It was a day like any other aboard the S.S. Endeavor, the staff of the animal handling having their daily walk through the many containment areas of the creatures being housed in the ship. One of the Rehabilitation Leads would be walking down a hallway with a younger member, a rookie who was among the newer members of the guild. Her hair was neat but kept in a faded beanie that contained her mass of dark brown hair. A pair of glasses sat on her face, wearing a lab coat over her cadet uniform. She walked alongside an older, more refined gentleman while he'd be carrying a box full of supplies for the day. Food and samples prepared by the lab for the animals they would tend to for today, tools for taking samples to be sent back to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
"Thank you for allowing me to shadow you on your daily rounds, Dr. Abernathy." The younger girl said, carrying her boxes under her two hands as the male would smile at the girl. "The pleasure is all mine, Cadet. Besides, I need an extra body for our most recent arrival in this department. I assume you have not been briefed yet?" The younger girl shook her head in response, her lips caught in a soft pout.
"Don't feel too ashamed. I doubt they've updated the recruitment material since I got here," The doctor chuckled to himself, rounding the corner while the understudy would follow him closely. Other workers aboard the department were scurrying around with their various duties for the day and the last thing she wanted to do was to get lost on her first day. "Around a week ago, our research station in Frostgard was approached by the locals with quite the offer. Deep within one of the caverns in the far west reaches of the mountain, they discovered a specimen of slime within a chunk of ice, perfectly intact. Its name is Nuruli, though I'm not sure of the translation of their tongue however."
The Cadet blinked, confused. "So we traded food and supplies for a frozen slime?"
"When you put it that way, it does sound rather ridiculous." The Doctor said with an amused grin on his face. "But this specimen we collected isn't like the many slimes around Fiore. A preliminary tested showed signs of latent magic still pulsing in the frozen specimen, meaning-"
"That there's a chance that it might still be alive! Do you really think that's true? I can believe a monster having ethernano, but a slime, of all creatures…"
The doctor let out another chuckle at her question and train of thought. "In this vast world of ours, anything could be a possibility. But today, we'll only be doing a small test of the ice to see if the core is still functioning and good health." The two would enter the Fourth Floor after a flight of stairs and turn the corner into the holding area, where the many animals being kept aboard the ship would reside. The room they were looking for would be near the grassland animals, although some devices were prepared to help slowly thaw the trapped slime within the ice out.
Yet it wasn't until they opened the door to see a most confusing sight. Chunks of ice were broken across the floor, some having moved in front of the medium sized heaters to melt away into a puddle of water across the floor. "Oh no! I don't see the slime anywhere…Do you think the slime melted with the ice, Dr. Abernathy?" The woman peered all around the area while mind the puddles around the floor. She didn't want to accidentally step in ancient lost and forgotten slime goo and end up hurting the poor guy. The doctor would investigate the broken ice, kneeling down while turning fragments around and putting a hand to his chin at what he had discovered. "There's no residue left in the ice. So our little friend broke itself out on its own." His eyes would travel along the wall at the trail of Azure substance coating a wall before stopping at the vents in the right corner of the room. "And decided to leave the room."
An announcement was made over the S.S. Endeavor intercom a short while after the two had left the room to report the missing creature.
Meanwhile, the escaped slime had managed to go about exploring its new environment after breaking out of the room. Nuruli had been in the vents so far, her gel like body sticking to the walls as it would continue to maneuver about the ventilation system around the ship. The path was so confusing though, and the small slime would soon find itself having climbed all the way to the first floor, where the lounges were located. After carefully squeezing her way past the floor vents, the sphere of slime bounced her way towards the tables in search of food, sometimes ramming into things as it would harmlessly rebound off and explore about.

"Attention: All members aboard, please be on the lookout for an escaped beast from Research Level Four. The escapee is a medium sized slime and may be hostile if directly engaged with force. When found, please call R&R."
