Heck yes. Another festival. More free food, free drinks, free entertainment, and free whatever else that hadn't been mentioned. Except for the bad and unwanted stuff. Those could be lived without. Such as free stomach pains from excessive overeating. Aliarey had learned her lesson from the spring festival a few months ago. If there was to be any eating it was going to be limited. That was the plan at least. Her cautious side was always easily overwritten by the stronger personality traits of herself. Her plan required willpower and she had very little when it came to temptation. Ah oh well. That was a problem for later if it happened. Right now the blonde wasn't hungry enough to track down anything edible. Even the seasonal candy and sweets were ignored.

Alia walked through the crowd, paying attention to no one in particular. Most of those people were costumed, of course, but she wasn't one to get too impressed or care about what others around her wore. To her, they were just moving objects that were in the way while she tried to check out the activities. It was that time when she and Diana met up to hang out and catch up so she wanted to get some idea of what the two of them could do for some fun. She too was costumed. As one of the scariest things she could think of. On her body was the outfit of what could only be categorized as a type of magical girl. Yes, truly the cutesy look would bring fear to those around her, or at least to herself whenever she looked back at the pictures from that day. The outfit from last year could have been worn instead but that was pretty boring, especially since technically it was just one of her old requip outfits instead of an actual costume. Now she was in the true spirit of things. Like Diana was last year... if Alia could even remember what Diana wore. That detail was deleted from her brain or something. It was cute though. That much she could remember.

Well, whatever Diana dressed up as the current year would have to be a mystery until she arrived. Like usual, Alia had sent Diana some messages earlier prior to the festival, and also like usual they had decided to just meet each other there. The two of them were nothing if not consistent when it came to their meet-ups. One day they were going to leave for the festival together rather than meet there. Not that day though. The blue-eyed team member of Blonde Ambition was stuck waiting for her teammate and friend to show. Rarely did she ever have to wait long but damn. Patience wasn't her strong suit and she couldn't keep herself entertained just wandering around. She wanted to get to the games! The prizes! The... whatever it was those people over there were doing! And over there with all the screaming! There was so much to do and it all looked and sounded so fun. Maybe she should have waited for Diana at the front entrance. Waiting with everything in front of her was torture.

"Hi, there! Want to try some of this mystical witch's brew?" Asked a woman who was busying herself with stirring a cauldron with a huge ladle. The stranger, who Aliarey immediately assumed was one of the festival volunteers, was dressed as a witch and must have been assigned the role of giving out some kind of beverage.

"Huh." Aliarey, now her attention on the cauldron and its contents, took a few steps forward and examined the liquid. It swirled around the cauldron, glowing more brightly than anything drinkable ever should. "Is that the usual punch?" It smelled like punch. There were plastic potion bottles on a table next to the volunteer and her cauldron as well and the worker didn't hesitate to grab one and pour some of the liquid inside it.

"You've had some of the Halloween punch before then. Good. You won't be too surprised then to know it's enchanted but still delicious!" The plastic potion bottle was handed over.

"Uh, thanks. I guess." Aliarey took it and stared at it while stepping away so other people could get to the cauldron. She didn't actually say that she wanted any punch. It was tasty sure but those enchantments could be silly and sometimes inconvenient. Hers from last year wasn't so bad, but what would happen that time? She shrugged. Might as well throw caution out the window and just see what happened anyway.

Raising the plastic bottle to her lips, Aliarey took a sip. Just a small taste. Satisfied that it wasn't horribly tasting she began to down the entire bottle, leaving not a single drop. The effect that came from the potion was certainly different than the ghost of last year. Her skeleton could now be seen glowing eerily from beneath her skin. She didn't take notice of the additional look to her costume at first. It was hard to tell without a mirror and she hadn't been looking at her hands or shoulders. It wasn't until the witch-costumed volunteer approached and handed her some kind of skull token and said something about it that the oblivious young woman thought to look at her body to check the damage. "Oh, nice effect! I haven't seen the skeleton one before! Now you match the festival tokens!"

