- Fragment of the Otherworld:
Name:Fragment of the OtherworldRank:WeakType:WandProof of Acquisition:March IOTM 2019Description & Appearance:Wands, at some point in the past, were a major approach to channeling magic. However, nowadays use of such things is just a drop in the various ways of harnessing magic, but once in a while, one may come across a Fragment of the Otherworld. It is a long, thin piece of ash wood, the color darkening to nearly black at its base. The wand could be regarded simply as a relic from the past, but as the name suggests they are not of this world. Instead, the Fragments were crafted in a land called Tír na nÓg, although most may just refer to it as the Otherworld. It was said to be a paradise of everlasting youth and vitality, and the wands are reflections of this.Abilities:Applied Sorcery Wands are innately magical items, and the Fragment is able to apply a variety of charms and enchantments. This allows the user to add such things to any non-magical inanimate object. These may range from allowing items to float in midair, changing their color, and altering their size. There seems to be no limit to how many enchantments may be cast and they last however long the user wishes them to.Enchanted Link The Otherworld is said to be a land full of immortals, all of which are free to enjoy the fruits of their home as they wish. However, due to the wand's connection to such a world, a few properties of it still carry over. And thus the Fragment carries an innate ability to decrease the age of that it is applied to, may it be an object of another person (needs OOC permission for player characters, player-owned NPCs and Event NPCs). This could turn back the clock as few as 2 seconds or as many as 50 years, whatever the user chooses. The effect lasts only for max user normal spell duration before wearing off and allowing the target to return to its original age.
- Invisus:
Name:InvisusRank:Weak ItemType:RingProof of AcquisitionMarch IOTM 2020Description:A man of dubious morals once commissioned a mage specializing in magic item creation for several rings. He never specified what he wanted them for, but it appears he’s given them out at some point over the years. Invisibility is granted to whoever places this ring on their finger, but like all things, there’s a price to be paid. The man altered the rings, corrupting them for reasons unknown. With extended use, the wearer is haunted by a shadowy spirit while going unseen. The spirit slowly encroaches with each passing moment until they can touch the wearer.Should this happen, a purple symbol will appear on the wearer, and once they become visible again, their personality will twist drastically for the worst. Some even become violent, but thankfully the effects are temporary. A small price to pay for a backup escape plan, right?Abilities:Name: Caecus CorrumpereDescription: Giving the ring a twist on the finger will activate the purple stone, igniting ancient runes carved into the band and releasing a dark aura. The user and one other person, should they be touching someone, will slip immediately out of sight. As long as neither person uses even a shred of their magic power, they will remain completely imperceptible to other beings, though not invulnerable. If used for longer than sixty seconds, the shadowy creature only seen while invisible will touch the user and temporarily corrupt their personality. [The user must have OOC permission to use this ability on or against a player character, a player-owned NPC or an Event NPC]
- Dead Man's Chest:
Name:Dead Man’s ChestGrade:WeakType:ItemProof of Acquisition:March IOTM 2021Description:Yar arg, matey! Mystical storage awaits ye!
This magical pirate’s treasure chest won’t weigh anyone who uses it down at all, so no worries about sleepin’ with the fishes! Javy Dones himself made some magical chests and keys so burying treasures and stressing about people hunting it would no longer be an issue, and now those things have found their ways to people of all sorts. Everyone has precious things to protect and a general need to carry all sorts of useful things, right? This bottomless treasure chest is all you need! Too bad he had to die for such useful things to be passed on from his piratey hands ...Abilities:Name: Lock’n’KeyDescription: There are all sorts of ways that the key comes into peoples’ possessions, but once it’s found, brandishing it and pushing it forward as if to unlock something will manifest a personal pirate chest with endless storage. Locking the chest back will cause it to disappear, keeping all precious things safe and sound. You never have to worry about your booty being plundered again! [The user must have OOC permission to use this ability on a player character, a player-owned NPC, or an Event NPC as well as associated magics belonging to those mentioned]
- Fragment of Divine Prophecy:
Name:Fragment of Divine ProphecyGrade:WeakType:ItemProof of Acquisition:March IOTM 2022Description:Each person in this world has had their lives foretold within the Scrolls of Divine Prophecy, every detail regarding it committed to paper by the Divine and stored within its archives as it documented the coming and going of the Worlds. Yet even Divine beings grow weary of their eternal tasks, no matter how much they enjoy doing them; such as happened to the Divine Scripter. In an act of boredom, the Divine tore fragments of the Scrolls and tossed them down into the worlds below for mortals to find, wondering what they would do if they were granted a glimpse at their own lives. Wondering whether these puny beings would live their lives in a different way than it had written if given the chance to change it.Abilities:Name: Alternate DestinyDescription: Once per thread allows the holder of the Fragment to actively defy their apparent destiny by receiving a glimpse of the near future that directly affects or impacts their person in their ongoing thread, so they get the chance to act upon the event before it happens, and thus alter one of their pre-destined outcomes. Eg. If a boulder was ‘destined’ to kill them, the holder would see a glimpse of the incoming boulder hitting them, but not what happens around it, or what caused it to start moving. Thus required OOC permission to use when it involves other Player Characters, Player-controlled NPCs, Events, and cannot be used during Lore Events.
