Description: Siren is in truth more than human, and more than mage. In her centuries and in the complicated rituals performed by the Archdevil of the ocean himself, Siren was transfigured not only in gaining devil slaying, but in becoming a new creature entirely. A High Serpent, otherwise known as legendary Sea Serpents, becoming one of the great creatures of the sea. What the form allows is already granted by her magic, being immune to temperature extremes and the immense pressure of the lightless depths of the abyss. These abilities are just reinforced by the form of the serpent.
The serpent form is a sleek back form with very very fine black scales that are deceptively durable and resistant to harm, each scale the size of a large coin in a human hand, but is comparable to fine sand in a properly scaled example of size.
Many long tendrils and spines extend out from her body, with two flared fins extending out from behind her head similar to the hood of a cobra, but centered a little lower. Many of the tendrils bunch around her head almost looking like whiskers and a mane, with two longer tendrils with bulbous ends.
All along these tendrils and the clear fins- these transparent fins and tendrils end in razor edges capable of delivering slicing blows, meanwhile the tendrils are capable of grabbing and manipulating things with varied effectiveness-, she is packed with enhanced luciferins- biological agents responsible for the generation of bioluminescence. This makes all her tendrils and fins glow with blue intensity, which can be strictly controlled to dim, brighten, shut off, activate in specific areas, or turn red instead. Red light allowing her to illuminate an area without alerting the vast majority of other aquatic life, who are blind to red light. These lights can be magnified from the organs in it's skull to produce a "High beams" like effect to shine brightly in a cone of light to greatly illuminate a specific area farther ahead of her, or to stun most creatures (Just a very bright source of light for other creatures such as human mages, though normal humans would be blinded) These organs generate minute amounts of electricity to large amounts of electricity (as the source of the light), which can be felt through the skin on contact enough to numb a human arm but cause no real harm, it is however, well enough to stun most small creatures in the sea and prevent small parasites. This makes the body neutral towards electricity, being well use to it, if not slightly resistant towards electricity, and a Slayer of electricity would be able to scrape off electricity that escapes from the High Serpent up to 5% per post for their elemental consumption. Meanwhile a light slayer would be able to absorb 5% per post from their own from the bioluminsence.
It's important to note that the High Serpent is no lizard, no wyvern nor dragon and it's certainly no god, angel neither any demon or undead creature. The High Serpent is a deep sea abyssal creature capable of amphibious movement after the manner of a snake, though that is unnecessary as the High Serpent uses it's command over water to fly wrapped in trails of water (Ocean slaying).
Strengths:
- Serpent's Might: The High Serpent is 15%% stronger, faster, and and durable, x2 per rank to a maximum of 480% at H-rank (240% at S-rank). A High Serpent never gets fatigued. Their senses are all many times greater than a human. Capable of hearing shouts from a few miles away, smelling blood from many miles away, and picking out a human form out from a forest from a great distance, these ranges increasing by a factor of x10 when under water spying other things under water. Her speed is reduced by 15% of it's total when on land, and increased by 10% it's total when in bodies of water capable of providing unrestricted movement for her size. All these benefits are reduced by half in human form.
- Serpent's Blood: The High Serpent regenerates HP 2% HP per post, x2 per rank to a maximum of 64% at H-rank. 32% at S-rank. Every time the High Serpent ingests blood, such as through a bite, they regenerate additional HP equal to half that a Slayer would recover MP when they ingest their element. When in areas of high heat and dryness this is reduced by 1/4th and when in areas of high moisture (When submerged) it's increased by 10% it's total. By bleeding over the wounds of another, she can share this regeneration with them for 1 post for the purpose of healing those wounds. By biting her lip to draw a drop of blood she is capable of delivering a kiss that allows the recipient to grow gills and webbed hands&feet, allowing them to breath salt and fresh water along with swimming at up to their normal sprinting speed on land. All these benefits are reduced by half in human form.
- Serpent's Influence: A High Serpent can communicate with and is defaulted to in all matters of authority by all aquatic life. This excludes those of equal or higher power (Equal or higher rank), though they can still feel the call of the Serpent's Influence. The High Serpent isn't a summoner of any sort, but they can command NPCs naturally. If the aquatic life forms are magically dominated by another, the Serpent's dominance overpowers the other connection if they are of equal or lesser power to the High Serpent. If they were summoned creatures, they simply unsummon themselves rather than turn against their summoner.
