An auspicious day cast itself over the villages at the foot of Mount Hakobe, the absolute terrifoty of Errings Rising. This place was unquestionably the playground of a  guild of people who could only really be described as power-hungry, bloodthirsty and willing to do whatever it took to establish and maintain their dominance over the region. This was their turf and any attempts to muscle in on that turf would be met with two things: overwhelming firepower and a message: never, ever attempt something so heinously idiotic ever again in the future. If you survived the first wave, anyway. This sort of show of force was a necessary evil for the guild. They had a lot of exceptionally powerful enemies and very few allies to count amongst their lot; they had to ensure that what holdings they had stayed that way.

When rumours of a brothel operating outside the confines of the guild's rule had reached the castle, an immediate strike team had been assembled in order to deal with the problem, permanently. If that required true overwhelming force, then such force had been authorised. There was no time to hold back. Truth told, it wasn't exactly much of a 'strike team'. It was two people: one brand-new member, and one far more experienced and powerful member. This was deemed sufficient in order to handle the issue, which Riana had some mild concerns about when she had heard that she was the inexperienced one. The word that had reached her ear was that her ersatz partner was a child. How could a child maintain a cover profile in a brothel? They would not be allowed entry, to say the least. She had to find a way to get this child-- first name Killua-- into the compound, before anything else. For her part, the plan was simple: she could enter seemingly unarmed. As a woman, this was a valuable skill, one she intended to ply as much as she could, for they would not suspect a single woman entering a brothel too much. Perhaps she was looking for some companionship, or even some work, depending on the angle that they wished to play.

Too many options crossed her mind.

Such being the case, Riana had chosen an inconspicuous place to meet with Killua in the village itself. There was a town square that saw just enough traffic that she could put herself in a good place to prevent them being overheard. A water fountain made of stone sprung up in the middle of the square, which generated enough background noise that they could blend into that sound if they so wished. That would allow them to speak freely about their objective, especially if the brothel had roaming agents operating freely in town to both gather intelligence and promote their business. This was a distinct possibility.

Adjusting her knee-high boots, Riana made herself comfortable sitting on the edge of the fountain. For all intents and purposes, the red-headed woman looked like a civilian that had little more to do with the guild than every other passerby here. That would play to their advantage. Hopefully, Killua would not be too far behind, and their little mission could begin.

Post by Killua 16th October 2021, 8:47 am

Killua sighed as he walked towards one of the villages at the foot of Hakobe, who in their right mind would open a brothel here, well there was still the chance that they didn't know that it was under the nose of a dark guild that cared little for consequence, especially in something that would be considered their territory, rather it was their territory. So as usual someone had to deal with it and that was him and some other guild member named Riana. Their job was fairly simple, all they had to do was remove any and all of the associated with running the brothel and any other businesses associated with it.

Kil himself was wearing his usual jacket to keep him from the cold and combat pants without the knee protectors so he would blend in a bit easier. He was already at the gates of the village it was still cold, but the weather was proving to be favorable, as there were streaks of water rather than ice everywhere, there was still a bit more time until the winter season came fully and everything around the foot of the mountain turned to snow and ice.

Supposedly there was more to it from some local rumors but until they were inside to confirm anything more than what it looked like and like what it was confirmed to be. However first things first he would need to find his partner for the job at hand. Entering the village he headed deeper towards the center of the village. He had a vague idea of how she looked like and he hoped that she would be in the village before him.

Reaching the central part of the village, he looked around, taking in the bustling gravel road, or as bustling as it could be for a small village. It wasn't like the capital and for sure that was a plus, he preferred it like this. He was brought out of his musings as he spotted a single red-haired woman sitting by the running water fountain.

The young dark mage didn't waste much time approaching her as she fitted the description he was given. "I presume that your Riana? It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Killua." Extending a hand in the process. "I guess we'll be partners for the current job, mind if I sit?" He asked, and he would take the seat next to her if she didn't mind it.

"So, how are you on this good day, I also hope that I didn't make you wait long for me here, haha.. Ready to whoop some idiots. Honestly who decides that it's a good idea to open up a brothel here." He laughed a little at the last part, still finding it quite amusing, they were really a bunch of idiots..

"Anyways, to give you a heads up on what I can do, I use Thunder God Slaying magic and Requip where I keep a lot of my guns and some explosives." It usually wasn't such a good idea to give out information like this in open fields and nothing was privy to be unheard, but the fountain was proving to be quite a good muffler and Kil himself was being alerted if anyone was listening in on their little conversation.

As Killua approached, Riana took a moment to examine the person she knew she'd be working with; he certainly seemed young, and his age was going to be problematic after all. There was a certain moment where she'd hoped that he might look like a more mature sixteen, but that did not appear to be a plausible approach to handling the problem before them. She'd have to devise a secondary approach to navigating the brothel and getting Killua access to the building in order to have the firepower necessary for handling the task. The scientist knew that while she did in fact have good powers, she would not be enough for this.

"Well met, Killua," came her curt reply, letting him speak for himself first. He certainly like to talk - more than she did, anyway, which given her icy demeanour, was anything more than a few words at a time unless work was involved. For her, this matter was not yet 'work'. This was not scientific research.

At mention of his powers, though, there was a moment where she actually retained interest. Weapons were absolutely her domain. Those were the things that she liked doing. In fact, she designed them; it was the joyous fusion of her research before acquiring her slayer lacrima and the lacrima itself. Her ability to develop new equipment and weapons with magical power sources had become far more advanced now that she had the ability to summon both with the power of her magic. It brought her much joy to be able to fuse both her love of science with her ability to undertake guild work-- even if that love would never be physically or verbally displayed.

