The soft sound of magical wings gliding through the air was all that could be heard for a little while as a small group of three traveled through the Eastern Magnolian forest. "Hmmm...", a beautiful girl muttered as she studied a vague map of the forest. The girl looked up at the trees around the pathway and then back down to the map. "Rene, are we lost?", an adorable small orange cat said as he landed on her shoulder. Serene blushed a little and closed the map suddenly, giving the cat a nervous look as she blushed. "N-No! Of course not! I know exactly where we're going!", she said with a little stutter. Garfield sighed as he flicked his tail around. "Yep, we're lost", he said as he giggled at her. Serene blushed more as she looked over to Heero. She was struck silent for a moment as she watched him. He was looking up at the clouds, thinking about goodness knows what. His long blue hair was swaying gently in the soft breeze that was passing through the air. Her eyes ravaged his body as she couldn't help but look him over, a blush on her face.

"H-Heero!", she called out in a slightly embarrassed tone that Heero should know too well. After taming her vocal cords, she smiled a little. "D-Do you hear a village somewhere close?", she asked him. She knew because he was a Dragon Slayer that his senses were greatly enhanced, and since the village they were looking for made it's living by logging, their loud industry should be audible...

As Heero replied to her request, she sighed a bit. It was a tad shrewd, but he still helped. As her man and his Exceed sounded off at one another, Serene focused on the mission ahead. Instead of listening to her partners prattle on, she concentrated on the sounds of the village. After a while they came upon a little budding settlement. Serene looked around in awe as she saw the village unfold around her. There were comfy looking brick-houses everywhere with steam toddling up the chimneys. Serene blinked as she - as a girl would - suddenly began to imagine herself and Heero in a little cottage like those around them.

~~~ "Mommy! Mommy! Look, there's Daddy!", an adorable little blue-haired girl ran over to Serene. The little girl and her mother were out in the front of the house, building a garden outside. "Oh? He is?", Serene said as she stood and wiped dirt off her knees. Sure enough, Heero was walking up the road. He was clad in jeans and work boots but his shirt was over his shoulder along with his lunch pail. His hair was up in a ponytail and, in Serene's eyes, his muscles were gleaming in the sunlight. Serene felt her chest - hell, her whole body - fill up with love as she saw him. When he came up and got into the yard, the little girl ran up to her father and he caught her in his arms with the reaction time that only Heero could achieve. Serene watched as the little girl welcomed her father home and pointed to the garden where her and her mother had constructed a wonderful garden. After Serene greeted her husband - as you could see by the ornate wedding band on her finger - she kissed him hello. No words were spoken, yet so many were at the same time. Heero was about to say something to his wife when he noticed a rainbow-colored flower at his feet. He bent down to pick it up and asked how they grew a flower like this when he was interrupted by the sound of a little boy calling out something. "RAINBOW BOMB!". The multi-colored flower suddenly began to shine brightly and then exploded in a burst of light. When the light faded, the couple and their daughter were shrouded in a forcefield. Serene blinked at looked at her daughter, who was glowing brightly. One could just make out the subtle flashes of electricity that ran over the shield as well. The woman and her husband smiled as they congratulated their child. When the shield fell, there was a boy with lightning yellow eyes and jet black hair sitting on his head. He groaned as he let two balls of rainbow light die in his hands. "Dangit! You ruined it! I was finally going to beat Dad!", the boy called out in annoyance. The girl hopped out of her father's arms and bolted over to the boy with lightning quick speed, hitting him on his head as she called him an idiot. "Serene, I love our life...", Heero said as he hugged her. Serene smiled to him as she kissed his cheek. "I am too, sweetie", she said as she leaned against him. They were about to walk over to their kids as, but she suddenly fell down gripping her head. Heero caught her instantly and started calling out her name. "Serene! Serene!!"...

"Serene! Serene!", Garfield called out as he sat on her chest, his tail tickling her cheek. Serene blinked as she took her hand off her head. She blinked a couple times and looked around as she realized that she had ran into a light pole after daydreaming so hard. Serene stood up quickly, claiming she was fine over and over again as she blushed heavily.

Serene held Garfield in her arms as she and he both trailed behind Heero. He was...so serious... The girl hadn't seen Heero this way very often. This was probably the second or third time to be honest. He just...took charge. It must be really useful being a Dragon Slayer... She thought as she held the bobbing Garfield. He was nuzzling against her chest, but she didn't really care. At this point she just wanted him to be quiet. But of course, he just had to burst out and start picking on Heero. The girl pulled Garfield against her with all her strength, her arm around his neck. "Shhhhhut up, you!", Serene hissed down at him as he gasped for air.

In truth, seeing Heero like this was rather..."exciting" for Serene. It was something she didn't see often as stated before. She knew it was kind of bad of her to be thinking like that under these circumstances, but she couldn't stop thinking about him suddenly ripping his shirt off and attacking a Vulcan, while his muscles glistened in the daylight........