"Skeleton?" Alia repeated in confusion. Then it clicked. "Oh great." Looking at her hands, shoulders, and even lifting parts of her outfit up to check underneath, she saw it. Her bones were now showing. Thankfully just underneath the skin so she wasn't an actual walking skeleton with zero skin. It was still annoying though! Her costume was now less cute and thus less scary. The green glow didn't even match! "This better wear off!"

Sighing angrily, Aliarey shook her head and tried to let it go. What was done was done, and it wasn't as if blowing the place up was going to fix anything. The skull token was put away in a small pocket the costume just so happened to have at her hips beneath the more frilly layer of cloth. In its place was her iLac, which was used to send Diana a short message.

'You here yet? I'm at some witch cauldron thing. It has good punch.'

Did she intend to warn Diana about the punch having magic effects in it? Nah. Most likely Diana already knew what to expect anyway but just in case she didn't why ruin the fun? Unless there are even worse effects than having a glowing skeleton for who knew how long.

Wearing the same "shipgirl" outfit she had worn for the past few years with the addition of makeup to conceal the scars on her back and blue contact lenses to have the same eye color as the "shipgirl" she was dressed as, Diana strolled into Capital Crocus dressed as the anthropomorphic personification of an ancient battleship. It was an old costume but it was still serviceable. Besides, no one would really care about that since they would be too busy doing their thing at the festival to pay attention to her. Judging from a sign that she happened to find, there were quite a few things to do.

Diana spotted an activity named "Witch's Brew" and decided to do that first, if only because it sounded like the most entertaining option at the moment. She left the sign behind and started walking in the direction indicated by the sign, looking all around her as she walked. There were so many colorful costumes that she could not keep track of what each costume was, but she thought she had seen at least one other "shipgirl" in the crowd. She was not sure about that, though.

When Diana finally reached the Witch's Brew area she spotted an event staff member dressed as a witch down to the last detail stirring a cauldron of a brightly colored liquid that must have been a beverage of some sort. Diana looked around her and saw her old friend Aliarey dressed as what looked like a rather cute "magical girl" with the addition of obviously glowing bones. Despite Aliarey's altered appearance the costume still looked good on her.

"Hello, Aliarey. That is a cute costume you are wearing." Diana greeted her old friend. It was amusing to see Aliarey dressed in such an adorable outfit and equally amusing to see the blue-eyed blonde dressed in Diana's favorite color.

"I will try the Witch's Brew activity, then get back to you." Diana told her friend what she planned to do so that the other blonde did not feel ignored. Diana then turned her attention to the witch and the cauldron. She wondered what the beverage would taste like.

Diana had just laid eyes on the woman when the latter dipped a plastic bottle into the cauldron and waited a few seconds to bring it back out. The bottle was full of a liquid, which the witch held out towards Diana. The green-eyed blonde walked over to the witch and took it, then turned to the glowing Aliarey and began to drink from the bottle. The liquid within was blood red and had a pleasant cherry taste... once the beverage was finished she felt a strange feeling in her gums and moments later felt something sharp pressing against her bottom lip. Diana immediately ran the index finger of her right hand down the object and ran it back to her upper lip, where she made the connection.

Her canine teeth had grown much longer and sharper than normal!

Diana received a token the size of a coin from the witch. The token had a prominent skull on it and was well-made for a token handed out at events. Diana returned the empty bottle to the witch and held the token in her right hand as she turned to face Aliarey.

"AliA-" Diana said a single word before the pain from her newly sharpened teeth poking her bottom lip made her stop talking.

"WhAT happEned- TO. TO mE?" Diana asked her friend in broken sentences, her sentences broken up by pain and her wincing at her bottom lip being poked over and over by her newly sharpened upper teeth.

    Skele-Fun and Hallow-Screams Empty Re: Skele-Fun and Hallow-Screams

Post by Aliarey Casady 5th November 2022, 11:29 pm

Aliarey could have jumped ten feet when Diana's voice broke her concentration on the iLac device. Considering she had not spotted her before then it was a little surprising. And a little awkward given that she had just sent a message asking if she was there yet. Diana was a sneaky girl. A silent girl. Like a spider. And a ninja. A spider ninja.

