Job; King of Thieves [Group - Akiko, Yuuto] Empty Job; King of Thieves [Group - Akiko, Yuuto]

Post by Akiko 28th May 2014, 2:41 pm

For some reason, Akiko loved the Forgotten Desert. There was something about it that made her keep picking jobs located there. Maybe it was the ruins, which showed her fascinating glimpses of the past, or possibly the shimmering sun above her, giving the air an almost mystical feel. Whatever it was, Akiko was certain of one thing; it didn't last past 5 minutes in the desert. As soon as she started to feel the heat, and the pressure, all of the former glory it held faded, replaced with a contempt with herself for ever taking the job. Trudging through the sand, Akiko wished with every step she was anywhere else. While her white cloak did a much better job of reflecting the heat than her black one did, it didn't make the journey any better.

At leas this time, Akiko wasn't alone. Travelling with Yuuto, the pair had taken up a rather simple job; to retrieve a stolen shipment of lacrima from a group calling themselves the "Cartel". It shouldn't take too much effort, and personally, Akiko wasn't even interested in the group itself, more the place they were hiding. Apparently the group had set up in some ancient ruins, and Akiko was desperate to take a look inside them. Approaching a large dun, Akiko looked down from the edge, laying herself on the side of it. Before her lied the ruins, a series of somewhat destroyed buildings surrounding a large dome. Most of the buildings were crumbled and wide open, easy for someone to hide inside. Currently, Akiko couldn't spot anything, but her view wasn't amazing from high up. Their main target was probably inside the large dome, the problem would be safely getting there. There could be any amount of people hiding inside the building, ready to ambush them. Keeping her eyes on the area, Akiko spoke to her partner. "What do you think Yuuto, how do you want to go about this?"

Yuuto wandered behind Akiko, a new teammate he had met just recently in the guild. It was strange how quickly the bond had formed between the two. They had made a team called "The Living Shadows", and were now pursuing their first mission, hopefully to make it as a success. He followed Akiko carefully and examined his surroundings. His godlike memorization took one image at a time, and eternally rested it within Yuuto's mind. It was a fascinating sight, indeed; an especial reason as to why Yuuto captured all of these moments. However, it seemed Yuuto acted too soon as, moments later, the two had encountered destroyed buildings. Yuuto walked over to them, and saw handprints and blood alongside them. "It seems as though some mass murder occurred here." Yuuto confirmed, "We better be careful, Akiko." Yuuto remained silent during this time, his tone of voice soft so no outsiders could take it under their advantage. Yuuto continued to move from building-to-building. What he saw exactly was rather disgusting; the way men and women were killed upon these sights too gruesome to even explain. Yuuto even saw one child, and felt as though he had to puke. However, with the aid of a pack of water bottles he brought beforehand, Yuuto drank one smoothly, and relaxed his body, preventing himself from performing something so gross and unattractive.

It was after the two had passed by at least a dozen buildings that Yuuto saw a dome ahead. He especially memorized this sight, and approached it gently. "This is where it all begins, isn't it?" Yuuto presumed. Normally, Yuuto wouldn't have talked this much. However, due to Akiko being a women, Yuuto had an exception no matter what. He investigated the area, and saw that the dome was in perfect shape. His jaw dropped and his pupils shrunk as a sign of such an amazing turnout. "How can this be?!" Yuuto thought aloud, "Everything around here is destroyed, yet that dome is in perfect condition!" This is when Yuuto regained himself, a dark expression on his face. He was prepared to be merciless, and slaughter whoever came in his way. It was obvious that the mission started here, and that Yuuto was being teased, already- something he despised. He clinched his right fist, and walked around the dome, attempting to find an entrance. "We're going to have to break and enter." Yuuto figured. He readied his magic to cause havoc upon the dome, and hopefully open it by force.

