There came a certain darkness walking down Main Street towards Dragonbane Lane in Magnolia city. The kind of darkness that wore a suit and tie, that kept one hand in his pocket while the other swayed nonchalantly by his side. The sort of shadow that you'd take notice of but then dismiss as something you're seeing out of the corner of your eye. After all how could it be anything more than that when passers by who took notice of this looked and found only an ordinary looking man passing by them? A well dressed man for sure, but nothing extraordinary necessarily. Quite a bit of a swagger in his step and a confidently look on his face, but he certainly didn't look like any number of the well known and eccentric wizards that called Magnolia home.

Yet as he turned down Dragonbane Lane, some just might think to themselves "is he headed to the guild?" before going about their business, putting the man out of mind and certainly not connecting him to the ephemeral feeling of dark that washed over them for a moment. Said well dressed man would head right for the guild hall of the famous, some would say infamous even, independent guild and stand outside for a moment, looking up at the neogothic architecture that made up the castle like exterior. Taking it in so to speak. Sizing it up. The guild insignia shined brightly in the sun with the various metal letters that advertised this as the one and only Fairy Tail. There was no mistaking it.

The journey had been long for him, but now the well dressed shadow had made it. He stood outside the gate for what might have been an unusually long time, long enough for a dark cloud to pass overhead and cover him in actual shadow, leaving him to stand menacingly. The cloud would pass just as quickly as it came and as the sun shone down once more, the man standing outside of Fair Tail would walk forward, passing through the gate and heading towards the front doors. No use in dawdling, after all!

As the front doors to the Fairy Tail guildhall were thrown open, the sunlight would obscure the man's visage for a few moments as the bright light flooded inwards, casting a long shadow of a man with his arms thrown outward as if to embrace, or perhaps choke, all those inside. Anyone who looked would get that same momentary feeling of something dark and sinister, menacing even, looking in on them, perhaps setting them on edge or putting their guard up as a natural response to such a feeling, only for it to pass as the source of the shadow stepped forward into the hall and quietly shut the doors behind him, revealing naught but an ordinary man, any trace of a fiendish aura gone!

Giuseppe stood wearing a black suit with dark grey, thin vertical stripes, a light blue dress shirt and a dark blue tie, shined black leather shoes and long blond hair combed back neatly and a friendly smile on his face! Aside from the niceness of his clothes, there was nothing especially stand out about him, though. Looking around at those present in the hall, Giuseppe would raise his hand and wave before speaking. "Good day! Pardon the intrusion, but this is the Fair Tail guildhall, is it not? I hope it's not too terribu for me to be so forward, but I was wanting to join a wizard guild and I've heard tell this one is quite flexibu, and so I was wondering if this one was accepting new applicants, perhaps...?"

Hm. Well that was a bit of a funny accent, wasn't it? A speech impediment maybe? Regardless he spoke so clearly and confidently, if not somewhat hesitantly because of his sudden entrance, it came off more as charming than fumbling. And he had said he was interested in joining the guild! Just who was going to approach and give this new fellow an introduction to what Fairy Tail was like?

The well-dressed blonde would soon be answered, but not with verbal words at first. No, no, no, this was his first time entering the hall of Fairy Tail, and such an accomplishment was to be toasted! On the left side of the entrance hallway leading to the lounge was a smooth, state-of-the-art bar recently renovated along with the rest of the guild hall, stocked with cold and warm drinks for all visitors to quench their thirst with. One such drink – a juicy strawberry smoothie to welcome in the airs of spring break – was being shaken ready by a tanned gentleman on the other side of the desk, his hair chestnut-brown and combed back strongly to emphasize its glow.

“No, no, it’s alright, my good sir! Many walk through these doors to enter the guild’s ranks… I believe this is your first time here? Then this drink is on the house,” Adam, the name behind the bartender, spoke to the blonde sir with the funny accent and plonked down a glass cup filled with a freshly made strawberry smoothie, accompanied by a pink straw shaped as the symbol hanging above the gate.

“Welcome to Fairy Tail! The Guildmaster or one of the Aces will likely show up very soon, so enjoy your drink.”

