    Name: Ryoko Covey

    Gender: Female

    Age: 28

    Birthday: January 2nd

    Sexuality: Bisexual

Special Characteristics: A large, patchy burn scar that extends over much of her left arm and hand. Usually covered by a white and red elbow-length fingerless glove. Her eyes are typically dull and lifeless, and her face often lacks any form of emotion, only changing when involved in something revolving around her friend or music.

Personality: Mostly stoic and serious, Ryoko rarely smiles at anyone, save for Hugo or her family. It was never something that she really felt the need to do, as she's always preferred allowing her actions to show her mood. Oftentimes, when she's happy, you'll find her humming a melody that she has found a way to match to one of her routines, mapping it out to the rhythm, or you'll find her hanging upside-down in a tree, reading a book. If she’s upset, her stoicism quickly turns to a bitter scowl, her tone becoming rather snippy towards anyone unfortunate enough to bother her at the time.

When Ryoko is sad, however, you'll usually find her playing an instrument of some kind, or lingering near a place that has some type of live music. Her mostly serious nature falls slightly away when she falls into her daily routine of practicing, her stiff personality giving way to a more loose and relaxed version of herself (Though she notably never smiles, not even when she's happy), swaying and twirling to the beat of whatever song that she might be listening to. Dancing to the beat of music is something that grounds her, and reminds her that she has things that she needs to live for.

In combat, her personality takes a dramatic shift. Instead of the serious personality she puts up normally, she shifts for a more flashy and eccentric style, taunting her opponents with a witty smile plastered across her face. Battle is one of the few times she prefers to be one of those actively participating, rather than by merely being the conductor. On the off chance that she's forced into a leadership role, she'll often time her commands to some form of rhythm, be it something that she has playing already, or something that she whips up on the spot.

Music: The Art of Music has long been Ryoko’s solace in life, the one thing that actually keeps her going. When she isn’t doing some form of guildwork, or practicing for a concert, she has her headphones sitting on her head, playing some form of instrumental or choral piece. To her, a world without Music is a world without color and life. As such, she makes an effort to nurture any efforts in producing it with excitement, even if the attempts are rather… lackluster in nature.

Dancing: Ryoko often chooses to incorporate dancing into her fighting style, allowing herself to get lost within the flow of movement. Oftentimes, she’ll practice her fighting style by having someone play a piece of music, and choreographing it to the beat of whatever the person happens to be playing, often changing styles at the drop of a hat. If there's nobody there to give her instruction, she'll often begin to play some music through her headphones, and begin to fight to the beat of her music

Conducting: Her pride and Joy, a talent that she’s honed through years of practice. Her skills were known well enough in Magnolia that she played in many of the higher end venues for various Orchestras or Vocal groups that needed an instructor. Be it simple guidance on how to match certain tempos, teaching conducting hopefuls new flourishes that they can utilize in their style, or simply lending a helping hand to those who require it, Ryoko is there to help out.

Hugo DiLento: Her closest friend and confidant, someone that she always finds time for in her daily life. His magic has long fascinated her since she was little, the sounds that it produced often leaving her speechless with awe. The pair often performed at local venues when they needed something to do, dazzling the town of magnolia with their skills. However, an accident during one of their shows left him permanently crippled, destroying their dream of traveling the world together.

    Dislikes

Injustice: Nothing grates on her nerves more than simply seeing something undeserved happening to someone out of the blue. Oftentimes, she’ll fight back against anyone who acts in bad faith towards another person, delivering a swift and painful dose of justice towards those involved.

Unnecessary suffering: Simply put, Ryoko doesn’t mind seeing death. After all, it happens to be a natural part of life, something that everyone will experience at some point or another. However, she does NOT like the idea of someone forcibly drawing out the torment of another person for no discernable reason. Seeing such a thing is often enough to cause her to intervene and attack the persons responsible, and deal with them accordingly. To kill someone is one thing, to prolong their suffering is an act of cruelty.

Bullies: Ryoko can’t stand bullies. Simply put, they’re all cowards that just have to pick on someone weaker than them, or someone that has it better than them, simply because they’re either jealous, or want to feel better about themselves. It’s such a petty method of self-assurance, and its one that feels utterly pathetic to so much as look at. If you feel unconfident about something, just take action about it through a much more reasonable method.

    Motivations

To Find the one who hurt Hugo: She knows deep down that the fire that scarred her arm, and stole away Hugo’s arm and eye was no accident. A strange figure had unleashed a torrent of flames that scorched away the venue, leaving dozens upon dozens injured, including Ryoko and Hugo. One day, she plans to hunt down the one responsible, and make them pay for their crimes.

To become a famous conductor: Something that she has dreamed of ever since she attended her very first concert. Seeing the emotion reflected in those that took the lead, along with the people that the conductor was instructing, their fantastic flourishes mesmerized her even as a child.

To become a Wizard Saint: Ryoko has a secondary dream as well, to become a member of the wizard saints. Being able to protect others, and have the reach of a wizard saint to the people of Fiore would be the ultimate boon to her, and it would afford her resources not often given to ordinary wizards, making it possible to finally track down the one that hurt her friend. Honestly though, she always felt as though achieving such a goal would be a secondary accomplishment, one that wouldn’t matter as much in the long run.

    Fears

Fire: The Theatre fire that maimed both herself and Hugo left a permanent mark on her, both physical and mental. Ryoko often panics at the mere scent of fire reaching her, enough to send her into a frenzy that leaves her unable to think straight. She can only just barely handle seeing a lit fireplace or burning coals, only tolerating them for a short period of time.

Becoming Deaf/Becoming Blind: Losing any of her senses would be damn near debilitating to her, especially her sight and hearing, two of the most vital senses to her line of work. Ryoko could handle it if it weren’t for the fact that she would be locked away from the only real talent that she knew how to utilize, and that went doubly so for if she were to suffer both at the same time.

Injuries to limbs/Dismemberment: … but that fear pales in comparison to the mere idea of any of witnessing limbs being damaged (Hers or someone else’s), even temporarily. However, unlike fire, this has a tendency to result in her going borderline feral as she tries to beat down or damage whatever might be the cause of such an injury, be it a person or simple object. Dismemberment isn’t something that she would wish on her worst enemy, not in a thousand years.
