Warden walked through the town, wearing a cloak now. It had been a few weeks since he'd taken the reigns of the Divine Torment guild. The repairs were almost complete, but the funds were insufficient. Thusly he had gathered a sum of money in a pool of what remained, still insufficient, but he had been looking into the tactics revolving around luck and mathematics of a little game called Poker. Namely he was looking into Blackjack, the classic money making game of the movies. Counting cards was an illegal procedure according to the Rune Knights, and Warden figured he wouldn't have any better excuse for gambling and doing things that generally miff the Magic Council. And in the royal city no less. His smirk was evident, though the rest of his facial features were by far more obscured. This manner of travel somehow managed to elude the attention of the Rune Knights, cops and other law enforcers, no matter how suspicious he appeared, because justice was apparently blind as a bat.

Whatever their pitiful reasoning in reality, he was holding himself back from them, as they were not the main point of his quest. He was in Crocus because of a fancy little windowless and clockless establishment, designed for the wealthy to come and get more or less wealthy, testing their luck. Warden wasn't heading there about luck, though, he was getting his money one way or another. He just figured he could give their way a shot first. Play it 'fair'. He knew that every station would be rigged, so he would play by his own rules of course. Warden would arrive at the casino, the interior colored in glorified purple, with red and black littering the counters and machines. It was a sickeningly dark area, with decent lighting, though it was using candle chandeliers, and mounted candle lamps. It was awfully dim though. Warden would look around, and drop his hood, revealing his face. He would walk by a couple bouncers, who let him in. He stopped by the counter, and exchanged his sack full of Jewel for chips. He then walked over to the counter for Blackjack, and he would stare at the dealer. He tossed in a few chips, "Deal me in."

Minutes turned to hours, he had a ups and downs. It was stressful, but he was making money, slowly. The bouncers suddenly stepped up behind him, "Sir, will you come with us?" Warden was so close to his goal. "Just give me a couple more rounds, I can make my goal." The bouncers would simultaneously grab him by the shoulders, and he would be lifted up. Warden didn't take too kindly to this gesture, and he would whip a leg back and twist, so he knocked the bouncer on his left into the other. "You could give me a couple rounds, or I could make my goal by selling your hides on the black market. Either way, I'm leaving here with double the jewel I came with," he would state. In actuality, he had enough jewel already, but the bouncers were pissing him off. Suddenly an anti-magic field was placed up around him and his table, "Trying to cage me? Fine, now I'm mad." His eyes began to glow red for a moment, which was new. A bouncer attempted to grab him again. Warden would grab the stool he was sitting on a few seconds and slammed it heavily over the man's head. The man dropped down and Warden would walk over to the edge of the field, and he would shove a hand through. "So... I see my training has been paying off. Maybe when I'm done here, I can display my power to the world and get a nation to myself," he would joke as he started walking through. The man who put up the field would panickedly announce to him, "That's impossible! Only S-Class wizards could make it all the way through!"

Warden would look at his hand and grinned, "Hahaha! It has been paying off!" He would place his hand on the man's hand and pushed it down, removing the field. "I've spent every day for the past month, putting psychophants and murderers in their place, a whole guild full, and making them repair the Guild Hall," he would say to the person. "I have achieved the level of a Guildmaster, and I've defeated my entire guild 27 times without a single day's rest," he would say, "I think I've earned some time to make the money for the final repairs. Don't you?"

The man, would swallow and nod, quivering in his boots. "Good, now then, I'd like to turn in those chips for double what they're worth," he would say, a single eye glowing red, "And DON'T try anything funny, or you'll be hurting for repair money too." The man scampered to the register, and began gathering the jewel he requested, shoving it into the sack that Warden entered with, then shoved it across the counter. Warden would walk over and peer into the sack, and then took it and left, satisifed with its contents. Warden was a shrewd businessman, very good at what he did when he had to be.
