    -Hargeon Town-

Having taken care of business in Motor City and having taken custody of the late Dr. Abel's best and greatest creation, a robot with free will named Will, Lucia had been looking for a "real" job so that she could start carrying out the mission of the guild she had recently joined, but the chance to go to a Halloween party was just too good for her to pass up. Getting a "real" job would have to wait until after the festivities. And since it was a Halloween party, Lucia naturally showed up in costume.

Dressed in a blue jacket, white sleeveless shirt under the jacket, a blue necktie, black pencil skirt with another skirt on underneath it, and boots that looked like the rudders of a ship, Lucia also carried a toy rifle and a case for the rifle that resembled the deck of a type of ship called an aircraft carrier. Lucia had looked for a costume for the party and found out that she resembled a character from an anime named Fighting Ship Collection who was an aircraft carrier personified as a young woman. Deciding to take advantage of that resemblance because she did not want to dress in a "traditional" Halloween costume, Lucia bought all the costume components she could get and when she got to the party she looked like an anthropomorphic version of the old warship named "Hornet."

Lucia silently thanked David Mitchell for telling her about the anime named Fighting Ship Collection a few days ago because looking it up for costume ideas had saved her a lot of hassle trying to find just the right costume. As she walked deeper into Hargeon Town she blended right in with the other costumed party-goers. A few of them were giving her looks, probably because no one else looked like a warship in human form. Or maybe it was because her toy rifle case took up a lot of space as she walked.

Speaking of costumes, as Lucia walked deeper into town she saw people of all ages dressed in both "classic" Halloween costumes and costumes from other media. She looked around and read signs announcing a costume contest slated for later this evening. That might be an activity worth looking into if she did not find anything else that caught her interest.

Lucia did her best to avoid hitting anyone with her costume prop as she followed sandwich board signs pointing the way to a "Halloween Punch Sampling" booth with the text written in alternating orange and black letters. As she followed the signs she realized that she was walking along the side of the city that was home to the harbor. Eventually she reached the booth, which was manned by an older man dressed as the old movie version of Dracula down to the last detail. He had the plastic fangs, the hairstyle, the cape, the clothing, even the proper medallion.

Lucia took the offered cup of punch, thanked the vendor, and drank from the clear plastic cup. The punch had a mild and sweet blueberry taste that was pleasant but not too sugary for her liking. Her enjoyment of the beverage was interrupted by a realization that gradually dawned on her the more she looked around.

Her vision had turned completely blue!

Lucia looked around her and everything was a light shade of blue. People, the vendor's booth, the road in front of her, the buildings, everything. This was an unexpected development, but it was not an insurmountable challenge. She would just have to be careful while walking, that was all.

Carefully walking over to the trash can located a convenient distance from the punch stand, Lucia threw her empty punch cup into the trash can and slowly made her way back onto the path that led deeper into Hargeon Town, being careful not to accidentally walk into anyone or hit them with the toy rifle case slung on her right shoulder. She was going to look for another activity to do because despite the sudden change in her vision she was still ready to party. It would take a lot more than that to make Lucia leave before she was ready to go.

Halloween In Hargeon Town Empty Re: Halloween In Hargeon Town

Post by Lucia Winchester 23rd November 2021, 10:59 pm

While walking along the path next to the harbor Lucia saw signs for a "Trick-Or-Treat Street" activity. Curious as to what that activity involved, Lucia followed the signs shaped like plastic buckets of candy until she came across a stand positioned just outside a particularly nice neighborhood. The stand was occupied by an older woman with waist-length white hair dressed as a typical "old librarian" down to the thick black-rimmed glasses and she was handing out plastic buckets to anyone who walked up to the stand. Age was no issue because adults received them in addition to children and teenagers.

Figuring that she had nothing to lose, Lucia got in line for a plastic bucket and when her turn came was handed a light blue one with a smiling jack-o-lantern face that perfectly matched the color she was seeing the world in. Whether that was a cosmic joke at her expense or just a coincidence was up in the air, but she was not going to question it. Blue was her favorite color and she had lucked out. The old woman smiled at Lucia as the latter walked towards the neighborhood where "Trick-Or-Treat Street" was taking place.

    -On Trick-Or-Treat Street-

Clutching her light blue candy bucket in her right hand as she walked through the neighborhood, Lucia could not help but to notice how clean and well-lit it was. While some would argue that the neighborhood had been cleaned up for this occasion to make a good impression on visitors, Lucia believed that she was in the "good" part of Hargeon Town and the neighborhood was always this clean. The immaculately groomed lawns in front of each house and clean street served as evidence of that belief.

Lucia waited until the group ahead of her visited the first house on the right, then once they had received their candy she walked down the clean path to the front door, which was decorated with a smiling paper jack-o-lantern hanging on the door. Lucia walked up to it, knocked, and waited until the door was answered before she spoke.

"Trick Or Treat!" Lucia called out. The older man who had answered the door, who was dressed like a university professor in a gray sweater vest, khaki dress pants, and brown dress shoes, smiled and dropped four fun-size pieces of candy into her bucket.

