I would like to begin my B-Rank exam now, thanks! ^-^

Simon was standing by the guild job board searching for a job to raise his game to the next level, he had been charging through jobs lately and he knew he would have to keep charging through jobs to get to B-Rank. But beneath his expression of frenzied determination, Simon was feeling a great deal of conflict. In his last job he had accidentally took the life of a vulcan he had been fighting, now a person would think this is a common occurrence with a guy who's magic is centered around slicing people up with magic demon slaying blades, but it wasn't. Simon had never killed before and it weighed heavily on him. He was so focused and distracted at the same time that he didn't even notice Ebony calling him. He would have kept standing there looking for a job if one of his guild members hadn't picked him up and threw him away from the job board.

He landed in front of Ebony with a thud. Simon pulled himself to his feet "Oh are we doing something?" Simon saluted and grinned "Sorry I was a little distracted earlier." 'Earlier' wasn't exactly true, he was still very much distracted. Years of training with the god of liars allowed Simon to mask emotions perfectly but it was just a facade. Sure Simon was excited about an exam but he was still thinking about the vulcan he killed and a series of disturbing dreams that had been growing in gruesomeness and clarity over the last week. He kind of wanted to explain the whole situation to Ebony, but he thought it wasn't her problem or at least it shouldn't be. "I'm ready to go whenever."

Simon followed Ebony in a heart beat running close behind. He was bothered by the fact that she had noticed his negative feelings after all the excessive training he had been put through to be able to mask such emotions, he mentally scolded himself for slipping up, but since she seemed to already be aware Simon felt there was no point in hiding the problem any longer. As he ran Simon started trying to explain what was going down "Well you see the is about something that happened on my last job. The one I did with Kali right before coming back here.... It probably seems like something that isn't that important and you might not get why it's effecting me so much but... Simon hesitated for a second before continuing "While I was fighting this vulcan, I attacked it and I guess I hit it in just the right spot and the next thing I knew it's head was on the ground several feet away from it's body. A shiver went up his spine as he remembered the moment, the blood splattered on his leg and the life that slipped away right before his eyes.

Simon really hoped telling Ebony this wouldn't effect his exam he didn't want to be called weak for feel bad over killing a vulcan. He couldn't help it, it was the first life he had ever taken and he hadn't even done it on purpose. But then again what did he expect to happen when one of his favored spells turned his leg into a guillotine blade, it was like asking for heads to roll. He was shaken by it none the less. They quickly came to the serene cliff and Simon took a moment to appreciate the natural beauty of the place, it was a really nice place to do anything really. However Simon had a few unpleasant memories about the place his thoughts straying to his first rank up exam where Ex-Guildmaster Leonard had struck him with lightning before trapping him in an air-less atmospheric pressure dome. It wasn't the happiest of flashbacks to say the least. Simon stopped running and look at Ebony "So we are doing this here again? Also what is 'this'?"

Simon froze up as Ebony hugged him and for a minute was honestly relieved by what she had to say and nodded silently when she offered to do a job later. He was suddenly feeling very confident and ready to take on the world "Defeat the Vulcans" and all that self confidence and motivation went down the toilet. Simon staggered backwards as the two vulcans appeared. They were larger then any he had ever seen before and naturally that implied they were much stronger too. Simon suddenly felt like that scared little kid who had got punted around by a forest vulcan on his first real job with Mari, except this time the situation was twice as dire and no one to help him. Well Ebony would help if things got dangerous, but she had to get involved Simon could guess that meant he failed the exam. While he was writhing in his bad memories one of the vulcans raised it's hand in a fist and sent Simon crashing down onto the beach underneath the Serene Cliffs.

Simon dragged himself to his feet brushing off the punch. He had just enough time to see the two vulcan charging at him before they were all over him, it took all of Simon's concentration and skill to avoid the rush of attacks being thrown at him. His God Leg magic gave him unreal speed, coordination and strength in his legs and that was all that was keeping him alive right now as the vulcans attacked relentlessly. If he didn't act fast he would be over come very soon. So he did the only thing he could do he sucked in air while keeping up his dance of dodging, this forced him to slow down a little and it looked as if the vulcans would be able to take advantage of that before a large grey magic circle appeared in front of Simon and he threw his head forward howling with rage "Metallic Demon Slayer's Howl!" which unleashed a savage tornado of scrap metal and blades from his mouth blasting the vulcans at point blank sending them flying.