Akiko slid down the dune and followed Yuuto, entering into the ruins. As they walked, she kept her eyes up, analyzing the buildings and looking for anything that could possibly be hiding in them. She couldn't help it when a small smile crept onto her face; the buildings looked interesting and cool, they had an architectural style she had never seen before. Eventually, her eyes came onto the scenes of blood and death, her smiling fading and replaced with a blank expression. The scenes had no direct affect on her; she'd scene much worse before. However, that didn't stop a distaste from growing inside her. Continuing forward with Yuuto, she kept herself calm and composed, her eyes loosing their usual playful spark and instead presenting a dark expression; as if she was a hunter looking for the kill. "Keep quiet and listen; with the ruins this large they can easily come out from behind some rubble or a higher floor and ambush us. Listen for any movement or breathing, and look for any shadows or unnatural debris."

Akiko continued behind him, analyzing the dome as they reached it. "The entrance is most likely hidden in the rubble. This was probably built to serve as a food storage, which is why it'd remain sealed. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cartel fixed it up to serve as a base. Look at some of the areas of construction; they don't match the architectural style of the rest of the buildings. Some of the stone looks mildly discolored as well." Akiko turned around, looking back into the ruins of the surrounding town. Spotting a nearby building, she tentatively entered it, looking for any signs of an enemy. Seeing none, she hid behind the wall, calling out to Yuuto. "Create an entrance then come here. It'll most likely drive a few members out in a panic, and that will give us the chance to ambush them on our own terms. After that, I can scout ahead with Shriek before we enter." She prepared herself for an attack, knowing that Yuuto would probably agree with her tactics. Akiko rarely got serious, but seeing massacred people made her loose all interest in the job. It was such a waste; these people had no idea how to truly torment someone, and broke even the few standards Akiko had when it came to her sadistic side. It made her feel like she was a fine artist facing the work of a caveman, and she was about to show them true art.

With what he had heard from Akiko, Yuuto sensed a great amount of knowledge within his teammate. It was almost as if she had a hint of Memory-Make in her, as well. Yuuto memorized the area, and investigated the rubble underground. As he approached the dome, he could hear the sound of stomping, meaning there were many present inside the fine establishment. Yuuto cursed before he turned back to Akiko, and gestured her to follow him. Yuuto examine the material the dome was made out of, and realized that it was the sort of metal used to make posts; metal that reflected sound. With this now known, Yuuto slammed his right foot against the dome, which triggered a loud echo throughout the building. Yuuto now heard screaming and panicking, then a sound relevant to mobs marching towards the area. Yuuto grinned, then proceeded to dash over to a nearby area of the dome. He performed the same maneuver there to make it seem as though there were more than one person attempting to break into the dome. Yuuto wished to make an entrance by witnessing an exit first. In other words, he wanted to see where the mobs would charge from so when he would defeat them, the exit would be left open, and Akiko- alongside Yuuto- could enter the building successfully. Additionally, Yuuto had a spell prepared to take down the mobs with ease.

After at least seven bangs, Yuuto seemed to have driven those who were inside wild, and caused them all to even shout where the nearest exit was. He was now prepared to slaughter an entire building full of people; the lawless member of Tartarus, himself. However, to his surprise, the mob was quick, and his spell required close combat. In fact, Yuuto needed to be within a short-range between every person of this mob to activate his spell, and so Yuuto played the friendly assault card. He intentionally jumped in between crowds, and watched as the mobs immediately tried to kill him with weapons. Yuuto had memorized angles and directions perfectly to know where the weapons were aimed were aimed beforehand. With this noticed, Yuuto simply ducked, and watched as weapons accidentally collided with innocent workers, ending in a result of manslaughter. Yuuto admired his trickery, and so he followed by swiftly pressing his fingertips against his temples, and calling about numerous lightning bolts from the sky. There were enough lightning bolts produced to knock every member of the mob unconscious, which thankfully occurred with ease. However, Yuuto had now wasted his ace spell, which he left him pondering thoughts about the next move.

Job; King of Thieves [Group - Akiko, Yuuto] Empty Re: Job; King of Thieves [Group - Akiko, Yuuto]

Post by Akiko 12th June 2014, 12:48 am

Akiko watched as Yuuto started banging on the wall of the dome. She thought he'd simply try to smash it down, but instead he tried to bait them out. She wasn't exactly sure how she felt about that. On one hand, it showed them the entrance without having to smash open the wall. However, it now mean that everyone inside knew that they were coming, and hand a chance to prepare for them. Regardless, what was done was done. She decided to let Yuuto take control of his own mess; she'd step in if it looked like he was having a hard time. However, he seemed to be doing just fine. He handled the mob expertly and efficiently, felling them in one rough swoop. Watching Yuuto take them all down without breaking a sweat brought a small smile to Akiko's face, slowly growing into a large grin. She moved from her hiding space towards him.

