Kyll ran holding on to a shirtless Marick's wrist. "We gotta get out of here, Marick. There's too many of them around." She was right. The shadows were all of over the place. They seemed to close in mostly around Kyll. The grip on Marick's wrist seemed to tighten as Kyll ran. "Look I know I'm an ace, but this is a losing battle for me. It's best we run," Kyll said finally. She continued to run through the city hopping over obstacles here and there. Her black hair swayed in the wind as she continued running. This was definitely an issue considering that Kyll's normally closed eyes were wide open in fear. "Someone in Savage Skull... I don't know who... is after me." Kyll didn't know that her pursuer was actually guildless at the moment. Most of all these shadows were his making. "Where...." Kyll stopped running for a second. The blackness began to surround them even further. "Marick... I don't know where to go now." She put her hands on her head and let go of Marick's wrist. She started to tremble as she looked around in the dark. "Where do we go?"

The sudden panic that had overcome Kyll was not something Marick could have anticipated. She'd gone from being almost naive and excitable to being paranoid and terrified in a matter of seconds, and the change had caused Marick to immediately react the way he always did to such scenarios; he became protective, running alongside the Eclipse Soul maiden while his eyes darted around searching for where this threat might come from. It didn't take long to see, but unfortunately he knew almost immediately that to fight whatever it was would be a losing battle. Just within the immediate vicinity there were numerous shadows flitting about, far more than even the Ace's of their respective guilds would be able to contend with.
The pair suddenly came to a halt. They were surrounded by a blackness that made even the Solitaire feel uneasy a feeling that was only increased as Kyll let go of his wrist and stood trembling beside him, asking him where to go. Truth be told, he had no idea. Whilst he was used to being surrounded, this was usually by living, breathing people whose actions could be predicted. This wasn't something Marick was used to at all. "...we don't have much choice Kyll...either we stand and fight, something you seem certain would end badly...or we try something potentially foolish with the same result."
This foolish thing was to attempt to jump over the shadows that were slowly slinking towards them, something that Marick had a strong feeling wouldn't work. His hand moved to the hilt of his sword, more for reassurance than anything else. He could hear Kyll's panicked breaths as much as he could feel her magical power; power that was being dwarfed by the fear of whatever or whoever resided in these shadows. Power that surpassed his own considerably. He stood firm nonetheless, waiting for the younger mage to make a decision. If she didn't...he'd have to make it himself.

Kyll you need to run! Get out of there! Kyll heard shout in her head. She looked up at the domes of shadows about to close in on her confused.
"Einrich...?" She thought out loud. Her thoughts flew straight to where she was. The area began to get darker. "You're right..." Kyll shook her head. Marick was right, they needed to run. Kyll gripped a fist making her home made light torch punching towards a few shadows. They dissipated. She made a path for the two to run forward. Something didn't feel right about that path. She looked at Marick and pointed. That was their only hope for escape. "Look... I know this is going to be hard to do, but it seems like light makes these things disappear. So if you have something with light... we can take them out." She grabbed Marick by the wrist to run in the direction she cleared out sending out beams of light towards shadows that would close in. She punched the shadows out of the way with her free hand and her eyes went back to their closed nature. She carried a solemn look on her face. "Look if we lose, you need to tell Zenshin what happened. It's going to be bad. Real bad if we lose." Kyll kept a look forward. "And you will need to send a message to my guild if we lose." Kyll looked at Marick and gave a warm smile masking over the amount of realization that her death was coming nearer and nearer. "I'm certain that you guys will be able to take care of me."

Marick's hand shot out in front of him as soon as he was requested to create some light. His entire deck of cards shot out from his deck holder at the movement and began levitating around him, before he plucked three cards out of the air and replaced the rest to his deck. "Your wish is my command." he replied calmly, before taking Kyll's wrist in his own...at least, it would have been her wrist were she not considerably shorter. The differences in height resulted in him instead gripping her hand tight, although right now he didn't particularly care. The three cards he'd selected were now once again levitating before him, as if begging to be played. He gripped two of the cards first, casting them before casting the third immediately afterwards.
The first two - the twin jokers - created a pair of doppelgangers; one with red eyes, one with black, stood either side of their caster. The third card was a 5, the card being flung to the floor once cast. The doppelgangers replicated Marick's exact movements, with the cards bursting into flames and shooting into the air creating a dazzling light display. However, Marick and Kyll weren't there to see it. The effects of the Black Joker took place, sending the two mages 40 meters away from where they were just stood. Marick looked around at Kyll as they reappeared, a calming smile on his face. "I will inform him...but don't talk so negative. It'll take more than a few shadows to catch us."

'It seems you're right..'
A cold yet monotone voice pierced through the night behind them. And when they would turn around the would see that the darkness around them started to grow again. Only this time the shadows would take up the shape that had a creature like appearance. The were all around them, watching them from out the dark alleys, or staring at them from a roof top. But without even the slightest sound. They just stood there, looking at the two mages with their empty stares. Emptiness, that was just what they were. A phantom appearance that gave off no feeling at all.
Then from out the dark mass appeared an enigmatic looking man, who was entirely covered with a dark purple hooded cloak. And he spoke with the same cold voice that they heard before.
'How foolish of you to think that you could even stand a chance.. Kyll Vie. Now come with me, before I rip your companion apart..'

