Type:
Item
Proof of Purchase: post #917
Description:
Hundreds of years ago a brave and enterprising thief managed to steal a silver medallion from a dragon hoard without suffering the fate of most who dared to steal from a dragon. The thief found that the medallion he had stolen was imbued with considerable magic power due to it having spent so much time near the dragon that some of the beast's magical power seeped into it. He learned that by extending the medallion outward and thinking about power or protection he could invoke that power to boost his offense or defense to incredible heights. Emboldened by the power at his disposal, the thief began to undertake bolder and bolder heists that resulted in the accumulation of great wealth. However, the thief became too reliant on the medallion to get him out of trouble and one night paid for that mistake when he attempted to steal the crown jewels of a king and ran afoul of the royal guard, who cut off his escape, surrounded him, and stabbed him to death with numerous swords.
While the thief who first owned the medallion may be long dead thanks to his overconfidence, his treasure has survived to the present day by passing from owner to owner until it found its way to the market centuries after it was first discovered. While the Dragon Medallion's owner might never match the full power of a dragon, they can still tap into some of that power for a strong offense or a formidable defense. With this medallion in their possession, the owner has a good chance to live long and prosper. Just be mindful of the fate of the Dragon Medallion's first human owner and do not let the power of a dragon go to one's head!
