It had been a long time since Marick had last come to Hargeon Town. Last time he'd visited was shortly after Kara had moved to the town, meaning it was at least 6 months ago now. Whilst the Solitaire was curious as to how she was doing, he was here on a mission and would have to wait for now. Today was his second mission alongside his new guildmaster Zenshin, with his first being the day he agreed to join Sabertooth...and took home a lion cub. It was strange how things turned out and now he'd been joined at the guild by none other than Matabei, a turn of events that he'd never seen coming. She was back at the guild right now, settling in and taking care of Mufasa.
The job in question was, in Marick's mind, a simple one. Hargeon Town had had trouble with thugs for a while now, as was the nature of a port town. However, with Lamia Scale only just building up, some of these thugs had begun to get more out of control than ever. Thus Marick and Zenshin were to find these thugs and either scare them off, or beat them into submission. Given Marick's past, he was very well suited to the job. He'd spoken to Zenshin who agreed to take the job on with him again, something Marick had expected given what he knew so far about his guildmaster.
On this occasion he had gone on ahead. Zenshin had some paperwork to sort through, so Marick had decided to speak with the owner earlier in the day to get the details of what these thugs looked like, and where abouts to find some of them. Now it was just a case of waiting for his guildmaster to arrive. He pulled out his cards and shuffled them, occasionally running a card across his fingers before inserting it back into the deck. Ever since he'd joined Sabertooth he'd found that his magical ability was improving at a considerably faster rate than it ever had before. He'd already been able to cast spells that were above his rank, although they still needed a little tweaking here and there to improve the power or the accuracy of the spells. With a smile he placed his shuffled deck back into its holder and crossed his arms. leaning against the wall outside of the restaurant.