Kyll turned around and instinctively sent a spin kick to knock Frederick back. "So it was you..." Kyll took a step back and gripped her fists. "Alright Mr. Shadowman," her aura began to increase around her as her shroud of cosmic magic covered her. "What are you after?" Kyll knew it had something to do with the information Faust had passed on to him in her diary.
Don't fight him! Just escape!
Kyll shook her head. She was more fixated on taking him down with her own magic more than ever. Kyll was clueless as to who she was fighting though. Who ever it was dealt heavily with Savage Skull, especially since the lady at the window who gave her the passport called her 'Your Majesty.' "If it's that parasite you're after, you're going to have to KILL me before you make me do your bidding." Kyll glared at the figure that stood there.

Marick's hand moved to his sword again, his eyes scanning the surroundings. Kyll seemed to be up for a fight but, as far as gambling went, Marick didn't like these odds. This 'Shadowman' as Kyll had put it was confident. Although there was no expression in his voice, the Solitaire could tell that this was no bluff. These shadow creatures were numerous and of impressive size. If they went for this hooded figure then the creatures would probably let rip. Even with his experience on his side, he'd still not stand a chance against this sort of foe, not even with Kyll beside him. "Kyll...are you sure about this?" His voice remained calm even despite his slight uncertainties. He would fight against the odds if he had to, but getting away was the best option available to them at this point in time, and it might still be just about possible.
The Sabertooth Ace looked over the figure and his fist clenched and unclenched as he readied himself for whatever might come at him. He didn't say a word to this man. There was no need to. The man's actions were speaking far louder than his words, so Marick assumed the same would go the other way around; words would most likely be futile.

Replied Frederick to Kyll's bravery. Bravery that would seal the fate of her and her companion.
As if his answer was some sort of signal the shadow creatures would descend upon Kyll and Marick. Storming at them without even a sound. Well not really stormed at them, because of their phantom like appearance they didn't seemed to run at them. They just appeared. yet they were solid enough to deal damage with their claws.
While Frederick watched the ominous display of his minions, his own aura started to intensify. Creating an entire black mass around him. And from it ten featureless tentacles appear, that twirled around the dark hooded man. Until they were all raised a few meters above the Frederick's head, there they suddenly would stop in their movement and took aim at the two mages that were fighting off his minions.
The the moment happened that the jet-black straps dashed forwards, crashing through some of the building that were aligned with the dark alley Frederick was standing in. Each of them homing in on Kyll and Marick.

The straps wrapped around Kyll. Her eyes opened. I wonder if Marick will tell my guild what happened... Would they even come after me? Kyll thought. The closed eyes mage could feel the hopelessness to the battle. "Let him go..." Kyll said making her aura show. She looked at Marick. "Be like me." She said with a giggle. Hopefully he would get that she was saying close his eyes. She glared at Frederick. "Sun Gazer!" Her aura began to shine bright and then spread across the view. Like the sun itself had come to the ground just to have a peaceful conversation with Kyll. She looked up at Marick and grabbed his wrist again. "Let's get out of here." She turned around and didn't notice her father's journal falling out from the back of her kimono top. "You need to tell my guild master, Zeno, what is going on," Kyll said with a warm smile. "I might wind up caught, but I'm making sure you make it out of here alive, Marick." She looked back at the dark mage. "So..." She took out a piece of paper and slipped it into Marick's pants pocket. "Give this to Zenshin and Zeno. They will know what to do... Hopefully." The closed eyes mage gave him a kiss on the cheek then held her nose. The blood spewed out of her nose, but it was minimal. She turned around towards the on coming danger. "He won't hurt me... much." Kyll said. "But you need to get out of here."

Marick clenched his eyes shut at Kyll's demand and was thankful he had done so as the light had still filtered through. Had he not understand Kyll's warning, he'd probably be blind. She gripped his wrist and pulled him away from Frederick, getting a fair distance away from the cloaked man before coming to a halt. Marick listened to what Kyll had to say, that he needed to inform Zenshin and Zeno about what was happening, about how she'd probably wind up caught but he'd be safe. She placed a note in Marick's trouser pocket, telling him to take it to the two Wizard Saints before doing something unexpected and kissing him on the cheek. The Solitaire's face flushed ever so slightly; usually he was drunk when a woman kissed him.
Now he was torn. He wanted to stay, to fight and to protect Kyll. He felt it was his duty to do so in the absence of anyone else. But then there was Kyll's request to go and get assistance. Zenshin would most likely condemn him if he left, but Marick had little choice. As much as he hated to admit it, this mage was out of his league. Calling upon Zenshin and Zeno to help would better the odds. He just had to hope that Kyll was right, and that no harm would come to her if she was caught. "Tch...some first date this has turned out to be...I was going to escort you home like a gentleman." he replied calmly, before putting his hand on Kyll's shoulder, taking a moment to glance back at where they'd just been ambushed. "...be strong Kyll Vie...I'll get Zenshin and Zeno, and then we're coming back for you."
In an ideal world he would've been able to do what he was about to do and would be able to take Kyll with him. However, if he did, he had the feeling Frederick would follow and deal immeasurable damage to everyone and everything as he gave chase, and even then Marick may not be able to actually get away. He turned to glance at the shadows once more before willing forth the power of his lineage; Chimera Blood. Shining white angel wings would shoot out of his back, receiving a quiet 'tch' from the Solitaire as they did so. This couldn't be cheesier even if I wanted it to be. he thought to himself, giving Kyll one last smile before taking flight, narrowly avoiding the shadows as they came for him again.
That bastard will regret this...

