Magic
Magic Name: Deal with the Devil
Magic Type: Requip Auxiliary/Holder Auxiliary/Take Over Auxiliary
Description: A simple set of magical skills with a near infinite amount of complexity, Giuseppe developed this magic in order to enable his trickery and manipulation of others. In essence, Giuseppe creates a contract with someone on which is written the terms and conditions of a deal that he strikes up with an individual. Once the terms and conditions are set, Giuseppe only needs a form of commitment from the recipient for the magic to take place. This can be either a written name of an individual on a conjured scroll, a verbal agreement, or the shake of a hand. After the commitment has been made, and only once it has been sealed, the magic takes effect. What sort of magic exactly? That all depends on the contract in question, but can effectively be anything.
Fitting for his fiendish nature, Giuseppe uses Deal with the Devil to make deals with individuals that most often lean towards his favor. Often miring the contract down with exhaustive, redundant, confusing wording that makes figuring out the exact details of what an individual is agreeing to in order to trick people into making deals that are actually bad for them, he often intentionally writes in loopholes and clauses that turn his deals into monkey paw style wishes, using wording to his advantage to make a Deal seem like one thing when in reality it is entirely another.
Despite this extensive, legal-document-esque nature of contract making that he tends to use, this is not strictly how Deal with the Devil has to be used. In it's barest-bone version, a contract need only be an exchange of some service, magical or otherwise, for a stated payment of some sort, sealed by either both Giuseppe and the recipient writing their name on a contract scroll that he conjures up, a verbal promise to fulfil the terms agreed upon, or a handshake. An example of a contract could be as simple as going to the store to pick up an item in exchange for some jewels, or as complicated as magically altering the recipients' memory in exchange for them forgetting a separate set of memories forever. The limits are only what Giuseppe can imagine, and what terms can be realistically set.
To reiterate: Deal with the Devil works by magically binding both Giuseppe and the recipient of a contract with him to a set of terms they both agree upon by way of signing their names on a magical contract, a verbal promise of payment for services rendered, or a formal handshake. These terms and conditions can be nearly anything, as can be the payment that Giuseppe asks for and can be as straight forward or as deceptive as he wants them to be, though he tends to make things intentionally confusing and difficult to understand. A contract scroll can be conjured by way of Requip magic and, once created, the contract itself holds the magic that binds both parties to the terms set by way of Holder magic, the effects of which are implemented and reinforced by a special variation of Take Over magic that mutually affects both Giuseppe and the person he is making a contract with, affecting and binding them to the contract as agreed upon by both parties when applicable. The binding of these contracts is absolute and both Giuseppe and the person he made a Deal with are magically forced to abide by the terms. There is no getting around them so long as the contract exists, and Giuseppe always holds the contracts, destroying them only once the Deal has been completed.
