The day to unleash a Divine Calamity upon Ishgar has come
Lavanitir is one of Fiore's most prominent population centers, the bustling city spreading around the trading port located on an island off Fiore's mainland. Isolated, away from the influence of Fiore, and indeed, any other large nation. Its location makes it a particularly prosperous target for commerce from all surrounding nations, and it is often the target of merchant ship convoys. A perfect target for the beginning of a revolution that will change the continent of Ishgar.
Lavanitir is defended by a sizeable garrison of both city guards and Rune Knights, its location and isolated nature making it the target of frequent raids and attacks from the lowest echelons of society. Divine Calamity is, of course, no ordinary force of chaos, however. Lavanitir has been chosen as the seedbed for the coming changing of times, the coming tide of destruction and war. The decision has been made: Divine Calamity will take over Lavanitir by force to use it as a future base of operations, subjugating it as the first step to greatness, the first step in the creation of their Empire of Ash.

There is only one objective for participants of this Event: Kill or subjugate the defenders of Lavanitir and take the city over by force.
Individual Word Count per participant is set at 4,000 Words. The Event can be completed with or without the use of stats, and all statistics present in this thread are meant to serve as a general guideline only.
The Event will be completed in 2 groups consisting of anywhere between 2-6 players. One group will attack the port city of Lavanitir from the east while the other attacks from the west, both taking out the city defenses and converging upon the city hall to successfully conquer it and complete the event and capture Lavanitir. All defenders must be killed in order for the event objective to be considered complete. Each group will be headed by a Guildmaster of Divine Calamity. The GM spawns Event Enemies at their discretion.
The Event will run for a duration of 6 weeks. The deadline will be the 27th of June, 2pm EST

Description: Your average Rune Knight soldier forming the basis of Lavanitir's Garrison detachment. Many of these men and women are recruits who are deployed here in this remote location to receive some basic job experience over the course of their first deployment while fighting off pirates and smugglers. They wield a wide variety of magics or combat arts which vary from individual to individual. The spells, techniques, and abilities these Rune Knights use are up to the player controlling them, but they are generally nothing to write home about.

Description: Sergeant Miller is a relatively new addition to the ranks of the Rune Knights, a competent soldier and promising candidate for a position as an officer, if inexperienced. The deployment to the Lavanitir garrison is supposed to ease him into a bit of combat experience. Miller wields water magic in combat, and his favorite application thereof being the shaping of his magic into weapons, which he liberally employs in battle.

Description: Staff Sergeant Ross is a dignified man who has joined the Rune Knights not long ago in his late twenties, quickly rising through the ranks based on his efficiency and professionalism. This deployment to Lavanitir is part of his officer training as a part of the Combat Corps. He is a capable mage, although still somewhat lacking in actual combat experience like many of his comrades. In battle, he utilizes high-speed wind magic in combination with his signature weapon, a rapier that resembles the weapons most often employed by the musketeers of Minstrel, where Ross has learned this particular fighting style.

- Warrant Officer Mendoza:

Description: Warrant Officer Mendoza is an officer of the Combat Corps of the Rune Knights, forming part of the command structure of the permanent Garrison stationed in Lavanitir to defend the city from pirate raids and attacks from rogue mages and other criminals. A dutiful and industrious man, he has served in this function for a number of years and takes his role in protecting the civilians and the city of Lavanitir very seriously. In battle, he wields AoE-focussed ice magic that targets enemy groups with especially devastating ranged attacks. Also uses this same magic to reinforce his sword and engage targets in close quarters.

Description: Lieutenant Ozef is part of the Special Operations division of the Rune Knights, acting as an attachment to the current Rune Knight garrison. Not much is known about him based on the nature of his work, but he's the man who handles the intelligence and infiltration surrounding Lavanitir's criminal organizations. He is quiet, but deadly efficient and quite experienced, wielding a Combat Art known as Spatial Distortion to teleport and move with incredible speed before assassinating his opponents with his daggers in close quarters, aiming to kill with targeted and powerful strikes at a foe's vital spots.

Description: Captain Schwarz has been part of the Rune Knights for years, being a part of the original organization before it was restructured after the attack on Era. He forms a team called "Yin & Yang" with his partner, Captain Dreiss, and together, they oversee and administrate most of the Rune Knight affairs in the small Fiorean exclave of Lavanitir off the nation's coast. As such, Schwarz is quite familiar with not only the city and its people, but also the criminal organizations that operate in the area. He has fought many a battle and brings with him a wealth of combat prowess and experience. He prefers engaging targets from a distance with his light magic, firing off a variety of single- and multi target attacks at a rapid pace.