"I, too, am a slayer, though I am unable to expand on that further at present. Suffice it to say that I also summon weaponry. Shall we?"

No point explaining Ebon until the moment came up. Her abilities would remain secret, then come as a surprise when the moment struck and they could catch their enemies off-guard.

Pushing herself off the fountain's cold masonry, Riana stretched her arms as if the conversation had moved to them moving-- which, in its own way, it had. It was time to formulate a plan, then execute that plan. Unfortunately, it was going to have to be a very dynamic plan until they worked out how to get Killua into the situation. Riana began to walk in the direction of the building, though her path was going to meander slightly in order to buy them some additional time to organise what they were planning on doing.

"Theoretically we will be unable to just walk you into an establishment such as this due to your age. This means we will need to adapt rather rapidly. I am confident enough to walk in, but I would prefer a second pair of eyes. Do you have any ideas?"

As the introductions finished, Kil took one last look around them, his interest was piqued as Riana said that she too was a slayer, but didn't reveal much after that. He didn't mind though, it was normal to not share details about what one can do, especially in the open where anyone could be listening on their little conversation. The young dark mage smiled he felt like he could relax on this job and take it a bit easy while going about getting to know someone else from his guild. Taking in his surroundings one last time, he noted how peaceful the village was even when a dark guild stood at the top of the mountain.

His attention was refocused on Riana as she got up and stretched, Kil in turn stood up as well. Listening in to what Riana was saying. "Hmm, yea my age can be a bit problematic, I don't look like an adult like some other 16-year-olds. So let's check out the brothel itself if it's not some hard to get in I'll just enter from the roof or something and keep an eye out from above." He said taking the lead towards the brother.

The walk wasn't long before they reached the brother, the building like most others in the area was made of wood, it was rather large but gave the impression of being a 1-floor building which was useful to the young mage. There were a few windows and from what he could see there was a window at the top of the roof, most likely for access in case of repairs being needed. Kil mentioned for Riana to follow him so they didn't stand in front of the building and into an alley between the houses.

"Okay I was able to see lights inside so that means that it's currently operating or someone's inside at least. I noticed a possible entry from the roof so I can go inside from there, you can move in and I'll keep an eye out and cover you from any surprise attacks." He said, leaning against the wall. It was getting along perfectly, the building wasn't anything impressive in order to not draw attention and it was made with what was available in the village most likely. "If the rooftop entry doesn't work, I'll find another way inside, if you need help you can just do something loud and I'll just brute force my way in." He said.

"Alright, let's get this started, I'll see you on the inside hopefully." Pushing himself of the wall Killua moved a bit to the side and began climbing up on the nearby house, grabbing onto the wooden boards of the house, he hoisted himself up, before moving towards the brothel's own rooftop.

Reaching the rooftop of the brothel, he found a wooden trapdoor, slowly he attempted to lift it, a clunking sound stopped him as the trapdoor was locked with a padlock, requipping his silenced pistol, he aimed it straight from where he heard the sound and shot, the silencer muffling most of the sound as the trapdoor opened. Dropping slowly inside he found himself on a small ramp that was surrounded by wooden beams that supported the roof, he would be able to use them to navigate his way above the people below and so he did, taking a look at the people under him.

There was a handful of people some were drinking others were engaging in different things whether it be with women 'working' there or conversing with other people for things the young dark mage wasn't able to hear. Positioning himself to face the entrance and so that Riana could potentially see him when she entered.

Riana could not help but respect Kil's ability to analyse a situation. It seemed to her that he had carried out operations such as this in the past, which told her a lot in its own way - certainly plenty that he had seen enough combat for his age that he was at the very least some form of child soldier, and even more so that he was inevitably going to be extremely good at his job. Suddenly she found herself very thankful for this kind of backup on her side. However, it also got her thinking; would she need to be the one keeping up with him despite the fact that she was taking centre stage in this operation? The scientist wasn't sure. If he could hold his own, fine, but it sounded like he had the tactical ability and the firepower to overwhelm anything that came their way.

In that case, it was time for her to keep up in her own way.

"Here. Take this. I feel like you may find it useful."

As if on cue, a pair of small earbud-like devices materialised out of nowhere into Riana's outstretched hand; mastery of gadgets and the associated power that came with it allowed her to create tiny little machines and the useful functionality that came with them. Skin-coloured and small, these could be pushed into the ear to allow short-distance two-way conversation. This would allow Killua to hear the words that Riana spoke, which would at least give Kil the chance to eavesdrop on the conversation and engage any particular targets if things got dicey. Simple quality of life upgrades to the parameters of the mission would allow them to execute their objective with more efficiency. Riana pushed her own earbud in with practised ease, as if she'd done something similar in the past, or at least experimented with the concept of it.

When they came face-to-face with the front door, there was a slow and measured exhale - places like this were absolute dens of iniquity and horror, which Riana was only mostly equipped to handle - before she took hold of the doorknob and pushed her way into the building. She could sense Kil nearby, knowing that he was putting eyes on the situation. A moment later she caught a glimpse of his ashen hair, which she affirmed with a slight movement of her hand. She did not need to give away his position.

