The last train to arrive at Magnolia station that late afternoon came to a stop. Varying travellers stepping off the carriages and onto the platform once the doors had opened. A young man wearing a baggy black t-shirt, light blue denim jeans and white sneakers was the last to step off of the train. Over his right shoulder was a grey duffle bag that looked like it wasn't carrying much of anything and upon his face was a very distinctive mask. This, was Adeptus. Many of the passengers who had disembarked the train along with the young wizard had been giving him unusual looks, questioning stares and whispers among themselves at the sight of his mask. They thought it was a little strange that he had been wearing it the entire time they had saw him but little did they know that Adeptus wore this mask all the time, even when he slept. The mask itself wasn't physical, it was incorporeal and anyone who would try to touch it would have their hand phase right through it. The varying passengers were greeted by others, likely locals but there was no one for the young mage. It was expected however, he had told no one he was coming, nor did he know anyone from Magnolia. His only goal at the moment was to find the Fairy Tail Guild Hall.
Stepping off the platform and making his way up a cobblestone path, Adeptus began to make his way further into town. He took several wrong turns and dead ends before he finally decided to ask for some directions from an elderly couple on their walk home just ahead of him. "Excuse me!" Adeptus called out, picking his pace up a little bit to reach them sooner. The elderly couple turned to face him, only to have an expression of dread and fear appear on their face at the sight of the young mage's mask. "Y-yes?" The both asked in unison, the voice shaking and they were likely only a few clicks away from a heartache. "Can you please tell me the direction of the Fairy Tail guild hall?" He asked. Although his voice was calm and soothing, sometimes the mask wasn't easy for strangers to get past and a lot of the time they turn tail and run. The two of them didn't vocalise their answer and instead, pointed in unison to further up the road that they were on. Not to cause them heard failure, Adeptus began to start walking faster in the direction they pointed to, politely waving back to them with a "Thank you."
Adeptus had only walked for a further three or four minutes when he noticed a distinctive, large building standing tall in the distance. Although it was night now, it was visibly clear that the lights were on and as he drew closer to the building, sounds could be heard coming from inside as well. A clear indication that the building was active, unlike the rest of Magnolia. Approaching the front door, Adeptus took a deep breath and began to push against them to enter. Fairy Tail had sent guild member many years ago to Adeptus' hometown to deal with a request that had been placed and the young mage was fortunate enough to have met one of the members. He can't remember what they looked like or their name, but he knew from that day on that he wanted to join Fairy Tail. The doors of the guild hall swung open and the young masked mage stepped inside to take in the scene.