The blinding light dispersed the darkness around them for a few moments, enough so that Kyll and the other mage could catch a moment of breath. But when the light faded away and the darkness took hold again the dark minions would once again descend upon to the two mages.
Yet the male one manage to slip away by forming two angelic white wings on his back, and with a powerful flap of each of his wings he took off. While Frederick's minions were clawing at him, trying to catch him before he was out of range.
Frederick on the other hand was holding his arm against his face, as if that could prevent the light that was blinding him. It was infuriating him, all of this was getting quite bothersome and was working on Frederick's nerve. When he read the diary he figured that this Kyll was just another damsel in distress, yet when he found her she and the other guy managed to fend him off long enough for on of them to escape.
When the light faded and Frederick's visibility returned, he would speak with a rather different tone in his voice then usual.
'You foolish little pest! Not only will I hurt you, but after I am done with you I will personally drain the souls of all those you hold dear! Starting with the one that just flew away!'
With his arm stretched towards Kyll, Frederick would unleash a wave of his minions together with the black tentacles upon Kyll. Some of the tentacles twirled over the ground while other homed in through the air. And as Marick would look down he would see the mass of darkness surround the girl he was with.

"Why is it all you mages stuck in the darkness think we legal mages would just surrender to you with out a fight?" Kyll slowly walked back looking around her for any sort of way out. This was going to be a bit more difficult than she thought. On top of that, the spell he activated made those few steps backwards her last. "Tell me... Did Faust tell you about me? What is it that you wish for?" Kyll thought it best to try and talk some sense into the guy about the repercussions of using the wish faeries. This must've been what the inverted tower was about when Zeno gave her that fortune telling. However what was needed to solve it was 'teamwork.' Kyll knew that she wasn't in a team now, she was going to lose. Kyll sighed as she was stuck. "I don't know what you're after, but this is not the way to go about it."

The tentacles wrapped around Kyll and would forcefully drag her back in front of Frederick. Where he kept her just a few inches off the ground so that he could speak to her directly. Now he had a good chance to look at her too, she wasn't quite how he imagined her. With her jet-black hair and smooth skin. But that wasn't the issue, in the diary she portrayed herself as someone in pain and in need. Definitely someone who couldn't defend herself. Yet here she was fighting him every step on the way
'Faust.. yeah. He gave me that journal.. not that it matters. What only matters is that I want your power, and what the consequences of that are. Are not of my concern...'

Kyll spat at Frederick's face. "You're an idiot," the tentacle squeezed around her body. She winced a bit. She could feel the burn from the burns and blisters on her body. She opened her eyes and looked him in the face. "If YOU don't care, I care." She looked him in the eyes. She carried an anger in her face that he couldn't even fathom. "You can't let them out. They'll trick you. They'll hurt you. They won't give you what you want only what you SAY you want. All wishes come at the price of your soul." Kyll winced as the tentacle tightened around you. "Is that what you really want? No soul? Jealousy of those who have one? You want every naive person to make wishes to something that shouldn't even be on this plane?!"

Frederick slowly wiped off the girls saliva from his face, and with one fell swoop towards the ground he would discharge it off his hand. He would stare at Kyll with a vile look, and even though she couldn't see it because of his hood. She would probably feel his intent. Then with a quick strike against her, with a hard punch right in her stomach.
'If that is what it takes, then it is a rather small price to pay for what I will gain! In matter of fact I don't care what will happen to other even the world, if it was up to me I would plunge it in an eternal darkness. Now, I have enough of you….'
With a small gesture of his hand retracted all the tentacles dropping Kyll on the ground. But the moment she would make contact with the hard exterior street of Rose Garden. Frederick would send a black mass at her, that would surround her. And suffocate her, just enough so that she would pass out.
'Foolish girl, you have yet to understand true darkness…'
With that Frederick walked back into the darkness of the alley, but not before his foot kicked against a small yet light object. Looking down he saw way appear to be some sort of small booklet, before he tried to reach down he quickly threw a look back at Kyll. Not that it was necessary but it was more a force of habit.