When she reached him, she gave him a big grin, her excitement clear on her face. "That was amazing Yuuto! You took them all down, so ruthlessly, so cleanly, so easily. There wasn't any mess or over antics. It was perfect!" She walked over, bending down above one of the bodies to analyse it briefly before turning back to Yuuto. "I clearly picked the right partner; you know just how to excite me~" Akiko's playful spark returned to her eyes. Her passion for pain re-ignited, she traced their footprints back to their exit- and her and Yuuto's now entrance.

Hidden amongst the rubble was a small doorway, at first looking like an entrance to the basement of the building they were in. The inside was dark, only a few torches farther down the hall providing any light. Akiko knelt down next to it, reaching for Shriek's beak. Channel her magic, she felt her life force be ripped from her into the bone, flying free from her grasp and animating the construct. The small owl formed in front of her, looking up at her and awaiting orders. "Go through down the hallway and follow any lit paths, return to me at any signs of people." The creature made no indication of acknowledgement, but forced itself into the air to follow her commands. Green energy sparking through it's bones, the creature magically flew threw the air, going down the hallway she had found.

Bird's Eye then took effect, allowing Akiko to see the insides of the hallway. It was dirty and clearly uncared for, cracks along every wall. Besides the few torches along the wall, there was no sign that anyone was there at all. Eventually, the construct came to a closed door a few meters down the hall, now beginning it's return to Akiko. Temporarily returning to her own vision, she turned to Yuuto. "There's no one in the hallway, and no place for them to hide. However, there's a single door at the end of the hall. The chances that the mob closed it behind themselves in the state they were in before is low, so that most likely means there;s an ambush waiting for us at the end of the hall. I want to keep Shriek active so I can keep scouting ahead, which means you'll need to take the lead again for this fight." She stood up, Shriek now returning to her and landing on her shoulder. She gave Yuuto a smile. "Can you give me another show and get me going? I'll do the best I can to support you from the back."

Yuuto became infuriated when he heard Akiko compliment him. "This isn't any form of art, child. This is fate." Yuuto explained as he picked up one of the dead bodies by the neck. He squeezed the neck that a loud crack could be heard in the collar bone. "This is the fate of one such as I. One should loathe, hate and forget me, though there are fools in this world, you see. Come across an enigma, a man that is one with the shadows, and the shadows shall feast on you. Now, these men suffer hell- whatever the heck that has to offer." A dark grin appeared on Yuuto's face after this comment. Every time he even moved a single finger, Yuuto felt an ounce of his old self lost within the world of nothingness. All that remained of him now was a pure devil. Yuuto knew he would one day have to pay up for his sins, and probably encounter an afterlife worse than those of whom he killed- an eternal world of suffering; possibly beyond hell.

Albeit, now was not the time to fantasize. The entrance was now wide open, though it seemed Akiko took the fast approach. Yuuto followed Akiko while she travelled near the door, and was curious as to what sort of environment this door led to. What would be beyond this point. Yuuto ensured himself to memorize all areas ahead; one at a time. Unfortunately, anger corrupted his memory as it seemed he had already made another Tartarus member idolize him. To think that one of such evil would idolize another- pathetic. Again, however, while he pondered these thoughts, Yuuto found himself in his own world until an owl appeared, and searched the entranceway for any further signs of investigation. So an ambush was about to go down, huh? Interesting. Yuuto dashed down the staircase, and broke the door open, only to find some odd sights ahead. What he saw were some strange creatures, all of which looked nothing like an ordinary Mage, and all in possession of killing intent, which they wished to gladly express upon the two, apparently...you know...in return for Yuuto's act. Yuuto prepared himself to shed even more blood in this miserable environment, and corrupt this world further than it already was.
