EXPLORING NEW FRONTIERS (ROTWANG, SOLO)

It had been some time since Rotwang's latest adventures and these had been rather eventful since the main one among them had come in the form of him having to work in concert with a recent acquaintance named Jaheira to undertake a rescue operation with said operation's sole objective having been the swift rescue of his research/nurse assistant, Hygīa Curie, from the clutches of her erstwhile captors while also sending a clear message to said captors' employer to never trifle with him again lest they provoke his ire once more. Alas, this rescue operation ended up nearly drawing the one thing he did not want on him to him nonetheless, that being the heavy attention of the Magic Council in Era onto him since the enemy base had been set up on a rather steep cliff near the outskirts of Era and despite all the planning he had done to keep things "below the radar", as the saying went, this rescue operation had ended up causing quite the commotion which is why and how the Magic Council in Era nearly came down on him for it.

The other adventures that Rotwang had experienced during this period were related to this former adventure in that they came about as a consequence of it. Specifically, these involved him being forced to create an entirely new body for himself to give himself a new identity altogether by combining his knowledge of and skill with the ancient alchemical art of homunculi manufacturing with the much more modern cybernetic nanotechnology that he had re-invented here in Earthland in the form of lacrimatek technology over the course of his ongoing and ever-burgeoning mad science research through the use of the memory data he had retained within his soul regarding the technology from his old world. To complete this process, he had developed a special soul transplant procedure that he had applied to himself for moving his soul and the data contained therein from his old body which was called "Nikola Eisenstein" into this new one which he christened with the name "Rotwang Frankenstein" in honor of the two forefathers of all mad scientists like himself, one of these prototypical mad scientists being a man named "C.A. Rotwang" and the other being a man called "Victor Frankenstein". Both of these two mad scientists had lived long ago in the world that his soul had originated from and from whence it had been reincarnated with all the various data types contained therein into the world of Earthland in the classic isekai fashion. Naturally, Rotwang also ensured to port all the various features that he had long since installed into his old body over to this new one that he had developed for himself so that he could retain full and free access to the usage of all these alongside this new and improved body.  

Naturally, Rotwang had also transferred over all other possessions and data that he had gathered via his old body into the possession of this new and improved one, again so that he could retain full and free access to the usage of all these alongside this new as well as improved body. Furthermore, to truly ensure that no connection could be traced from his old self to this new existence as well as identity that he had crafted for himself, he even went so far as to give his nurse/research assistant, Hygīa Curie, a brand new body and identity as well. This new body of hers was a hybrid one of his own design, that being a queen slime's body with the core therein being infused with the soul data from a shoggoth and the soul data from her original nāgini form as well, thus allowing her to not only acquire new skills and abilities, but also retain the ones from her previous form. Of course, he also gave her a new name to commemorate this momentous occasion just as he had done for himself and also to add yet another layer of secrecy and safety for their use. Thus, with all these precautions now firmly in place, he could finally rest assured that he would be safe from reproach from the Magic Council for any perceived disturbance of the peace in Fiore that they may have been considering accusing him as well as his various subordinates of due to their most recent escapade near Era, namely, his successful rescue operation wherein he was able to take his nurse/research assistant back from the clutches of her foolhardy captors successfully.

Fortunately, no such reprimand came at Rotwang from the Magic Council or from their designated armed forces, the Rune Knights, so he was able to dodge the proverbial bullet there. Since then, he had resumed his immersion into the daily grind of his life which included things such as overseeing new product line development for "SteinCorp" which was the famous multinational business conglomerate that was owned and operated by his family and to which he was the heir, albeit now more in secret then out in the open like he used to do in the past when his identity was still his old "Nikola Eisenstein" self, meeting and mingling with the heirs and heiresses of other similarly large and influential corporations and business families, attending to his patients in his professional work as a physician-scientist magus, relaxing in the pleasurable company of his monstergirl maids, and last but not least, his ongoing as well as ever-burgeoning mad science research efforts. This last one was the subject of his musings on this fine day when, for once, he was left free and clear to immerse himself in this pursuit as he wished, a fact that came as quite a surprise to him

Nov zat I haf acqfired zome much needed free time to pursue mein rezearch once again, perhapz it iss time to look into improfink zose summonink zigilz zat I haf been meanink to experiment vizz...for zey kould certainly be improfed in qfality undt schtability from zeir kurrent schtatus...