Quietly, the woman brushed the hair away from her eyes and took stock of the situation in front of her. Two people appeared to be dressed to be administrative staff for this facility. Another two were clearly security staff, with their large body frames and imposing demeanours. Buxom ladies and those she supposed to be their clients were coming and going from the room in intervals, likely to be whisked away to a back room for the very purpose that they were transacting. In this moment, the scientist very much felt as if she were prey - which was not a feeling that she was either accustomed to or willing to accept. Weakness was not an acceptable outcome.

Riana looked to the first receptionist. "Hi. I'm... looking for work."

This was in no way, shape or form the way she had ever expected her life to go. Saying that she was looking for sex work was most certainly not the way her lifepath was meant to go. However, the act was... plausible. Attractive enough (or so she thought) to at least be worth a look, with just a tinge of self-loathing in the sentence to say that while she was recalcitrant to be looking in this line of work, she was here to make money and nothing else. She would not be the first to do so.

Ideally, this would cause sufficient distraction for Kil to do whatever it was he felt the need to do.

"Certainly," said the receptionist, and motioned towards the back. "Come with me. The boss will want to speak with you before an audition."

Riana knew what that meant. Hopefully it would not come to that. However, compliant as she needed to be, she followed the receptionist through the door to the right that she had been indicated towards. One of the guards followed suit, leaving only one guard and one receptionist in the front room. Easy pickings - in theory.

Kil pushed the earbud device that was given to him with relative ease, he had used such devices before while he was in the military to communicate with his team members, useful little things if he might say. A smile crossed his face as Riana entered the building and gave a subtle sign that she gave, notifying him that she was able to see him without giving away anything to the unsuspecting brothel members.

As she approached the front desk Kil moved silently just above them. The earbud sparked to life as he heard the conversation taking below him and smiled again as everything seemed to be going smooth, they didn't ask her anything or even cared to look if she was caring anything, how careless. With one of the guards escorting her, the young dark mage waited a bit for them to get away further from the room, before requiping his CZ Scorpion and dropping down right on top of the receptionist, right as he landed he used the buttstock of the rifle to knock the receptionist on the head knocking him out cold as he fell flat on the desk. "Wha-." The bulky guard turned around to see what the noise was but was only met with trained sights on him as a silent bullet went through his head cleanly, dropping him to the ground.

Lowering his riffle and looking around Killua sighed, there was no place he could hide the body so they could keep the element of surprise. Letting the gun fall to the side, straining against the sling that kept it close to the young dark mage's body, he went ahead and pulled the bulkier man behind the receptionist's desk before he climbed to the wooden beams above again. Silently moving towards the next room so he could still keep eyes on Riana and in general.

This time the room was bigger, men could be seen conversing around tables, drinking, and gambling, others could be seen entering or exiting numbered rooms with women, which were most likely where the brothel's main entertainment. There were quite a bit of people, if he was to count them they would be at least twelve just in the main room, he didn't know how many of the rooms were occupied and if there were any more in the back, this was the maximum he could get from above, as the stairs to the wooden ramp next to him was in this room as well, there wasn't much to maneuver anymore.

Never the less he would wait for the red-haired mage to make her move, get a bit more information if push comes to shove, he would just take out as many as he could before continuing in close combat, there were bound to be some mages and he didn't want to have little room to maneuver. "I don't have much room up here anymore, if they take you to one of the rooms, just do something loud and I'll engage them, over." Kil silently spoke, hoping that the small earbuds were two-way and she could also hear him.

He positioned himself as much as he could under the cover of darkness so that as little light could touch his lower body and to be able to have a view of most of the activities happening below him and to be able to switch between targets as fast as he could. Now it was a waiting game for him.

While Riana followed along behind the receptionists, there was a voice inside her ear; Kil had some very basic instructions that would allow her to commence engaging the targets. Unfortunately, responding verbally here wasn't quite an easy task for her to be able to do. Instead, she resorted to double-tapping the earpiece itself while she wasn't being visually watched. She knew that this was a common sign for acknowledging a communication, which-- hopefully-- would come across well enough for Kil to get her point. This was an awkward situation to be in to begin with.

Down the hall, they came to a room with an unmarked door and another man standing directly outside it. This seemed to be their stop, as the burly sentinel took a quick look at the pair that had arrived in front of the door. A nod of approval from him later and the door opened, revealing a man who appeared to be in his mid-thirties with short-cropped and well-kept black hair, sharp facial features and a piercing gaze that very much indicated that here he was the primary predator. Inevitably, this was their main opponent. Someone with enough shrewd cunning and raw brazen courage that would allow him to think that he stood a chance of coming up against the guild. What a shame for him that his empire would come crashing down today. Next to him stood yet another bouncer, which meant that he very much valued his security and privacy.

Riana stood with her hands folded behind her back, which allowed her to push her chest forward - something that would certainly allow her to show off those curves and put her best foot forward. The man behind his desk said nothing, opting only to observe the scientist silently for a few moments. Those moments turned to long, drawn-out seconds, at which point the receptionist turned and left, closing the door behind her. This left Riana with two targets in this room, and a final target outside the room. Three people of unknown strength that she could theoretically hold off for a short amount of time before she required assistance.

Finally, after at least a solid thirty seconds of raw observation, the boss spoke. "Let me get a good look at you. Twirl."

