“If you gaze into into the abyss, the abyss will gaze back”
Guild Overview: The Abyssal Fleet’s origins remain unknown, just like an unannounced storm. The Abyssal Fleet has brought terror in both the skies and seas of Earthland. Sailors and pilots alike whisper about a fleet of ghost ships led by a massive airship known as the Andromeda. There are rumors that anyone who joins the ranks of the Abyssal Fleet can attain immortality at the cost of one's loyalty and soul to the Admiral that helms the Fleet of the damned… If these rumors are true or not remains unconfirmed. One thing is for sure… even Davy Jones himself would cower at the sight of the black Sails of the Abyssal Fleet…
The Abyssal Fleet’s forces have dominion over the sea and skies often attacking seafaring vessels and airships as well. The Abyssal Fleet crushes it’s opponents with naval and aerial superiority. The Abyssal Fleet traverses the skies and seas under the cover of a perpetual raging black storm that stretches for miles, which renders any compass and navigational gear useless, thus tracking the Flag Ship, Andromeda, impossible by any conventional means. Appearing and disappearing almost instantly is what makes The Abyssal Fleet so elusive and dangerous.
The main basis of operations of the Abyssal Fleet is led by its flag ship, the Andromeda. However, somewhere in Shadow Island is the hidden port of the abyssal fleet. This secret port is a small town cloaked in perpetual night, lit by lanterns of brothels and shops, acting as a safe haven for all pirates pledged to the Abyssal Fleet. Although the Abyssal Fleet encourages merry making amongst its members, a modicum of discipline is expected. All pirates that have joined the Abyssal Fleet must uphold the Pirates Code. Any insubordination to the Admiral, Captains, and the Pirates Code can expect a punishment worse than death…
Goals
Expansion of the Abyss: The Abyssal Fleet’s desires to expand the domain of darkness known as the Abyss by locating weak points in the fabric of space and time. Upon locating these weak points, The Abyssal fleet will then puncture that point, essentially creating an interdimensional gate only accessible by the Abyssal Fleet's flagship, Andromeda. By locating and establishing these gates, The Abyssal Fleet can establish footholds all over earth land, allowing the fleet to be wherever and whenever the Admiral may please. Thus dominance over the sea and air is one of the primary goals through the means of the abyss is one of the primary goals of the Abyssal Fleet.
Wealth & Treasure Hunting: The Abyssal Fleet are pirates to the core. So it should not come as a surprise that one of the Abyssal Fleets main goals is to grow in power and wealth. This is primarily done through pillaging and stealing. The Abyssal Fleet primarily targets merchant ships, airships, and wealthy communities established by the coastal communities of the country. Although The Abyssal Fleet does not actively pursue bloodshed and murder, anyone who peacefully surrender their loot will most likely find mercy from the Abyssal Fleet. However, the Abyssal Fleet will not hesitate to destroy anyone or anything that resists. Treasure hunting comes with the profession, thus The Abyssal Fleet often sets on expeditions to explore uncharted territory in order to hunt down treasure and lost relics. These treasures range from odd trinkets, caches of gold to powerful and destructive artifacts. If the Fleet prospers, each pirate fighting under the Abyssal Fleet flag can expect to have a share in the loot.
Freedom & Adventure: One of the cornerstones of the Abyssal Fleet is adventure and freedom. To discover new lands and uncharted territory this is one of the driving forces of the Abyssal Fleet. If one wishes to quench their thirst for wanderlust and adventure without being shackled by the law, then The Abyssal Fleet is the place for you. Each member is entitled to how they wish to progress in their career in piracy, as long as a member upholds his or her responsibilities in the fleet then their freedom is theirs. No loyalties to countries or governments, the only loyalty needed is loyal to your crew and the Fleet. In return the Abyssal Fleet promises to safeguard each of its loyal crew members’ freedom. One can choose to leave whenever they please, as long as they follow the proper procedures.
Immortality: Death is a concept the Abyssal Fleet simply disagrees with. Upon making a deal with an unknown entity, the Admiral of the Abyssal Fleet has the power to grant the most loyal crew members a form of immortality. After proving one’s worth and loyalty, a member of the fleet can join the ranks of the “Abyss Walkers” a rank that can only be given by the Admiral. Those who become an abyss walker, join the main crew on the Andromeda. Should an Abyss Walker die, no matter how badly damaged the body is, they will be revived and their bodies reformed onboard the Andromeda. This is one of the goals of the Abyssal Fleet, to give its members a chance to free themselves from the shackles of a mortal life. If one wishes to go on a never ending adventure, if one wishes to cheat death… then one must join the fleet and prove their worth…
Location
All ships, whether it be seafaring or airborne, dock in a hidden port located in Shadow Island. This port has been colloquially named by the pirates of the Abyssal Fleet as Black Water port. Black water port is a town occupied by noncombatant members of the fleet or family members of the Abyssal Fleet in general. Some of the inhabitants of Black Water port that were once slaves were liberated and set free by countless raids conducted by the fleet. The port offers shelter from the outside authorities, a place where pirates of the Abyssal Fleet can relax, get rum and find company for their beds.
Although Black water is populated mostly by pirates, there is a decent amount of order and peace at the port, this is due to the Pirate Code and the respect for the Admiral and the Andromeda. Supplies are constantly smuggled into Black Water port, each ship brings their share by having crew members pay for bedding, supplies, entertainment and many more essentials and commodities. Because of this a fully functional economy circulates in Black Water making it a sanctuary for pirates and thieves. There is one notable thing. Although Black Water port is under the protection of the Abyssal Fleet it’s flagship almost never docks at the port...
