Kaido entirely forgot about obtaining a passport. It wasn’t that much of a thought, at the time but, with him being in a guild, this would be necessary, wouldn’t it? Kai was at home when this thought came across him so, he gathered his things and left without a second thought. Before heading out, he made sure to grab some other things like food. Just in case it would take longer. As he walked out the door, he took a breath of fresh air. Like all the other days in Fiore, it was a beautiful day. The sun was shining brightly like always and people were out and about. So, he started on his journey with little to no information on how to even get a passport. The only thing he heard that included getting a passport, was that they were a few offices in Cedar that were given passports. Another thing about that was how crowded they were. That’s a simple issue that he can handle when he gets there. Kai called a cab and left for cedar.
Still early into the day, the streets were bustling with merchants, pedestrians, and construction workers. Kai made his way down to the passport office and was stunned when he got inside. The building was filled with all the lines chock-full of people. Disheartened, he meandered into line to wait his turn. There had to be a way around this, he did not want to wait for hours.
The crackling of grit under his boots made a very audible sound as he made his way towards the entrance. The door swung open, moved by slight winds. There was a wooden placard that said, ‘Registration opens at 9:00 AM please form an orderly line.' As he glanced back, those who had lined up glared daggers at him. Golly, he wasn't a line jumper, relax. Waiting in line, there were 3 hours till opening, plus the line looked like it would take at least 45 minutes. 3 hours and 45 minutes. That was a long time but, he came prepared with food and everything and he would be doing things way harder than waiting in a line for 3 and more than a half hours.
It was good that he carried food with him. All this standing and waiting was making him hungry. So, He reached into the top pocket of his bag and pulled out a regular-sized cardboard box. With deft fingers and a practiced motion, he flicked open the lid and pulled a small pastry out of it. There were numerous amounts of small jelly pastries in the box and they may be small but, one of these could last him a while. Mainly because of the ingredients. After he finished eating, he placed the box back in his bag and realized that he was at the front desk now. There was a middle-aged lady sat down in a chair. You could see the visible remnants of spittle on the corner of her mouth, nasty. She looked up and looked at Kaido. “Name, please?” The lady said as she adjusted her glasses. “Kaido Vanidestine.” Kai said as the lady wrote down his name. “Are you in a guild? If so, what guild are you in?” She said in a boring monotone. “Rune Knights.” Kai said as he couldn't take his eyes off the ground. “Stand in the booth so, we can take your picture.” The lady said as Kai moved towards the booth and stepped in. Once he stepped in, the lady took the picture. He wasn't even sat down or anything! So rude.
From a slit in the booth, a leather case came out of it and it had his details in it. Looks like that's over and done with, finally.