Giuseppe turned his head to his left as the brown-haired wizard spoke up and, for a brief instant, there was a glint of something mischievous in his eyes that went away just as quickly. He watched the tanned man making the drink and listened to him speak, taking notice of the Fairy Tail insignia stamped on his face of all places. How bold! How telling...

"Ah, much appreciated!" he answered, turning fully and walking over towards the bar. As he approached the very pink drink he looked it over as if inspecting a piece of merchandise - sizing it up almost - before reaching down and picking it up. "How charming!" he remarked, regarding the straw. "Thank you! I hope I won't have to pay for them in the future, though," he stated plainly before taking a sip through the straw, the thick smoothie taking a couple of seconds to reach his mouth because of the straw. He let out an appreciative groan at the flavor!

"I appreciate the welcome. Tell me, who are you though, fellow wizard?" he asked innocently. What harm could come from giving someone your name, after all?

The Devil You Know Empty Re: The Devil You Know

Post by Mura Kensho 14th April 2022, 1:43 pm

”The name’s Adam. I’m the local bartender and frequently earn a living here in Fairy Tail’s hall,” the tanned persona stated, “If you’re looking for the Guildmaster, I think he’s upstairs. He hasn’t been out on a mission today. Strange…” Mura also had written duties to sign and read through stuff in his office, and after the renovation of the guild hall, he’d spent quite some more time in his cozy corners just reading. It was telling that his hunt in Desierto with Akemi gave him quite a stronger appreciation for the art of bibliotheca.

Still, Giuseppe would wait a solid moment… and then the gate was smacked open in confusion. “Any Fairy Tail Mages free right now?! Some random creature is running amok outside!” the voice of a young teenager roared in fright, “C-Came out of nowhere, like it just teleported here! I swear, if it’s one of your Summoning Spells, guys…!”

    *CRASH!*

The sound of a window smashed to shards could be heard upstairs. That was when some people around the bar exhaled in relief, knowing exactly who moved out of his office to address the issue. A handful of people did also approach the gate opening to look out and see the Guildmaster in action, while Adam looked out from the bar and then glared at the blonde gentleman: “The one you’re looking for is outside now. Go talk with him after the issue’s dealt with, y’know, before he gets distracted again.”

    The Devil You Know IdysXNv

If Giuseppe took the advice and walked out of the hall’s entrance, he’d spot a purplish beast, a lion-like demon with quills for a mane, a scaly composition and the evil omen of a sting from a scorpion. It slowly approached its foe on its four paws, the foe being a swordsman in an orange haori carrying a katana with a bone handle carved as a dragon’s neck and face. The beast in front of him wavered not and sealed its face with a single, electric leap towards the swordsman… and its head suddenly fell off its head, rolling across the street from the force of a sudden vortex kicking up around it.

    Kyuken-Ryū, Ato-Ren... Karura!

The vortex was like a small gust circling around the beast that died down quickly, turning people’s fearful faces into those of gallant gratitude and praises. The blade was sheathed and Mura walked back towards the guild hall where he’d immediately notice the new face. Fairy Tail was a place of familiar faces, and the Guildmaster could tell a newcomer from the rest quite rapidly.

"Mm!" Giuseppe grunted through another sip of his smoothie as Adam introduced himself. "Faust," he answered in kind before replacing his lips on the straw. This smoothie was very refreshing! The blond's gaze turned upwards towards the upper floors of the guildhall as he continued to sip at his drink. "Hmmm..." he mused.

That's when the doors burst open, causing the well dressed man to turn around and face the teenager standing there rambling about a creature of some sort. "Mm?" was the only reply he gave, almost immediately deciding that he wasn't going to get involved. He wasn't very suited for combat with beasts after all, and he just got there so it wasn't as if he knew of any wizard whose magic he could, uh, 'appropriate' with one of his contracts temporarily so that he could lend a hand. No, he'd leave this to others to deal with.