After feeling to make sure her heart had not burst from her chest from that little shock, Aliarey turned around to see that while Diana did stand there, she was not wearing the costume of a spider ninja. That was a bit disappointing but Aliarey knew that's what Diana really was on the inside. "You nearly gave me a heart attack sneaking up like that!" She took a breath to allow herself to settle down more. The iLac was also put away, its purpose being both fulfilled and also pointless. The compliment on her costume had not been registered in her brain and so she neglected to give her thanks. Not that it would have mattered much. Diana was already off to do something else just as quickly as she made her presence known.

Aliarey smiled mischievously then. The Witch's Brew had caught Diana's eye and it was there that her green-eyed teammate was heading. She couldn't wait to see what effect the magically enhanced punch would have on Diana. Waiting was all she could do though for those few short moments that seemed like an eternity for the impatient. At first, nothing seemed to happen. Or that Aliarey noticed. It didn't seem like any obvious physical changes had occurred like with her own skeletal effect. Aliarey crossed her arms and tilted her head as she continued to watch. Was she about to be disappointed? Lame.

When Diana did come back she started to talk, but her voice and words came out... weirdly. Like she was struggling to speak for some reason. Then Aliarey spotted them. The longer and sharper canines that no human should ever have. Those were the infamous marks of a vampire! "No way!" Aliarey rushed closer and peered right at Diana's mouth and new longer teeth. "Vampire fangs? Oh, that's cool! You're now like some vampire maid!" The original costume was already cute but adding the vampire fangs made it neat. And kind of scary. Having a maid as a vampire was kind of dangerous unless the one that hired such a maid was also a vampire. But wait. Aliarey was human. Next to a vampire. Well, mostly human without all those magic technicalities that made her different than the average one. But still human!

Red flags started to raise and the alarms in her head went off. Aliarey cautiously stepped back. "So uh... you don't have a thirst for blood or anything, do you? Because that would be a tiny bit inconvenient for me." And for everyone else too that happened to have normal human blood, but they weren't on her priority list. It was just herself being turned into a Halloween snack that had her worried.

    Skele-Fun and Hallow-Screams Empty Re: Skele-Fun and Hallow-Screams

Post by Diana Winchester 7th November 2022, 2:44 am

Diana was grimly amused by what Aliarey had told her about her new look but remained silent on the matter. Diana was also mildly amused to be mistaken for a maid. She had dressed as a shipgirl named Warspite, but it seemed that Aliarey was not aware of that fact. That was OK, though. The anime Diana had gotten the costume idea from was not very popular and it would be unfair to expect the blue-eyed blonde to recognize a character from a niche anime series on sight.

"DO not worry, Aliarey. I do not hAVE a thirst- for BLooD." Diana answered Aliarey's question with sentences that were slightly less distorted than they were earlier, but it was obvious that speaking was still difficult for her. The green-eyed blonde wondered how long her canine teeth would continue to make speaking difficult. While the longer and sharper canine teeth she currently had were an inconvenience, she supposed that her situation could have been much worse. In her experience no matter how bad things seemed they could always get worse. At least the punch had not "gifted" her with more debilitating vampire traits like a need for blood, a vulnerability to sunlight, or a vulnerability to garlic.

"What wouLD You like TO do from- here?" Diana asked Aliarey what the latter wanted to do using speech that was somewhat more intelligible and had fewer awkward pauses. Diana was starting to get accustomed to her new teeth, but they were still poking her lower lip each and every time she spoke. The green-eyed blonde stopped talking in order to give her bottom lip a break and let Aliarey have a chance to speak. Diana currently did not have an activity that she really wanted to do or an activity that she really wanted to avoid, so she was fine with whatever activity Aliarey wanted to do next.

Post by Aliarey Casady 10th November 2022, 12:16 am

Diana's reply was a bit distorted but a little less than before. Aliarey could understand clearly enough that she was not going to end up being an appetizer if she stuck around. Honestly, the whole being unable to talk normally was very funny to the taller mage. Probably very annoying for Diana but well, sometimes bringing entertainment to others caused a bit of discomfort mentally or physically. Who knew being turned into a vampire but not really a vampire could have that kind of side effect? How did people in the movies manage that? How did the real vampires manage?