Riana did as she was bade, slowly spinning around to show her lithe figure. She knew that there were at least three pairs of eyes on her at this very moment, sizing her up as if she were little more than meat at a market to be bought. Which, in this place, was a rather apt comparison for exactly what was going on. People were assessed for what they looked like and the service that they provided. There was no other way for this industry to operate, especially when it required exploitation of whoever worked at its bottom rungs; there was no shortage of people who were stepped on in order to make more money off little more than people selling their bodies. This was an inevitability in business, of course. When it came to something that was simultaneously so personal and yet required a total dispassionate detachment in order to do well, the disconnect was unreal. So many people ended up in this situation due to poor personal circumstance, which was unfortunate in its own way. However, Riana believed in making her own circumstance. This was not a circumstance she wished to ever have to properly be in herself.

The boss nodded approvingly. "I can work with this. You know, we usually don't get naturally attractive girls in the door here. What brings you to us?"

"Well, truthfully, this is something I'd kill to start," she said, adding a little drawl to her voice to make it a little different to her normal voice. Removing the clipped accent was likely a good start. However, there was something more important in there that her partner could hear. Keyword: go. Hopefully the extra couple of seconds would allow Kil time he needed to line up what he had to do.

"It's just such a shame that you will be the one dying for it."

At that moment, raw energy exploded outwards from Riana's body as she summoned the power of her slayer magic's primary ability. Red energy particles began leaking from her back like a demonic pair of wings as those particles began to flood the entire room. Metal coalesced from the air as it twisted to form the shape of the Ebon Fury - black shrouded steel in raw, unbridled form. Legs, chest, arms and body all formed, the gold and crimson-trimmed battle plate coming to rest over her body. In her hands were a shield of the same glowing red material that formed bladed wings upon her back, and a handle to one of her most trusted weapons - at this point it was little more than a cylinder. As the faceplate locked over her head and secured her into her metal cocoon, Riana locked eyes with her enemy - now those eyes were little more than dispassionate, red-glowing optical sensors.

At this point, anyone who could see down the hallway could see the red particles leaking from underneath the door. It was clear that something was going on in that room.

The crimson magitech blade formed to life with a distinctive snap-hiss, the energy weapon roaring to life Riana began engaging the combat protocols inside her battlesuit. Energy conduits spooled up to transfer power between different systems, allowing her now bulky yet powerful frame to move at high speed. Riana surged forward to engage the bouncer with her blade, slashing at them with a superheated stream of energy that caught him square in the chest as his sheer shock trapped him in this terrifying moment of surprise. As the man fell to the floor, the boss drew himself up to his full height and unleashed a nova ring of energy, which Riana brought her shield up to absorb as quickly as she could. She wasn't going to speak and give away the fact that Killua was in the building, but in that moment Riana knew that her opponent was considerably stronger than she was. She was going to need an exit strategy in order to handle this combat and come out alive. Likely she could hold him off for a few moments, however. It seemed like a few moments were all she was going to have.

Post by Killua 21st October 2021, 11:55 am

Blue eyes carefully looked at the people below, trained sights moving from one head to another, there were other people here that he might not want to kill, mainly civvies as he liked to call them that were just enjoying a good time, he didn't feel like killing them. So once Riana gave him the call the first ones to go were going to be the obvious guards of the place and after that anyone that decided to pick a fight with him even if they were civvies, once you start a fight you better be able to finish it.

His earbud sparked to life again as he listened in on the conversation that was going inside the office where their boss was supposedly located. Just from the words of the boss he knew that they were sizing her up, ironically this wasn't his first time in a brothel, there were numerous missions to take such places down, sometimes they were more than just brothel's but that was one a few rare occasions. "Of course you can work with this, you'll work with 80% of any woman that comes around." He mumbled under his breath in slight annoyance. It was ironic how these people seemed to treat others that they considered lower class while operating under the nose of a dark guild that didn't give two fucks about anyone except their own. What did they think will happen, become top dog in some small village and get protection from them, that is if they even knew there was a guild here.

There wasn't much time to dwell on it as a maniacal grin spread, as he heard Riana's voice over it "Roger.". She had a knack for the military, at least on the small things like communication and the fact that she could provide gadjets. As she had relayed her message the young dark mage trained his sights on the first guard and hell broke loose in the brothel. Silenced bullets rained from above as he riddled the first guard with bullets, the bullets that hit the wood that was hit by stray bullets made more noise than the actual gun itself.

Emptying the first mag, he quickly removed it and pulled another one from his requip space, quickly loading it to his gun as he continued to rain down terror. Three guards in total were dropped from the ensued panic of the villagers that were just here to enjoy themselves ran away from the brothel attempting to exit it quickly.

He was finally forced to jump off from the wooden beams and onto the ground as a wave of knives was thrown at him. "Seriously? Hello! I'm holding a gun, I wanna know who the smart ass is that brought knives to a gunfight." He said, obviously joking around with them, while removing another magazine from the gun and began loading in a new one. The joke didn't get him far as two of the bulkier guards quickly charged after him, now that they were able to get in range. "Did you think I'm vulnerable when reloading?" Kil said with a dark smirk as electricity gather around and inside his mouth, with one swift move a destructive blast of black lightning came out of his mouth enveloping both guards. With the dark electricity clearing out, both of the guards could be seen motionless on the ground, with sparks of electricity coming out of them from time to time. "So much for brute force." He remarked, proceeding to finish reloading.

As he was about the pull the charging handle of the gun he quickly had to stop and dodge, as a barrage of knives from both his left and right was thrown at him, nicking him across his upper arms and one drawing blood from his right chick. "Finally found yo-" He suddenly stumped, as he looked at his attackers. On either side, there were two women that held knives in between their fingers. What caught him off guard was the attire, they wore quite revealing outfits and looked like they worked here to provide sexual services, he expected all of these people to be out of here by now.