Plus, it wasn't like people seemed to be worried about this. The sound of shattering glass was like a lullaby around here apparently as most in the hall seemed to relax to Giuseppe's eyes. Adam glared at him, though, for some reason, maybe because he didn't look like he was about to jump into the fray? He could only speculate. "Mhm?" he said through his straw, back tracking towards the door and looking out to see the large chimera demon facing off against that fellow in orange. It was alarming, to be sure, how does a demon like this just appear out of nowhere like the kid said after all? It raised a lot of questions, but none that could be mulled over in the moment, for almost as soon as the beast arrived, it was gone.

Felled by the guildmaster in a single strike, any fear that might have remained in the hall behind him seemed to die down quickly, leaving Giuseppe face to face with the guildmaster of Fairy Tail. Impressive was putting it lightly, but his face and posture wouldn't exactly advertise that he felt that way. He stood slurping loudly on his smoothie as the master of Fairy Tail addressed him, pulling the straw away from his lips in order to speak properly.

"All is well, you seemed to have no issues dealing with... that thing, whatever it was. Adam is indeed quite capabu at making drinks, I'm enjoying this very much! My name is Faust, and you must be the guildmaster, yes?" he inquired after introducing himself.

    "Mura!”

Gods damn this brat. There were a lot of things that Vandrad was in charge of when it came to Fairy Tail’s responsibilities but janitorial was not one of them. He was certainly responsible for issuing commands to the janitors but that was part of a rundown of commands he delivered every single day. His former title had been expanded upon, the more he showcased how dedicated and reliable he was. Now as the general manager of the entire guild and corporation, it fell to him to maintain the day-to-day, while still managing his own workout routines and training. It was a lot to put on the shoulders of one man but Vandrad appreciated the work; it provided him a reprieve from the utter calamity that was the world’s political situation.

But it was not helped that Mura was still a showboat and it only took the rush of sound and broken glass for the former prince to know that it was the guildmaster causing a ruckus. Grumbling as he rose from his desk, the armor-clad Ace quickly made his way down the stairs from the executive wing and into the main hall of the guild. The whisperings and general gesturing towards the doors provided all the clues he needed to where the guildmaster was located. There he could see Mura deliver the killing blow on a strange creature, divorcing its head from its neck and letting its body fall uselessly to the ground. With the enemy slain, the guildmaster simply… walked away from it, even as the crowd gathered gave him a cheer.

Vandrad was not cheering. "Must you make a mess right outside our doorstep, Mura?” the Ace grumbled as he walked by the guildmaster, barely paying attention to him or the man he was addressing. He made his way outside, grabbed the creature by its curled tail and then, with a mighty heave that seemed to show no exertion, he threw the creature into the sky. A ball of magic appeared in his hand and he tossed it up in chase of the carcass. The following explosion vaporized the creature’s body in a lightshow of magical effect and sound. As the crowd, once again, cheered and celebrated, the former prince scoffed as he walked over to the head on the street and vaporized it with minimal destructive power.

That all set, Vandrad returned to the guildhall, now finally paying far more attention. It seemed that Mura had encountered a new face, or at least new to the guildhall. Perhaps it was someone seeking information outside of the guild’s walls or even a new recruit. Either way, the sight of a newbie wasn’t going to keep the Ace from walking up to the guildmaster with a look of annoyance. "I’ll call the janitors and have them do a clean sweep of the front. Next time, why don’t you take your battle where it won’t impose on Magnolia?”

The Devil You Know Empty Re: The Devil You Know

Post by Mura Kensho 15th April 2022, 9:29 am

Mura was happy to hear that from this Faust guy. As long as no one was hurt, everything seemed just under control for him. It had been quite hectic with the intensifying atmosphere outside of Fiore’s borders lately, but reassuring the citizens of Magnolia Town that Fairy Tail was ready and willing to beat back any foe and fiend heading their way meant a lot to the Guildmaster. It installed peace in their hearts and strengthened the bond between the guild and its neighbors.

