Personality: Xiaomin is extremely distrustful of others, due entirely to her childhood. Her father was a member of the Midi underground’s Kahoshi-clan, leading their branch in Dongxia. When she was twelve, one of his lieutenants betrayed the Family to the local triad. While a few men loyal to her managed to smuggle her out of the country, the experience left her hesitant to trust anyone. This is why she is often cruel to her subordinates, choosing to keep them in line with fear rather than loyalty.

Despite this general mistrust of others, she remains incredibly dedicated to the Family. Her dedication to duty is strong, which oddly includes looking after the very subordinates that she tries to control through fear. This can lead her to seeming contradictory to those that do not know her, but the truth is she is just trying her best to carry out her duties both as a lieutenant under the Kahoshi-clan and a leader of her own people. She is ruthless when she needs to be, but does not revel in the pain and suffering of others.

That is, unless someone mentions her short stature. Then they will suffer from all of her tiny rage.

When it comes to combat, she prefers to leave the heavy lifting to others. Her magic, Visualization, creates an image of her favorite animal as the vehicle for the magic. In this way it can only move as fast as the animal would, making her attacks slower than that of other mages. It is also because of this that she is partial to carrying normal firearms, which cover for her magic’s innate weakness. Because of these shortcomings, she avoids having to fight personally when possible. Instead she uses her magic defensively, keeping enemies are bay while her subordinates finish them off.

Likes:

• Butterflies are her favorite animal, which is why her magic takes their appearance.
  
• Milk. Because of the taste, not because it's supposed to make you taller!
  
• Golden colors. Perhaps due to her childhood being surrounded by wealth, she loves the luster and color of gold more than any other color.
  
• Subservience. People bowing before her brings her endless amount of joy, possibly a byproduct of feeling so helpless in her youth.
  
• Silenced guns. She loves the cold efficiency firearms brings in support of her slow magic, but does not like their usual noise.
  

Dislikes:

• Her height. So much so that she becomes furious anytime someone brings it up.
  
• Her name, which means “Little Genius.” The genius part is fine, but clearly her dad was kind of a jerk.
  
• Banzai stretches. It turns out they do not help you grow taller.
  
• Loud noises make her very uncomfortable. Not quite afraid, but she still tries to avoid them when possible.
  

Motivations:

• To establish a foothold within Fiore for the Kahoshi-clan.
  
• To rise in power such that she can return to her homeland and take back what was stolen from her family.
  
• To prove that she is no longer a weak and helpless girl like she was six years ago.
  

Fears:

• Betrayal. Because of her past, she has come to believe that anyone will betray you given the chance, so she treats everyone as such.
  
• Dark spaces, which bring back memories of being smuggled out of Dongxia.
  
• Growing shorter. It can happen! Look at old people.