"Look, I'll give you a chance to walk away and we can forget about the cuts." Neither of the two women responded, instead they just circled around him. "No? You're funeral" Pulling his rifle up he let out a quick 6 round burst towards one of the 'assassins' at the same time, the girl had thrown a strange little bottle at Killua that was caught in his firing range, shattering it in the process, the bottle, in turn, released a large green smoke, on instinct Killua jumped back, avoiding the smoke while covering his face, pulling the side of his jacket over his mouth, there was a huge possibility that it was poison or just a smoke bomb, either way, he didn't want to take his chances.

A pleasant grin spread across his face, it looked like he was going to get somewhat of a challenge even if he perfectly knew the difference in skill. He only hoped that his partner was dealing okay with the situation on the inside. The faster he finished here the faster he could assist her if she needed it, the god slayer didn't have even the slightest clue on how good she is, the only thing he saw was the red particles from underneath the floor.

Having watched his first ally fall, the brothel boss was caught by surprise. Add to that the fact that the metallic armour in front of him was emanating energy that he had never seen before, then there was a moment of terror that ran down his spine. However, he was not about to give up as he knew he had the raw power and strength to overcome whatever obstacles laid before him. In the next instant, he summoned a giant shard of ice, one possibly the size of his head. It twisted in mid-air and shaped itself into the form of a sharpened spear, where it immediately lanced forth; Riana brought her shield up but its raw strength was too much for the shield. It dissipated into the air as the next ice shard followed it immediately.

This one, however, lanced square into her torso. The frozen bullet smashed through her abdomen armour and cut deep into her skin, where it sparkled away and burned her flesh with an unyielding painful sensation. The metallic shell that protected her had broken in that spot, leaving her bleeding skin exposed with only two shots of powerful magic. It turned out that, yes, he was indeed considerably more powerful than she anticipated.

Riana's heads-up display was already flashing yellow and red with warning signs and damage readouts that she did not need the expert opinion of when she could physically feel the damage. Even the voice of her in-skin artificial intelligence was beginning to rise into her ear, telling her exactly what she already knew.

-- Warning. Critical damage levels sustained. --

"Yes, SOFI, thank you," Riana muttered through gritted teeth. The pain in her chest was rising rapidly, forcing her to engage the nanite healing protocol as a matter of urgency; if she did not staunch the bleeding that was coming out of her abdomen, then she would easily bleed to death before Killua could get himself here to assist her. However, given the fact that she could detect large quantities of magical energy going off all around the building as well as a lot of noises including glass shattering, there was a solid chance that he was engaging his own enemies and that he would not be able to get here in time to assist her.

    Well then. All hers.

"Come on, Maren," she murmured to herself. She had to do this. There was no help to be found in this fight and, if all things were equal, then she was going to have to maximise the output of the Ebon Fury in order to make this happen. Fine. She could do that.

The wings of her beast, as well as the chest, knee and elbow panels, began to glow an even more furiously incandescent red. At maximum output, Ebon Fury could have put out such furious power and speed that most mages could have been in awe at its raw output. Scientifically, this thing was a blessing and nothing less; Riana was very thankful that her powers allowed her to take this divine beast and fuse with it to bless her with iron skin. That iron skin would shield her - just as the actual shield would - and she would take that power to slay her many enemies. She had never put the overdrive function into real testing in a proper combat situation, so this felt like a real and proper test of her machine in order to execute its greatest directive. Finally.

The beam sword dissipated, only to be exchanged with a ranged weapon, the trusty magitech rifle that could put holes in walls in a heartbeat. This was her favoured weapon for engaging mages, if only to ensure their compliance. People tended to obey a little better when they had a hole in their chest. The targeting reticle fell over her vision in her heads-up display and Riana took a barrage of shots at the man she was going to murder; the first two splashed against the back wall as he dove, scorching where it hit into nothing more than ash. The third shot bored a hole through his desk, and the fourth penetrated through that same space and hit him instead. As she watched the man howl in pain, Riana counted herself fortunate that her aim was improving. This, however, was no time to celebrate.

In the next instant, Ebon Fury traversed subspace. In the blink of an eye, the battlesuit was in front of its opponent, looming over him as the great spectre of death painted black and crimson; the rifle de-materialised itself in an instant as the same hand shot out to grab the man by the neck and push his wounded body to the floor. Here, she could see the look of shock and fear in his eyes - but all that he could see back was a dispassionate, cold machine that cared not for his puny human emotions.

Then she attacked, without mercy, without hesitation.

Electricity flowed from her hand into his body, flooding him with as much arcing energy as she could muster. Typically this was an attack she used at short distances, but here this was a message that needed to be sent. She watched as the brothel boss began to convulse, his muscles contracting and forching his body to shake and spasm as she overloaded his nervous system and its attendant pain receptors with all the energy that she could muster. There, she held him. She forced him to epxerience wracking pain, without end, until his body twitched one last time and his now-smouldering corpse went limp. Retracting her metallic hand from his throat, she gazed upon her handiwork; there was nothing but charred flesh where her hand had been, leaving a blackened imprint of her claw upon his throat like the predator that she had turned herself into. His eyes were glazed over as life left his body, leaving nothing but the acrid stench of burned skin in the air.