Well, whatever the answer to that mystery was would remain unknown to her. It was time to move on now that she knew she was safe around Diana. Already she had an answer to the question of what to do next. She had, after all, been checking out the festival prior to getting mixed up with that witch and her cauldron of magic punch. "I'm glad you asked!" Oh yes. Aliarey was excited about what she had planned. It was going to be great. Maybe. Things could potentially go wrong but that was for future Aliarey and Diana to worry about!

"We're going to The Field of Screams!" Aliarey declared loudly as she pointed to an area on the other side of the festival grounds. It was a maze of sorts and from where they were very little detail could be seen past the crowd and other attractions. However, the screams could easily be heard. The attraction lived up to its name.

Since Diana had been the one to ask what she wanted to do that just automatically meant that she was okay with whatever was picked, right? Aliarey assumed so. That was why immediately after making her choice her hyped-up self began making the charge toward the activity. At least she gave the name and a vague direction toward the chorus of screams. Diana could easily follow if she wanted to catch up.

Post by Diana Winchester 10th November 2022, 12:47 am

Diana listened to Aliarey's declaration that their next activity was in the "Field Of Screams" and did not bat an eye. Aliarey always seemed to like activities that got the adrenaline going and this time was no exception. She had put the choice of activity in her companion's hands, after all. The green-eyed blonde would have to accept whatever consequences stemmed from that decision.

At least Aliarey was not going to bang on any drums again like she had done at Urban Nights.

    There was that small mercy.

"The FielD OF ScreamS it is... TheN." Diana replied as calmly as she could considering that her teeth were turning her bottom lip into a pincushion. Her bottom lip was going to be terribly sore by the end of this festival, but like she had thought earlier, things could have been a lot worse. That thought was of little comfort to her, though. No amount of stoic thought was going to make the reality that her bottom lip was hurting go away.

Diana took a quiet breath and closed her eyes for a moment to take her thoughts off of the pain. When she opened her eyes again she saw Aliarey running off towards the Field Of Screams at a speed that made it look like the blue-eyed blonde had just chugged an entire case of energy drinks. Diana sighed as she began to run after her friend, who had built up a headstart while the former's eyes were closed. Diana had not expected to run in this outfit and did not have any practice running in such an elaborate outfit, so she was going to be slower than her magical girl friend, who was wearing a somewhat more practical outfit with footwear that was more practical than Diana's.

Diana did her best to catch up with her friend as she held the edges of the dress part of her outfit up off of the ground so that the fabric did not get caught on her high heels as she ran. At least the white skirt beneath the dress was long enough to keep the green-eyed blonde decently covered as she ran. That was one less problem for her to worry about.

    Skele-Fun and Hallow-Screams Empty Re: Skele-Fun and Hallow-Screams

Post by Aliarey Casady 17th November 2022, 2:13 am

By the time Diana had managed to catch up to Aliarey everything was all set up and ready to go. Aliarey had made it very clear to the people in charge of the Field of Screams that her friend was right behind her somewhere and they were not starting anything until she caught up. That's right. Everyone else was going to be made to wait. She had made her last-minute reservation for their spots the moment she nearly crashed into the signup booth and she was not about to wait however long it took for the next round after that to get going. It was going to be great and her nerves kept increasing her hype further. Standing still was practically impossible so much so that the blue-eyed blonde was bouncing up and down in place.

Shockingly, the event coordinators did wait. Or so they played it off as such to humor Aliarey. In actuality, the current round was still going on so it wasn't as if they were ready for the next one to start up anyway. Hiding the full truth and taking advantage of gullible customers that had crazy demands was the true master skill of anyone that did a job similar to their own. Not that Aliarey recognized it for what it was. She was just happy that she had gotten her way. One would think she'd be suspicious of how easy and drama free it was but well, she wasn't one to think too hard about it unless her life was in danger. As far as she could tell the entire festival was a safe zone so her guard was completely down as was most common sense.

"Almost tiiimmmee," she told herself out loud. She could feel Diana getting closer and closer as the seconds passed. Standing directly in front of the corn field that was in actuality the maze setup for the event, Aliarey waved her friend down when she saw her. "Hey, hey! Over here!" Awesome! Her teammate had arrived and they could now experience some spooktacular fun.

