may be coming for him.
