- Who is Yamadera Terumi?:
- At first glance, she comes off as calm, and a little aloof, but those big eyes make her look more introverted than just apathetic. Closer inspection reveals a scholastic streak that borders on nerdy. In the company of people she doesn’t know, or is not used to, she prefers to study them, and says little unless addressed, or if she feels it is important. So yeah, she is rather shy. An easy way to get her talking excitedly, though, is by bringing up topics related to science and technology. Then, people are usually surprised at how vocal she can get.
While her initial composure might be somewhat detached, Terumi is really warm and friendly underneath. Her otherwise stoic exterior is a shield for her, because she has been exploited by others in the past for being “too nice”, and she believes that the less people are close to her, the fewer the chances of abuse. Still, she is a very considerate soul with a powerful sense of empathy, and she does not ever mind inconveniencing herself for the sake of a friend. She likes hanging out with people close to her heart, and she tends to be more emotional and even klutzy around them, showing a much more passionate side to her persona. Her fervency can also be noticed by the general public when she is motivated, or engaged in something that interests her.
When it comes down to confrontations, Terumi prefers to avoid them when they have little to do with good vs evil. She will generally tend to avoid brash, overbearing people, especially if they are insensitive, and stay out of their way as much as possible, so that they do not annoy her. Terumi does not like being the butt of jokes, and usually becomes much more withdrawn if she finds herself in such a position. However, if she gets cornered or repeatedly picked on, she will fight back with a lot of zest. When standing up to evil or injustice, Terumi does not think twice about stepping up to challenge them.
People often say that this Midijin girl gives off “academic vibes”, and they are not far from the truth. She is an avid scholar, who delights in researching and learning more about science, magic and the world around her. Her most favorite subject is Physics. She is also very dexterous with her hands, and has a penchant for tinkering with technology. Without looking at a manual, she is the kind of person that can easily figure out the function of a device after handling it for a little amount of time. She is a self-proclaimed inventor (yes, she has quite a number of inventions), and she hopes that one day, her inventions will be recognized all over Earthland (and of course, provide her with a steady source of income).
Despite the fact that Terumi seems to be one of the “good guys”, she harbors a dark secret: unknown to most people, she has the blood of giants, or Titans, if you will, coursing through her veins. This, along with her proclivity to fire, makes her predisposed to destruction. Expectedly, she enjoys fighting, but tries as much as she can to never be the aggressor, unless for a good reason. She is afraid of her anger, and thus, tries to avoid things that make her wild with fury, because she can enter a berserk state where it is difficult to distinguish ally from adversary. Wanton disregard of innocent lives, as well as seeing her friends tortured are her most powerful anger triggers.
In battle, Terumi does not like fighting against weaker opponents, as she feels it looks like bullying, and will not want to go all out against them. Still, she also tries as much as possible not to underestimate them, and will often attempt to make the battle short and decisive. Against an equal or stronger opponent, she goes all out, but never willingly aims for a killing blow. She is a capable close-quarter combatant, utilizing a graceful fighting style which she mostly taught herself by borrowing from various disciplines, but has neither named it, or developed any Combat Arts around it. It involves using her magic and gear to augment her physical strikes and maneuvers, and favors acrobatics and kicks. Her style of combat can be described as adaptive, relying on her keen mind to observe the flow of the fight and develop strategies to ensure victory. Regardless, she is not above overwhelming her enemies with sheer force, or pulling off reckless stunts.
With a very strong moral code, Terumi often engages in vigilantism in any area she finds herself, where she feels there is the need. She is all about helping people, and bringing criminals to justice. The lady even has a costume which she dons in such events, and takes on the superhero moniker of “Senka, the Verdant Flame”. It is her dream that Senka would grow in popularity and fame, until she at least attains the position of one of the Ten Wizard Saints. Are there people out there who think that running around in superhero threads is dumb? Yes. Does Terumi care? No. Being one who hopes to become an epitome of heroism, Terumi makes a conscious effort to be informed on who the Wizard Saints and Gods of Ishgar are. Meeting any one of them in the flesh will likely trigger her "fan girl" mode, unless they exhibit some "disappointing" behavior that ill-becomes a champion of their status. Naturally, she will be underwhelmed.
Being a little too critical on herself, Terumi does not like leadership roles, as she has a bit of an inferiority complex, and believes that others are better suited to such tasks. However, if she has no option, or is encouraged by a friend, her analytic mind, zeal and empathy make her quite the good leader (even to her own surprise, most times). Once she puts her mind to it, she actually can exude charisma and inspire people to do what needs to be done. She can be a bit tough on her subordinates when she needs to bring out the best in them, though. As a follower, Terumi is very supportive of her leader, especially when their ideals align with hers. She has no problem fitting into any role given to her, as long as it does not come in conflict with her moral code.
Due to her body giving off a higher level of heat than normal, thanks to an uncanny metabolism, Terumi often complains of feeling hot, and as a result, tends to wear shorter clothes that show off her skin, even when the weather is very cold. For the most part, her passive mien helps her ignore the reactions of most people, but she may become flustered and self-conscious if the attention comes from a good looking member of the opposite sex.
- Tasty Food: Once it’s well prepared and the taste is agreeable, Terumi likes it. She has an enormous appetite, thanks to an insane metabolic rate.
- Tinkering: Machines, gadgets, gizmos... she grew up with them, and she feels at home nose deep in working on inventions or tinkering with technology.
- Romcoms: They make you laugh, cry, and feel that love is such a wonderful thing. What’s there not to like?
- Training: There’s that satisfaction that comes from working through your limits and breaking past records.
- Crime fighting: This is her signature way of contributing to the fight against evil. Besides, flashy outfits stick in people’s memories and improve popularity ratings.
- Vehicles: Especially the fast ones. If it’s a transport system, and it has a name, chances that she knows a lot of trivia about it are very high. She also knows how to drive most of them.
- Fire: Her element. It mesmerizes her, draws her, intrigues her, frightens her. Still, she feels it is like a part of her, and loves it anyway.