However, his face turned into pure dots at the sight of Vandrad, who did not look so happy about the scene that Mura caused – especially since it cost a window. With the first part of his phrase being fast, sped up by worry, Mura protested: “It was an impu-…. i-impulse?” Vandrad merely walked past him and decided to rid of the body himself, even before Mura got the idea of just burning it away… but hey, the citizens also saw Fairy Tail’s Executive Ace in action now, so… maybe it was all fi-

N-No, nope, nevermind, Vandrad still looked grumpy. True, maybe Mura could’ve avoided breaking the window, b-but the creature being fought here and all was a bit too abrupt to have been changed. “I-I think, yeah, I could’ve avoided breaking a window, but the beast came out of nowhere… did someone summon it?” the shaman asked with a frowned eyebrow, wondering if there was a chance for a second volatile beast to spawn all of a sudden. Really, where did it come from?

Despite its size, though, it was easy to deal with. Whoever tried to attack Magnolia Town with that level of summons was walking way too far from their comfort zone. No, it couldn’t have been summoned by a mage… it would’ve definitely been stronger. And it showed no magical signature linked to someone else, which was a trait shared by summoners.

“Why are they always coming out of nowhere?! First vampires, now giant lion crocodiles…!”

    The Devil You Know 4cBNTSL

That wasn’t Mura’s voice; it came from the samurai ghost who accompanied him. “Shall I take a look around town?” “No, no, I got it covered,” Mura assured the spirit before clapping his hands. Some bundle of pebble nearby began rising up and emitted purple flames before taking the forms of humanoid spirits that began flying out through the many streets of Magnolia – while Mura himself was faster, it was great to have many eyes looking at the same time.

“… No signs of any portal or anything. Hey, Faust… you don’t happen to have recognized that creature from anywhere, do you?” Mura was smiling dryly as if trying to pass his statement up as a joke, especially since he’d rather know more about Faust and what the man could bring to the table – was he able to defend himself, was he able to carry out Fairy Tail’s high-level standards when coming to the quests that they’re handed, and not least; was he able to integrate himself into Vandrad’s training hours…

But something felt off… or maybe it was just a hunch. Mura’s hunches were never on point, really.

Post by Golnax 15th April 2022, 10:37 am

Giuseppe's attention was, once again, pulled away from what he was currently engaged in as a short, black-haired man came shouting from upstairs. The blond man looked the other up and down and initially took his loud voice to be as a result of some sort of Napoleon complex, given he was over half a foot shorter than he was, but this was quickly dissuaded as the exchange between this man with gravity defying hair and the guildmaster. If one didn't know better, which he almost was were it not for the grace of Adam pointing out that the master of Fairy Tail had been the one outside dispatching the monster, he would have assumed their roles were reversed! If nothing else, Giuseppe had a hunch that the shorter man, even shorter than the guildmaster, wore the pants in their relationship, so to speak.

This was further compounded by the display of power that said short individual performed, flat out dead lifting the decapitated corpse of the monster and throwing it into the air - which initially made Giuseppe wondered if the member of the guild didn't care if it fell down on someone's house or not - before sending a spell up into the air to presumably do the same thing that happened to the head a moment later. 'The guild's not short on powerful fighters, it seems...' he thought to himself. As he watched this, the exchange between member and master, Giuseppe felt it only appropriate to close his mouth around the straw of his smoothie. Best not to risk saying anything stupid when someone so powerful and so grumpy was around.

Loudly would he slurp as the guildmaster continued to show off his prowess, conversing with... uh... someone? Something? Look around as he might, Giuseppe couldn't pin point the face that could go with the voice he heard! Strange, or at least it would be if he wasn't surrounded by wizards. That voice could have been the result of any number of things. The purple flaming humanoids made out of pebbles were quite impressive, though. The taller wizard could see himself getting a lot of use out of a magic like that! He had to agree with the guildmaster - it was never a bad idea to have more eyes and ears to gather information for you.

As the master of Fairy Tail addressed him again, Giuseppe popped the straw out of his mouth with an audible 'pop' before licking his lips and answering. "Aside from myths, no. Looked to be a chimera to my eyes, but I don't know anyone that could drop such a beast out of thin air like that. I certainly couldn't, not my magical forte," he replied nonchalantly. The accusation hadn't been direct, or even blatant, but Giuseppe was a shrewd fellow: he could put two and two together and recognize when someone was asking him if he was responsible for some sort of misdeed that had just taken place.