Simon had a moment to catch his breath and coordinate his attack plan now as the attack had sent the vulcans sprawling an entire 40 meters back. His howl was very powerful and at point blank like the vulcans were it's power rivaled a B-Rank spell. Simon had felt first hand how strong the vulcans were and knew he wouldn't be able to beat them head on. He was tempted to use divide and conquer tactics but he knew that wouldn't work if he focused on one vulcan the other would catch him unaware, not to mention they were obviously very physically tough and it would likely take all of his magic power to take out just one so he needed to make sure any major magic consuming tactics would have to hit both of his foes. This left him no choice but to face both enemies at the same time, it wasn't an idea he liked but he would have to deal with it. So as the vulcans dragged themselves to their feet and resumed their pursuit of him, Simon started running towards the bottom of the Serene Cliff. "Well you dumb apes I hope you are ready to dance with the devil."

Simon had a healthy lead on the vulcans and it would appear he was faster then them anyway, which was good very good. He reached the bottom of the cliff with time to spare but didn't stop running, he kept going right up the face of the cliff. Simon pulled back his arm and said "Metallic Demon's Drill Claw!" activating the spell converting his right arm into a glowing metal drill, as he progressed up the cliff face he rammed the drill into the ground to his right. This slowed his progress a little, but the vulcans were still well behind and seemed to be struggling to climb the mostly flat cliff face so it didn't matter too much. Every quarter of the way up the cliff he would intentionally stomp on the cliff insanely hard as he went causing large cracks in the stone to spread from those spots. Once he reached the top of the cliff after a few seconds the vulcans were hardly halfway up, this gave him a nice bit of time to start the next phase of his plan.

Running down to halfway down the cliff on the other side Simon took his drill claw and shoved it into the ground detaching it from his arm. He would then stomp on the butt of it as hard as he could sending it rocketing into the ground, where the force of the stomp would send it through the ground flying out on the other side of the cliff just barely flying past the feet of one of the vulcans. What was all this hoopla for? Simon was going to bring the house down on those vulcans. By house he meant cliff, but by vulcans he actually did mean vulcans. At this point Simon ran back to the top of the cliff, the vulcans were almost there too. But that was right where Simon wanted them. So he started rocking their world, by that he meant repetitively stomping on the top of the cliff over and over with as much power and speed as his God Leg magic was able to put on top of his enhanced slayer strength. At first little happened, well the spot where Simon was stomping was wreaked but the rest of the cliff seemed uneffected but after a few more stomps the large cracks he had created on his way up started to spread and deepen. The vulcans were making steady progress, hardly effected by the shock waves Simon was sending through the cliff; seeing said progress from his spot of high elevation Simon was worried they would reach the top before his plan came together.The rock of the cliff face was cracking and breaking but it was too little too late. Getting close one of the vulcans tried to throw them selves up at Simon, the mage was too distracted by his frenzied stomping to the see the attack coming and was tackled full on by the vulcan. He was pinned to the ground with the vulcan's large weight pressing down on him, the beast was probably planning to hold him down until his friend could catch up to beat Simon down together. But gravity had different plans.

It wasn't the massive land slisde Simon had wanted but a large section of the cliff broke off from it's place above the beach sending the vulcans, and Simon crashing towards the ground in a landslide. Now the demon slayer was in a tight spot, the sudden fall had thrown the vulcan off of him but now he was caught in his own trap and hurtling towards the ground at highspeeds. Think fast Simon ran across the chunk of rock that he was falling on and jumped out towards the water, he flew through the air as the vulcans crashed to the ground. One crushed under the rock the other on top of the rubble, not nearly as hurt. But Simon had bigger fish to fry right now, and by bigger fish to fry he meant shallow water to not crash land in. As he was just a few feet above the water about to crash into the rocky shallows he threw his leg down in front and yelled "Blue walk!" It wasn't a spell but it was Simon's favorite personal technique and loved to call it out by name, as his foot hit the water instead of   landing on the unstable ground and probably twisting and/or breaking his ankle or something his foot landed on top of the water and he kept running. The force of impact still hurt him some, but it was negligible, it took some extreme heights to really injure Simon by falling, as he ran across the surface of the water curving back around to attack the vulcans again it occurred to Simon that jumping on the water didn't really matter and he could have just jumped on the beach and  let his super human legs absorb the force of the fall and gotten the same result. He scolded his own over complications of matters before running back to the coast to resume his fight.