Some screams echoed in the background, coming from that same maze. Not of full-on terror, of course. The screams were followed by laughter. A victim had been caught by the pretend killer. The last one. That person's game was over. It was funny really. Aliarey had thought the Field of Screams was a type of haunted maze walk. Like those haunted houses some festivals had set up. It turned out that it was a game. She did not mind herself being completely wrong. It was time to win it!

One of the coordinators, some dude dressed as a werewolf, raised a megaphone and howled into it to get everyone's attention. It worked as everyone around him turned to stare. Some even covered their ears from the awful sound. "All right potential victims it's time for the next round! I need everyone to pick an entrance. One person per entrance. That's right. There's no teamwork at the start of this game. You're on your own in this game of survival unless you find each other on the inside. When you're caught you'll be escorted out of the maze by one of our volunteers that are also in the maze hiding. So don't think you can get away with pretending you weren't caught. There are eyes everywhere!"

Aliarey scoffed and narrowed her eyes in mild annoyance. "Aw, man. We have to separate? How lame." She didn't realize it started off as a solo game of "survival". In her mind, Diana and herself would be the awesome duo that would conquer all pretend killers and make their escape from the maze. "Well, I guess we'll just have to luck out and find each other in the maze by accident. Some people around have been saying that our magic is disabled once we go in so we can't really use that as an advantage." With that said, Alia shrugged and gave Diana a small wave. "See ya in the maze maybe. Don't get killed!" That was the last piece of advice she had. A small moment was offered for Diana to make her reply and then Aliarey was off to pick her entrance. There were eleven holes in the cornfield wall. Ten for the victims and one for the selected killer, although everyone assumed they were victims until a killer was chosen as soon as the game started. Each opening led to a different route in the maze, to be connected at various points further into the maze so the killer could reach the targets and so other victims could meet each other and possibly work together. Assuming they trusted each other not to get each other killed like many typical horror movies.

The game started once everyone was in place. A countdown to zero where a screaming effect took the place of a buzzer indicated the start of the game. Each other participant disappeared into the cornfield, Aliarey included. Unfortunately for the woman that was so hyped up to play the game, she didn't make it to the exit. She didn't even last very long. The glow of the skeleton effect from the witch's brew made her stand out. There was no hiding and she was like a beacon that drew the killer away from the other targets. The first few turns of the maze were quiet. She was alone and she could feel it. Then she came to a three-way fork. Ever since choosing a direction, she could feel that she was being followed, but that could have just been gaming paranoia. More turns and directions were made. Based on the silence that meant no one had been found yet. She kept going.

A few minutes later Aliarey met her nemesis. "Dammit, a wall." A ten-foot wall of corn blocked her way. There was no getting past that. Not without her magic and the thought of getting disqualified if she tried to go through the other walls to reach a different route. Turning back was the only option. So she did. Then she saw her second nemesis. The "killer" himself. A white mask disguised their face. It could have been just another person playing the part of a victim if not for the fake knife in hand and the fact he came running toward her like a maniac. There really weren't many options from there. Behind her was an obvious wall blocking the rest of the way. The walls on the side made the pathway likely too small to run past him and make it before he "killed" her. Her magic was disabled so she couldn't stun the bastard. Was physically hurting him allowed? Fuck!

And then she was tagged and killed. It was the end of the game for her. An event coordinator cleverly hiding in the cornfield walls walked out and pulled her into and through the wall of corn to a secret route that led to an exit. Aliarey made her way back to the front of the game. While waiting for Diana to either win or lose the game, Aliarey took the time to rid her costume and hair of all the stuff that shouldn't be there. Did they really have to drag her through the walls to reach an exit? During this process, she was handed a skull token for her participation.

    Skele-Fun and Hallow-Screams Empty Re: Skele-Fun and Hallow-Screams

Post by Diana Winchester 19th November 2022, 1:49 am

Diana managed to catch up to her energetic friend just outside the corn field where the game was to take place. She walked over to her friend and took a few seconds to catch her breath before an event coordinator laid out the rules of the game for everyone. Diana listened to them all and then listened to Aliarey bid her luck before the two blondes were separated and they each went to a separate entrance. Diana grabbed up her dress again and prepared to enter the maze running.