A slow breath out, and Ebon Fury disspated away into the void; she would not be able to maintain much more magical output if she tried, having drained so much of her energy in making all of that happen. The door to the room opened as she forced her way out, a hand coming to her midsection where the nanites had repaired her flesh as best they could. As she took her hand away, there was still fresh blood leaking from her wound. He'd done more damage than Riana had given her credit for. As such, clutching her abdomen, she strode out of the room, right hand ready in case someone else was present to engage her.

"Primary threat neutralised," she managed through gritted teeth to her ally. Hopefully he was having more luck.

A More Wretched Hive Empty Re: A More Wretched Hive

Post by Killua 24th October 2021, 4:04 am

"Stop moving so much, will ya." The young made was getting irritated, both assassins were using the terrain to dodge most of his bullets sent their way, nevertheless, he was entertaining himself, for the time being, it was a much easier job from his few previous jobs where he had to push himself to the limit. The only thing he had to do now was looking out for his guildmate as she was going to handle the boss of these worthless goons, hopefully, she would be able to handle it or at least stall long enough for him to finish out here.

Killua sighed as both of the women still ran, jumped, and skipped around the brothel, throwing knives and poison bottles from time to time, everything was intercepted by a hail of bullets stopping it halfway through before he aimed at them again. There was a pile of bullets and magazines around him and he knew that sooner or later he would either need to swap his gun or the ammo for this one would run out and he would have to either create new or buy and with currently 0 contacts, it was gonna be annoying to do either of those.

Deciding to stop playing around Kil loaded an armor-piercing bullet and carefully aimed towards one of the two assassins, a precise shot was fired at the spot she would be next. A painful scream was echoed afterward as the shot hit dead center in her chest. He ended her agony with a few carefully placed shots. Upon seeing this, the other assassin screamed as she rushed towards him in anger. Kil smirked, taking the opportunity to finish the other assassin as well so he could move and help Riana if needed. Laning up his shot, Killua pulled the trigger, upon doing so, the young soldier's face fell flat as he only heard a clicking sound come out of the Scorpion in his hand, without any bullet exiting the chamber. He was out of ammo, something he didn't account for and he was pretty sure he was out of ammo entirely and the assassin was already faced to face with him, lunging in an attempt to stab her target.

Thinking fast, the white-haired boy flipped the riffle using the body of the weapon to block her knife, metal hitting metal could be heard. Killua quickly turned his body and delivered a power kick, a sickening crunch could be heard as he lost her breath, making her fly away into a table destroying it completely. "I told you, I will give you one chance to leave." Kil sighed as he sent his rifle back to his requip space, there was no point in keeping it with him anymore without any ammo, he could always use something else that still had a magazine or two left in them. Time to check out how it's going on the inside.

As he turned towards the office of the brothel and was about to turn the knob to enter, he stopped himself and turned his head around as a new voice spoke out. "Well, well. What do we have here some hot shot that decided to play hero, isn't it past your bedtime kiddo?" The new person stepped into the hall, accompanied by a few other people that all looked different, not a single one of them gave off a feeling of a simple goon. "You can leave if you want or you're gonna meet the same fate as the rest of the people here." Kil threatened, fully facing towards them. "Look at this pipsqueak, thinking that he is high and might for dealing with a few useless idiots." Useless Idiots? He hated when people spoke like that about their 'soldiers' in a way, and yet that was the natural course. "Well, why don't you come at me then, see if you can even put a scratch on me." Steel eyes look at each of the newcomers, he was going to kill every single one of them, without any mercy.

The four people took up positions each ready to assault the young mage at any given moment, even with all the tough talk, if he was the only one here and took everyone out, he was dangerous and it didn't look like he was going to be playing around anymore. Just as it looked like the battle would begin the door behind him opened, from the inside Riana came out, with words that made Killua smile, before he looked her over, more importantly, the wound she had on her abdomen, it didn't look like she came out with minor injuries.

"Kill her, now!" Someone yelled out from the group, another one acting instantly upon it as he shot a blue lightning bolt straight at her. He was quickly left gasping as the young Slayer stretched his arm to the side right in front of her and seeming grabbed the lightning bolt, no it coiled around his arm before going into his mouth, this was the first time any of the other now apparent mages had seen such a thing.

"Weak." That was the only thing Killua said as he tasted the lightning, blue eyes looking at the person that sent it out. First, there was something he had to do, opening his palm a small metal and glass container opened, to what looked like green smoke. "This should help you up." Throwing the container right in front of her, breaking in the process, in turn, it released its green smoke, or more precisely small nanobots that dissolved in the person's skin to heal them and close wounds that they might have.

While that was taking effect, Killua looked at each and every one of the mages that were standing in front of him. "Let's see if you are as good as your previous words. Please do me a favor and don't run away." He said as an aura of black lightning was now surrounding him, crackling insanely around him. "Sacred Art: True Godspeed." He mutter under his breath, it wasn't the only power up he had used, his lightning moving around him as if it had a mind on its own, the overcharged effect as he liked to call it.

One of the four mages, moved to the side making the first move, cold eyes followed him as he launched a fireball at the now electrified dark mage. Black Lightning sparked around his mouth as he opened, taking one foot forward, a bellow of lightning was released straight into the flaming ball, enveloping it completely. That however is not the end of it, the blast continued afterwards towards the fire mage enveloping him as well. As the smoke cleared from the destructive blast, the fire mage could be seen half inside the back wall of the building, electricity still cracking out from the ground from time to time.