Rotwang thought silently as he sat on the large, luxuriously crafted, rather expensively decorated couch in his mansion's recreation room where they had been indulging in activities such as vintage wine tasting, novel reading, classic music playing, and so on and where now, he was taking a breather from those activities on said couch while being surrounded by and thoroughly enjoying the always pleasurable company of his monstergirl maids as was their normal routine for relaxation. As he did, he heard his head maid, Jeanne, speak up to inquire about what was on his mind and so, he remarked in response

"I am kontemplatink ze different options zat I haf afailable to me fur attemptink to improfe ze summonink zigilz zat I haf been experimentink with recently...but I am findink meinzelf a tad schtymied az to how to do zo in an efficient manner...zpecifikally regartink ze balance between ze rapidity uff summonink undt ze schtability uff kontrol zat ze zigil vill grant me ofer ze entity in qfestion...Haf you any zoughtz to schare regartink zis matter, mein fräulein?"

To that, as Rotwang listened on, he saw Jeanne ponder the issue silently for several moments and then, he heard her respond with her thoughts on the subject

"Well, Master Frankenstein, I think that, perhaps, it would be wise for you to try infusing some of those organite swarms that comprise your body into the sigils..."

Rotwang considered Jeanne's suggestion for several moments silently and thought aloud about the matter while also clarifying exactly what Jeanne may have had in mind

"You mean, due to ze fact zat I kan exert mein konzciouznezz onto each of zese organitez, zat ze many svarmz uff zem vould be a zuitable konduit to kreate an indirekt mental link betveen me undt ze zummoned entity or eqfipment, vich vould zen schtabilize zat entity in ze local zpace I vill haf zummoned it into?...Jawohl...you kould fery vell be right about zat..."

Saying thus, Rotwang fell silent to ponder the issue some more, but little did he realize at that moment that this conversation would soon inspire him to create an entire new magic system for his use from then on.

As Rotwang continued to ponder the issue further, he heard another of his maids chime in with yet another idea which he would soon find to be equally useful in assisting him with the development of his soon-to-be final one of his three magic system set

"Another improvement which could end up benefiting your cause would be runic magic, Master Frankenstein...so perhaps you ought to conduct some experiments with it to see if you can adapt it somehow to improve those summoning sigils..."

Rotwang considered the maid's idea as well and thought aloud about it as he did this since he also wanted to prompt more suggestions from his maids if possible

"Ah jawohl, I do remember vitnessink runes beink uzed to qfite great effekt by ze elder uff zose Fikink varriorz alongzide whom I hed fought in zat bettle in zat von var zat heppent betveen Bellum undt Pergrente...but perhepz...inztead uff runik magik itzelf...I kould vork on dezignink nanocircuitz vich take ze form uff runez to zee vezzer or not zat vould allow zem to haf ze zem effect...jawohl...let uz be off to ze lab zen...for it iss time fur mein rezearch schtudiez on zis subchect to begin...undt all uff you are goink to help me..."

With that said, Rotwang teleported himself along with all of his monstergirl maids to his lab despite their protests that they had a lot of work to do in the estate's upkeep so that he could have them help him with his research. In exchange, he ordered them to instruct their respective subordinate maid squads to take over their specified housekeeping duties until such a time that they would be free from their current job of assisting him with his research. After bringing them all to his lab along with him, he then got down to work immediately in creating those nanocircuits in the shape of runes. Naturally, as with the rest of his equipment and even his own cyborg body, he also chosen to construct these special circuits from lacrimatek smart materials so that they could show the maximum predicted compatibility with his mana and with that of his subordinates as well as the intended recipients of these new and improved summoning sigils since said sigils were all to be composed of these new nanocircuits. Then, for the first stage of his experimentation, he ordered his maids to bring out a few samples of the summoning sigils that he was currently using since they were each non-runic in shape and did not have his organites infused into them, which made them perfect candidates to be the control samples for said first round of experimentation.

Thus began Rotwang's first round of experiments with his new prototype summoning sigils which he designed out of the same lacrimatek smart materials as the nanocircuits comprising the current summoning sigils that he had been using as samples in these upcoming experiments. However, these new summoning sigils were still different from the old ones which he was using as controls for this experiment series since these new ones were designed in the shape of ancient Viking runes, and more precisely in the elder Futhark script style since it was the older of the two in use and therefore was more supernaturally empowered than the younger Futhark script style which was more recent and thus, less supernaturally empowered overall. Naturally, for the sake of generating enough data to allow for more thorough analysis afterward, he ran a total of 1000 trials with these new sigils and in each one, his monstergirl maids assisted him by being the overseers of each piece of supporting equipment necessary for ensuring the smooth running of the trials in session.