When she heard the scream that signaled the start of the game Diana set out running as fast as she could go. Running in high heels made stealth next to impossible, so she was just going to have to wager on being faster than the other maze runners... and the killer. Diana ran through the maze and had made progress on the first two turns but on the third one, a turn to the left, she encountered a dead end. The hair on the back of her neck stood up as she felt like things were about to get ugly very soon.

Diana had just retraced her steps and started down a corridor when she saw the killer come barreling right at her from the front. The killer was a fellow wearing a plain white mask and holding a knife that was obviously fake, but without her magic to protect her Diana felt genuine apprehension. She quickly did a U-turn and narrowly avoided a "knife" to her back as she ran back the way whence she came. Diana retraced her steps almost to her entrance before she was almost cornered by her pursuer. Diana ducked under the attempt to "stab" her and ran through the maze again, retracing her steps to the straightaway in which she had encountered the killer.

Diana had expected the person to be hot on her heels, but when she looked back he was rounding the corner that led into the corridor. Diana did not hang around and promptly made a right turn, where she found another corridor that had a left turn and a right turn. She was halfway down the new corridor when she heard a scream from a distance behind her and the killer came charging after her with renewed speed. The blonde looked back for a moment before choosing the right turn and making it. Waiting for her there was another dead end.

Diana quickly turned around and saw the killer approaching, so she ran towards the dead end to draw him in before doing a u-turn and quickly ducking under the "knife" aimed at her right shoulder. After the maneuver was complete she resumed running towards the branching point of the maze and when she reached it went left and followed the path until she reached another branching point where she had to choose between left and right.

She was going to go left.

Diana made the left turn just as another scream sounded in the maze. The killer must have found someone else to occupy their attention for a few seconds. Diana made good use of that time to head down a short corridor and went right, where she found a long corridor. She hurried down it and hoped to find the exit without encountering the killer again, but to her chagrin she looked behind her when she was a quarter of the way through and spotted the white-masked man chasing her down like he had chugged a six-pack of energy drinks before resuming the chase.

Diana reached the halfway point and the man was still gaining on her, so she kept running to the end of the corridor, which branched left. Diana went left and was followed by the killer, who was now just a few steps behind her. The turn led to another short corridor and another right turn; Diana blazed through both of them and narrowly managed to avoid being caught in the turn thanks to her speed. She was not sure how much longer she could keep this up... running in a dress and high heels was hard work.

Diana spotted another corridor ahead and ran as hard as she could, but the man was gaining on her. She looked back and saw that he was roughly three meters behind her. Diana looked forward again and kept moving until she reached a left turn, which she took at high speed. She found herself staring down a dead end. She turned around and saw the killer approaching with the knife raised.

The vampire shipgirl was certain that she was going to get "killed", but she was saved by a bell chiming. When the chiming sounded the killer came to a halt within arm's reach of Diana and stood there looking at her. Diana had been saved by the bell, so to speak.

    -Outside the maze-

Diana had survived the maze and had been rewarded with a Skull Token for her survival once she had exited the maze. Diana was somewhat proud of herself for surviving while running in high heels and holding up a dress the whole time. It had been a more challenging ordeal than she had imagined, but she had managed to survive Field Of Screams by running out the clock. Diana held the Skull Token in her right hand as she walked around until she spotted Aliarey. Once she spotted her friend the vampire shipgirl approached the glowing magical girl.

"HellO, AliareY. Did YOu have FuN?" Diana asked her fellow blonde whether she enjoyed the Field Of Screams or not in speech that was much less distorted than before.