After all, he was responsible for them often enough that such accusations usually were fitting to point in his direction! It was just a happy twist of fate that, this time, it wasn't on him. The demon's appearance was just as much of a mystery to him as it was to everyone else present. "So, uh, I haven't caught your name or anyone else's..." Giuseppe said, pointing out the lack of introductions that had gone around just yet. This whole exchange had been very informal thus far, but still, he'd honestly expected a big more structure than this when he got up this morning. Was this how every day was going to be in Fairy Tail?

    MY STORY IS JUST BEGINNING
"You guys are so looooud!" Came a whiny voice form the back of the guild hall, Fairy Tail's very own beloved childish mage would stumble out from a mid day nap. She appeared rather disheveled; the appearance of somebody who had been awoken from a mid day nap. The young kitsune's tails were poofed up, with one of them carrying some of her orange tail fur matted from her drool, likely used as a pillow of some kind. The youth let out a soft yawn while beginning to stretch her arms to begin to awake fully. "I spent all night helping the staff clean the guild hall and you keep making noise!" she huffed while stepping outside in her usual miko garb, the child's gaze quickly booked it towards that familiar voice outside as her fox like ears twitched. The restless expression soon turned into upmost joy, launching herself towards the chimera slayer in question. She bounced back and forth at blinding speed, launching herself at Mura while her tails swayed in all direction. "That was super cool, Guildmaster, sir!" the child said in an adoring fan kind of way. She very clearly was somebody who was fawning over the dark haired boy, very quickly forgetting about the massive beast beneath them both. After a minute of just fangirling over Mura, she'd snap out of her daze to notice the newcomer to the environment.

"Oh, a newbie!" Kumiko asked, smiling genuinely at the massively muscular man. "Welcome to Fairy Tail! It's super cool around here, and you seem like you'll fit in! It's nice to meet you!" The child then spun around to face Vandrad with another plucky youthful smile. "You too! I don't think I've met you yet either! Nice to meet you!~"

Mura was sufficiently shaken by his moment being quite literally ripped out from under him. Vandrad was not one to mince words or hold back his true and honest thoughts, even from the guildmaster. He had respect for the man that had led Fairy Tail for years and his strength was worth noting but there was still the fact that Mura was, for the most part, still pretty immature. Even with his new growth spurt and matured features, he relatively jumped to acting first before thinking. Then again, Vandrad had plenty of that from both family and allies.

Mura admitted he could have prevented damage to the building but he had been forced to react when the creature attacked out of nowhere. He wondered if someone had summoned it; a curious question that made Vandrad’s eyes narrow just a bit more. So it wasn’t something that Mura himself had brought into the world or transported from some job he had been partaking in. The former prince crossed his arms over his chest. "We have magical protections to prevent such an act within the hall, after what that damned dark guild did to Magnolia. How in the hell did something get in?” Unsurprisingly, Kyuken decided to speak up then, offering his services. Vandrad’s eyes snapped to the spirit briefly but chose not to speak, seeing no point in carrying on a conversation with the samurai after Mura dismissed his suggestion and enacted his own spell to seek out the culprit.

It was hardly the fastest method but it would cover a wider range. Mura turned his attention to the newbie; a blond man named Faust who seemed to have quite the fixation on sipping from the straw of his drink. The guildmaster asked the man if he had any idea about the monster appearing, a thinly veiled inquiry that didn’t carry the tone of an interrogation but was pointed nonetheless. To his credit, Faust denied any involvement, admitting he’d only heard of such things. He’d have been a fool to own up to it, unless he was a powerful wizard that had come to start a fight and given his stance and composure, that didn’t seem to be the case.

Before Vandrad could properly introduce himself, a high-pitched whine of a child echoed out from the back of the guild. Kumiko, one of the other guild members that Vandrad had only seen records of, complained about the noise they had been making that had woken her. After finding her energy, she bounced around Mura excitedly, praising him not unlike a fan would. After collecting herself, she turned to Faust and welcomed him with a warm, bubbly energy one might expect from a more innocent guild. Then she turned to Vandrad and spoke to him with general obviousness as well, stating that she’d never met him before. "Vandrad. I’m the Executive Ace of Fairy Tail,” he properly introduced himself to both Kumiko and Faust. Frankly, it was a bit refreshing to have someone look at him in mystery rather than familiarity; he’d gotten far more of the latter. "The one making the mess is Mura Kensho, the guildmaster. And this is Kumiko, if I recall correctly.”