Naturally, to ensure that he had enough data to work with and analyze later from these 1000 trials, Rotwang cloned the golem monstergirl maid among this group many times over until he had 1000 copies of her to employ as the actual base experimental specimens in this experimental series. He split this group into two subgroups of 500 copies each and assigned one to be the test and the other one to be the control group. Onto each specimen in the control group, he implanted the current summoning sigil that he had been working with for a while now and onto each specimen in the test group, he then implanted the new prototype runic shaped summoning sigils that he was attempting to develop via this research project. Once he had finished this step as well, next, he implanted the control sample summoning sigil, aka the old one he had been working with onto his left hand and implanted the test sample summoning sigil onto his right, with both of these being the master summoning sigils which were designed to pair with the summoning sigils that he had implanted onto his test subjects for this experimental series. After that, he led both groups of cloned homunculus monstergirl maids to the test area wherein his personal support squad of monstergirl maids led by his head maid, Jeanne, had been standing by for further instructions from him and to perform their assigned duties of overseeing the rest of the equipment that he would be using in these experiments.

Upon arrival, Rotwang immediately got down to work and instructed the control group of clones with the old summoning sigil to station themselves at a specified distance away from him, first within his line of sight and then outside it, after which point, he ordered the commencement of this series of experiments. To that end, after he received positive confirmation from each of his personal monstergirl maid support squad that all the monitoring equipment, the troubleshooting equipment, the area control equipment, and so on were online and ready to work, he began the experiments in earnest, starting off with summoning each specimen in the control group to him repeatedly, and by doing so, he established a baseline dataset to employ as a standard of comparison for this research project.

How fery intereztink...efen zis kontrol group uff summonink zigilz vorks vezzer or not zere iss a klear line uff zight to ze targetz, but...zey schtill zeem to be limited in diztance...a fakt zat needz to be addrezzed durink ze zpecial fine-tunink procezz zat I vill be runnink upon each zample uff ze new prototype summonink zigilz zat I vill be testink ofer ze kourze uff zese experimentz...undt now zat I haf finisched vit ze kontrol data kollektion...it iss time to mofe on to ze tezt group...        

Rotwang thought thus silently as he stopped to review his work after he finished these 1000 trials of summoning with the control group in this manner, he then proceeded to repeat these same 1000 trials, only now he was going to be using the test group in which each specimen bore one copy of the new prototype summoning sigils that he had developed earlier. As was the case with the control group of summoning sigils, he found that these test samples of new summoning sigils also worked perfectly regardless of his clarity of line-of-sight to his targets and were similarly limited in distance as well, thus confirming the urgent need to refine that aspect of their design later on. Additionally, he also found that the hypothesis that he had come up with after considering the ideas that Jeanne and the other one of his maids had provided him with in terms of how to improve the old sigils that he had been using before now had been correct after all. More specifically, this was the one which stated that the runic design schematic he had chosen to construct the new prototype summoning sigils would indeed improve the overall efficiency of mana control as well as the overall rapidity of summoning during the summoning process to a statistically significant degree. Naturally, at this stage, he had not yet infused the organite swarms from his body into the sigils since that was what he was planning to investigate next.

Finally, once Rotwang's personal support squad of monstergirl maids had informed him that all the data generated by the test group of summoning sigils had also been stored securely in the data storage equipment along with the control group's generated data, he moved onto the next and last phase of his experimental series. To this end, he infused small portions of the innumerable organite swarms comprising his body into each of the new prototype summoning sigils, with the hypothesis guiding him in this last phase of experimentation being that this modification would improve the stability of the summoned being in the local space that he would be summoning each one into over the course of these last set of 1000 trials. After finishing the infusion process, he then commenced said 1000 trials with the new prototype summoning sigils which he had placed upon each of the 500 members of the test group of cloned homunculus monstergirl maids who were assisting him with these experiments. Again, this hypothesis that he made for this part of the research project also ended up being confirmed in full over the course of these last 1000 trials, thus closing out the day's agenda.

Over the next month or so that followed this most momentous day of research, Rotwang immersed himself even more obsessively in the further development and refinement of these new prototypical summoning sigils and eventually managed to bring them from their beta release versions to their alpha release versions, thus completing the final product at long last. Over the long course of all this work, he had also discovered another variant of summoning, and this one was known as Requip magic. The only real difference between this brand of magic and his current summoning magic type was that this Requip magic seemed to focus on working with equipment rather than creatures of all kinds for the summoning process, but otherwise, he found that the principles that governed them were quite similar in nature. Thanks to this new information he had come across, he realized that by combining these two different variants of summoning into a single, seamlessly unified system, he could, in fact, end up creating an entire system of magic for his use in the foreseeable future and thus over the course of yet another month or so, he repeated the experimental series that he had conducted over the past month or so with this Requip magic as well and his new prototype summoning sigils proved to work just as well with equipment as they did with actual creatures, leading him to successfully develop this brand new magic system for himself to use at will later on, thus bringing this several months long research project he had undertaken to a successful close.