The first vulcan was currently buried under rubble, unable to assist himself, as the second vulcan attempted to move the rocks to help him out. Awwwww monsters showing sympathy for each other's plights, it would have been adorable if they didn't have the shared goal of mauling Simon. The man of the hour was currently charging the second vulcan from the ocean hoping to force him away from the first vulcan to keep him trapped. Seeing him running at him the vulcan jumped at Simon as soon as he was on dry land, with a lot of skill and a little luck Simon slid under the flying monkey who would land on all fours as his pounce attempt failed. Simon quickly turned around to face his foe, and the vulcan did the same as they prepared to square off to the sound of the other vulcan struggling under way too much rock. Simon raised his leg in front of him bent at the knee as if to block an attack he stared into the eyes of the vulcan "I wield the leg of a god, try as you might to attack me, maim me, beat me, break me, chase me, fight me, pounce me, crush me or even throw me. You will learn the meaning of god in the end." The vulcan proceeded to burst into a fit of uncontrollable laughter, his mistake.

Simon initiated his favorite spell causing his legs to glow golden and rushed the beast with all the speed he was able, which was a lot, he closed the distance faster then you could say "oops." In fact he traveled the distance faster then the word "oops" would have been able to cross the same distance. That's right Simon was moving faster then the speed of sound, thanks to his God Leg magic which when casting any spell sends his speed into overdrive and then some. Now this kind of speed naturally had to be followed up by an awesome kick to seal the deal, and Simon delivered. "Falcon Heavenward!" The attack would be over before the words left Simon's mouth, but he liked saying it anyway. At this point Simon was right in front of the vulcan who had yet to realize he was being attack, Simon pulled his right leg back and it forward and upwards at the vulcan's face with all the power and speed he was able. The ape was sent flying backwards several meters crashing into the ocean with a foot imprinted in his face. For a frame of reference of what it felt like for the vulcan it was kick of like getting kicked by a word, for those who don't know what it feels like to get kicked by a word it was like getting kicked by a bullet in the face.  Anyone who doesn't know what it feels like to be kicked in the face by a bullet needs to stop reading this and go out and do something with their life, because honestly who hasn't been kicked by a bullet?

Bullet kicking aside, the fight was far from over. Behind him the first vulcan was starting to free itself from the rubble of the landslide, and in front of him the second vulcan was already recovery from his falcon heavenward. Knowing if he wasted too much time thinking the vulcans would recover and attack, and letting enemies that much stronger then him go on the offensive would spell disaster for Simon. So taking a hasty initiative he charged the second vulcan who was still getting back on his feet and sprang at the ape monster going in for a jump kick, but the vulcan showed off some impressive speed by catching Simon foot. "Holy shit!" That was the only reaction Simon had time for before the vulcan swung him by his leg smashing him into the sand of the beach, the hit was oddly cushioned but still very painful. Laughing like an idiot the vulcan attempted to swing Simon over his head to slam him into the sand again, but with his free foot Simon drove his heel into the underside of the vulcan's wrist as hard as he was able. This would result in Simon being dropped unceremoniously on to the ground as the vulcan reeled back clutching the spot where it had been hit.

