Heck yes. Another festival. More free food, free drinks, free entertainment, and free whatever else that hadn't been mentioned. Except for the bad and unwanted stuff. Those could be lived without. Such as free stomach pains from excessive overeating. Aliarey had learned her lesson from the spring festival a few months ago. If there was to be any eating it was going to be limited. That was the plan at least. Her cautious side was always easily overwritten by the stronger personality traits of herself. Her plan required willpower and she had very little when it came to temptation. Ah oh well. That was a problem for later if it happened. Right now the blonde wasn't hungry enough to track down anything edible. Even the seasonal candy and sweets were ignored.
Alia walked through the crowd, paying attention to no one in particular. Most of those people were costumed, of course, but she wasn't one to get too impressed or care about what others around her wore. To her, they were just moving objects that were in the way while she tried to check out the activities. It was that time when she and Diana met up to hang out and catch up so she wanted to get some idea of what the two of them could do for some fun. She too was costumed. As one of the scariest things she could think of. On her body was the outfit of what could only be categorized as a type of magical girl. Yes, truly the cutesy look would bring fear to those around her, or at least to herself whenever she looked back at the pictures from that day. The outfit from last year could have been worn instead but that was pretty boring, especially since technically it was just one of her old requip outfits instead of an actual costume. Now she was in the true spirit of things. Like Diana was last year... if Alia could even remember what Diana wore. That detail was deleted from her brain or something. It was cute though. That much she could remember.
Well, whatever Diana dressed up as the current year would have to be a mystery until she arrived. Like usual, Alia had sent Diana some messages earlier prior to the festival, and also like usual they had decided to just meet each other there. The two of them were nothing if not consistent when it came to their meet-ups. One day they were going to leave for the festival together rather than meet there. Not that day though. The blue-eyed team member of Blonde Ambition was stuck waiting for her teammate and friend to show. Rarely did she ever have to wait long but damn. Patience wasn't her strong suit and she couldn't keep herself entertained just wandering around. She wanted to get to the games! The prizes! The... whatever it was those people over there were doing! And over there with all the screaming! There was so much to do and it all looked and sounded so fun. Maybe she should have waited for Diana at the front entrance. Waiting with everything in front of her was torture.
"Hi, there! Want to try some of this mystical witch's brew?" Asked a woman who was busying herself with stirring a cauldron with a huge ladle. The stranger, who Aliarey immediately assumed was one of the festival volunteers, was dressed as a witch and must have been assigned the role of giving out some kind of beverage.
"Huh." Aliarey, now her attention on the cauldron and its contents, took a few steps forward and examined the liquid. It swirled around the cauldron, glowing more brightly than anything drinkable ever should. "Is that the usual punch?" It smelled like punch. There were plastic potion bottles on a table next to the volunteer and her cauldron as well and the worker didn't hesitate to grab one and pour some of the liquid inside it.
"You've had some of the Halloween punch before then. Good. You won't be too surprised then to know it's enchanted but still delicious!" The plastic potion bottle was handed over.
"Uh, thanks. I guess." Aliarey took it and stared at it while stepping away so other people could get to the cauldron. She didn't actually say that she wanted any punch. It was tasty sure but those enchantments could be silly and sometimes inconvenient. Hers from last year wasn't so bad, but what would happen that time? She shrugged. Might as well throw caution out the window and just see what happened anyway.
Raising the plastic bottle to her lips, Aliarey took a sip. Just a small taste. Satisfied that it wasn't horribly tasting she began to down the entire bottle, leaving not a single drop. The effect that came from the potion was certainly different than the ghost of last year. Her skeleton could now be seen glowing eerily from beneath her skin. She didn't take notice of the additional look to her costume at first. It was hard to tell without a mirror and she hadn't been looking at her hands or shoulders. It wasn't until the witch-costumed volunteer approached and handed her some kind of skull token and said something about it that the oblivious young woman thought to look at her body to check the damage. "Oh, nice effect! I haven't seen the skeleton one before! Now you match the festival tokens!"
"Skeleton?" Alia repeated in confusion. Then it clicked. "Oh great." Looking at her hands, shoulders, and even lifting parts of her outfit up to check underneath, she saw it. Her bones were now showing. Thankfully just underneath the skin so she wasn't an actual walking skeleton with zero skin. It was still annoying though! Her costume was now less cute and thus less scary. The green glow didn't even match! "This better wear off!"
Sighing angrily, Aliarey shook her head and tried to let it go. What was done was done, and it wasn't as if blowing the place up was going to fix anything. The skull token was put away in a small pocket the costume just so happened to have at her hips beneath the more frilly layer of cloth. In its place was her iLac, which was used to send Diana a short message.
'You here yet? I'm at some witch cauldron thing. It has good punch.'
Did she intend to warn Diana about the punch having magic effects in it? Nah. Most likely Diana already knew what to expect anyway but just in case she didn't why ruin the fun? Unless there are even worse effects than having a glowing skeleton for who knew how long.
