Before Fairy Tail:
Axel Rover was born into a wealthy family, living in a house in magnolia town. His family includes his father, Alex, who is a famous author of adventure novels, his mother, Sylvia, who is a well known S-rank wind mage of Fairy Tail, and his twin sisters, Julie and Julia, 5 years older than Axel, who aspire to be fashion designers. While most wealthy kids are selfish, want everything, and don't like doing chores, Axel was always being self-less and helping others, only wanted books to read, and loved doing chores, as he thought keeping the house clean was the moral thing to do. Every year on his birthday, April 26, his father would give him an adventure novel he had recently finished so that Axel would be the very first person to read it. On Axel's 10th birthday, his mother Sylvia took him to the Fairy Tail guild for a visit, since he was fascinated by mages and there abilities. Being able to see all of the magic of the mages of Fairy Tail, Axel had made it his goal to become a mage, and then join Fairy Tail. Since his mother always knew that Axel had the magic capabilities in him, she offered to teach him wind magic, and he gladly accepted. Within 4 years, at age 14, Axel had been able to use wind magic and the basics of the ability, including the ability to fly. every day, Axel and Sylvia trained to further improve his magic, and at the end of every week, they would spar, and his mother would win every battle, but Axel got better at using his magic every time they clashed.
One day, however, Axel's mother never came back from a job, which left Axel , his father, and his sisters worried. 2 days later a member of fairy tail came to there house and gave them the dreadful news that Sylvia had been killed during the job she was on, and that the killer is yet to be identified. Axel and his family was devastated by the new, and Axel locked himself in his room for a whole week, reading nothing but the children's books his mother used to read him. After a while, Axel and his family recovered from there shock, but the atmosphere between them was never quite the same without Sylvia. 2 months after Sylvia's death, Axel's father Alex started to write a biography of Sylvia, and all of her accomplishments as a wife, mother, and mage. He finished the biography before Axel's 15th birthday, so on that day he gave Axel the first copy, and he has carried it with him everywhere he goes since then, as a memory of his mother. 4 years later, at the age of 19, Axel joined Fairy tail with his wind magic having in power over the years. He plans to make as many friends as possible at the guild. He has also made his new goal finding his mother's killer, and avenging her, as he is convinced it is the moral thing to do.