Simon figured he popped some blood veins and potentially tore a bit of the vulcan's muscle and skin on the spot, which without a doubt hurt a lot. It gave him a moment of self-satisfaction to see the big strong monster whining like it was. Sadly the moment was short lived as the vulcan came back with a vengeance attempting to kick Simon while he was down, well it was more like a stomp then a kick but the correct terminology wasn't Simon's biggest concern right now. Simon was struggling to stand up on the sand, normally using the same trick that let him walk on water standing on sand was no problem but once he was knocked down it was much harder for him to get up because a side effect of his demon slayer magic was a supernatural body density which made him exceptionally difficult to hurt but it also meant he weighed over 360 pounds, he was partially sunk in the sand and it was hard to pick himself up because when he pushed down on the ground the sand just slid away. So he was pretty much a sitting duck when the vulcan's big ugly foot came down at him.

"When life makes you a sitting duck for an incoming stinky monkey foot of death, become a lego." Simon made a mental note to become well known for that line. As he became a sitting duck for an incoming stinky monkey foot of death Simon curled up his fists and punched them together "Metallic Demon's Armored Hide! Mettalic Demon's Embargo!"" Simon instantly transformed into a metal lego of doom. First his skin turning to metal giving him incredible resistance to attacks, especially physical ones and then his second spell would surround him in a metal shell coated in spikes. Together the two spells made a powerful defense. The vulcan's foot collided with the embargo shell just as it finished forming crushing through the spikes which weren't strong enough to pierce the tough skin but it had to be very painful judging from the howl. The embargo's shell itself absorbed a good deal of the force and by the time the vulcan's foot reached Simon's armored skin the damage was minimal. The harm the small but it did leave Simon in a bad spot, the vulcan now had him pinned down and Simon was sinking more into the sand.

But somehow Simon had the vulcan right where he wanted him, sure it seemed like the vulcan had Simon pinned down and half buried and that was accurate. But Simon had a secret weapon: the vulcan's foot. At this time the vulcan was getting ready to pound Simon's face in with his fists but the beast would never get the chance as the demon slayer was one step ahead of him. Simon grabbed onto the vulcan's ankle and invoked the name of his second least favorite spell "Mettalic Demon's Gaping Maw!" His already armored skin around his hands was given another coat of metal and his  fingers gained razor points and with a surge of magically enhanced strength he dug them into the vulcan's ankle. The beast howled in pain as Simon's claws tore through his skin and cartilage down to bone, it was a bloody mess(the main reason Simon strongly disliked the spell) but it gave Simon opportunity. As pain surged up the vulcan's leg it let off the pressure on Simon and using his claws to dig into the vulcan's leg as he went he pulled himself out from under his foot and began to pull himself out of the sand. He dragged himself up from under the vulcan's foot and using the stupidly large foot as a platform to stand on he jumped  into the air so he was just above the vulcan's head and with a rush of adrenaline initiates his most hated spell. His claws vanished as he summoned more metal to form around his leg taking on the shape of a guillotine blade.

"Metallic Demon's Law Abiding Silver Gun!" Doing a mid-air front flip to build momentum Simon brought down his guillotine leg straight down at the Vulcan's head. Still distracted by the pain in his foot the vulcan just barely had time to move it's head out of the way as the arcing blade cleaved through it's skin and muscle tissue leaving a full length several inch deep cut across the beast's torso. Simon was snapped back to reality as the blood splattered on his shirt and face, landing his foot back to normal, he stared at the vulcan and the massive cut. He found he couldn't move the sight petrified him, because of his reckless behavior he had unleashed an attack that would likely kill the vulcan even if not for a while the ape would almost certainly bleed out unless it got immediate and high level medical attention. It had already collapsed to one knee howling in pain wrapping an arm around it's torso injury and his other hand putting pressure on his shredded ankle. So terrified by what he had done Simon didn't even notice the other vulcan had freed himself from the rubble and he wouldn't notice until the vulcan punched him in the side of the head sending him crashing into the side of the cliff. Simon just stared unable to properly wrap his head around the situation as the vulcan charged him prepared to end the fight.