Description: Captain Dreiss, in a similar fashion to his partner and teammate, is part of the command hierarchy of the Lavanitir Rune Knight garrison, being a member of the Rune Knights since before its reorganization. He, too, is an integral part of the permanent hierarchy that manages the affairs of the Rune Knights in Lavanitir, familiar with the city's ins and outs. He works in coordination with Captain Schwarz, attacking targets in close-range with his shadow magic. His strength and speed are extraordinary, and he, much like his partner, is an incredibly capable combatant.

Major Adrian Daniels

Description: Major Adrian Daniels is the highest-ranking officer of the Lavanitir, simultaneously being the strongest and most influential Rune Knight present in the city. He oversees the general operations of the Rune Knights in the area. Despite this, he is one of the younger Knights in the force, joining only a couple of years ago. Still, his career path has been stellar based on raw talent alone, the young man being something of a prodigy, taking over leadership of the Lavanitir Rune Knight garrison not long ago. He finds confidence in his new role and seems sure in everything he does. He is an extraordinarily strong and clever mage, though rarely shows emotion, being a more strategic and calculating individual. He is proficient with magic that controls metals and can shift its density, temperature, and state of matter freely. Daniels is extremely fast and is highly proficient in both close range and long range combat, using a wide variety of spells and attacks to defeat his foes. A highly competent opponent not to be underestimated under any circumstances.

He's just a massive weeb and the horns he sports are made of plastic. He's pretty good with that sword of his. After all, he has studied the blade for years. His training consisted of cutting fruit in his backyard.

Description: Anna is the youngest of the three Meidr siblings, who together form a Team known as the "Clan of Oni". Anna and her siblings are descended from a lineage of Demons, giving all three of them, despite the fact that they appear overwhelmingly human, some characteristically demonic traits. Anna and her siblings were trained in Projection Magic by Tanaka, which they have used to develop a martial art focussed on close-quarters combat. They can create massive fist weapons, which they use to attack with heavy, powerful strikes. While they all joined AP at the same time, Anna has only recently turned 16 and begun her training as a full member of AP, and while she is a natural in this field, the process of learning magic is indeed a long and arduous one.

He, too, was trained in Projection Magic by an Ace of Ascended Phoenix, and manifests ethereal, demon-like hands near him to attack targets. He is strong, fast, experienced, and knows how to handle himself in combat, both with and without the use of his magical martial arts.

Description: Lei is the oldest of the thee Meidr siblings and leader of "Clan of Oni". She, too, bears some demonic traits, and her demonic power is the strongest out of all the siblings. Even in her own family she is considered a prodigy, and her martial prowess is extraordinary. She wields Projection Magic similar to her siblings, enabling her to manifest a demon-like Oni projection in combat, which can be used to deliver swift and overwhelmingly forceful strikes in close combat. The ethereal projection around her form is tough and protects her from attacks. She is exceptionally combat-experienced and has no trouble handling weaker opponents on her own.

Description: Tanaka was originally a Samurai from Midi, formerly in the service of a regional Lord as a clan retainer. One of the three founding members of Ascended Phoenix. She brings a lot of real-world battle experience with her, is an expert in close-quarters combat styles, and is one of the original creators of the school of Projection-type martial arts that Ascended Phoenix and its members are famous for. In battle, she summons 4 ethereal arms that she controls with her mind, which, along with her uncompromisingly powerful and destructive strikes, assault opponents in her melee range with a flurry of blows that hardly leave foes with an opening. They can also be used to block incoming strikes and can be rematerialized if destroyed.

Description: Originally from Dongxia, this man used to be part of an order of warrior monks, leaving the order when he decided that his own personal idea of peace in the world needed a more hands-on approach. One of the three founding members of Ascended Phoenix and the other party involved in the creation of the Projection-style martial arts taught by Ascended Phoenix. He possesses a wealth of practical and theoretical knowledge in regards to different combat styles and martial arts and uses them liberally in battle, utilizing the arms he creates via his own ethereal projections along a style of take-over that focusses on the concentration of chakra energies. The arms all attack with a different martial art, and Zuu himself relentlessly exploits any and all openings his projections afford him via attacks with concentrated light or dark chakra.

Description: Rie is the last and simultaneously the most powerful of the three founding members of Ascended Phoenix, serving as the Guildmaster for the legal guild based in Lavanitir. Not much is known about her apart from the fact that she hails from Midi, and though her past is mysterious and she prefers not to talk about it, her skills, combat prowess, and determined, uncompromising personality speak for her. Some consider her headstrong, but she has the raw skill, talent, and mastery to back it up. Rie is, without a doubt, the strongest member of Ascended Phoenix, and the Guildmaster is a martial artist with few people who could rival her. She combines incredible speed, strength, and endurance into one. There are no fancy tricks, no complicated or esoteric magics. Only raw power define her combat arts, and she is easily capable of destroying even stronger foes with only a flick of her wrist. Whoemever faces her in battle is sure to combat an opponent that will be more than a simple challenge to overcome.
