No words could describe the overwhelming emotion Shuhei felt, when he first laid eyes on the desolation of where his guild once was. After returning from a mission to the South, the White Wizard hoped to be welcomed home by his friends and comrades of Blue Pegasus, but the guild had been annihilated. He struggled to breath at first, as it seemed his mind was having difficulty processing the possibilities of what could have happened. Suddenly he darted forth and leaped in to the wreckage. He dug through the piles of debris hoping, praying, hanging on to that shred of hope that there may be some survivors, but to no avail. The scalded hand which laid lifeless and unattached on the ground in front of him served as evidence enough to conclude that none had lived through the catastrophe. His knees buckled and he fell to them. This was the first time Shuhei had experienced the pain of loss and it weighed heavily on his shoulders. He felt regret and anger for not being able to protect his friends and for simply not being there.
Shuhei sat for a few hours without budging. Numbed by the pain he felt. Though he knew he couldn't remain still forever and eventually picked himself up and started to clear as much of the debris as he could by himself and gathered the bodies and laying them beside one another. It was a gruesome task, but the least he could do was give his friends a proper burial. Shuhei spent the evening and night digging under the light of the moon and by morning he had finished burying his comrades. Using planks and various objects scattered about, he erected crosses and etched in to them the names of each member of his guild, all of whom were accounted for. Before them all he stood. His fists clenched and his teeth gritted. Still the pain he felt had not subsided and most of all, rage was welling up inside of him. He breathed deeply and managed to calm himself somewhat, enough so that he could speak.
"I- I don't know what I'm going to do without all of you." Shuhei spoke quietly and softly. He had never given a eulogy before and felt nervous about it, as if there were thousands of people listening to him. He thought perhaps he was still in denial. "Blue Pegasus was my only home and without all of you I'm, for the first time in my life I'm afraid... God am I afraid!" He brushed his hair back with his dirt covered hand and start to laughed a little bit, trying to cheer himself up, though unsuccessfully. His laughs were phony and he couldn't hide the sorrow in his tone no matter how hard he tired. "I can't express how grateful I am for having all of you in my life. We had a blast! and I-" He paused for a moment. "I promise that you won't be forgotten!" Shuhei wiped a tear from his eye and looked out towards the rising sun. "I'll miss you guys... Shuhei bowed to the graves and after a short while, he turned around and started to walk away slowly. Though filled with grief, his rage had never been so great... The grim expression he carried symbolized the sleeping giant that had awoken within him and soon those responsible would come to realize their mistake... The White Dragon was ready for War.