The presence of a High Serpent is felt differently by other life forms. By extending their will they are capable of emitting powerful expressions of their willpower that can overpower others in a manner that seems to make others bow before them. Creatures three ranks less than the Serpent are rendered unconscious until no longer influenced by the presence. Two ranks less and they are forced to the ground unable to stand before the Serpent. One rank less and they are pushed to bow on their knees. Of equal rank, they feel a weight on their shoulders. This force of will can be fought against, in which case those who resist feel a great pressure on them reducing their speed by 95% for those who would be unconscious, 70% for those on their backs/faces, 30% for those on their knees. And 5% for those of equal rank.
The Influence of the Serpent allows her to easily command ships, reducing the required pilots by 3.
- Serpent's Majesty: The High Serpent has a variable size starting small when they are young and growing in proportion to their power. Looking upon the Serpent's form is equally proportionately awe-inspiring and fearsome. At D-rank, the High Serpent is 8 meters long, and a foot thick around. C-rank they become 15 meters long and two feet thick around. B= 30m/1m, A=45m/2m, S=80m/4m, H=100m/8m. At any time, the High Serpent can merge her forms together in the manner they see fit swapping bodyparts and so on. Though the High Serpent sacrifices size to obtain human forms, the maximum "Humanoid" size would be 50 meters long from tail to head, with her legs replaced with the tail of the serpent. From there she can reduce size to such an extent that she could swim in a fish bowl.
What is majesty without intelligence and wisdom? The High Serpent has extremely enhanced intelligence to the point of super-genius.
- Serpent's Venom: The High Serpent has a potent poison delivered through the fangs that reduces a victim's speed by 25%, +5% per rank less than the High Serpent the enemy is. For the first post bitten, victims of 1 rank less are paralyzed for 1 post, 2 ranks 2 posts, 3 ranks four posts, 4 ranks eight posts, and 5 ranks sixteen posts. The paralysis is complete, entirely binding every muscle in the body except the heart and brain rendering them completely incapable of movement. A paralyzed victim is immune to being paralyzed for three posts after the duration wears off. The speed reduction due to necrosis withering muscle tissue lasts until the end of the topic, and stacks, each additional bite being half as effective as the last bite to a minimum of 5% reduction. Once bitten by the serpent, they are considered 1 rank lower for the purpose of Serpent's Influence. If bitten Six or more times -1 for every two ranks higher than the victim, they are considered to be aquatic for the purpose of Serpent's Influence, though it can be resisted they are treated as though hypnotized.
If ingested by a victim, these numbers increase by x2. It should be noted here that the venom can be dripped into vials, onto daggers, or so on, and the fangs can manifest even in human form.
Weaknesses:
- Replaces and cannot gain any Lineages. The blood of the High Serpent is all that it has, and cannot be diluted by the taint of the past accomplishments of others before her. Her blood is purely her own without ancestral traits, making her unique. Her children share this blood however, but they don't seem to get any benefits from it. It also replaces the Pet slot, making her unable to permanently own a pet beyond gaining the temporary service of creatures in individual topics.
- The High Serpent's blood can be used against her, in the sense that she need not be willing to share the regeneration her blood provides. Meaning an enemy who deals melee damage and sheds blood, especially in the largeness of her full form, may be healed by doing so if they get enough of her blood on their wounds.
- The size of her true form can be her own downfall as she becomes a larger target, easier to hit. However, she is thinner, being a serpent, than most large creatures and very fast. This may outweigh the size increase but the point remains that she is very large and that has it's downsides. Including being forced out of her size if she must pursue someone who enters, for example, and underground area too small- ie; normal sized- Most noticeably would be the fact that it's hard for a creature of such size to go around undetected in typical circumstance. (Being black with clear fins, she'd still be difficult to see underwater in some cases, particularly in deep water but less so in surface waters)
- Physical ability benefits are cut down to a fourth for the High Serpent's human form, and rapid healing is likewise split in half. When in human form, Aquatic summons of mages are hesitant to attack her but still do as their summoner commands and are not unsummoned (Not intimidated enough by her presence as they would be if she were in her true form).
- Lacking arms, the High Serpent in her full form may have a difficult time removing embedded objects, particularly hooks and harpoons. Her muscle reactions are capable of working simpler spears and swords out eventually, but hooked objects... They wont be going anywhere. Then again, it's a pain in the ass to get such things out of your body even with arms.
- Obsidian. The connection has yet to be discovered- theorized to be related Obsidian's connection to deep underground while the High Serpent is connected to the deep ocean-, but Obsidian to the High Serpent has a similar effect of Silver to a Werewolf. Obsidian weapons ignore 1/2 the durability provided by the High Serpent and wounds from Obsidian do not heal or mend until the object is removed.
