Solo Word Count: 500 Words
Group Word Count: 1,000 Words
Additional Requirements: N/A
Job Description: A brand new device called the iLac has come out and the manufacturer is giving them away to anyone who visits the factory in Neutral Ground. Keep in mind, as soon as you step foot on Neutral Ground territory, all your magic (Primary, Secondary, Weapons, Armour, Pets, Unique Abilities, Passive Effects) is instantly shut down. But that's no problem because all you're doing is picking up your brand new iLac.
Reward: 5,000 jewel and x1 iLac plot item for everyone participating.
Extra Note: An iLac is a lacrima that functions like our real-world cell phones. It can access Lacrima-net, but CANNOT grant the user access to OOC information on other players. It can grant the user the ability to contact any other player who also owns an iLac, provided that other player gave the caller their Lacrima Identification Code (phone number). The iLac also has a calendar, calculator, HP and MP tracker, stopwatch, alarm, and any other fun applications you can think of (that do not permit your character to know OOC information on another character). It also has a Sorcerer's Magazine app pre-installed.
Of all the steps a criminal could take for getting out of Fiore, going to a store to pick up a free device that could very easily be used to track them sounded like the single most counterintuitive thing. But there was a bit of logic to it. Anya had seen members of the fleet carrying iLac that had very clearly been effectively turned into black boxes when it came to what the people who normally kept track of them could get. That meant there was someone that they could reach out to who was in the business of messing with these things. Initially, her plan had been to sneak into Neutral Grounds to just steal one.
But, well. She felt all of her senses snap back to what they'd used to be when she had taken her first step into the walls of these buildings. She didn't like it here. Magic was something she'd come to accept as deeply intertwined into her identity as a person. So to be locked away from it? It gave an almost panic inducing feeling of being shoved back into her younger years, when she was unable to do anything to defend herself against those who had so thoroughly used what abilities they had to not only abuse her, but traumatize her by effectively removing her entirely from the identity that had once been considered a birthright. Unfortunately, she needed to be here. Having an ILac was the first step in maintaining communications with the Fleet. She'd made a mistake in letting the crew she'd come to Fiore with leave without her. Not having a passport of her own had all but trapped her in the country. But not having any means of communication? That was what had made things truly irritating.
It was why she was going to find herself standing in at least two lines today. Why she was willing to set foot in an area of the world that took away the very thing that made her feel like herself. Each of these things were bad enough on their own. But to have to combine the both of them was almost enough to send her snapping at the people around her. The line felt like it was stretching on forever. Eventually however, Anya got to the front of the line. What was there was certainly interesting. She'd learned firsthand that Lacrima didn't all share the same shape. The same was true for the ILac, it seemed. The sheer number of the models on display were incredible, but Anya did eventually find herself picking one. The particular model she'd chosen was a more portable type, as it was mounted in a bracelet rather than the usual ILac Shell. But it was the only one that she found interesting. Either way, she'd been walked through the concept of how it worked. It was a pain that she wouldn't have it until she got out of here.
Thankfully she was lucky enough to have gotten around to doing this during the company's yearly Giveaway. As she finished talking with the employee who had helped her make the 'purchase', she gave her a thanks. Ah, right. She'd almost forgotten. The fake guild marking on her hand. Right now, she was presenting as a member of Sabertooth. She wasn't quite sure why, but her body seemed to finally catch up with what it was supposed to be in the time she'd needed to take to fully get a handle on some of her new abilities. That was a benefit in and of itself, really. All of her previous crimes were attributed to a woman with incredibly pale skin and hair. That wasn't the case anymore. Still, she was dismissive about the thanks she was given, claiming she had a few more things to take care of.
It wasn't necessarily a lie. She still needed to get her passport, then get the fuck out of this place so she could get this bracelet of hers converted into a less...easily tracked item.