Garfield looked up at Serene and blinked in contemplation as he saw a blush form on her cheeks and grow. His tail swished back and forth as he looked from her to Heero.

"!!!", appeared above his head as he realized just what she was thinking. "Rene! You liiiiiiiike it when Heero is serious, don't you?!", he asked LOUDLY as he laughed even LOUDER. Serene responded by choking him once again, her hair falling over her eyes as she gave him a death stare.

Serene watched on silently as she followed Heero. When he brought his hand up to make her stop, her eyes whipped back and forth as her grip on Garfield tightened a little. Even the cat was a bit on edge as he looked back and forth as well. She treaded lightly over next to him and kneeled down beside him, setting Garfield down on his own feet. She leaned forward to see where Heero was pointing, and the sound of Garfield's wings could be heard as he hovered in mid-air, looking as well. "Alright........I pretty much want to shred these guys, but----that's now how Fairy Tail does things....I won't kill wildlife even if---they're perverted apes." The look in his eyes... Serene shivered in fear for a moment. She had never seen Heero like that. That coldness was terrifying. She could only hope that he would never look at her like that...

When he had begun to speak, a scream could be heard from the clearing ahead. "That must have been one of the girl's!", Serene said as she tried finding a clear line of sight. "LOOK OUT! ABOVE!", Garfield yelped as his tail wrapped around Serene's waist with lightning quick speed. Serene looked up in time to see two Wood Vulcans - one with a sort of woodling demon riding on their shoulders - burst from the upper leaves. As Serene began fly back thanks to Garfield, she waved a hand towards Heero. A forcefield whipped up around his arm and pulled him right along with them. They skirted backwards about ten or twenty feet before Garfield let Serene go and she did the same to Heero. She eyed the monsters in front of them cautiously as she stood behind Heero.

"!!!", appeared over one of the Vulcan's heads as he noticed Serene. "Pretty woman! We get catch another pretty woman?!", he seemed to be asking...the demon? The shrewd looking creature giggled as he pulled out a pair of daggers from his pockets. "Yeah, you can have er! Just gimmie what ever shiny things the other two have!", he said. The Vulcan's hooted for a moment and then their legs tensed for a moment before they shot forward with amazing speed. "Heero, think you can take the two apes, while I go for the demon?", Serene said as a magic circle appeared underneath her feet.

Serene dashed to the left as soon as Heero's power spiked up. She didn't want to be brushing her hair for the next three days to get the fuzziness out like the last time she stood close to him when he did that spell. She skidded to a halt as the forcefield at her feet disappeared. A small dust cloud lingered at her feet as she watched the troublemaking demon jeer at her. "Just what do you think you are gonna do, girly? I'm a big bad-".

"Shut up".

The goblin was taken aback for a moment. No one had ever interrupted his witty banter before... Who was this girl? How could she be so rude? "Y-You shut up!", he called out as he reached for his pack. His eyes trained on her body until their eyes met. He froze. Her...the look on her face...it was so cold. "What's your deal, girly?! Why do you keep looking at me like that!", he said as he began to get a bit pissed off. Her hair fell over her eyes as a translucent magic circle bloomed from her feet. "You had those monsters", she spat, "Try and lay a hand on my akachan!", she said in a low growl as the seal at her feet pulsed. "Force Armor".

A thick swath of force energy rippled at her feet before it began weaving beautifully around her body, encasing her in a thick layering of forcefields. The goblin cackled at her before he reached into his bag and picked up a stick of dynamite. He lit the fuse with a lighter in his pocket and quickly chucked the explosive at Serene. The girl jumped upwards, knowing that the force of the explosion would go outwards before upwards. Still, the shockwave of the explosion rocked her thoroughly, and she fell to the ground with a thud. The goblin was so busy laughing that he didn't even notice her get back up and shoot to the side with amazing speed until she was right behind him.

She wasted no words on him as she reared back and dug a powerful punch right into the small of his back, sending him sprawling into the ground. He lay limp there as his chest feel unevenly. "Laugh now...", she said under her breath.

"Cry later..."

His voice surprised her, drawing her out of her adrenaline fueled state almost instantly. His tone, his aura, his essence, it all flowed into her for a moment, canceling all around her. Her Force Armor shimmered for a moment before unraveling safely back into her feet where it had risen. She dropped her raised arm and turned around to Heero. She caught a cold look in his eyes, but she could tell it wasn't aimed at her. It was focused on the monster she had just clobbered. But why? Was he that adamant about protecting her? Why would he do that?

The girl smiled a little and nodded, her hair bobbing effortlessly as he lifted her arms to examine her closer than most would. Some girls would definitely mind it if he was so close to them, and then, others wouldn't, seeing as how Heero was a Sorcerer's Magazine model. Serene? She didn't mind either. Because she...

"He liiiiiiiiiiiiikes you~!"