    Skele-Fun and Hallow-Screams Empty Re: Skele-Fun and Hallow-Screams

Post by Aliarey Casady 20th November 2022, 9:46 am

"Aha! You made it to the end!" Aliarey exclaimed once she took notice of Diana walking towards her. She really shouldn't have been all too surprised by Diana's success. She was, after all, awesome. Unlike herself whose luck was as bad as any luck could get it seemed. When asked if she had fun there was a bit of disappointment in her reply. She had been so hyped for it and was the first one out. It wasn't fair. "Yeeeaaahhh, I guess in a way it was fun? I got caught soon after it started so that sucked." Could she have tried playing the game again? Sure. It wasn't a play once and you're done for the night game, but the requip mage didn't want to. Getting caught so early made her lose interest so playing once was definitely enough.

Something else had sparked her interest now. Her cerulean eyes stared past Diana and widened with a newfound enthusiasm. "Ooooo! Let's try that game over there!" Aliarey pointed past her friend in the direction where a particular sort of game was set up. The Whack-A-Ghoul, not to be confused with Whack-A-Mole. The two were completely different. The one at the festival had zombies! Aliarey once again zoomed like a maniac, giggling as she rushed past everyone to reach the new thing that had excited her, the loss at the Field of Screams already being totally forgotten. Thankfully for Diana's sake, the game was close by so she didn't have to work as hard to catch up.

Several sets of the Whack-A-Ghoul game were spread out so multiple gamers could play. Aliarey quickly chose one without a player and gripped the rubber mallet that was laying on the board. She pressed the start button and it was game on. Sixty seconds would pass with the little zombie heads popping up and down from their hidey holes. Unfortunately, something was very off with Aliarey's game board. They were supposed to start slowly but hers were moving very fast. It quickly became a frustrating game where she missed several. It didn't make sense. Her aim was better than that. She wouldn't be able to use her guns and other weapons from her magic if she was that terrible yet here she was losing what should have been a very easy game. Was the spirit of Halloween just out to get her?

"Stupid things. Stay still and let me hit you!" And then the sixty seconds were up. A final zombie head popped up in the middle with a participation token in its mouth, a skull token. Aliarey was about ready to toss that damn mallet into the air and through the crowd where she hoped it would burst into flame and die. It was obviously defective. Groaning irritably, Aliarey instead resorted to just gripping it tightly. "Diana, is this game working for you?" She asked, turning away from her game board but not leaving it just yet. Maybe she'd try it again.

    Skele-Fun and Hallow-Screams Empty Re: Skele-Fun and Hallow-Screams

Post by Diana Winchester 21st November 2022, 12:55 am

"It was NOt easy making it tO the end while holding up the edge of my DreSS and running in high heels, but I MAde it." Diana summed up her experience in Field Of Screams. Not having her magic made the experience more adrenaline-pumping. It also made her feel a little more proud of her success because she did not have the luxury of falling back on her magic if things got dicey, which they certainly did near the end. Had it taken a few seconds longer for the bell to ring she would have been caught and "killed."

After that Diana wordlessly approached a game board for Whack-A-Ghoul and picked up the rubber mallet that was waiting for her, then tapped the medium-sized cherry red button that started the game. A moment later a rubber zombie head popped out of the middle hole of nine holes and Diana raised the mallet to hit it on the head, but it dropped down just before she could hit it. The vampire shipgirl frowned and tried again when a zombie popped out of the bottom center. She aimed and brought the mallet down towards its head, but again it dropped down just before the rubber mallet could connect. Unbeknownst to her, that would be a preview of what would happen for the rest of her Whack-A-Ghoul session.

Diana frowned harder and tried to get at least a few hits so that she did not end the game scoreless. She racked up miss after miss with only a hit between them to give her a few points. By the time the game ended Diana had only managed to hit four rubber zombie heads, which was not the result she was hoping for. At least she managed to put a few points on the board before the time allotted for the game session had expired.

Diana set down the mallet and heard something metallic rattle just beside the start button. She looked down and saw a Skull Token sitting in a tray, which she picked up with her right hand. Once she had collected the token she turned to face Aliarey with the token held between her right index finger and thumb to show the glowing magical girl.

"I do not know why I could not hiT more of Them, but at least I got ThIS token for my trouble." Diana commented on her session of Whack-A-Ghoul to her partner. The rubber zombie heads moved a lot faster than she had expected them to, but she was not used to playing that kind of game, so it could have just been her inexperience keeping her from getting a better score. At least she got a Skull Token out of it.
