- Magic Description:
- Originally assuming it was the same as any other basic Fire magic, Terumi initially loathed and shunned it, due to a crisis involving fire in her past. She eventually came to realize, however, that, thanks to her lineage, she had been blessed with a very unique aspect of fire. Grudgingly at first, she embraced it, but having seen its potential, Terumi now wishes to completely master this destructive element. While people see fire as a consumer and destroyer, Terumi tries to see fire more like colored paint. The world is the canvas, and she is the artist. Still, she must be careful not to splash the “paint” about and make such a mess, which is why the young lady finds the concept of “control” to be very important. It is said that Allfire Magic is almost as ancient as magic itself, and was developed by those who had been blessed with the gift of fire magic, but were unwilling to watch their flames only burn and destroy. It is also believed that some benevolent deity taught them this magic, and in the process of training both body and soul to master the power of fire, they became more resistant to heat and other forms of damage. Terumi, for her part, gained access to this magic through a scroll passed down to her from her father, and thanks to her proclivity to fire, the tenets of this magic came very easily to her.
Allfire Magic governs the use of extremely potent flames, capable of burning through most substances with more ease than the average fire, and even igniting on hitherto incombustible material. As if that was not powerful enough, the flames of the Allfire Magic have the ability to burn intangible and incorporeal objects away, including “concepts”, so that at some point, her powers might even resemble reality manipulation. Unlike normal fire, Terumi’s flames no longer require fuel to burn, can continue burning under water or in a vacuum, and can consume anything corporeal or otherwise, regardless of their properties, most of the time. Concepts, ideas, events and circumstances, thoughts, emotions, willpower and memories, spirits, ethernano, energy, shadows... there is practically nothing these flames cannot scorch. As expected, these flames have a high destructive power, even more than regular fire, and come in a myriad of hues (mostly based on her vagaries, though some certain colors have distinct connotations).
Some of the unusual applications of her fire include: burning away injuries, thereby restoring health, stamina, and even lost limbs and organs; pyromancy via the burning away of “the mystery of time” to reveal the past; burning away of “space” to facilitate instant transmission between two points in space; destroying a mage’s source of ethernano; and exorcising dark spirits. She can create solid constructs of flame to serve as a defense of sorts, and can even "burn" away reality enough to bring powerful vassals to this dimension to fight on her behalf. Her powerful affinity to the element permits her to take control of fire sources in her vicinity and empower them or smother them outright, and she can make her flames selective, so that while they rage over a large area, will only harm the things she wants harmed, such as enemies and constructs that need to be destroyed, while leaving her allies and others safe and unscathed. Terumi can also excite the azoth in her blood with her flames to forge a massive humanoid shell over her body.
It is not uncommon for Terumi’s hair to burst into bright, glorious flame while using her magic, and it may retain its mint-green hue, or change to the color of flame currently being utilized (the color change may also affect her eye color). However, once her hair is back to normal, its natural pigment returns. While she may call out the names of her techniques in Midijin or basic Fiorean, there is no effect on the power of her spells, if she forgoes saying anything. As homage to the Deity of the Sun, who blessed her lineage and thus gave her this power, Terumi has a few of her moves named after the Midijin Goddess Amaterasu.
Unique Abilities:
- Empress of Flames: Terumi’s control over fire is godlike, and her applications of this destructive element show as a passive 60% magic damage buff. She can take over fire sources in her burst range (S rank), and manipulate them as she sees fit, or bring flames to life in her vicinity, and she can “flavor” them to enable them burn even things that should not be combustible. Flames generated by characters controlled by other players, as well as important/event NPCs, require OOC permission for her to influence. She also gains a passive 60% buff to physical strength, thanks to the explosive nature of fire.
- Queen of Torches: “The Sun is the king of torches”, so an old saying goes. Terumi is much like a sun herself, being a source of energy that does not require refueling like others. The power that burns within her makes it possible for her to conjure her flames without the use of ethernano, thereby being able to use her magic even in areas that negate the use of conventional magic. This inextinguishable flame manifests as a passive increase to her magic damage potential by 60%. Also, her body is energized by this power, granting her a 60% increase to physical strength.
- Lady of Embers: Terumi's Allfire can burn anything, theoretically. It grants a passive 60% magic damage buff to her, being a force to be reckoned with, and, using her flames as "invisible rocket boosts" when she needs to, she can achieve greater superhuman feats of strength than many people (she enjoys a 60% buff to physical strength), even if her size is not much to show for it.
Power of Amaterasu [Plot Ability]: Terumi’s fire, having the propensity to affect reality, often generates various side effects. Think of it as the thunder that happens after lightning, or the sonic boom effect when an object breaks the sound barrier. However, the reality manipulating effects, as well as the “side effects” do not have any serious import on PvP battles, or where important/event NPCs are concerned, unless OOC permission is obtained from the relevant parties, or they are explicitly stated in a spell. Some of the side effects are reversible with time, while others are permanent. Also, she can protect her allies from her fire, so that no matter how much it burns around them, they are uninjured by the flames.
Nota bene:
- 1 extra Signature spell slot (S rank), 2 extra advanced spell slots (S+ and H+), 3 unranked spell slots and 1 extra H rank spell slot, due to lineage ability “Ancestral Fire”.
- Increased normal spell slot maximums due to lineage ability “Ancestral Fire”.
- Obtained an extra spell slot here.
- Thirteen spell slots obtained from the Holiday Season Raffle. Putting 3 here (so 10 are left).
Thus, in this magic exists a total of 24 spell slots (not counting the advanced spells): 15 normal + 1 H + 1 extra H + 3 unranked + 4 bought/won spells.