Andromeda
The Andromeda is the crown jewel of the Abyssal fleet, the ship essentially acts as the main guild hall. The flagship is classified as a Leviathan Class Dreadnought. The Andromeda’s total length is 1075m long, her width is 315m wide, and she stands 357m tall. One of her most notable features is the large skull that adorns the front of the ship. The ship is filled with all sorts of commodities and essentials. Living stations, food synthesizers, a water filtration system etc. This essentially allows the Andromeda to be fully self-sustainable.
The Front of the ship functions as a battering ram allowing the Andromeda to ram into enemy ships allowing the crew to board the enemy vessel. The Andromeda is equipped with many powerful cannons allowing her to unleash heavy ordinance during battle. Each cannon can be controlled by Andromeda herself, however, crew members of the Andromeda can operate these cannons and manually fire the cannons themselves. Due to the heavy armaments equipped onto the Andromeda, this makes her essentially a moving fortress that excels both in offense and defense. In battle of attrition and sustained cannon fire the Andromeda has more than enough firepower to hold her ground even if she were to be outnumbered by enemy ships.
The Andromeda can traverse in the air, on the sea and underwater. This allows the Andromeda to move across earth land discreetly. The Andromeda’s hull is reinforced by an otherworldly metal making it incredibly durable and highly resistant to magical and non magical damage. The reinforced hull of the Andromeda allows her to dive deep into the deepest parts of ocean depth. Despite the massive size, the flagship is incredibly fast and maneuverable whether it be traveling by air, sea or under water.
The Andromeda is not like any ship found in Earthland, what makes The Andromeda unique is that the ship itself is alive. She is a living entity contracted to her current Captain. The Andromeda, unlike normal ships, can repair herself upon taking damage. She has the ability to create a perpetual black storm that spans for miles. This storm renders any tracking and navigational devices useless, only ships affiliated with the Abyssal Fleet have the knowledge to traverse this abyssal storm created by the Andromeda.
Another ability the Andromeda possesses, is the ability to open a rift into an alternate dimension known as the Abyss. This ability is unique only to the Andromeda alone. Due to the Abyss’ nature, time and space function differently, while traveling the Abyss the Andromeda can travel large distances in seemingly minutes. Due to this ability the Andromeda can weave in and out of the Abyss making it near impossible to track and pursue. However, the greatest ability of the Andromeda is its ability to revive and resurrect its crew members. Those who have proven their worth to the Andromeda and her captain can be given the ability to join her crew and attain this form of immortality.
Another unique trait of the Andromeda is her ability to physically manifest herself into a humanoid form. She prefers to be called by her name, Andromeda. As a living entity the Andromeda has full sentience, allowing her to move on her own will and will only subject herself to whomever is her current Captain. Andromeda draws power from the abyss, thus she has no need for normal fuel unlike other ships... The origins of Andromeda are unknown but one thing is for certain... she is the blend of sophisticated technology and primordial dark magic… Despite her mysterious origins she remains the symbol and might of the Abyssal Fleet.
Guild Positions
Admiral: This is the highest position in the Abyssal fleet, the Admiral is not only the supreme commander of the fleet, but the Admiral is also the Captain of the Andromeda. The Admiral has full authority to mobilize the entirety of the Abyssal fleet essentially functioning as a guild master for the fleet.
Abyss Walkers: Elite Crew Members hand picked by Admiral to serve as crew members to The Andromeda. These members are pirates who have proven their loyalty to the fleet and have been given the right to join the Admiral as part of Andromeda's immortal crew.
Captains: Essentially aces of the Abyssal Fleet. Captains are also part of the Abyss walkers, however these individuals are entrusted by the Admirals to lead their own ship and crew. Each of the captains have the right and authority to approve new members who wish to join the fleet. Each captain’s ship can either be a seafaring vessel or an airship.
Crew Members: All members start off as regular crew members and can work their way up to become a captain or even part of the Abyss Walkers. Each Crew member is entitled to their share of the loot and can enjoy the protection of the Abyssal Fleet. Some crew members may gain the right to board and help with the responsibilities on the Andromeda, oftentimes these crew members eventually join the ranks of the Abyss Walkers.
Guild Symbol
Although the symbol of the Abyssal Fleet is not on the flags of its ships, each member including the Admiral have been marked by this symbol. The Kraken symbolizes the abyss and it’s mysteries, its tendrils representing the expansion of the Abyssal Fleets dominion over not only of the Abyss but dominion over the sea and sky. The spear represents the might and power of the Abyssal fleet. Each member can choose whatever color they please for their own individual mark. The mark can be given by the Captains, Admiral, or even from Andromeda herself. All those who bear the symbol of the Abyssal fleet instantly gain knowledge of how to traverse through the black storm created by Andromeda. Those with the symbol also know the way to the secret location of Black Water port. Should an individual be banished from the guild the mark will disappear and the individual will forget how to travel through the black storm and how to get to Black Water port.
To join the ranks of the Guild, certain individuals can find their way through the storm or into Black Water port. Other times the Andromeda will appear before certain individuals other times that said individual would be even allowed to board. Others are called to join the Abyssal Fleet through more mundane means such as recruitment or joining the crew on one of the pirate ships that belong to the Abyssal Fleet.
Captains and Abyss walkers have modified versions of this symbol allowing them to teleport onto the Andromeda, however this is incredibly taxing to the individual thus it is recommended to only use this function only in case of emergencies.
Guild Color
The Guild Color of The Abyssal fleet is Blood Red (#710c04). This color represents the soul and vigor of each crew member. This color is also meant to symbolize the blood of the enemies crushed by the Abyssal Fleet…