Simon would have been flattened to a pancake then and there had fight or flight not kicked in, it was a principle of nature and even with his mind presently in shambles it still took hold. He couldn't beat a rampaging vulcan charging straight at him head on, so he had to escape, get out of the way and find a new way to beat him. So Simon did the only rational thing, he jumped straight up just as the vulcan would have rammed him into the cliff. Simon landed on top of the vulcan's shoulders before jumping again onto the cliff face, once again running upward. He needed to change the playing field, these were mountain vulcans they had the terrain advantage in a rocky place like the serene cliffs he needed to drag them out of their element and into his. The vulcan was an amazing climber and was gaining on Simon rapidly, the climbing skill of mountain vulcans never ceased to amaze, so Simon had to really pick up the pace with his wall running to avoid the ruthless pursuit of the ape.

Down below on the beach the second vulcan dragged itself to it's feet limping after Simon with a flame of vengeance in it's eyes. It had somehow worked through it's injury with just will power and strength. It struggeled to walk on it's bad foot so it was crawling on all fours, but that wasn't hard for vulcans and it managed to make for a decent running speed. But Simon and the other vulcan would have reached the top of the cliff and taken the fight to the forest beyond before the second vulcan even reached the bottom of the cliff and started climbing. Meanwhile Simon cleared the cliff and ran into the forest, with the vulcan right on his toes. Little did he know it but the vulcan had just sealed it's own fate. The trees in the forest were the play things of forest vulcans but a mountain vulcan like this would break any tree it tried to climb, while Simon could dance and fly around the tree tops like a real fairy and if he had the aerial advantage there was no way he would lose. No way in this world.

Now surrounded by trees Simon began his endgame strategy because if he didn't get his attack together here and now he would without a doubt fail his exam. He had to win, he needed to turn the tides. So as soon as he could he jumped into the branches of a nearby tree to get an aerial advantage on the beast he was fighting. The vulcan's choice of attack plan was to tackle the tree falling it with just one attack. But that wasn't a problem for Simon, as the tree came down he dropped from the branches landing on the vulcan's head with a stomp before jumping to another tree. The beast roared in frustration and got back up preparing to tackle Simon's new tree, this process was repeated three times without failure. Simon was feeling embarrassed for the vulcan, it was too easy but he knew this tactic couldn't last much longer and the damage he was dealing wasn't going to cut it. So he yelled at the vulcan from the safety of a fourth tree "Oi oi oi! Instead of trying to knock my tree down, why don't you throw one of the trees at me that you have already knocked over? I can't stomp on your head if you don't tackle the tree." The vulcan grinned and took the bait lifting one of the fallen trees with both of his arms. Simon muttered to himself "I think I gave this punk some major brain damage."

With a grunt and a heave the tree was sent flying through the air and would have knocked Simon from his high ground in the tree except Simon was a bit of a bad ass. He jumped at the tree being lobbed at him and weaved through the branches, landing on the truck, running along the trunk before jumping off the end of the truck and kicking the vulcan square in the face. His momentum sent the vulcan to the ground with a bloody nose and a head full of confusion. Poor guy didn't even realize what had just happened. But Simon didn't stick around to indulge in his minor victory he knew it would only be a second before the vulcan got up and attacked. Simon stalling for time picked a tree right above where the vulcan was laying and round house kicked it low on it's truck, the force of Simon's kick was extreme powered by superhuman magic and desperation and it left a large cleave in the tree's trunk. Simon pulled his leg out and watched the tree fall on the vulcan, it wouldn't hurt him much but it should slow him down a little. Now with a big more time Simon sprinted into the woods to prepare his next attack. Which if he had his way would be a real show stopper.

Running through the tree tops to stay 1 step ahead of the vulcan Simon wasn't running away without a plan or a course of action. Fleeing wouldn't win this day, but fleeing in a circle would. Well actually it was more of a U-Turn then a circle, just as soon as he had taken the vulcan to the forest he was gonna kick him out. Trees fell and crashed behind him as the large mountain ape pursued him with a vengeance knocking down anything that got in his way. His little tree fall tactic had bought him hardly a few seconds and had obviously done little to deter the monster. So Simon was thinking bigger, bigger with a lot more boom. Before long Simon's path led him to the edge of the woods with the edge of the serene cliff in front of him "Okay Simon let's get down to business." The words had hardly left his mouth when the second vulcan came sailing up through the air over the edge of the cliff with a righteous upper cut to Simon's face. He was sent flying straight into the arms of the first vulcan who wrapped his arms around Simon and suplexed him backwards smashing Simon's head into the ground. Fortunately for Simon his armored skin protected him from a great deal of the damage, but it still hurt like hell. Simon was too disoriented to tell which one but one of the vulcans then punted him into the trunk of a nearby tree.