The words made her cheeks turn crimson. The hovering cat looked like a orange...cute...blob as he puffed his cheeks out with the help of his paws. The girl looked down at her feet and up to Heero as she smiled just a little bit. "I like him too...", she whispered just low enough so she knew Heero would hear it with his enhanced hearing but Garfield wouldn't. The girl walked over to Heero and wrapped her arms around him tightly for a moment. She poured all her emotions into that hug. She held onto him for dear life in that moment. After her face had returned to normal, she smiled a little and then looked around. "The girls should be around here somewhere... We need to draw out more Vulcans to find them, or this might take a while...", she said as her index finger tapped her chin daintly.

Serene ran her fingers through her hair to make sure it was still straight. Sometimes when she used Force Armor, there would still be residual energy in her hair that would cause it to float around oddly. She didn't really mind it, she just thought it might be kind of distracting. While she was combing through her hair she saw Heero's head snap to the side and his nose flared gently. "I smell water." Serene raised an eyebrow. Did water have a smell? Or was it just something instinctive because of his heightened senses? The brown-haired girl didn't doubt her boyfriend.

As the three of them began moving east through the forest, Serene watched Heero as he guided them through the foliage. Flashes of their earlier encounter whispered through her mind. He looked so fearsome when he took on that Vulcan. He wasn't phased in the slightest. A slight blush came to her cheeks as she thought about other times Heero looked... intense. She felt a crawling feel come up her arm and she squirmed a bit. He always had that effect on her...

Serene felt the feeling again...then again....and again... She knew Heero made her feel certain kinds of ways, but what in the world... The girl looked over at her arm and saw a big, fat millipede sitting on her forearm staring at her. She yelped a bit and swatted the thing away. She watched it fly into the leaves and disappear. She shuddered a bit and rubbed her arm where the millipede had just been. Serene remembered why she liked the city now.

The three went on in silence until something like a low chattering could be heard in the distance. Serene made sure that she was on guard as they moved closer to the sound. Soon they made it to the edge of a clearing. Serene looked over Heero's shoulder as they watched Vulcans and Goblins squabble about. All of a sudden, however, the ground began to thump gently before it started rumbling powerfully as a massive Forest Vulcan emerged from the forest. All the other Vulcans and even the proud Goblins snapped to attention when he arrived. He barked down at them, garbing out insults here and there, before he said something about women and a cave. The only cave Serene saw was the cavernous one across the lake. "Looks like we found their hideout." Serene nodded to Heero. She moved a bit closer to him as he leaned back to whisper to her and Garfield. "Alright....I'll handle everything outside of the cave; you and Garfield go in and try and sneak the girls out from under that behemoth's nose." Serene swallowed the lump in her throat. She...she could do this! She won't let Heero down!

"If anyone can get them out without being noticed, it's probably you right?" Serene smiled a little and pumped her arm downwards and she nodded with a determined look on her face. "You can count on me!"

As Heero jumped out into the open, Garfield hovered over to Serene and wrapped his tail around her. She looked back at the cat and nodded to him. Let's do this, Garfield!" The cat put a paw on her head and the other in the air. "Yosh!", he called out as he then pulled them both into the air. Before they broke the canopy of the trees, Serene enclosed them both in a forcefield that shifted transparencies until they were completely invisible. Garfield flapped his powerful wings and then angled them to send them both over the lake towards the cave.

As Serene and Garfield ripped through the air, the both watched Heero below as he took on the monsters around him. It was smart of him to keep himself on the lake where Vulcans couldn't swim. Serene smiled a bit proudly. He could be so strategic sometimes... "Rene, you can look at Heero fight later! We have work to do!", the cat wailed at her. Serene's attention snapped back as a blush found it's way to her cheeks. "I am not looking at him! I was...counting how many Vulcans there are!", she retorted. Garfield laughed at her as they speed towards the entrance of the cave.

As the two made it back over land, Garfield brought his wings in a bit and they slowly began to descend. When they touched the ground, the two landed behind a little thicket of bushes. Serene then released the field around them and they suddenly appeared as the forcefield around them unraveled. Garfield unwrapped his tail from around Serene and proceeded to sit atop her head and cross his legs. Serene gave him an annoyed look as his tail flicked over her face. "I'm not a chair, you know!", she said as she tried wiggling him off. The cat only giggled and said that she was more like a loveseat. A pissed off mark appeared on the back of Serene's head before she cocked back and punched the cat, sending him flying into the wall. "Gomen...", the cat muttered while his face was squashed into the wall. Serene walked by him and peeled him from the wall, his face completely flat and bruised. As the two walked onwards, Serene held Garfield against her chest causing the cat to sparkle. Serene waved the sparkles away as she noticed them. "Were trying to be stealthy, remember!?", she scolded him. The cat nodded and remained silent as the two kept walking through the cave.

After walking cautiously for another few minutes, they could hear the sounds of female voices. Serene looked at Garfield as exclamation marks appeared over their heads.
