Personality:
Outcast. That is the way to describe Beowulf. He was once an ordinary wolf, but the back lash of a powerful spell, possibly an etherion blast or something of that level, unlocked something within him. It was something every living creature had, but animals rarely unlocked unless trained by mages. It was his source of magic, what the wolves called a glore vyden. Yet somehow through the awakening of his glore vyden he gained new thoughts and feelings, human thoughts and feelings. His pack who had at first been excited to have a magic member in the pack and had wanted him as leader drove him out. With his new found strength and speed he could of taken them all, but many he saw as family and friends and so he left without a fight.
He thought perhaps in the human world he would receive some welcome, but no. There too he was outcast. He could not speak human, but could instead project his thoughts directly into their minds. He was eventually captured by a circus owner who put him to work. That was how he got his scar and more important his pipe. The man thought it would draw in lots of crowds if the wolf could perform magic and so got one of the mages of the guild to teach him their magic: Smoke magic. The two became a double act, but Beowulf (as the circus named him) grew tired of being men's plaything and used the magic to break free stealing the knife that had scarred his face. He was free once more.
Despite the fact he is an outcast though he seeks for acceptance and a place where he can feel part of the park. A place where he can feel at home. His pack mentality makes him an excellent team player and he will normally obey orders without hesitation. However, he is not a servant and will raise objects if necessary. He is also quite skilled at being a leader for in his former pack he had often been sent to lead raids or hunts.
He refuses to be confined and prefers to sleep outside unless the weather does not permit it. He is fiercely defensive of his pipe, his dagger and his chain. All three are symbols to him of his imprisonment and the freedom he earned. The pipe however may be because he has a smoking habit now.
In physical combat he will normally fight using his fangs and claws but will support this by using his smoke magic to wield his dagger and/or his chain as weapons. He will occasionally use his mouth for the dagger, but very rarely. He relies mostly on speed and precision in battle.
In terms of magic he mostly uses his magic as distraction whilst he gets in in order to do some damage. That or to take out/weaken large numbers of opponents thus allowing him to fight more effectively against single opponents.
If/when he finds a pack or people/animals/demons that he sees as a pack he will be fiercely loyal and will defend them as much as he can. However, he knows at any point he might be cast out again and so does his best to make this seem like a bad idea.