Simon staggered to his feet as the dumb ape duo advanced on him. They were both laughing like giddy school girls, as if thinking they had Simon beat. But that could not be farther from the truth. Why? Becaue the vulcan's had their backs to the cliff. Simon charged them and once again invoked the name of his favorite spell "Falcon Heavenward!" he fired off a shining super sonic kick to the first vulcans face. Now the first vulcan was supposed to be sent flying backwards, slamming into his buddy and send them both off the edge of the cliff, but apparently they didn't read the scripts. With little effort and their combined strength the vulcans dug their feet into the ground and stopped their momentum  well before they were even at the cliffs edge. Simon wanted to call foul play, that was obviously cheating but was forced to face the reality that you can't cheat in a fight like this. Enraged Simon sucked in air pulling his head back, the vulcans were familiar with this motion and charged him trying to stop the spell. Before he could activate the spell the vulcans landed a synchronized punch to his gut which knocked the wind right out of Simon. But unfortunately for the vulcan's Simon stored his wind in the same place he stored his magical metal tornadoes of doom so when one came out, both did. "Metallic demobug's howghgrhgugh!" Simon's howl was unleashed on the misguided vulcans who were under the impression they had just stopped the attack.

The blast that erupted from Simon's mouth carried his two foes off the cliff and then a lot. 40 meters away to be exact before they were dumped into the air. The destructive duo were sent crashing into the rocky shallows many meters below the cliff, blood from their past and new injuries were mixing with the water and spreading out making for a gross scene. Simon want to hurl and was over taken with a wave of guilt, he feared he had killed the two vulcans. But then like a phoenix from the ashes, the two vulcans stood up in the water. Beaten, bloody, injured, with salt water in their wounds, but not dead and not done fighting. They both let out a blood chilling howl that made Simon's hair stand on end, these apes weren't just monsters they were borderline demons. Simon stumbled backwards unable to comprehend how anything could have suffered through all that and then get up and keep moving. Simon was scared right out of rational thought, all he could think was that those monsters were demons that had to be exterminated they were too dangerous to live. He looked around him for a way to end the battle and was pleasantly surprised by what he found, this would be his final gambit in this fight and he could feel as the vulcan's charged the cliff this would be their final charge. What came next would determine the winner of the day. The thought sent shivers down his spine.

This was it, endgame right here right now. Do or die, eat or be eaten the vulcans were coming and Simon needed a solid attack plan if he wanted to make it out alive. For the time being he had forgotten this was even an exam it was fight to stay alive one had to stand and one had to fall. Simon didn't have any plans on falling here today. He got to work and brought his A-Game because despite all the effort he had poured into the fight so far, this is where it really began. Using his super human legs as axes he began to bring down trees on the edge of the cliff stacking them into a pile on the edge of the cliff he worked frantically on this as the vulcans labored up the beach fighting through their injuries. Simon was sweating and bleeding the two mixing together streaming down his arms and legs as he worked proof of his effort and strife. Each tree was harder to move then the last but he knew that for the vulcans each step was harder then the last.

The pile grew, the vulcans grew nearer. Simon felt his plan was obvious, but effective after all even if the vulcans could see his attack coming what would they do about it? But as they began to climb the mountain face Simon was growing worried, while he had a lot of time to prepare they also had a lot of time to think of a way around his trap. So Simon figured he should take an extra precaution, he formed a metal disk on his right forearm and took a deep breath things were about to get real. The vulcans were about 3 quarters of the way up the cliff, Simon didn't really have time to get any more trees cut down and he didn't think anymore would help at this point. He had 8 trees piled at the edge of the cliff just begging to be shoved off. So Simon positioned himself with his right leg propped on the back log at the base of the pile ready to push. He knew once he pushed he would unleash hell and he would not likely have another moments rest because the rest of his success plan in this battle simply didn't permit any time for rest. So with everyone he could do in place, he shoved.

