For some reason, Akiko loved the Forgotten Desert. There was something about it that made her keep picking jobs located there. Maybe it was the ruins, which showed her fascinating glimpses of the past, or possibly the shimmering sun above her, giving the air an almost mystical feel. Whatever it was, Akiko was certain of one thing; it didn't last past 5 minutes in the desert. As soon as she started to feel the heat, and the pressure, all of the former glory it held faded, replaced with a contempt with herself for ever taking the job. Trudging through the sand, Akiko wished with every step she was anywhere else. While her white cloak did a much better job of reflecting the heat than her black one did, it didn't make the journey any better.
At leas this time, Akiko wasn't alone. Travelling with Yuuto, the pair had taken up a rather simple job; to retrieve a stolen shipment of lacrima from a group calling themselves the "Cartel". It shouldn't take too much effort, and personally, Akiko wasn't even interested in the group itself, more the place they were hiding. Apparently the group had set up in some ancient ruins, and Akiko was desperate to take a look inside them. Approaching a large dun, Akiko looked down from the edge, laying herself on the side of it. Before her lied the ruins, a series of somewhat destroyed buildings surrounding a large dome. Most of the buildings were crumbled and wide open, easy for someone to hide inside. Currently, Akiko couldn't spot anything, but her view wasn't amazing from high up. Their main target was probably inside the large dome, the problem would be safely getting there. There could be any amount of people hiding inside the building, ready to ambush them. Keeping her eyes on the area, Akiko spoke to her partner. "What do you think Yuuto, how do you want to go about this?"
