What would happen if the dice system wasn't mandatory for quests anymore? Not the monster rolls, no, those actually make sense, I mean those blasted attack dice. I, for one, find the attack and defense dice absolutely pointless and overall 'breaking'. Say an S rank spell is cast at a D rank monster, but the monster got a block dice as a roll. It will just end up dodging a spell that it shouldn't have. Or an A rank is against a C rank monster and is on a run of bad luck, he wont stop getting pounded by the monster even though his combat experience should be MUCH higher. What if there are WAVES of monsters? Then you lost count of the dice rolls, a mod/admin has to come into the thread thats flow has been broken severely, wait some more, roll again and hope you didnt screw up, only to find that you not only defeated ANY of them, you took a bunch of hits that you SHOULDN'T have taken, IC. The attack and block dice only serve to lengthen the amount of time it takes to complete a thread, when that should be left to the participants instead, not luck. Let's face facts here, NO ONE is going to kill their character in a job thread if they do not want their character to die, it's a fact. And a C rank mission that should have been 20 posts, turns into a HUGE thread comparable to that of the hardest 100 year job, what's the difference aside from job requirements? I say we just let the participants of the thread say what happens and trust them not to godmod. If they do? The job is failed for that reason.

From what I see here, the reasoning is logical. Attacks/spells from an A-Rank should have a 90% chance to hurt the C-Ranked monsters. But if it doesn't then theres something wrong. I support Zenshin.

Well, the dice system works perfectly it just seems that people don't understand it quite as much.
It seems what people don't understand is the block dice. The block dice do not mean that the opponent receives no damage at all. It means that they successfully blocked it. Now think of dragon ball z. Even if an opponent is blocking an attack in that then you can see they are still getting damage in some way.
So as an S rank if a C rank blocks me, they are merely 'reducing' the damage rather than stopping it altogether. How much it is reduced by really depends, but generally i'd say by one C rank worth or maybe a bit more.
Anyone is capable of missing so the attack dice is no issue.

I'll save you all some time, and let you get to mulling into the sadness early. We are not changing the dice system, we can make it easier to understand however. It's mandatory, deal with it. Sorry. That is the final say on this.