- Control: Being a natural born berserker, Terumi knows what she is capable of when she loses control, a concept that clashes with one of her other motivations. As a result, she actively seeks out various ways by which she can be in complete control of her powers and her emotions.

- Her Berserker Rage: Terumi’s wrath is something to be feared, because while it may be short, it is very destructive. She is very frightened of the fact that when her brain flips the “Berserk” switch, there is a high chance that she might destroy or injure innocents during a rage-fueled rampage.
- Pitch Blackness: We don’t mean night. We don’t mean the gloom at the bottom of a deep well. We mean the complete absence of light. The panic becomes worse if Terumi discovers that she is unable to generate any form of light. This is one of the easiest ways for her to experience a nervous meltdown.
- Being abandoned: Terumi harbors a secret fear that her power will either destroy or frighten people away from her, leaving her alone, forlorn, heartbroken and very sad.

- With Midijin blood running in her veins, Terumi stands at a slightly less-than-average height for a woman, but her selling points have nothing to do with her height. First off, how many people come naturally with mint-green hair? This unique color makes her stand out in most places, and her tresses are long, velvety and luxuriant, dropping to the small of her back when left to fall freely. She doesn’t really favor any hair style, choosing them with respect to her mood and clothes, but often opts for practical ponytails when engaged in serious activity, and prefers to have some locks fall over her forehead. She believes that her face would have been more impassive if her eyes were smaller, which is somewhat true, as her large eyes tend to give a “cute” flavor to her facial features. Her irises are a lighter shade of royal purple, but they tend to shift to the color of the flames she wields when she is excited. Hers are soulful eyes that easily carry her emotions across to others, but perhaps because of their unusual color or some other property, many people find her stares to be a bit unnerving. Her nose is small, as is her mouth, and her lips are a natural pink. Her smile has been described as cheerful and beautiful, and her dentition is well shaped and pearly white. Terumi has a slim, dainty build and a shapely body, with a creamy olive complexion that boasts of no blemishes, but while many would think her to be delicate just by looking at her, she is no stranger to rigorous activity. She has a feminine grace that marks her every movement, and her voice is soft and gentle. In fact, on hearing her speak, many come to the conclusion that she is incapable of shouting (she has a very loud voice when she yells, though). She is fluent in both Fioran and Midijin languages.
Being a utilitarian type, Terumi prefers to have an outfit for each occasion. Her normal clothes look like summer wear, regardless of the ambient temperature, thanks to the fact that she often feels hot. She likes jackets, but will almost never button/zip them up totally. When on the field (crime fighting/missions), as Senka, the situation determines her garb, but her preferred color code is now white (thanks to quite a number of people telling her that black is for gritty vigilantes), complemented by some other flashy color, which takes sun or flame-like designs. Her outfits tend to be eye-catching and flashy (and also showing off some skin), reminiscent of a superhero. When she feels like it, she may don a cape or some sort of long, muffler scarf. In her workshop, she wears technician coveralls, though she almost always shrugs out of the upper part and ties the sleeves around her wide hips. She wears a sleeveless crop-top shirt underneath. Home wear is similar to her casual outing clothes, but she almost never wears pants. Shorts and short skirts are her preferred option, and her tops are usually cropped, and short sleeved or sleeveless. She is not really a fan of heavy jewelry, but she always wears a beautiful ruby necklace, hanging from a golden chain, which is usually tucked into her ample bosom.
