A slow, cold breeze brushed past Britney's face. This was the first time that either of them had been to Midi, the first time that they had been out of the country. Now, with them newly christened the Thunder Dragons, with Tony working as the de facto strategist to the team while Kenshi and Britney held down the fort in terms of dealing damage, they had their first proper job. It was, much to Tony's surprise, not a job for the Rune Knights. Rather, Kenshi had gotten a letter from home, saying that there was something strange going on. Tony had looked at the letter, but it was too vague for him to know what was truly going on. But they insisted that he not go alone, though in truth it was mainly at Tony's insistence that the trio had gone off towards the land where Kenshi was from. It seemed only right, what with the previous expedition into the Altaria's own hometown. Of course, that was par for the course within the Rune Knights, with them being from Era, but Tony could already sense that something was off.
The two had just left a port city, making their way on foot towards Kenshi's hometown after the week - long boat trip from Reinford to Midi. Snow had just begun falling on the ground, crunching underneath Tony's heavy boots as he walked. The ground was slowly painted white, the majesty of a winter in Midi certainly something to behold. Even in spite of the dead trees, caked in white, there was a certain majesty towards everything that this country had to offer. At least, that was what Tony thought.
Britney, meanwhile, was simply cold. She had never done well with the cold, at least in comparison to her seemingly always warm older brother. Tony was hardly wrapped up in more than he normally wore, perhaps attributing to it only just being cold enough to snow. Britney had layered herself quite heavily, including having Tony's large overcoat practically serving as a thick dress on her much more petite body. She shuffled through the snow, muttering to herself about this having to happen in the wintertime.
"Are there at least hot springs where you live?" Britney asked, huddling tighter inside of her scarf.
Tony raised an eyebrow. "A valid question. Hot springs were a large part of Midian cities, especially those within the mountains. A flood rushed into Tony's mind, the thoughts of the hot spring he visited in Talonia pouring into his brain-"
"You only remember that because you accidentally walked in on the girls' room while Macey was changing."
Tony's face went a flush red. "N-no! I had a good time enjoying the hot spring!" He coughed, getting back into his character voice. "With the mountains that Kenshi called home, Tony thought it likely that there was a hot spring somewhere within the town, or at the very least a hot bath. He knew that it would be something that his sister would request heavily, the consistent cold that she felt draining on her. She never had done well with the cold, and Tony reminisced on a time where she had tripped and fallen into a large pile of snow that our father had blown away, ready to be-"
Now Britney blushed, sinking further into her scarf. "C-could you not keep telling all of these embarrassing stories?"
Tony gave a coy smile to Britney and a thumbs up before continuing to walk. "So, Kenshi. How long until we're at your hometown? A-and, if you don't mind my asking, do you know what's going on?"
