Catch that bat! Dragofox and Hikari Shirokawa

Hikari got her turn, and after some indeed amazing display of power and skills, killed the wolf with help from the stab he gave earlier. “Nice!” Naruto turned to Hikari, who was by then dealing with another something. A creature, but Naruto couldn’t get the gist of how it looked like. Hikari attempted to attack it, in turn causing it to counterattack, showing its face right in front of the three. “!!!” Naruto’s eyes tensed in shock, fading the smile on his face. “That’s a.. specter!!” Naruto grabbed hold of Damien’s hand, ready to flee the scene. “Hikari retreat!” Knowing they would not have a chance against the spoken creatures, Naruto had read somewhere that specters were creatures that made the spooky forest as their abode. And that they could not be beaten by them, not at the moment.

Hoping Hikari would just tag along, Naruto ran with Damien getting dragged along just like before, looking for their backs. Naruto knew he had to make sure the specter didn’t follow them, or else the situation would be dire. It was a mistake too, letting Hikari engage in battle with the specter without him realizing. It would be easier for them to run away if she hadn’t done so, but now that she already had, the best bet the three had was to flee the scene as farthest as they could go. Naruto thought he could at least throw one of the exploding papers he had, but it would just attract other creatures’ attention instead, so he put off the intention.

It was stupid of her to attack the specter in the first place. “Hikari retreat!” She bolted as Giyo yelled. Afterwards, she turned on her heels and started running for her life. Inside, she was quite panicking. Naruto grabbed Damien away from the area, who looked as frightened as a pigeon. Magic was useless at the moment so they obviously had no choice but to run as far as they can until they lose track of the specter. The thing was that, Hika had no idea how to attack the specter and the odds are that, if the specter caught up with them, they would definitely be killed or at least be severely injured and won’t acquire the bat. She huffed down the path, beads of sweat rolling down her face to her neck. ”Uhh. What do we actually do now?” She breathed still looking straight ahead of her, wiping the sweat off her forehead. Metally face-palming herself, she thought, Goddammit Hikari. Stop asking poeple! Just think of a way!

Naruto dashed away, Damien holding tight to his arms. The boy was scared, the obvious shivering he had got Naruto aware of it. “Just keep running, that thing won’t get out of its territory!” Naruto didn’t know why he told the other two that, as he had never known whether specters had their own territory kind of thing actually. “Damn I lied to them..” Naruto felt guilt rushing through his blood, slowing his pace gradually. Hikari asked him for something to do, but Naruto couldn’t really think of something at that kind of moment. They were running away, and the fact that he was too weak really bothered him. Naruto shook his head, now looking more confident. “I should get them out safe, and that includes that damn bat.” Naruto thought to himself, continuing the dash as he did.

“Now we run, run until I say stop,” Naruto looked back, there was no sign of specters running for them, but he needed to reassure their safety, so a few more running wouldn’t hurt. Taking a glance towards Damien, he was gasping rather outpaced, his lungs out of oxygen. Naruto stopped immediately, hiding behind a huge tree after. “Hey, you okay? Can keep up?” Naruto asked, but he didn’t reply. What important most for Damien at that moment was to catch up with his breath. It was an obvious no for Naruto’s questions, and that reply was enough for him to be able to assess the situation. There was no rampaging wolf, no specters no nothing, so he thought it would be safe for them to take a rest for a while.