"One down, three more to go. Who shall be the next one." Killua coldly stated, at his stare was now back on the other three. Surprisingly the lightning mage a move, but rather than attacking he tried to run, leave the building as fast as possible. Killua moved from his spot, in what felt like an instant to some Killua was crouching on a counter in front of the mage, a trail of lightning shorty from where he had moved. His hand has mimicked a gun as black lightning was concentrated at the tip of his finger, his hand pressed against the forehead of the lightning mage. In a demonstrative manner, he brought his thumb down like a hammer on a pistol. "Boom." Concentrated lightning shot out of his finger passing straight through the mage before he fell lifelessly to the ground. "Two down, two more to go." He said, before finally having to dodge an attack, no dodge was the wrong move, he just walked away from it, a giant pile of spiky mud occupied his previous position, an earth mage. Well, it didn't matter, soon everything would be over.

He would pause, however, letting Riana join in as well if she wanted to, of course, he would be ready to intercept if necessary.

The immediate reaction that Riana had to being targeted was to plant her feet and brace herself, because she was ready to respond in the same exact way that Killua had and absorb the lightning - but, no, not only did he get to it first, he made wonderful use of the power that she was intending to use for herself. The tired look on her face gave way to a wicked smile, for the pain that she was experiencing was now fading rapidly. Riana knew that those nanobots were healing her - but what Kil didn't know was that she was now manipulating those same nanites healing her with her abilities. Once they finished their task, she twirled her fingers, the invisible metal constructs wrapping around her finger so that they absorbed into her system too. Sweet powerful refreshment. At his strength, this was all the energy she needed. She could not have asked for a more perfect turn of events.

    Systems report full power.

The voice, rumbling under her skin, told her everything that she needed to know. SOFI, the AI that she had injected underneath her skin to maintain and monitor her systems, was the perfect link of all of the systems that she had developed. It told her all that she needed to know about the situation around her, and her own condition. Her lips quirked up to a smirk, and she knew that it was now time to begin the next phase of combat.

Emerald eyes narrowed as they stared down at the final two targets that Kil had so graciously left for her, which she was now rather thankful for. Those bright red particles that had flooded the building now began to flow from her back like the wings of a cursed angel, until they began re-forming around her, whirling in an accursed tornado to create the unbridled power that was Ebon Fury. Its darkened shell hardened around her once again, concealing her features from sight as those passionless eyes vanished behind red optical lenses. As the whirlwind of energy vanished away in a single moment to leave only the hull of the monster, its particle fields humming quietly, Riana took a step forward. A single step was enough to fill the beast full of its magitech energy, its circuits thrumming considerably as a rifle materialised into her right hand. Even through the shell, it felt cool, familiar, like a weapon that was built for her, by her own hands, designed to be the perfect complement to her abilities. A glance down told her that the hull of her machine had been repaired in the unsummoning, which was precisely the effect she was going for by discarding it before she came out of the room.

Then the beast glowed again. Two hundred percent power as it executed full overcharge. Knees, forearms, chest, head crest, wingtips, eyes - all the blazing spectre of death.

The barrel of the rifle began to glow an unholy crimson too, the energy blast charging up to its maximum strength. Having witnessed all this, the final foe began to rapidly descend on Riana, knowing that in their power they could absolutely attempt to murder her before the robotic freak decided to take the shot that she was so ready to do so. The wind mage moved faster than Riana could initially track, but in that second her mind cast forth the magitech shield. Its tall bulwark allowed her to kneel and shield herself from the effects of a single hit, as the fool came close enough to try and slice through raw steel with a blade made of pure cascading air. The shield buckled under the pressure, but it held. It left him standing there, where he realised in that second the mistake he had made.

He did not see the assassin's smile as she pulled the trigger. Shock and horror washed over his face as, in that second, all the stored magitech particles unleashed in a destructive wave. The full power blast tore through his chest, imploding his heart in that instant, before it ripped out the other side of his torso and scorched the ceiling above them. The body, in the next moment, hit the deck with a sickening crunch that was absolutely unmistakeable. Three of the four mages had just been pulled from this mortal coil with little more than a thought. What a shame that Riana had to exert more effort than Killua did to replicate that feat, but it was certainly worth the time.

The mechanical monster rose to its feet once again, looking out across the situation of the battlefield. The earth mage was-- wisely-- holding back from engaging either of them at this distance, which was probably for the best on his part. With an overwhelmingly strong assassin and a steel monster facing him down, he was unsure of how to handle himself in this situation, and that was the correct answer as far as Riana was concerned.

"What do we do with him, do you think?" asked Riana. Unlike her normal cold tone, it was now modulated with a mechanical buzz, making it sound even more distant and inhuman than before. Both rifle and shield vanished into the aether as she spoke, dissipating into clouds of the same particles that continuously flowed from her steel wings behind her.

"If you ask me, I don't think we should leave any witnesses," was the follow up, taking a menacing step forward as she stared at the earth mage and projected all of her focused power outwards, trying if nothing else to intimidate him into submission. However, she had absolutely meant every word she said - that earth mage would not be leaving this building alive. In fact, this building would not be standing by the time they were done, but nobody else needed to know that. This place would become a silent tomb for those foolish enough to stand against the guild, their corpses a memorial to that folly.