The Devil You Know Empty Re: The Devil You Know

Post by Mura Kensho 21st April 2022, 5:25 am

… Fair enough. Chimera, huh? Those hybrid demons with heads like lions, tails like serpents and wings like… wait, it also had a sting on its tail. That would suit the description for a manticore more, right? Or had he mixed up the two names? Did he now?

Well, if it wasn’t intended by Faust, then it only supported his claim. Still, a random demon like that causing havoc without the slightest sign of a Summoning Spell was just… absurd. It was also new to see a volatile creature attack them on the same day a potential recruit walked into the hall of Fairy Tail – usually, monsters would attack after the initiations, but the world kept growing more and more unpredictable.

Speaking of recruits, another one strolled towards them just now; the honey-helmed fox spirit Kumiko brought into the fray a bubbly joy as always. It was quite a relief from being scolded at, but at the same time, Mura could not appreciate Kumiko’s admirations in full without feeling the planetary gaze from Vandrad pull his shoulders down to the earth. Lately, Mura… hadn’t been the most rational guy, right? If Kumiko suddenly lost faith in him, then his heart probably wouldn’t be able to hold on anymore.

What an unfortunate existence. Mura’s face was blank, flattened by embarrassment more than awe. “Hehe, w-was it, huh? I’m… glad you’re impressed, Kumi,” he faintly responded to her with a few strokes over her honey-colored hair and vixen ears. He was able to make people happy and joyous over his actions, but he had to tread carefully on his path to this paragon of the town that he desired to uphold – otherwise, he’d end up becoming like… him.

Vandrad made sure to let Faust know their names, so Mura continued: “Let’s head back inside. Kumi, want something to drink?” Kumi had been working a lot, and someone of her small stature surely needed refreshment once in a while… but his care for her also stemmed from the deal with her new Lacrima. That whole ordeal was likely still lingering in the back of her head, so he wanted to ease her burdens and make her look forward in life a bit more.

With that said and done, Mura returned back to the lounge of their guild hall, reminiscing back to the more mundane days when they didn’t have a lounge as awesome as this one where they could relax and enjoy the sight over the fields leading up to the Fairy Hills, their own apartment complex. He pressed a few buttons on the colorful jukebox that they owned, before walking back and letting the sweet, vintage music fill the hall before taking a seat. “Monsters and demons and all in-between, they tend to hold a grudge against us. If you wish to join us, then I do hope that you have combat experience of any kind. Things can get rowdy, as you just witnessed… but first, tell me your story.”

There was a seat next to him where Kumi could enjoy the grape juice that Adam prepared for her at the bar. The paperwork could wait for later – more often than not, better results were granted by having a conversation in more relaxed conditions like in the lounge. Internally, Mura would’ve asked Vandrad to get something to drink as well, but the shaman knew how dedicated his Executive Ace was to his work… almost obsessively so. And it seemed to have kicked up slightly during these last few weeks. Still, Vandrad was ever reliable, and Mura wouldn’t want to devalue his efforts one bit.

The Devil You Know Empty Re: The Devil You Know

Post by Golnax 21st April 2022, 8:31 am

Yet another character of the guild revealed themselves, coming from the back and complaining about how loud that Vandrad and Mura had been. Giuseppe turned and looked to the vulpine-feature-sporting young girl with the same sort of measuring gaze that he'd been giving everyone since he got there. he very quickly got the feeling that she was or was going to be a source of chaos around the guild given how quickly she went from being groggy from sleep to zipping around like it was nobody's job but hers!

Vandrad had the courtesy to introduce not only themselves but everyone else present for him, which he appreciated and took a moment to memorize the names and match them with their respective faces. Much like Yumiko, though, Giuseppe would look to the much shorter man with eyes that had no idea who he was! He'd never heard of Vandrad, let alone know of any sort of royal lineage he may or may not have had. The Executive Ace, no less, seemed very formal and to the point about things though, having swiftly gotten rid of the body of the demon that had been slain by the guildmaster who was currently being fawned over by Yumiko and not waited around for the others to introduce themselves. Giuseppe could respect such a man, he suspected.