Everything was in motion, every card on the table the conclusion of events was fast coming. As soon as Simon pushed on that pile of logs they went rolling over the edge of the cliff plummeting down at the vulcans. 3 missed completely falling to the beach below much to Simon's dismay and the next was punched aside by the lead vulcan not liking where this was going as the next 4 logs neared their targets Simon leveled the metal plate he had formed on his arm earlier and invoked the name of the spell he most often forgot he had "Mirror Cannon!" A beam of burning light shot from the metal plate hitting the lead vulcan in the face, the damage was minor but it created an opening. The next log would hit the vulcan in the face and knock him off the cliff, he would flip through the air and fall for a short while before catching the cliff side and resuming climbing. The second vulcan was now in the lead but they wouldn't fare much better.

The monster would jump over the first log but when they tried to do it again with the next log the vulcan's bad foot lagged behind and got caught my the log dragging the vulcan down a few feet before it was able to get free. However the 8th and final log hit the vulcan square in the face and knocked them off the cliff where they would fall until they hit the ground. They were out of the fight. It was one on one now and the final confrontation was drawing near with the first vulcan recovering ground and soon dragged himself onto to edge of the cliff where it stood to face Simon and end this- NOPE! After shooting the vulcan with the mirror cannon the demon slayer had ran into the woods in the hopes of out lasting the vulcan. After all the vulcan was bleed severely and didn't seem to have any food with him, while Simon on the other hand has a back pack stuffed with bandages to treat his own injuries and snacks to last a life time.

Simon was just preparing himsefl for a series of hit and run attacks to finish off the last vulcan to prevent himself from getting finished off himself. But then.... "SIMONNNNNNNN! Raina is in trouble! I'm sorry but if you're gonna help Lance you'll fail your exam." Simon did a 180 turn on his heels, the vulcan was now only a few meters behind him and closing the gap rapidly. Simon charged the vulcan "Out of my way! I don't got time for you! Eagle Sweep!" his accelerated to the speed of sound, a trade mark of his god leg spells, and hit the ground in a sweeping kick knocking the vulcan off it's feet causing it to fall head first towards the ground. Simon rose to his feet behind the vulcan and pulled his right hand back "Metallic Demon's Drill Claw!" his fist was once again converted into a drill he drove it into the vulcan's back as it fell down causing blood to erupt from the vulcan's back splattering on Simon's arm, chest and face. Not even phased by the spurt of blood he jumped into the air, pulling his drill free in the process, and pushed off a nearby tree rocketing at the vulcan's head just as the beast hit the ground. "Metallic Demon's Law Abiding Silver Gun!" Simon launched a downward kick flip to decapitate the vulcan as his leg converted into a guillotine as it had several times already. The poor ape was helpless, too dazed and confused to react as the shining blade separated it's head from it's shoulders sending blood spurting up coating Simon's face, leg and the front of his shirt.

With his foe defeated and still seized by adreneline Simon jumped on top of the rock Ebony had hidden behind. He looked down at her, his face wearing a grim expression coated in red "Where is Raina I need to-" Before he could finish the sentance reality caught up to Simon and he collapsed. Falling forward landing a few feet in front of where Ebony was 'hidden' he had spent all of his magic power and then some. He curled up involuntarily in a fit of painful and heavy breathing as sweat drenched his face and well just about everything. That magic he over used was taken straight from his stamina and health leaving him without the strength to move. As everything caught up to him he began to feel the pain of his injuries, he began to feel his legs burning from the strain he put on them, he began to feel his burning lungs, the hole in his chest where his magic origin was meant to be, the wet hot blood all over his body soaking his clothes, and most of all he felt mental torment. Once again he had taken a life, just to try and save his friend yet he couldn't do anything, a life had been lost so he could try and help Raina but as far as Simon knew it was in vain he wouldn't be able to help her. As far as he knew he had failed completely.