"Happy Halloween, young lady!" he bade her before shutting the door. Lucia turned around and walked back down the path to get back onto the street that led to other houses. But first she walked to the house across the street, which was decorated with a smiling jack-o-lantern sitting to the right of the front door plus a quartet of skeletons sitting at a card table holding playing cards positioned on the front lawn.

Lucia walked up to the door and knocked on it. A middle-aged woman dressed as a fairy godmother with a star-tipped wand in her right hand and a golden tiara on her head answered the door.

"Trick Or Treat!" Lucia said to her. The woman looked at Lucia's costume and smiled.

"Oh, you're dressed as one of those girls who look like old warships, huh? My grandson's a big fan of that ann-uh-may show that young people like these days!" The woman said to her. She dropped five fun-size bags of candy into Lucia's bucket.

"Have a good Halloween!" The woman bade her before shutting the door. Lucia turned around and walked back onto the street, then turned right to begin her trip down the entirety of Trick-Or-Treat Street. So far Lucia was having quite a bit of fun with this activity... the candy was just a bonus, but it was a welcome bonus.

-On Trick-Or-Treat Street, thirty-five minutes later-

Having visited the last house in the neighborhood and received her candy, Lucia made sure that she was well away from the door before checking her bucket to see how much candy she had gotten from the neighborhood.

She peered inside her bucket and found that it was a little over halfway full of candy. She had gotten mostly mid-grade chocolate candy with a few fun-size packs of a fruit-flavored candy with a sugary outer shell... it was not the best candy she could get, but it was good enough to get a decent sugar rush from. She had collected enough of it to get a good sugar rush going if she wanted to, but she would do that later. Right now she wanted to find another activity to do.

Lucia was not sure whether she should give that costume contest a try or find something else to do. She would make a decision in a few minutes. Besides, there was still plenty of time left before the party ended, so there was no real need to hurry and make a choice right this instant.

Halloween In Hargeon Town Empty Re: Halloween In Hargeon Town

Post by Lucia Winchester 26th November 2021, 2:33 am

After completing the Trick-Or-Treat Street activity Lucia briefly considered entering the costume contest just to give it a shot. After seeing the amount of people signing up to be contestants the blonde had a change of heart and backed out. She was going to seek another activity, something that did not involve being in front of so many people.

Lucia meandered around Hargeon Town in search of something else to do when she eventually came across a tent, but it was not just any plain tent. It was a lavish one made of a black cloth that prevented any light from getting in and prevented anyone from seeing into it until they entered its confines. On the flap of the tent was a silver eye design of an unblinking eye placed inside a circle that was reminiscent of a magnifying glass without the handle. The design appeared to be sizing up anyone who approached it.

Curious as to what sort of tent she was facing, Lucia read a white sandwich board sign positioned to the right of the path and learned that it was a fortune teller's tent. Lucia looked at it and noticed that no one was approaching it, so she assumed that there was no line for the fortune teller. Deciding to give it a shot since she had nothing else she really wanted to do, Lucia walked up the path to the tent while looking at the eye design. Once she reached it she opened the tent flap and walked inside.

    -Inside the fortune teller's tent-

Lucia found the inside of the tent to not have much in the way of decoration save for the same elaborate silver eye design that was on the tent flap on the wall directly behind the fortune teller. The fortune teller was a young and slender black-haired woman with pale white skin. She had bright green eyes, wore light blue robes, and she was seated at a small square table covered with a purple cloth featuring a simple gold border along the bottom.

The border was a thick gold line as wide as Lucia's thumb. On top of the cloth sat a crystal ball the size of a human head perched on a silver pedestal. On each side of the table was a tall silver candlestick holding a light blue candle that burned with a light blue flame. Lucia wondered why light blue was a prominent color tonight but quickly dismissed the thought. She had been through stranger occurrences.

The fortune teller's eyes met Lucia's.

"Welcome. I see that you are interested in getting your fortune read." She greeted Lucia.

    "Yes." Lucia answered laconically.

"Sit and I will show you a small portion of your future." The fortune teller bade her. Lucia walked over to the seat in front of the fortune teller and sat down in it. Without further ado the fortune teller put her hands over the crystal ball and the flames of the candles weakened until they were barely lit. The room turned mostly dark except for two tiny spots of pale blue light.

"You have searched for one of your family for some time, but soon your search for them will be over." She informed Lucia as the crystal ball began to glow silver.

"They are still among the living, so you are still in time to find them. Look in the city for them. I cannot tell you which one because that is beyond my ability to see." The fortune teller told Lucia before the flames of the candles returned to their normal size and the pale blue light lit the inside of the tent once more. The crystal ball stopped glowing silver and returned to normal.

The hint of "look in the city" was really vague, but it was better than nothing. It hinted that Diana could be found in one of the cities, but Lucia would have to do the legwork to determine which city she could find her sister in.

With the reading now over, Lucia got up from the table and pushed her chair back in.

"Thank you for the reading." Lucia thanked the fortune teller despite the ambiguous nature of the fortune.

"You are welcome." The fortune teller replied calmly. With that Lucia turned around and made for the tent exit. She was going to walk around the party a little while longer before leaving Hargeon Town and heading for home.

Lucia has earned one Candy Corn Kernel from the Fortune Telling activity.