As the last of his smoothie was slurped up, Giuseppe pulled his lips away from the straw and turned back to the bar, walking back over there and placing his now empty glass in front of Adam before once more turning away and heading back into the lounge, following behind Mura as he made his way to a juke box and started playing a classic that everyone knew. "Combat experience... yes, I have some of that, but I wouldn't say I'm anywhere near the levu of you or the Executive Ace. I appreciate the martiu arts and practice them myself, but my talents mostly lie elsewhere," he admitted, not shy about the fact that he wasn't so ready and willing to get into a fight if one could be avoided - or subverted, for that matter.

Taking a seat at a near by table, Giuseppe would lean forward in the seat and place his elbows on the tabletop, folding his hands into each other and shrugging. "I don't have much of a story to tell, sadly. I grew up in and around Clover Town. I had a normal, boring life for the majority of it. My magic isn't really suited for combat necessarily, but I used it whenever I could. Finally I decided that a boring, ordinary life wasn't for me and that I needed some adventure! So I sought out the closest guild and, well, here I am!" he finished. It really wasn't much of a story. There were lots of details left missing or outright vague, but nothing he said sounded like a lie. Quite the opposite. His ever word practically oozed truthfulness. It presented a somewhat strange dichotomy of complete genuineness and sketchy evasion. Perhaps he really didn't feel there was much to his life worth mentioning?

As the juke box played it's classic song, Giuseppe's thumbs tapped against each other to the beat.

The Devil You Know Empty Re: The Devil You Know

Post by Kumiko 12th May 2022, 9:28 pm

    MY STORY IS JUST BEGINNING
Kumiko snickered to herself at Vandrad...Hey, wait a minute! She hadn't ever met a Vandrad before! Her head craned over towards the stoic looking guy, maybe with an additional bit of worry and trepidation. Something about him screamed that he was a man that didn't take any kind of pleasantries. Maybe it was every of his angled, pissed off looking eyebrows? Or that wide forehead of his? Was he upset that he couldn't grow hair all over his head? The child kept her bright and hopeful mood, but perhaps took a step or so away from the man. Call it that little instinct in her that didn't want to get on anybody's bad side. Her tails poofed up only slightly but continued her happy little exploration into fangirling over Mura. Speaking of which, she gazed up at the lax guild master of Fairy Tail, eyes closed in glee as she felt his larger hand rustle her honey colored locks of hair. "Well duh! You're like one of the strongest mages ever, right? So a small drake like that wasn't even that hard I bet!~" The child gave a fun little move to Mura, giving the fellow Midian a fun little salute. She stuck her tongue out playfully and would spin around to then flash another wave and smile at the new person to the guild, or another person she had not seen before. Seeing how Vandrad was still new to her despite all this time spent in the guild, either scenario was just as plausible.

Everyone headed back inside, with Mura offering the girl a drink from the Fairy Tail bartender, Adam. At the prospect of a drink while she was thirsty, Kumiko's head nodded up and down at a rate that was comparable as where a dog was shaking its head to get water off of its fur. So super fast! "Sure!~" she chirped, only to watch as Adam would slide her over some grape juice. She pouted at the bartender, having wanted to try and taste some of alcohol over here one day, if not just for how the other members seemed to guzzle it down. So that probably meant that it was delicious and they were just keeping it from her! She'd have to be real stealthy one time and snatch a cup of it for herself later on. But for now, the fox sat beside Mura while sipping on her juice while her tails drooped across the seat. Giuseppe would go on and tell the group about why he had decided to come to Fairy Tail. She was expecting a super cool biography, full of adventure and thrills, but she was a bit let down. Kumiko had wondered what kind of epic backstory Giuseppe had considering all that muscle, but it was a bit less epic and more "mundane man decides to join a guild". It was a pretty noble kind of wish though! One that could definitely be noble! "That's cool though! I was looking for adventure too! But I was searching for my dad to. Adventure is pretty cool though!~"