Post by Killua 25th October 2021, 11:08 am

Amused blue eyes looked at the metal battlesuit that was now covering Riana. Slayer magic, huh. It was really different than what he expected, it was his first time, seeing something like this to be slayer magic. It most likely meant that she could consume some weird things as well that would regenerate her and lead her to Slayer Force. Quite interesting, it was a good idea to let her deal with them for a bit, it would just show him how this 'type' of slayer used their magic. It wouldn't be long as she was already preparing to attack when a riffle had materialized. Kil took this as a cue to move away from the other two, opting in to sit down at one of the tables that weren't broken from all the fighting in the brothel.

Intrigued, he leaned a bit forward and supported his face with his left hand, leaning into it a bit. He was quite interested to see how this was going to go, as the suit of armor began yet again to glow, every portion of the armor glowed. Was she able to enter Force somehow? Or this was the natural look for the armor when she was in combat, intimidation factor maybe.  The young dark mage wondered, he was able to enter Force one time and it was quite needed if he had to say. The shield and sword mage that he fought day really pushed him to the limit and if it wasn't for the fact that he had a downside on that he had to release lightning, the fight might have ended differently. Force gave out a significant boost to one's capabilities, once you've consumed enough of one's specific element or elements, now he wondered what type of slayers there were out there. He liked fighting strong people, and the thought of these slayers interested him even further to check them out and see if he can get such magic as well.

His attention was brought back to the present world as Riana had taken aim, at the wind mage, the final one that didn't have a magic that was identified up until now. He was moving a bit faster than one would normally expect, with a blade made of pure wind ready to slice anything before it, as he had stupidly charged the metal construct. Kil thought that it would be easy here and that a simple well placed shot from the magic rifle would end the fight, but it looked like the fellow slayer taken on a different path and summoned a shield or materialized, he was still wondering what of the two was happening here. Kil watched carefully in case he had to jump in and the mud mage was still standing still, good, no interruptions.

It looks like the shield held, and it wasn't much left for the wind mage as Riana had used her rifle to end his life. He was impressed these guys would be no pushover for her, and at the current moment, they didn't pose much of a threat.

As Riana spoke, Kil got up and went next to her it was time to finish up the brothel and these guys with it. "Well we can't leave him standing after everyone else is dead can we." Black lightning concentrated at the index finger of the young slayer yet again as he pointed towards the earth mage. A line of black lightning shot out passing through the earth mage's forehead before he fell lifeless. "Problem solver." He said as he put his arms behind his back the lightning aura around him finally subsiding.

"Since I stole the last kill, you can deal with the brothel if you want, make sure that nothing's left standing." He said waving his arm for Riana to follow him and he went outside. There were no people around and everything seemed to be closed, at least they avoided the area from all the fighting. "Ahh, I can't wait to get back to the guild and relax a bit." Kil stretched, the job was almost over..

Well, that was that. All four elemental mages slain, their bodies bleeding out on the floor from their grievous wounds, leaving them little more than collateral in what was to inevitably become the final act of this macabre dance. A rather kind offer was given to her, which she had to smirk about - Kil was being gracious.

"My pleasure. Please retreat to at least ten feet from the front doorway to avoid the blast radius," Riana stated rather matter-of-factly. The fact was, mastery of weapons and gadgets meant that she could create high-explosive bombs with exceptionally precise parameters as necessary, which was exactly what she intended to do. At ten feet from the door, she planned it to only be the residual shockwave from the explosion as opposed to any incendiary effects, but high-incendiary explosives were not something she could control after the fact - this was going to be primarily explosive in nature, in order to bring the building down around the dozens of corpses thad had been left inside.

In front of her eyes, a series of calculations flashed around her; these were not only the specifications for the low-grade warhead, but also perfect placement for the item. SOFI was being kind enough to handle this for her at this point, which meant that she could focus on how this warhead was going to work. Simple - flood the area with magitech particles, then simultaneously ignite them such that the building detonated under its own weight using a sonic detonation. It really only needed to cut maybe half a foot of flat material in order to bring the roof down and cause permanent structural damage, which was little more than child's play to the scientist. Therefore, with her hands waving in very specific patterns, a hexagonal prism formed in front of her, with a glass tank taking up most of its volume, and a series of circuits criss-crossing the rest of its body. That glass tank shortly filled with the magitech particles that she owned and manipulated, preparing itself for the detonation that was to come. This would be a sufficient detonation. As SOFI guided her movements, Riana placed the explosive in the geographical centre of the facility, where it could take out the structure in its entirety.

A moment later, Kil would see Riana exit the building, a hand moving through the air as if invisibly conducting an orchestra. Three seconds later, the moment she crossed the ten foot mark that she had specified, the air went silent - as if all sound had been sucked away by the seismic charge that she had placed, followed by a mighty crashing as the sound of the slicing wave, crimson as she had deigned, broke the lowest layer of the building, in a half-foot-thick powerful wave that cut the bottom of the building away. With its supports broken, the building began to crash around them; the dust wave and shrapnel that the building ejected rapidly were the follow-up marks of the fact that the entire structure had been brought down around them to its proverbial knees.

    The air, eventually, fell silent.

"A job well done," Riana said, finally dismissing her battle armour and taking a long breath out. She had not fully combat-tested her equipment, but that was no longer a concern; in her opinion, she had done rather well in the first real live-fire test that she'd ever put it through against constant waves of hostile opponents. Her mechanical monstrosity had acquitted itself well. However, what was more key here was the fact that the enemy of the guild had just been removed. The Queen would wish to know every detail about this encounter.

She looked over, finally, to her companion.

"Thank you for your cooperation. This mission would not have been completed without you."
