Personality:
Elysis Illumina Illustria wasn’t always the lone traveler that she is today. Born to a family of minor merchants, she grew up to a life with little hardships and the warmth of hearth and family. Her politeness and calm nature stem from her educated upbringing. It was when she was barely past her child years that her parents went on their final voyage. They were to bring some suspicious cargo and their regular wares across the sea to their destination. The voyage never finished, the ship vanishing in the middle of its route with no trace of it or a wreck ever being found.

Devastated from the sudden death of her immediate family, Elysis withdrew from the outside world and became distant from others. Changed from these events she became cold, distant, and started to find it difficult to form bonds with others. She spent her days inside their manor, looking solemnly outside the windows waiting for the day to pass.

One day she was wandering around her manor lost in thought when she found herself entering her parents’ room for the first time since their deaths. She felt a chill crawl down her back and immediately started feeling like she was being watched. She called out, asking if anyone was there but received no response. Terrified but curious on what could make her feel that way, she began to search the room. Eventually she found a long metal box stored under the bed. She pulled it out and slowly opened it to find a sleek red and black sword set in velvet cloth.

Eventually her curiosity won over apprehension and reached for the sword. The moment her fingertips touched the eerie metal of the blade she felt power flood her body and a presence settle in her mind. She doesn’t remember what happened after that but the next time she became aware she was walking away from where her home was. She realized that the sword in her hand was dangerous but found that she could not drop the weapon, only put it away. She also realized that the sword had done something to her, she felt her grief and loneliness dulled, in fact all her emotions were dulled. They were still there but she could ignore them with disturbing ease. Then a thought not her own rang in her mind, offering her answers to her questions about her parents under the condition that she accept wielding it and find some use for it.. She accepted after a few moments of hesitation.

Likes:

• The smell of rain: The smell of rain brings a sense of peace and calm to her.
  
• Pastries with chocolate in them: These are her favorite type of pastries.
  
• Mint Scents: She is prone to inhaling very deeply when around something minty.
  

Dislikes:

• Harsh heat and light: Elysis does not enjoy harsh heats and lights, she is less patient during hot summer days.
  
• Sand: Elysis tries her best to not have to interact with sand. She always finds that it gets everywhere and takes days make sure that she’s sand free.
  
• Getting wet when she’s not supposed to be: Though no stranger to getting wet, sometimes even enjoying being soaked in water, getting wet when she isn’t supposed to be is irritating for Elysis.
  

Motivations:

• Interest: One of the biggest reasons that Elysis would ever do anything, she has an interest relating to that action, be it something simple as monetary gain or more grand such as doing something to fulfill the blade’s offer.
  
• Answers: Elysis wants answers, answers that only the sword she now wields can give her. It’s condition is that she wield and actively use it and when it feels like it’s been used well enough it’ll give her an answers.
  
• Purpose: Tying to her drive to find the answers about her parents she tries to find a purpose for herself that enables her to use the sword.
  

Fears:

• To die before she finds the answers she’s looking for.
  
• To lose herself as she’s fulfilling her part of the sword’s deal.
  
• To form close bonds with other people only for them to be suddenly severed.
